"But I'm f-freezing..." he chattered, though her tone spurred movement. He slowly sat up and pulled most of his body from the warmth, using the table and his elbows to keep his head up. Somehow he managed to slide the cup of tea closer to him, enough for him to pick it up and take a sip. "I'm sorry to trouble you again," he apologized softly for the umpteenth time. Here he was, sick as a dog because he'd done the very thing Nai had warned him about several times. It wasn't her fault at all. He was entirely to blame for most of his troublesome circumstances lately, but it was like he couldn't help himself. He just had to screw up over and over again. It was all his frenzied brain knew how to do. If only he could get a handle on his trauma, maybe he'd be less of a self-destructive mess that hurt one of the very few people who seemed to care for him.
Fang sighed, which bought on a fit of ashy coughs and a sniffle. Either way, he'd manage to speak again. "I'll pay you back someday...whatever you need," babbled the ailing young man, dropping his bloodshot eyes from Nai to the bowl of water she brought. "What's that for?" he asked, resting his cheek weakly on the table top next to his teacup.

“Yes….. Yes I know your cold… but your burning up we need to lower your fever…” Kurenai softly countered Fang’s subtle complains. He was like a child that needed constant supervision in case he does something he shouldn’t. The sort of child a baby sister would be wary to turn their backs to for fear they’ll take advantage of the split second they move their eyes away. She hadn’t been gone for a few moments and already Fang moved from the couch towards a place he shouldn’t be going near too.
The worse part for Kurenai is that she didn’t blame him. The moment he said he was cold… it rang immediately in her head. Cold flashes. The answer nearly froze the girl’s nerves, dropping it straight into the pit known as her stomach. If he was having cold flashes then she was damn sure his fever wasn’t going down. Its doing the opposite, it was rising. “Oh Fang…” She sighed in mild exasperation. The exasperation hid itself into a layer of her tone. Nearly unnoticeable unless they were specifically looking for it. The stern expression on her face hardly moved before she gently helped the boy from the kotatsu he was hiding in, and into the couch he previously occupied.
“I’ll get you a blanket… are you sure you don’t want to move to the bed?” She asked, worried lingering in her tone as she shook the boy’s pitiful apology. She didn’t mind, she was used to taking care of children, though it hardly felt right to call a 500+ year old bird a ‘child’. If he was going to act like one though then she might as well give him the title.
“Hold on…” The child’s frown lingered. Creasing her lips as she departed from his side. Her mouth pursed thoughtfully as the child moved to the closet inside the living area. There should be a spare blanket hidden somewhere around… she saw it the second she opened the cabinet. There on top the shelf, at the bottom of a pile of neatly folded bed clothes. She found the fleece blanket she recently bought. It wasn’t heavy, more on the light side if anything but it was soft, it didn’t look warm at all but looks can be deceiving. The fleece inside the blanket acted as a trap of sorts, trapping the heat inside to act as a natural heater. Its light enough for Fang to use, and his heat can act as a warmer he needed to fight off his chills. Reluctantly she reached to grab it.
Gently, ever so gently prying it out from the bottom stack. Once she freed it, she headed back to Fang’s side. “Here…” She said, wrapping the snow white blanket around him. “That should help, as well as the soup… As for the basin..” She paused, finally acknowledging his question. “It’s to help your fever.” She explained.

"Oh..." he said dumbly, sitting in a slumped way like his body was so heavy he couldn't possibly continue to support it. He did snuggle in the blanket she brought, finding a bit of comfort in it. Leaning forward, he managed to slowly eat the soup she'd fixed him. The warm liquid did help the shivers a bit, but ultimately he was just feeling too bad to quite finish it. At least he'd managed to eat most of it. With a soft groan, Fang somehow managed to get to his feet, shambling into the bedroom. "I'm...gonna go lay down.." he muttered, barely making it to his bed before he collapsed heavily down on it, still cocooned in his blanket and making no moves to rectify his position. He groaned again, feeling the room starting to spin and rock as if he was on a boat.
"Uuggghhh....Molting..." whined the red-head, his voice muffled by his bed's duvet. More ashy coughs. At least he only had to wait a few days before he'd be back to normal, though he didn't know what his normal was anymore. He didn't know anything anymore. His body quaked inside the blanket roll, and though he felt so sick, he still seemed to resist the sleep that wanted to take him. Perhaps it was because he knew what he'd see when he closed his eyes, and somehow laying and suffering his fever was an improvement over what awaited him in the land of dreams.
