welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Another student appeared. Her name was also on the list. The class has officially started; she was a few minutes late and appeared to be flustered and worked up- probably was in a hurry to make it here, too. She was frustrated as it is so there was no need to upset her even more with unnecessary commentary or scolding. Since it was the first class and nothing major was happening yet Beatrix was more than willing to let it slide, but for future classes she will keep an eye on students' attendance.
"Good afternoon to you, miss Aspen. Please, feel free to join us." Beatrix greeted the young lady and offered her to join the class. Since the lady was late it was in order to briefly explain to her on what to expect. "We are learning bits about one another at the moment. I hope to learn more about each and every one of you! ♪ ♪ ♪ ". Beatrix said with a joyful tone and expression as she shortly explained it to the newcomer.
Before miss Aspen arrived Rika took the opportunity and talked a bit about himself. Beatrix patiently listened, but she was not writing anything down- she was seeing this as a casual conversation rather than something that needed to be written down. Rika seemed like a rather relaxed individual- he was giving off a friendly aura as far as Beatrix was concerned and she was happy to be working with him. "Thank you." She said with a melodic and grateful tone. "Any more volunteers? ♪ ♪ " She inquired.

In all his ancient wisdom, Kiran had made it a point to keep an open mind. Watching generations pass always offered new perspective, especially since some memories were lost in the rebirth process. Some aspects he repeated over and over either out of boredom or due to lost memories from a rebirth, sometimes school being one of them. He was hardly the same 'person' he'd been at the beginning and time marched on and brought many changes, good and bad. But being so old with so many memories was also a curse. This was hardly the class of warriors he'd been hoping for in the back of his mind. Young girls with pendants, bleeding bird boys with a bad attitudes, an apparently combat savvy servant...these were hardly the type of people he planned to match with. He was a bit arrogant, especially when it came to physical activities. It's where he excelled, but he'd at least hoped for a challenge. He wasn't so dumb as to completely count it out in this setting, but it did seem unlikely as of this moment. With a frown he resigned to a boring fate. He needed classes, so he didn't have the luxury of dropping due to disappointment alone.
"Kiran Jiang," the boy with the decorated skin said after a moment of silence. Apparently most others were still reluctant. "I'm a phoenix and my talent is Blessing of the Sun. Heat, fire, light..that kind of stuff," he finished, crossing his muscular arms over his chest.

Lavender remained still as the instructors gaze fell onto the necklace which had never done a single thing expect remain sealed around her neck. The only time it had ever done anything, which she didn't believe is when some people in the past had sworn it glowed sometimes when she was exerting herself or very competitive. While some glowing jewerly could be purchased? Her necklace was clearly nothing that special, in fact the metal was rather dull and the gems always seemed sleepy expect for the yellow ones surrounding the moon. She was certain the claims were just the light catching it quickly while she ran around and glinting it into people's faces. What else could ever explain that besides her explanation? Nothing that she knew of, so she didn't even bother to bring the glowing up.
Instructions were given and she smiled about that, eager to get her turn in following what had been requested of them. Once some others spoke? The teenager saw her opening and verbally jumped for it! "I expect to learn how to defend myself and better train my body for all the sports I partake in." To fight, someone had to be in great shape so a combat class was the perfect window to improve her already great physical stature, expect for her height, the twins were almost taller than her. "I like my family, and I dislike when people don't take their schooling seriously." like her big brother who would rather play his video games and mope over his ex than better himself, so pitiful. "I currently don't know what my Talent is." but she would figure that out eventually, the more things she learned the greater chance one was her Talent or related to it. "I did any combative female sports I could get involved with at my old school." but she had no real combat experience just making another girl tap out in wrestling and enjoying victory.
Someone had the nerve to be late! Her blue eyes cut to the side glaring at Aspen slightly as she scoffed staring him down. "I'd hope not, you being late doesn't only affect you." the whole class had to stop for a second because this one had to come in late, distracting them and taking away valuable learning time! Clearly, she had been serious about stating she disliked when school was not taken seriously.

Kaname heard the instructor bring up the subject of Talents. There was no avoiding the subject any longer. She would have to tell the class about her Talent. Thankfully she was not going to be called upon to demonstrate it... yet. She knew that the smarter students would already be working on figuring out ways to defeat the Talents of their classmates.
"I'm Kaname Hayamoto. I'm a Ghost/Human Hybrid. My Talent is Spectral Sword. As the name implies, it makes use of some staple ghost powers in combat." Kaname informed the class. She decided against showing off any of them because she wanted to keep the exact nature of her abilities secret. She especially wanted to keep Sword Control secret... it would be a trump card that she saved for getting out of tight spots. Her classmates would soon learn that the sword she carried was not an affectation she put on. Kaname would let them learn that harsh lesson in combat... it would be more fun that way.

Maid was quietly and patiently listening to her students' explanations of their powers and of their motivation to join the class. Some may have been unmotivated and perhaps already found the class to be lackluster, but that was not something that would stop this diligent instructor in fulfilling her duties. If some thought their previous combat experiences or their powerful Talents would allow them to slip past the challenges and straight into the best scores they were in for unpleasant surprise. Beatrix would modify her classes to fit everyone's pace which meant everyone would be challenged one way or another and they would have to work for that grade- even for bare minimum.
"Ah, a mystery then." Beatrix responded when Lavender said she yet did not know what her Talent was. There were both good and bad sides to that when it came to Beatrix's class- good thing was that combat training implied her giving instructions and help to students to realize best use for their Talents and even helping them discovering something they were yet to learn. Bad thing was that the class was not focused on helping students learn of their Talents- if they simply could not learn what it is through this training then they would simply complete the necessary training without Talents without having their grade negatively affected. One of the parts of the class was teaching students how to handle a situation where 'attacker's' Talent is a good counter to theirs or when they cannot use their Talent against attackers; for someone like Lavender that type of training would pay off. "Hmm... we can work with or around that. If you have spare time outside the school period I could try and help with the mystery of your Talent." Beatrix shortly offered her help. While she was not specialized in it her experience could come in handy considering her own Talent was revealed to her by her comrades in the organization. She could not find it herself and they extended their help to her.
"Any more volunteers?" Beatrix inquired one last time. Once she was out of volunteers she would head to the next stage of the class- explaining the mechanics, examination and grading of the class. Everyone was going to have a rough image of what they were expected to do.
