Valentine has an appearance like that of a human. His skin tone is like the applewood he frequently smells like, a sun-kissed brown. 

On his neck is a hollowed Sapphire necklace that is his primary lamp.


Personality: Valentine is a charismatic individual with a kind nature. Being raised as a leader he tends to protect and guide the people he cares about. Finding betrayal to be one of the worst possible sins a person can commit. Valentine is not one to dwell on the origins of a person. Instead, he finds value in how a person treats others. Valentine would make friends with a demon just so it would not have to eat lunch alone (assuming it is not trying to kill him).

His nature is partially secretive. He wants to keep his djinn heritage a secret, only using it if necessary. As it keeps other beings from trying to catch him for wishes. Not to say that he is entirely untrusting, like all good djinn he will not hesitate to grant a wish as a form of reward. He just avoids using his djinn powers in front of others. Disguising his abilities as regular magic.

History: Valentine was born in Hisakawa into a prominent merchant family. His father was a fairy and his mother was a powerful djinn princess from the Marid tribe. To keep the tribe from being annihilated by the loss of territory she married his father. Luckily she managed to fall in love with him after all. Later on, his older brother was born and shortly after Valentine followed.

Growing up Valentine had it easy. His parents were loaded and as the younger son, he never had to worry about business matters like his older brothers. Valentine was content on passing his days away lazily. He developed a crush on his best friend and was convinced to travel to Mistere. Their purpose was to learn and develop and become teachers back in Hisakawa. It would help to further the academy in Kogane no Toshi. He often travels back and forth between the school and his home to help his family.



Name of Species: Djinn/Fairy

Baseline Dimension: Djinn are beings made from flameless smoke but as a half fairy. Valentine looks petite but his height is taller than normal fairies.

Baseline Appearance: Djinn prefer to appear in the form of dark-skinned humans, with animal features. While they are capable of taking other shapes and forms the majority stick to one specific look.

Culture/Origin of Species: As a half breed Valentine has two cultures mixed inside of him. An ancient species Djinn have been around since the dawn of creation. The keeper of wishes and dreams. Djinn have been making wishes come true as far back as their history go. Djinn came into being when creatures first learned to think. They are born like regular humans and grow old, albeit at a slower rate. While djinn die from granting too many wishes. A djinn gains more magic and a sense of euphoria when granting a wish. Djinn are generally divided into 6 clans 3 good and 3 evil.

The Jinn, the Jann, and the Marid are the three good clans. They guard over the good wishes and joys in the universe. The Ifrit, the Ghul, and Shaitan are the evil tribes. They bend wishes and hopes to the darkest that can be done. It has been said that the three evil tribes were the original cause of demons.

The Fae, Pixies, Erlking, all these fall under one species; Fairies. These are magical creatures with generally human appearances and magical powers. They're mischievous by nature and love to trick people, especially humans. With few exceptions, fairies tend to live inside huge trees in Elmfig Forest, the gathering place for the courts, or any other forest nearby with trees large enough. Students that go to Eldritch Academy might have some adjusting to do to life in the dorms.

The general culture for all fairies is very nature-centric. Nature is their religion. It is very rare and frowned upon for any fairy to eat meat since animals are friends. Like most species, there is the good and the bad. King Dune Oberon is the head of the Seelie court, comprised of like minded benevolent fairy folk who favor peace but won't hesitate to defend and protect their interests. The Unseelie court is ruled by Queen Camellia Novus, whose views and subjects are far more militaristic and volatile. The drastic differences between the Seelie and Unseelie are so obvious, primarily since they have fought each other in the past, people around Mistere tend to call them Light and Dark fairies.

Native to Mistere even before the Ancient War, all fairies are loyal to their land and forests, making them all the more agitated that these resources are dwindling in light of modernization, expansion, and technology. King Oberon has a seat in Mistere's Congress, giving a passionate voice in favor of conservation and environmentalism. It's one of the few things he and Queen Novus agree on.


Traits:
• Bigger on the inside: Djinn can create spaces that they can control. The area has to be inside a container no larger than a baseball. Djinn commonly used the created space as a room. Depending on how powerful they are, a djinn could even create a country inside the space of a hollow pendant. The laws inside a given room can be different based on how the djinn created it. A trait he inherited from his mother.
• Smoke Teleportation: Djinn can turn themselves, objects, and willing beings into smoke at will to move between spaces and realms. Djinn use this to travel between lamps and even dreams.
• Wish Granting: A power that all djinn have and try to avoid using. In exchange for some of their life force, a djinn has the power to grant wishes. As a half-blood Valentine is unable to grant complex wishes.
• Woodland Tongue: Animals generally love fairy folk. Communication with animals is frequent and often beneficial for favors.
• Magic Tricks: Fairies are adept at all sorts of magic, earning them a +3 in stamina.


Flaws:
• A djinn always has a strong smell of smoke on them. Depending on the djinn their specific smell can be anything from a flavorful woodsmoke to a pile of burning garbage. Valentine smells like applewood smoke.
• Lamps: Like all djinn Valentine has a primary lamp that keeps the majority of his essence. If the lamp breaks he goes into a coma for a month.
• Wisp: His petite body is not very physically strong, so he takes a -1 to strength.
