♦ CHARACTER INFORMATION ♦
Name: Caber-3
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, but is very much of the legal age
Occupation: Professional travelling Troublemaker
Mastery: N/A
Height: 1.79m (5.8ft)
Appearance:
Personality: Laid-back, carefree, down-to-earth and adventurous are among the best words to describe Caber-3. At times, he can seem as incredibly lazy, but he takes pride in his work, if one would call it that. He mostly and prefers to work alone, as a hired gun and a passing traveler who aids people along the way. Along that way he gathers Shards, weapons and other kinds of loot that he then stashes away, across the lands. Just in case. Caber's carefree attitude can irritate some people, though, even if it not his intention. Even in the tensest and most harrowing of situations, whether in a war-zone or on an adventure, Caber maintains his light-heartened, jokester attitude, but that doesn't stop him from performing his best in a battle. His strategies often involve his trusty hand cannon, grenades, plentiful explosions in order to create the perfect grand entrance a show of a lifetime for the ones who happen to cross his path. However, most of the time he ends up creating trouble for either himself or everybody else who are involved. The moment Caber's personality changes from the carefree one into a serious one, the situation is truly dire.
Among the things that Caber enjoys are eating ramen and drinking in bars, while retelling stories of his many adventures. He revels in the action and his own wanderlust that fuels his steps. Caber also just happens to be quite fond of chickens. Don't ask. He doesn't know. He also very much enjoys gambling, challenges and betting. It is his love for playing cards that is the source for putting the symbol for Spades on his belongings. On the other hand, Caber isn't a fan of people who stick to rules and have a proverbial stick up their arse. Not that he hates people who are like that, it's just that particular kind of people tend to have issues with his attitude.
History: Caber's recent memories are fine, but the older the memories get, the more jumbled up they get. Although he remembers a tiny scraps of his life from before he was turned into an Exo, he never shared them with anyone.
More to come.
♦ SPECIES INFORMATION ♦
Name of Species: Exo
Baseline Dimension: Being humanoid in shape, Exos are generally within the same dimensions as them. The average height is around 152cm to 180cm (5ft to 6 ft). The weight is dependent on what kind of metal alloy was used in the construction of the Exo, but again, it is generally around a regular human's weight, maybe a little bit more.
Baseline Appearance: They have humanoid shape - a head, torso, two arms and legs, you know the drill. The only difference is that they are machines. Despite the Exos being made of metal, their faces very much reflect their emotions, though most likely not as well as that of a regular human. Their eyes are bright and can be of practically any colour, though the colour variations tend to mimic that of the human spectrum. The inside of their jaw is lit aswell and the light can be seen through their lower jaw. The light is brighter when they talk and can be practically of any colour. When Exo's mouth is closed, the light inside of their jaw is off. Their bodies can also be painted with different colours, making every Exo unique in their own sense. On their bodies they can also have various oddities, such as spikes or antennae.
Culture/Origin of Species: Sentient machines with a mind of a human. The sentient part comes from an actual mind of a human or otherwise that had been extracted from its body and then placed into a body of a machine. The technology that was used to create them is unknown, nor the process itself. They remain a cipher to themselves, to seemingly never be resolved. While the true reason behind the idea of creating Exos is also unknown, individuals tend to claim that people who become Exos are afraid of death or maybe fell so much in debt that only such a decision could potentionally save them. However, their existence is not naturally sustainable. Exos suffer from a condition known as Dissociative Exomind Rejection (DER), a disorder that can be eventually fatal. The disorder is caused by the human mind rejecting its new body. Two methods have been discovered so far, that help with staving off the disorder. The first being a 'reboot'. A reboot erases the human mind's memories post-transfer so that it forgets its old body and better accept the new one. While this method helps initially, a reboot can be done multiple times over the course of time, should there be a need for it. Every time an Exo undergoes a reboot and resets their memories, number that is attached to their name (<name>-<number> formula) increases by one. Exo starts with a '-1' next to their name, as that signifies the very first reboot they undergo when transferring from flesh to metal. A reboot can be done manually by accessing a specific subroutine, now wired into their bodies that disables them for a while, until the reboot is complete. The second method was introduction of organic and familiar conceits, such as the drive to eat or reproduce. While they are not functionally necessary, they further reduce the chance of DER developing. However, there is one condition of DER that has no known cure - residual memories from past reboots. Reboot does wipe the mind's memories, but a lot of times certain memories bury themselves deep and even a memory wipe is not enough to get rid of them. This often results in Exos being haunted by their old memories, which they shouldn't remember in the first place. It is estimated that an Exo can handle about 20 or so reboots safely, before starting to experience memory and other mental issues.
Traits:
- Tireless - As Exos are primarily machines, they naturally do not tire easily and can keep going for extended periods of time. They passively gain +1 Stamina.
- Unyielding - Once more, tying to the fact they are machines, bodies of Exos are more resilient to damage. They passively gain +1 Resilience.
- Colour Party - While Exos cannot alter their base body, they can very much alter their colours and accessories all the time. They cannot really hide the fact that they are Exos, they can spice up their lives by changing themselves up, if they so desire.
- Night Vision - The eyes of Exos are equipped with special lenses that allow them to see better in dim or pitch black places.
Flaws:
- Dissociative Exomind Rejection (DER) - A disorder that is present with every Exo, which is based on unrest of a mind in a new body. Can be fatal. (detailed information above)
- Insomnia - Exos do need to recharge their energy, but the haunts of old memories make it incredibly tough to fall asleep. Insomnia's intensity is dependent on every Exo individually.
