welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Merlissa had been the one to defuse everything back when she first arrived here in town, so when she heard the teacher wanted to see her again the Flurry did not question things at all, it seemed far from unusual. Large white feet treaded on the cement side walk enjoying the intense cold offered to the bare appendages as her tail dragged the ground behind her. Things were warm here to the high altitude dweller even though it was cold enough some piles of snow still existed around the campus, thus she tried to find any excuse to be exposed to cold. Jiyu's new way of being exposed to the cold? Was slipping into the pool which wasn't heated but left filled for weirdly warm days or something, anyways the water was cold as ice and she even had to break some ice to get into it, making the water perfect.

The training grounds Merlissa specifically asked for Jiyu to be in seemingly was rather isolated. Then again with what seems like twenty large golem knights surrounding the enclosed area, scaring off even the birds. However, they moved aside for Jiyu, even opened the door for her. After walking for a bit in darkness, a large pool of water and near icy cold temperatures would greet the dragon, with Merlissa, dressed in appropriately clothing, with her fish tail dipped inside the pool. Upon seeing her subject arrived, she waves to her with a smile. "Thank you for accepting my request upon such short notice. I had prepared a special area for you," Merlissa strips off the winter clothes and dives into the wide stretch of water, swimming up to Jiyu with incredible grace. "If you are wondering how I managed to figure out you are adapted to the cold and would gladly be in such an environment, I referred to a dragon species with a close enough biology and possibly even ancestry, the Atlanticus. They prefer the cold environments as well. Excellent swimmers too." Merlissa then laughs. "I'm getting ahead of myself, I asked you here today to help in the progression of the study of Species!" Merlissa had a grin on her face. "You have no idea how amazing your appearance is, no one has ever seen a Flurry in near millenniums! And despite the unfortunate circumstances that allowed your appearance, I feel it is a civic duty to well, ask a few questions in a suitable environment," Merlissa clapped her hands in a cheerful manner, swimming away and grabbing a pool float, before pulling herself onto it and paddled over back, clipboard and pen in hand.

Isolation was something the female was perfectly fine with, honestly it was impossible to tell how much time she'd spent alone across her numerous lifetimes, it just sometimes ended up being her thing. Additionally, the intimidation preformed by the golems was not something the large female noticed due to the fact she normally lived in an area were only her kind could truly live, she wasn't used to seeing other species or animals unless she sought them out. Floating with her large wings spread out in the huge pool she drifted content, her gaze focusing in on the part fish when she swam over.
"Oh yes, I believe I've seen some at the base of the mountain I live on." and this was the moment she dreaded, sighing slightly as she shifted slightly moving through the water as if she was flying by tucking her legs underneath of her to eliminate the resistance since the rest of her body was fairly streamline. "I guess so. But, if I'm going to tell you a lot I need the promise that you'll help keep a few secrets, particularly where I go and who I go with, if I survive until I can leave." Jiyu was always the sort to socialize with other species, but she hadn't encountered another Flurry willing to do so yet, she didn't want to endanger the rest of her kind by being different.

"Do not worry about confidentiality when it comes to me," Merlissa reassured as she swam around the dragon, her eyes taking in detail after detail, scribbling something onto her clipboard. "We understand races go far beyond their looks and innate abilities. They abide by different laws, believe in things others do not. Some even have prejudice among themselves, because that is how they are shaped to be." Merlissa goes back to her pool float and relaxes on it, before showing the Flurry the clipboard.
It was a detail drawing of Jiyu's dragon form, with tag notes with hypothesis based of observation alone. There was however another picture, a picture of a Atlanticus. They are more humanoid in appearance compared to such a similar species, however many things such as wing structure helped pinpoint as possible ancestor between the two, perhaps why the Atlanticus are rare but known, but the Flurry are of a real rarity, an enigma till now. There was however older notes, with crude drawings and small observations, the yellowish color a sign of age.
"See you aren't the first Flurry, but you are certainly the first to be in direct contact with," Merlissa elaborated her point. "You see my Professor had once met a Flurry, but all he managed to grab was basic sketches. However due to an incomplete thesis it was never submitted as an official new race. But key differences showed it was a new species, there just was not enough evidence to support it beyond basic observation sketches." Merlissa was brimming with joy. "Oh if he could see you now he would be jumping for joy!"

The assurance of confidently was extremely good considering the reclusive nature of her kind and the fact even though she wished that she could say her father's group had been annihilated she knew they still existed against the grain of the rest of their kind. "Oh we don't have prejudice among each other I'm not an outcast or something, actually I'm an alpha of the largest pack living in this region." she was a bit different from most of her kind in the sense she was the only one among her pack who had been trained to fight, but that was more a history thing and related to the curse she seemed to be under for each time she reincarnated. "However, for the most part we do hate or at the very least fear every other species or monster in existence. Why do you think we're been so reclusive and I tried to attack everyone? We are no where near extinct, in fact there's at least a single large pack living in each country with the colder and more mountainous countries supporting several dozen packs at least." she had very good reason besides her own personal history across several lives with other living creatures to be instantly distrustful of anything living presented to her. The last time Flurry had been willing to interact with those outside of their species, they had been hunted relentlessly for nothing expect for staying true to their virtues and the results of that had become a behavioral trait of the species.
Swimming forward she angled her body slightly in the water looking at the Flurry sketches on the faded yellow page. What she witnessed there? Made her blood run hot in what was supposed to be a stone cold body, inhaling sharply as her eyes focused on the sheet almost as if she was going to destroy it. "He's alive." the words were seethed through her clenched teeth as she fought off the urge to simply snarl and fire a blast at the mere image of him. "Your mentor is lucky he didn't get caught as the cost would have been far more than his memories, that one would have taken his life." crawling up onto one of the objects floating around the chilled pool and relaxing against it, small barely visible scars were now obvious due to the light playing against water rolling off her. "The one observed is one of only a single pack I'm aware of and a handful of oddities like me." opening her mouth slightly she showed the fact that even now she had a few chipped fangs within her fangs, lifting a foot to show off the grooves etched into her claws by other claws. "Flurry who are willing to not only fight in the way most of our species can't, but to take it far as murder. Only, it's not that one's last resort but rather his first solution." the marks on her proved his theory and the lives she had taken also did that, but she wouldn't mention the later.
"I suppose I should give more explanation, the flurry drawn there is the first alpha I lived under. Over the years I made my way from his pack to my birth pack which than collectively fought to dissolve his pack, than to the peaceful one in this region were I became an alpha." easily she slipped back into the water diving under so she could flip over and rising up to float on her back with wings extended. The water was enjoyable as always. "In terms of me being the first, I'm actually not surprised as it was bound to happen eventually." most would consider it condescending to figure that they'd be the one to let the world know that their entire kind actually existed or something. However, with the way she lived it was just impossible she'd remain forever. "I actually have had numerous relationships with species outside of flurries, the lewd variety, though none of them remember me." she just couldn't let those memories remain in their head to protect her pack, but now it was just too much she had crashed in a public place and would die anyway. If everyone around her in each life had stayed the same than she never would have become a better creature, so maybe her changing just once could change things in a positive way for others.
