♦ CHARACTER INFORMATION ♦
Name:Mordred Iscariot
Gender:Male
Age:977
Occupation: Gang Boss
Mastery: Guardian
Height:190 cm
Appearance:
Personality:
Lazy: Given the opportunity Mordred would relax and do absolutely nothing at all. After spending his entire mortal life training endlessly for a single goal only to abandon it in the end left the knight with very little motivation left for other things. If he doesn’t find himself enjoying something and it isn’t something his responsibilities don’t urgently require him to complete than he simply won’t do it. This behavior also leads him to take the laziest path to solving a problem, which sometimes leads to even more problems in the future.
Protective: He is extremely protective of the people he cares about, especially when he considers them to be apart of his family. As a result he can fall into a bloodlust filled rage when he figures out someone he cares for has been hurt and if they are killed he is likely to go on a murder spree until he believes they have been avenged.
High Class: Being raised by nobles hundreds of years ago and being sired by an eccentric vampire with high class tastes has left its marks on Mordred. He prefers to wear formal or fancy clothing, owning luxury goods, and has a horrible habits of enforcing etiquette rules on almost everyone around him especially if he is their sire. Looking disheveled, having messy hair, and other things that would make someone unpresentable drive him mad and he is very likely to try to correct it.
Honorable: While he abandon his honor long ago Mordred is working on regaining it and as such holds himself to the same code he followed when he was a knight. He won’t attack someone who’s unarmed nor will he attack people needlessly or in a way that could be considered dishonorable. This makes Mordred particularlly bad at any mission that requires fighting stealthy since he won’t fight someone unless it is in self defense or first stating a formal challenge to them. He will also find himself at a disadvantage in a fight where his opponent is using dirty tactics since he’ll refuse to use the same tactics.
Warrior: Mordred has a love for a good fight and the thrill it gives him. He has the heart of a warrior and won’t ever deny the fact that he enjoys it when his life it point on the line in combat.
History:
Mordred was born in a tumultous age of violence and warfare to a noble family of a kingdom that no longer exists. He had never met his father and his mother refused to talk about him to anyone, which result in people wondering if the boy even had the right to inherit his family’s status. As a result of this Mordred found himself constantly trying to prove himself to the people around him at an early age. To prove that he belonged to the nobility and wasn’t just someone they could throw out without any cost. This pressure followed him throughout his life leaving him with a constant need to show the people around him his worth.
He trained daily and rigourously to become someone who would be useful to the kingdom and its king. Mordred trained to use a variety of different weapons from ranged to close combat but at the end of the day he found himself favoring the art of the sword above all the others. All of this with a singular goal in mind. To become a perfect soldier bound by honor. To become the ideal knight.
Eventually after years of training and experience on the battlefield Mordred managed to earn himself a reputation as a fierce but honorable warrior. Just as the young soldier had hoped he had caught the interest of the king who called him to his court. At the court Mordred was invited to join an order of knights that would work alongside the king and the aspiring noble accepted without hesitation. After all the years of training and combat he had finally achieved his goal of proving himself and gaining a position alongside the ruler he admired above all others.
Unfortunately, the joy Mordred felt in that moment would not last forever and while he served the king faithfully for many years he eventually became disenchanted by the things he had seen during this time. Abandoning everything he had worked for Mordred rose up in rebellion against the king causing the nation to break into a number of different factions. All over the nation these different groups collided and battles raged throughout its territories. This chaos continued until eventually Mordred and the king met each other on the battlefield.
In the ensuing fight the treacherous knight was cut down and left for dead. After rebelling against his king and losing in combat Mordred had come to accept his fate. He was prepared to accept his death and would’ve passed on if it hadn’t been for the interference of certain individual who had shown up on the battlefield that day. A vampiric noble that had come across Mordred as he laid on the ground barely holding on to life. Pitying the dying knight she decided to turn him before he expired.
