welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

They were driven to The Blood’s hideout, a large estate surrounded by stone walls and with sprawling amounts of land before they even got to the actual building. There were awnings outside to provide additional shade should the vampires need or want to go outside the premises during the day without issue.
They arrived within easy walking distance of a grandiose door. The whole thing smelled of obscene wealth.
Normally Ozaki would try for at least the pretense of neutrality, but the whole trip over and when he got to the building he was decidedly dour. His form of behaving right now seemed to simply be simmering in silence. Normally he would at least try for the sake of those around them to be hospitable. But between Sharaku sensing emotional states, the woman’s stiff demeanor, and the fact that where they were going a good deal of the people would already know his story… Giving off a chipper demeanor in this place would actually give off an impression he didn’t want to give off for once.
He really didn’t expect this to be a pleasant visit. In fact, some how Ozaki was finding himself mildly wistful of Hotel 66 right now. He had literally gone to the cesspool of the city before coming here. And even now as he began to approach the door way he was finding that preferable. But there was an actual lead here, so he'd grit his teeth and bare it.

Guests. Now that had been something Mordred had been expecting today. Especially not when he heard who one of his guests was. If Yuuki was coming here something was definitely wrong. There last few interactions had been far from pleasant and the gang boss couldn’t imagine the boy would willing go to The Bloods bass unless he truly needed something. At the same time the ancient vampire had to wander who the guest the boy had decided to bring him him was. It’s was all so odd and an uncomfortable feeling had begun to arise in his gut. Yet if one of his estranged children was coming home it was a reason for celebration.
Nothing big of course since the boss was almost certain Yuuki had just revived for business but at the very least he could set up a family meal. There wasn’t much time to set everything up but Mordred contacted as many gang members as possible and invited them for a meal. The main dining room was quickly filled with actions as servants went about setting the table, cooking the food, and bringing the blood up from storage for the vampires. The gang members already at HQ were quick to arrive at the table. There curiosity had gotten the best of them. After all Mordred wasn’t the type to call together a family meeting so suddenly. They knew he liked to have a plan set in advance so as many people as possible could attend. As such as they all looked towards their boss in an attempt to read him as they took their seats at the table.
When Ozaki and Sharaku finally arrived two of the human gang members would open the front doors for them before gesturing for them to hurry inside. The mansion would be eerily quiet and in the front section there wasn’t a single person in sight besides the two members who had showed them in. The front section was decorated luxuriously with a fancy red carpet spreading across the entirety of the ground. A number of paintings lined the walls and with them were a number of mannequins dresses up in a variety of armors from different regions and time periods. Directly across the room from them was a pair of large white doors that sat between two staircases that curled around the sides of it as they led up to the second floor. It was this door that two doormen began to walk towards as they talked to the new arrivals.
“Right this way. Father and the rest are waiting for you on the dining room.”
“Yea and it’s best not to be late. Arriving fashionably late is fine but if we push it you’ll come across as rude.”
“More importantly you’ll be signing yourself up for one of father’s notorious lessons in manners”
The two guides shuddered at the thought of those lessons. Mordred was pretty harsh when it came to raising all of his children to be proper gentlemen and gentlewomen. Within a moment the guides where at the door and threw them open to reveal the large dining room inside. A large hollow round table filled the center of the room with people sitting on both the inside and outside of it. It was a strange set up to say the least but for Mordred himself it had a level of symbolic meaning that he never shared with anyone else. The table was was filled with all types of different vampires and people. While Mordred himself was dressed formally as always a majority of the gang members where not. This was a family reunion, not something that required the strict dress code a business interaction with one of the Bloods allies, enemies, or associates would’ve required.
Two empty seats had been left open at the table clearly left purposefully untouched with no seats set up directly across from them. Instead the seats where set up in such a manner that the people sitting in them would be looking directly at Mordred from across the table. To make it even more evident that the gang boss intended Ozaki and Sharaku to sit their he had certain maid sitting directly next to one of the chairs.
“It seems you two have finally made it. Take a seat and join us for dinner!”
Mordred voices echoes throughout the room and with it all eyes would turn towards the guests that had just entered.

