welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The city could be truly beautiful sometimes and it was amazing to be able to enjoy it without anyone accompanying her, well expect Drago several dozen feet behind at all times, but she was used to having a dragon shadow. Nyx couldn't fault her handler for doing his job, the man got paid for it after-all, it wasn't his fault the world was bigoted enough to believe her dangerous. Laughing the child looking female ran down the ledge of several planter boxes stationed at the edge of the sidewalk down this particularly city street, both ignorantly and willfully naïve regarding how accurate it actually was for someone to consider her dangerous.
"Hey Watch It Kid!" she lost her footing on the ledge, tripping and feeling gravity slip out from beneath her for a split second. Briefly? It almost seemed as if a mother walking with her own child was lunging forward to catch the winged girl, but a second before she would have caught the white haired 'child' the woman froze. Nyx felt her body collide with the ground, instantly aware of the blood leaking from several scratches the fall inflicted. "Are you al-" the cat eared little one attempted to rush forward ahead of her mother to see if the other 'child' was alright. In a split second? The mother had the cat eared toddler snatched up in her arms. "Don't Get Near That Sweetie! Come on we have to drop you at daycare." the woman looked terrified even though Nyx appeared young, quickly fleeing with her child.
For several moments, Nyx remained down on the ground, pushing herself up only to grip her own slightly bloodied knee's. It was not that she had not become well adjusted to people knowing what she was and treating her differently for it, after-all her kind had a reputation at the end of the day and had not been a realized species for long only a few decades. "Ouch." the scratches actually really stung but at least they'd heal quickly, for the moment Nyx chose to remain on the ground with her back against one of the platter boxes she had been running along, not wanting to make herself bleed more by moving lest she decide to draw more blood from herself. "I guess there goes part of my day." she laughed slightly, leaning her head back to look at the flowers behind her head, large horns poking into the bush and as if luck was against her, got caught in the bush. "F***!" at this point she just started trashing slightly trying to dislodge her horn from between two branches.

During this time young priestess stood at the edge of the sidewalk just around the corner, her lips pressed into a thin line and amber eyes narrowed as she looked from the small piece of paper she held in her hands to the various numbers across the house's doors.[break] "No... No... Not this one... Oh come on, where could 405 be? These house numbers don't make any sense." The girl huffed to herself, annoyed by how these houses were numbered so randomly. 410 was just across from her, but then i went straight to 450 on the other side. It just didn't make sense. She was pretty bad at math, but she at least knew 450 was far from 410 on the number line. Of course, it was also partially due to her horrid sense of directions, but it's not like she was going to actually admit that.[break] Astrid continued along the street, looking up and down at the paper with each passing house. You'd think after staying here for two weeks she'd at least know the area around the chapel, but you'd be wrong. The daft girl wouldn't even be able to find her way out of a shredded paper bag.[break][break]
It was a little into her stroll that the sound of struggling caught her ear. Astrid stopped just in time before she accidentally stepped on a young child upon the ground. The silvernette blinked, like she couldn't exactly explain what she was seeing. The young girl had seemed to have gotten stuck in one of the bushes. Well, more precisely her horns had gotten stuck, and she was struggling to get them out. Normally someone would have probably ignored this issue... But Astrid wasn't exactly just anyone.[break] "Oh, my... Here, i-i'll help you!" The priest shoved the paper into her pocket before bending down slightly and reaching inside of the bush. Fussing around until she got a grip on what she assumed to be the two branches giving the child trouble she gritted her teeth and pushed them apart from each other so she could easily slide them out. Though, the branches were a bit too strong to be moved by normal means. After a moment of struggling with no progress the priest used her talent in order to give her a bit of an edge. Channeling her aura into her arms they began to softly glow red, pulsating with a newfound energy before the branches finally gave way and opened a good amount, just enough for the girl to remove her horns.