On that day the rebellious knight was reborn as a vampire. He faithfully served under his sire and with her guidance he eventually returned to the path of honor he had abandon during his rebellion. At the same time, however, he also ended up unintentionally adopting some of his sire’s more eccentric behaviors. After a few centuries the vampiric knight decided to go off on his own, gathered a number of other vampires to his side, and with them founded an organization designed to protect themselves from hunters and starvation.
As the years went by Mordred ended up siring a few vampires of his own and brought them into the fold of the organization. He came to view the members of the organization as his family, even the ones that he hadn’t sired. This led to Mordred picking fights with many vampire hunter in order to defend his “family” resulting in him receiving a large number of injuries that forced him to enter into long periods of sleep.
It was during one of these periods of sleep that a vampire hunter killed a girl Mordred had sired and in order to defend themself from this hunter the gang woke him up. Upon hearing about what had happened to the girl he had turned the vampire knight fell into an unholy rage. In this rage he found the spot where the hunter lived with the intent to kill him and his entire family but only found his son when he got there. Restraining his rage Mordred settled for turning the hunter’s son and this seemingly brought an end to the raid the hunter had planned against the gang. With that settled Mordred decided to returning to running his section of the gang now that he was awake.
♦ SPECIES INFORMATION ♦
Vampire, Cursed Variant
Name of Species: Vampires- Cursed Variant
Baseline Dimension: Vampires share their height range largely with humans ranging typically from 5-7 feet tall. Weight is less for Vampires averaging between 80-120lbs due to their blood diet.
Baseline Appearance: Vampires resemble humans in many appearance regards, possessing many of the same hair and eye colors. However, the Vampire species is deathly pale in comparsion to humans. They have elongated retractable fangs, and can sometimes have bat wings or devilish tails.
Culture/Origin of Species: This variant of vampires was created because a man tried to take what did not belong to him.
There was a man named Ambrogio who once came to a great city to seek fortune and fame. Upon reaching this city he visited the temple of Apollo to get a reading from a talented oracle there. The reading he got was this, "The curse. The moon. The blood will run." It disturbed him to no end, and he spent the night near by as he mused over it. It was because of this that he met Selene, sister of the oracle and follower of Apollo. They would meet every day at dawn, falling more and more in love until one day he decided he was going to ask her to come with him to his home town where they could be wed. The god Apollo was enraged that Ambrogio would try and steal one of his maidens, and thus cursed him to burn in the sunlight so the two lovers could not meet.
Fearful for his life, he ran to the dark of the caves and plead Hades for help. The god of the afterlife said he would help, but only if he could steal Artemis' silver bow for him. He gave Ambrogio a magical bow with 11 arrows to hunt down an offering to give to Artemis to gain her favor and make it easier to steal the bow. Hades took Ambrogio's soul as a down payment in this. In the end Ambrogio wasted the arrows given to him by killing 11 swans with them and using their blood to write love poems to his love, Selene.
He managed to steal the bow anyways, but Artemis realized who had done it and cursed him so that silver would burn him. This forced him to drop the bow and be unable to deliver it to Hades. Now having two curses on him, that against sunlight, and now against silver, he turned around and begged for mercy from Artemis. He told the whole story of his plight, and in pity of him, she granted him immortality, and gave him the strength and speed of a mighty hunter, and fangs to continue writing poetry for his love Selene. In return he was to dedicate his life to her. And like the virgin goddess she herself was, he was to never consumate his love with Selene.
The two ran away together, and Ambrogio was faithful to his claims to Artemis until Selene's dying days. Upon which he slew a swan and put it up as an offering to Artemis. The goddess was pleased to his dedication, and told the man to drink of his love's blood. This would kill her body, but keep her with him always. Because he had given his soul to Hades, they would not be able to spend the afterlife together. In this way, Artemis told them, they would be together forever. After this was done Artemis elevated Selene to become goddess of moonlight, where she could shine down upon her love and their children, vampires created from their mixed blood.