Ozaki laughed dryly at Sharaku’s statement. “They probably reckon it is.” He muttered to the were-vampire.
Dining hall? Dinner? Late? How would they be the ones who were late when Ozaki hadn’t heard any such thing? “We’re not really here for that.” He’d try and say, but was pretty much ignored as they were hurried on. Then the door was opened to reveal… A bunch of gang members were here. Ozaki’s face upon entering the dining hall could be best described as a what the fuck expression.
Was this a meeting or something he hadn’t been told about? Of course he wouldn’t have been told about it. I mean it wasn’t like he was actually part of the gang. Everyone was looking at them now. Mordred’s greeting could almost be described of as warm. Yet for a moment Ozaki’s muscles locked up in the door way, unwilling to move.
So many people looking at him. He was bound to make a fool out of himself some how. And then there was Mordred, a man who had frequented Ozaki’s nightmares for years. Whom he had both hoped to meet and feared to ever see again. “I think… I would rather go back to the hotel.” He muttered to Sharaku, his voice dry. Damn Mordred. He was going to make him look crazy for being afraid of him right now.
“I.. We don’t really mean to interrupt your dinner meeting or whatever this is… We’re here for something else.”

The Vamp Wolf | “…….”
He was silent at first, not quite sure how to interpret the out of nowhere chiding. It wouldn’t be long before the cause was revealed more clearly, and he found himself wearing a rather annoyed expression once they were shoved into a room full of people by a dining table. Were these guys seriously that out of their mind or what….? This isn’t something you just do to people without asking them first, or even bothering to inform them, no matter how ‘good’ your intentions happen to be. You might just end up humiliating somebody instead with a thoughtless decision.
“I don’t but…” He’d trail off, not yet decided whether he was simply irritated at the moment, or more than that. He certainly didn’t want to go back to that hotel and conduct pointless wanderings, but this was all kinds of dumb in its own way. Honestly, the gaudiness and grandiose display only served to make him feel mildly disgusted. Not a lot is worse than thinking you can pull such potentially unwelcome gestures out of your ass just because you have the resources for it available at the snap of your fingers. People like that were migraines to deal with. And having an audience wasn't of any help. He was far from a fan of being the center of attention, and it didn't help that he vaguely recognized some of the faces present.
Well, unlike his companion, he was not feeling like being very roundabout at the moment though, choosing to move and walk up closer to the man greeting them, giving him a pointed look. “Don’t you think it’s quite out of the left field to do this without asking whether it is welcome at all, or at least letting your supposed guests know before they’ve walked in?” |

Well that was disappointing. They hadn't even taken a seat before rejecting the ancient vampire's expression of hospitality before moving on right to business. Grabbing the gang members now seemed to be completely pointless and in a way even embarrassing. At the same time he knew as well as he did that Yuuki wasn't likely to accept the invitation. The boy had been avoiding them like the plague. The only reason Mordred even knew he existed now was because the young vampire had attack him while under the influence of some weird black blood. He had put spies on Ozaki after that but if anything that had only driven the child further away though at least it was better than limiting him run off and doing anything stupid.
"Well you weren't really interrupting anything. After all I even put the effort into preparing seats for each of you after hearing you were coming but it seems you've only come here for business. Its disappointing to say the least but there's nothing to be done about it."
A look of displeasure had spread across Mordred's face and it only seemed to be growing worse as Yuuki's companion began to speak. Mordred was a knight who followed the code of honor and a majority of the time had a good deal of patience but being called out in front of his children definitely wasn't the most pleasant of feelings. Especially when it happened only moments of being heavily disappointed by his guests' rejection of his hospitality.
"I guess you'd could say it came out of left field but I don't see how that would matter to you. Why would even you expect me to tell either of you the events going on here when one of you not only kidnapped me but also attacked a member of my gang not long ago and I don't even know the other? Regardless I believe it is common courtesy to accept someone's hospitality when they invite you into their home but since that concept seems to be lost on you we will go right to business."
While his words were harsh the gang boss's words weren't filled with anger or rage instead they came across as unbearably cold. If they had come here for business and business alone than that was what they were going to get. The light of his eyes seemed to dim as they narrowed and scanned over his two guests. Any ruckus that had been going on at the round table before had ended and turned into silence. The food was still presented on the table for the human gang members there and the blood wine was still filled for the vampires but it all took place in silence as all the eyes moved to the guests.
"So what is it you two want?"

