welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

This human was exceedingly more difficult for her to read than others she'd met. He was telling her it wasn't her fault for his fear, and he apologized. Did this mean that he was afraid of something else? If so, what was it? Did he want to leave? What was keeping him from doing so?
Shifting on her hooves slightly, she thought for a moment. Then took a step backwards and lied down on the grass, folding her legs underneath her. She gazed at him calmly. "I am here in this forest because it reminds me of the home I left, and it is peaceful here. You might have a different reason for being here. But it seems to me that we each enjoy the quiet of this place. And I have interrupted that by approaching you. If you wish to leave, then I will not stop you. If you wish to stay and talk, however, I will welcome it."
It made no difference to her whether he stayed or left. She would welcome his company if he did indeed decide to stay, and if he did not that was okay as well. She thought that telling him straight up that he could leave was the best option. The boy was already skittish as a newborn fawn. There was no need to make matters worse.

Watching her bend down onto the ground near him only made him more uncomfortable. Fidgeting anxiously, he heard her begin to share how she was in the forest because it reminded her of home which she had left. 'I should ask her about it. She clearly misses it.' Zekigne ignored this thought of his. The woman continued, stating how he probably had a different reason for being here. 'To escape interaction and thus stopping the voices, but there's no way you'd know or understand that...' She continued and said how it seemed they both enjoyed the peace and quiet, and that she seems to have interrupted his. Zekigne looked down at the ground. 'I have to reassure her, make her feel-' Zekigne shut his eyes tight to block them out again. She then told him he could leave if he wanted to, or he could stay and talk. That she didn't mind either way.
Zekigne was shocked to be honest, and wasn't sure how to react. 'I should talk to her and see how I can help--I should pretend to walk away only to stab her in the back for her stupidity' Zekigne's fingers dug into his legs as the voices intensified, biting his lip as he did so. Please stop please stop please stop please stop please stop please stop please stop... He didn't move. He didn't speak. Instead, he ended up rocking back and forth a little as he sat, unable to make a decision. He was too afraid that if he made a decision, whichever path he chose would cause him to be consumed with one of his two natures....

Had Anarra had skin on her face instead of just a skull, she would have shown concern for the boy. He seemed to be incredibly indecisive, biting his lip and digging his fingers into his legs. His eyes were squeezed shut, and he was rocking back and forth as though he was struggling against something.
So it wasn't something physical that scared him, it seemed it was his mind. Perhaps he had a mental affliction of some sort. Because of this thought, she deemed that it would be dangerous to leave him alone. If something were to happen not only could the boy get hurt, but others could get hurt if he turned violent. Hesitating for a moment, the half-breed regrew back to her original size. This large, she could easily reach him from where he sat. Reaching over with her neck, she pressed her head against his shoulder, her face touching his. Pushing him so he was now leaning back against her, she used her holy fire to envelop both herself and the boy, providing him with a gentle heat that she hoped was comforting. The fire would not burn them, nor the environment around them.
"Breathe, human child." She said softly, nuzzling his hair with her muzzle. "I do not know what ails you, but do not let the demons of your mind control what you do. You are in control. Not me, not anyone else. You. Clear your mind. Focus on the nature around you. The running water, the birds singing overhead, the sun shining down on you. Clear your mind, and breathe."

Zekigne didn't notice her changing again until she touched him. He nearly freaked out when she moved him into a position where he leaned against her. His body went stiff when this happened, and then she began to speak. Coating him in a fire, that didn't hurt. He knew that it was holy in an instant. His demonic nature almost screamed, a sting in his mind from the reaction, causing him to flinch. However his angelic nature bloomed, and gained more influence over him. It was so strong it took all his strength not to jump into the air and start dancing with the strange being, which he used all of his strength not to do that.
When she mentioned the demons of his mind his eyes widened with horror. Did she know?! How did she know?! 'KILL HER, SLAUGHTER HER!!! I MUST END HER!!!' This time Oras groaned in addition to shutting his eyes, as the holy flames singed his mind, forcing the thoughts away. No... It was, impossible for her, to know. Maybe, she. Thought it was something else. She told him that he was in control, not the voices. She told him to clear his mind. To focus on the nature around him instead of the nature within him. He closed his eyes and started to breath. Heavily and rapid at first. But as he listened to the water.. The wind, the birds. He began to calm down.
As his breathing began to slow down, the exhaustion of fighting the two natures began to overtake him. Slowly, he began to become limp as he leaned against her. His eyes became heavy. Being overwhelmed by sheer fatigue. The fatigue of not only fighting his two natures all day, but also the fatigue of drowning in fear and anxiety day in and day out. Her soothing words. The rush of the water. Soon enough. Zekigne began to slip into sleep...

Anarra watched as the boy seemed to flinch at first to her actions. His eyes widened in horror for some reason, but then after a moment he slowly relaxed. She said nothing, staying silent as she watched and waited. Usually when she was tending to someone, her holy fire did the trick of calming them down. And it seemed to work this time as well.
Why he'd been frightened, she didn't know. Perhaps he thought she was going to harm him, which was the most likely case. But seeing him calm down made her internally breathe a sigh of relief. Soon the boy's eyes began closing, and after a few minutes more, had fallen asleep.
She watched as he slept, gently nuzzling his hair once again before laying her head on the ground. She curved around him like a mother deer would with their fawn. While normally she would fall asleep herself, as she knew nothing would harm her, with the boy there she stayed awake. She would keep watch while he slept, protecting him. Creatures may not want to harm her, but a young boy such as Zeke was a vulnerable target. And she would not allow anything to harm him.
Yes. Zeke would be safe while she was there. He could sleep peacefully today; that she would make sure of. And when he awoke again, he could travel back to the school, if that was what he wished.