Traits: List of traits for the species. These are inherent positive quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must also have 1 flaw. Baseline Appearance: Vampires resemble humans in many appearance regards, possessing many of the same hair and eye colors. However, the Vampire species is deathly pale in comparsion to humans. • In order to turn into a humanoid into a vampire, it requires first draining their blood and then feeding them vampiric blood back to them. Theoretically the first step could be skipped. However it would involve a much slower and more painful death. With the additional possibility that, without a weakened immune system due to lack of blood loss, that they might actually survive and become resistant to future attempts to convert them. Its really not recommended to take a short cut that ends up taking longer anyways.
• Compared to other species, Vampires can go a very long time without consuming anything even blood due to already being dead the little metabolism being undead gives them is extremely slow, burning food slower than snakes. Doing things that require high levels of energy such as powerful talents or using one's healing factor will of course hasten when a vampire has to feed next.
• Vampires are capable of utilizing bats in whatever ways they desire, communication, minions, etc.
• Vampires are capable of flight outright or transforming into a bat in order to fly if it so pleases.
• Short of being staked in the heart, bitten by a were-creature, fed garlic or too many other plants, they are immortal falling unconscious instead of dying if damaged to the point of death.
• To an extent all Vampires are capable of 'hypnotizing' other species whom stare into their eyes for too long, these subjects remain hypnotized until released or separated from the vampire for over a day.(Permission is needed on Played Characters, and any important NPC's)
• Able to limitedly manipulate blood when it's outside of someone's body, mostly into shapes or such.
• Vampires are immortal, and do not age. Given this it is usually frowned upon to turn those who are too young into vampires, as they will be stuck that age forever.
• Originating from Italy, this is a variant of Italy that actually isn't allergic to garlic or plants. They actually chew on plants to wear down their continuously regenerating teeth. Eating plants does not actually provide nutritional supplementation however, and eating too much more gives them a bad case of indigestion than anything.
• Soul based magics are ineffectual against them, as they do not have souls. This has led many people to think that this variant of vampire is immoral and cruel. However, as can be seen from the story of Ambrogio, not having a soul does not mean they don't have a heart. Emotional/psychological type spells that attack the mind are still able to effect them. Melee damage of the spell hitting will still harm them.
• They do not show up in pictures or cameras, this is pretty handy when trying to get away with crimes. An unseen villain in the all seeing world.
• Healing factor- given enough blood, they can heal any wound that does not kill them.
• Parental Controls- Vampires who have sired other vampires can control their "offspring" by verbal command. So long as they are within hearing distance, the "child" will follow any command given. Once out of it, they will be freed once they complete their orders. Must have OOC permission to use on PC's.
• After they die they turn into ash.
• +2 to strength due to Artemis' blessing
• +1 to speed due to Artemis' blessing
• Artemis and other moon related deities are the only holy relics vampires are not adversely affected by.
• A temp -1 to the vitality of the enemy if they can manage to suck their blood for a post.
Flaws: List of flaws for the species. These are inherent negative quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must have 1 flaw.
• Vampires tend to avoid Weres because the bite of any Werecreature is a deathly poison to Vampires.
• The species is rather easy to identify if someone knows the fact they possess no reflections, which also means it's hard for them to hide what they are in many day to day situations unless they're careful. Nor do they show up in photographs or film, which can be a pain considering this is a day and age of countless selfies goddamn it.
• Weak to silver
• Weak to holy spells and relics.
• They will burn in the sunlight.
• Deadman's blood is toxic to them.
• Weak to phoenix fire and sun-related light spells. Light spells that are not calling upon the light and energy of the sun have no effect.
• Due to their lack of a soul, when they die that is the complete end for them. There is no afterlife for this species of vampire.
• This species is able to be controlled by their sire. (Must have OOC permission to use on PCs)
• They have to be invited into a house to enter. Once this invitation is given it remains eternal and cannot be revoked without specific rituals.
• Due to their slow metabolisms, any substance consumed or injected they are affected by lasts at least 10x longer than it would on a normal person.
• If they neglect feeding for too long, they enter a feeding frenzy where they try and sate themselves. Heedless of who they might hurt. Reaching this state takes at least three solid weeks of not drinking a drop.