Ozaki had of course been joking about the hotel bit… Kind of.
Mordred had set this up for them? That was… Weird. Why did he have the impression that any such a thing would be welcome? Then again Ozaki had been the one to come over. He was just surprised that the woman who had brought them hadn’t given Mordred more information or context.
Ozaki looked down at the floor when Mordred mentioned the gang member. Honestly the kidnapping Mordred part? He’d have likely done that stone cold sober. Either that or started investigating him before making a move if he was not spotted before hand. Though… It was harder to follow or track a true hunter without being noticed. Odds were even his bats may have been caught even if they were careful. He did woefully regret attacking the maid though.
He had been hesitant to outright turn down the offered hospitality, worried that it might ruin their chances to get any information or… Really this whole thing was pointless probably. But Sharaku had already busted in the door for that. He wasn’t the type to beat around the bush.
They’d just made Mordred mad. He doubted that he was going to be in a helpful mood. “I uhh… We… Were looking into a recent increase of vampires going temporarily feral and… Ummm…” Should he use Sharaku’s real name? What if some of the people here recognized it? He almost doubted Sharaku would put any effort of hiding his identity. If he didn’t come outright and say it should the opportunity arise where it was valid to mention.
Mordred’s tune might possibly change considerably if he found out who Sharaku was… This coldness was likely still… Since he felt scorned and all. But If Sharaku had a chance to avoid this gang he had and should continue to take it. Mordred could be obsessive about those he considered “family.” But not obsessive enough to remember them or make sure they didn’t end up homeless in the first place. Both he and Sharaku had been homeless for a time as a direct result of the Bloods actions.
That thought alone was enough to assuage any inkling of guilt he may have possibly had for rejecting the hospitality off hand. Every inch of this place stank of obscene opulence and wealth. But even with that it’d have been better than the places he had had to resort to to hide from the sun as an idiot kid with no knowledge of how to survive on his own as a human, let alone as a vampire.
But… Frankly he was likely better off by being forgotten by such a man for years. Even for the hardships it had caused. He was a better man than he could have been had he actually factually been taken in by this crime syndicate after he was turned.
“My friend here was thinking that it might be someone causing it in order to incite panic around vampires and maybe increase the number of hunters focused on us. I mean us vampires.” Not us as in us as a unit. Friend also might be a bit of a stretch… He wasn’t quite sure Sharaku would call him that. But Ozaki wasn’t going to reveal anything that might expose his identity. If Sharaku did that, that would be up to him and him alone.
Any how Sharaku might have explained it better. It was his theory after all. But wow had things gotten frigid real fast. This was a dumb idea. So dumb. They never ever should have come here.

The Vamp Wolf | Geez. Well, they weren’t the ones preparing a big event for someone without even trying to reach out first, were they? How was it their fault now that they weren’t automatically pleased and thankful for something randomly thrown at them? Just because you were rich and a big boss didn’t mean people were obliged to appreciate anything you did without a single question. This set up didn’t even make sense when coupled with the man’s words anyway. If he was so unhappy about them due to attacks, kidnappings and all that, then why bother setting up a fancy meal for them to begin with? Might want to pick which side you’re on before speaking on proper hospitality matters…
Either way, he wasn’t too impressed by this, albeit it was a little amusing as well. He’d offer the man a vague shrug. “I would think it’s polite to inform guests ahead of time when it comes to such grand spectacles. If you want to speak on hospitality, you should consider both sides not just yours. Plus, it’s not like letting us know you wanted to offer dinner is really some exclusive secret info, so I don’t see how that falls under things you’d not be willing to tell. If you’re going out of your way to offer food, you’re clearly not THAT mad about the attack anyway.” Unless it was meant to be more of a mockery offering, but the man’s demeanor didn’t quite give that vibe. Then again, just like it was said, they didn’t know each other personally, meaning he couldn’t tell exactly. Although it also confirmed someone didn’t pay a lot of attention to those around him in more personal detail.
“It might do you better to try more personal approaches to your relationships though. Were you not too busy putting yourself into endless comas, or actually spoke more with your people outside of business and just fancy events like this, you might have had an idea about who I am.”, he’d shake his head with an amused huff. “Regardless, like he says, we’re here because of the underhanded tactics happening these days. There’s no better way to find witnesses to speak to than asking a big group of vampires, I’d think.” |

