Name of Talent: Unnatural Phenomenon
Concept: Unnatural Phenomenon is a talent Erika was born with, though it manifested itself as something different in the previous world. The capacity to perceive the world differently lead to Erika manipulating the spaces around her to grow stronger and discover what others hidden powers lay within. These powers include, the ability to distort reality and open portals to other dimensions or locations in the current reality, creating clones of herself and transferring her consciousness into them, being able to read another’s reality and acquire copies of their memories, and changing her form to match others in almost every way. Such gifts weren’t viewed as a burden and instead were abused for most of her life, only after she discovered what it meant to have something to protect instead of conquering, did Erika become stronger and truly responsible with her abilities. Her current growth is restoring her born fragile body to a more normal state for those enhanced with powerful energies, and to cross over into new universes, though the last bit still almost killed her to do so she isn’t too keen to do it again.
Extra(s): Erika perceives reality in a different way than others, letting her recognize situations and potential outcomes easier. She mostly uses this to simply pretend to be far smarter and to show her ‘genius’ in how she calculated the outcomes, when all she does is just cheat using her inherent abilities.
Positive Mechanics:
• The first of Erika’s formidable talents is her ability to alter the reality around her. Bending it from natural laws to unnatural laws and everything in between. Capable of creating nearly anything her imagination can think of, Erika’s power is technically limitless, though being too rash with her power can lead to consequences that won’t be pretty, such as making an area impossible to live in and she becomes too tired to fix it, etc.
• With her capacity to bend reality to her whim, Erika can gaze into another’s reality with direct contact, allowing her to learn their memories, potentially, in an instant. It isn’t always perfect and sometimes she only gains a few memories and somehow in this universe, it sometimes fails and she can’t gather anything from another.
• Due to the influence of this world’s energies upon Erika’s “native” form her body has lost most of its fragility and weakness physically. As such, she can empower her body to break the bonds of reality, giving her effective melee attacks for once.
• When Challenged directly Erika can condense her energy and unleash a roar that pierces through the dimensions towards her enemies, leaving a trail of shattered reality in its wake. She effectively fires a giant laser beam at the enemy.
• Fluctuating her place in Reality Erika can multiply herself, creating clones which are under her direct control and all mentally linked to her. These clones can use all the same abilities as Erika, though they don’t have much health and are easy to vanquish; Effectively, one solid offensive hit puts them down.
• In the same vein of her creating the clones, Erika can also transfer her consciousness to these clones should she be in danger. This changes the clone to her main body, meaning it gains all her current status and status afflictions are carried with her.
• One of the main reasons why Erika even reached this world in the first place. Erika possess the capacity to create portals in reality around her without much effort. These portals can be elsewhere in the current reality or to another dimension or universe, though she requires intense concentration and usage of power for going to another universe, and concentration for going to another dimension.
• Bending reality to change in a destructive method isn’t all Erika can do, she can also restore reality to its previous state. This is easily done to many atmospheres around her but doing it to others or sentient objects with a more concrete presence is difficult and doesn’t always work even for her.
• For many changing their forms is easy, for Erika is child play. Erika can easily change into others forms and even original appearance in a flash, though unlike others she can perfectly replicate anything about their reality, such as the feeling of their energy, their appearance, how they walk etc.) so long as she has at least been around the person for a decent amount of time. Naturally it’s helpful if she has their memories as well, but since her shape changing is based off the perception and alteration of reality, very few can tell her form from the original should they have superficial knowledge.
• Erika can alter her reality to increase her Vitality, temporarily, by 1. This can only be used every other round.
• Erika can alter her reality to increase her Strength, temporarily, by 1.
• Erika can alter her reality to increase her Speed, temporarily, by 1.
• Erika can alter her reality to increase her Resilience, temporarily, by 1.
• Erika can alter her reality to increase her Stamina, temporarily, by 1. This can only be used every other round.
Negative Mechanics:
• Despite sounding nigh impossible to defeat or completely omnipotent Erika’s power isn’t limitless. She can’t delete a concrete existence only cause indirect causes of death via battle.
• In regard to her reality manipulation, Erika can’t apply her power directly to other sentient beings, nor what they produce (projectiles, aura’s etc.) or use (Any equipment with an approved profile for example), as it’s hard to directly interfere with a more aware reality, but non-important (aka profile) items are easily affected. She also can’t make anything infinite, such as a distance between points, etc. though she can easily double or triple such instances, of course doing so would require her to use more power and energy, making it stronger but more draining.
• Despite being able to replicate someone else flawlessly, there is one aspect that she can’t erase, her own personality. While a great actress in her own right, those who are close might notice something off if they are perceptive enough, such as tiny habits that are hard to mimic even with all their memories and body as it’s not fully them but Erika doing a very convincing act of them.
• Despite being able to make clones of herself, it is nearly impossible for her to make clone bodies for others unless they also have a sense of unnatural law about them, since the soul and body to her powers are connected intimately, making it hard to bring someone back since it’s not technically their original body.
• In regard to her capacity to shape shift into others, the amount of time required isn’t measurable, as she could acquire memories and know how they would physically act, potentially, easily. It could take potentially days to learn their patterns or she could get what she needs after seeing them for five minutes, it’s about the narrative flow and the actions they take while in her presence. Beyond this there is a major flaw with her capacity to shape shift one which she can’t act her way through without being extremely clever and lucky. Erika can’t copy another’s talents or species abilities that aren’t genetic and even then, unless it’s absolutely vital for the species she can’t copy them beyond the appearance. So while everything might seem normal to those around her while she’s shape shifted, should the need to exercise the talent be required and she can’t pull it off the way the individual would through her own abilities or one could tell the difference, she’d be in trouble.