The voice of someone besides herself broke through her own struggle to free large horns from their floral snare, which instantly caught her attention since it was abnormal for a strangers voice to interrupt such things. On average when someone saw a Blood Devil in anything that looked near being upset wise men stayed their distance due to bloody reputation of the breed. Though, she had found many in this town were not exactly average when it came right down to it, several people fundamentally able to overlook such minor details, at least many more than she had prior believed penned up by Askel indoors.
Nyx stilled when the other girl attempted to begin aiding her, as the little devil knew her body could prove dangerous who was not knowledgeable enough to be cautious of the specialized functions of things like her horns. In silence she feared that perhaps the woman attempting to help out would end up cut on her sharp and rough horns. Out of fear, the second her horns felt the lessening of contact she tucked her knee's beneath her and rolled to pull them out, using her hands to push herself up into the air so flapping her wings allowed her to finish the motion by landing on a nearby garden wall with her toes barely touching it. "Are you alright?" briefly she ran her hands along the sharp horns and steeled herself to look at her palms afterward, sighing in relief when no blood was present. "Uh- Thanks.. If you hadn't help I don't know how long it would have taken me to get free myself or wait for someone else willing to help me." tucking her wings back in the girls tail lashed to the side as she jumped down from the garden wall, walking on her tip toes briefly, wide blue eyes seeming to inspect the other as if unsure what to make of her.
Glancing down at herself the girl finally brushed the dirt form herself, moving her fingers to manipulate away the blood which had spilled from her scratches before they clotted. "I'm Nyx." offering a small smile she extended her hand in greeting to the other girl.

Just as quickly as the priest had helped her, the girl lunged back, quite literally springing into action. As soon as she did Astrid let go of the two branches, the bush snapping back into its regular form with a loud cracking sound. The sibyl removed her hands from the bush, the red glowing fading within a mere few seconds, the strength once again subsiding.[break] Turning around the young girl would be using her wings to float a little above one of the garden falls. Thankfully, after a brief look over her horns there seemed to be no damages, allowing the priestess to let out a small sigh of relief. Though she had no horns and had no idea what they meant to the creatures that adorned them she could imagine they took great pride in them, and they would be rather heartbroken if they scratched or were chipped in any way. No little girl tears today. Crisis averted.[break][break]
The white haired child asked if she was alright, and thanked her for her help. Was she alright? Well she wasn't exactly the one who had her head stuck in a bush... Astird's head tilted in confusion before she gave a warm smile, almost laughing at the question. "Yes, i'm quite alright, and no need for thanks. To help one's neighbors is to help yourself." It was one of Minako's teachings. To help others meant that one day you will be helped in some way. It might go over a child's head, but if not it was a good lesson for them to learn regardless.[break] The girl's name was Nyx, apparently. The horned girl shoved her hand forward in greeting. Astrid returned the greeting, now that they were on the same level of eye contact. "I'm Astrid, it's a pleasure to meet you, Nyx." Then like a bolt of lightning, it hit her. Oh... Right... her original purpose for being over this way. ".. O-Oh!" Astrid stared with wide eyes for a brief moment before she reached into her pocket and pulled out the piece of paper, turning it over so Nyx could see the address. "You wouldn't happen to know where 405 is, would you? I've been trying to look for a while now but the doors are all labeled strangely..." A little bit of red shaded her face, scratching her cheek nervously, embarrassed she had to end up asking a child to do half of her errand for her.

Large blue optics stared innocently at the woman as elfin ears twitched slightly listening carefully to what was being spoken towards her. Truly, even by the devil's standards this encounter was becoming exceptionally odd. It was one thing for someone help her, but another completely for them to behave as if it was the same as helping some human child, as if she wasn't from a dangerous species. Than, the fact this girl was seemingly religious and still chose to help was like someone slapping her in the face, taking all the wind from the devil. Even if her kind actually were not anything biologically unholy? Nyx was beyond used to seeing religious organizations consider them unholy beasts due to the sheer intensity of their bloodlust. Honestly, it was almost starting to seem like this woman didn't have the feintest clue what she was, but that would be ridiculous since they were a relatively new recognized species and one that was a topic of debate among many people, there was no way someone involved in a religious gathering had not heard. Oh, how wrong she was.
Astrid was looking for something, a location within the general neighborhood they both stood in. "I'm actually really talented at finding people, things, or locations!" she giggled slightly at her own pun, since it was her talent that she used in order to be skilled at such things. Realizing she could do something in return for someone who had helped her actually felt good in a way that wasn't corrupted by those feelings she couldn't explain. "Do you know anything about the house? Like the sort of people who live there, anything. Several oddly numbered streets intersect around here, so I don't want to accidently take you to the wrong 405." Hopefully it was some sort of religious location or such as that would be exceptionally easy to track down, allow her to use intention sensing alongside her other sensory abilities to zone in on it within moments.