Mordred’s eyes fell on to his guests as they responded to him. It was a piercing gaze as if the ancient vampire was trying to staring into their very being or at the very least contemplating the most effective way of killing them both where they stood. All the while his face still held he cold expression it had assumed just a few minutes before. Yet despite his seemingly malicious glare and cold expression Mordred was listening to them very carefully. After all they had come here investigating something that affected the entirety of the vampire race. It would be unimaginably petty if he was to reject them here because of the disrespectful nature of a single brat.
Regardless, the knight didn’t say anything until both of them had finished speaking. Then he took a long sip out of the goblet of blood wine in front of him before breaking out in tremendous laughter that echoed throughout the mansion. The vampires currently sitting at the table didn’t even know how to react. They looked up towards their boss completely dumbfounded by his reaction. All of them except one, the vampire who sat at Mordred’s right side just sighed. There was only one way this could go now and the Right Hand really wasn’t looking forward to it. As Mordred laughed one of his hands reached for the knife that had been laid in front of him on the table and quickly went about cutting the palm of his other hand.
Blood began to drip down from the gang boss’s hand in what at first seemed to be a normal manner. Yet within a few moments it would seemingly stop following and instead begin hovering in the air between his hand and the table. All the blood that had dropped would begin gathering together in the air and if one looked closely enough they would see what looked like particles of metal within the floating blood. All the while Mordred’s gleeful laughter filled the room. Until he finally managed to get a few words out while grinning from ear to ear.
“I like you kid! You’ve got guts. Walking into a gang’s headquarters, challenging it’s boss in his own home, and all the while you are surrounded by multiple numbers of the gang he leads. You are either very brave or unbelievably stupid and I’m not sure which one it is yet. Regardless, there is one thing I have to make clear before we move into the business you came here for…..”
In the moment Mordred would seemingly vanish from his chair. Now vampires were known to have an advantage over a number of species when it came to speed but with Avalon activated the gang boss could reach an even higher level above that. Within an instant he would make it out of his chair into the space in front of Sharaku and Yuuki. Where the blood had been dripping from his hand now laid a strange looking pistol that seemed to be producing a small heartbeat and had arranges pulsating veins running across it. This gun had been lifted up and aimed at the hybrid’s face and once again for a short moment Mordred had a cold expression again.
“You are never to question my connection to my family again. I’ve made mistakes and I will admit to them but don’t you dare comment on things you don’t even understand.”
With that said the knight’s expression would soften again and the anger vanished from his eyes. The gun would rapidly dissolve back into a collection of blood before flowing back into Mordred’s cut as he turned back to the table. The silence that had washed across the table when he had lashed out ended as the gang members began to discuss the troubling news Yuuki had revealed.
“Fortunately, I have no intention of shooting a child over their foolhardy arrogance. I will still give you two the information you need and any help you require. After all vampires suddenly turning feral and attracting hunters isn’t good for any of us. However, it is going to come with a price.”
By this point, unless someone interfered with his walk, Mordred would be back at his seat having grabbed another cup of blood wine along the way from a younger member of the gang. Taking his seat his eyes would fall back on the stranger and then on Yuuki.
“So tell me stranger, who are you exactly? After all, you said my fancy events and lack of connection to my family is why I don’t know you. So now give some evidence to your claim or Yuuki can give it for you. That is the price you’ll have to pay for my aid.”

Why did he think that Sharaku would be the rational one? Oh right. Because up until this very moment he had seemed to be the more reasonable one of the two. But right now?! He was being a goddamn moron. Why was he provoking Mordred? Ozaki swore he wanted to melt into the floor right now.
If he weren’t horrified out of his guts he’d possibly be applauding the hybrid right now. But no. No no no.
Then Mordred started laughing. And Ozaki was trying to calculate just how dead Sharaku was going to be. They were in a gang’s head quarters for crying out loud. What had Sharaku been thinking overtly insulting their boss? Maybe Sharaku was mad or something, but… But why? Oh geeze.
When Mordred cut his palm Ozaki’s wings unconsciously summoned, flaring out. From what little he knew of Mordred, that was as good as him drawing a weapon. When Mordred appeared in front of Sharaku leveling a gun at him Ozaki used his thumb nail to cut into his index finger.
His own hand formed the shape of a finger gun, pupils turned to slits as for the briefest of moments his as anger and blood lust surpassed his fear. Oh look. Mordred’s talent made a little gun. Should he be afraid? Even with weeks of stalking him these people had no idea what he was capable of. He could blow a hole in Mordred’s back as he walked away before they even knew wh… No
Ozaki blinked and clenched his fist, pupils returning to normal. No. Mordred hadn’t killed Sharaku. And likely wouldn’t… Particularly after he found out the truth. He had to stay calm. He so direly wanted to fire even a warning shot. Just show an inch of his power to these people who thought they were so much better at protecting him than he was. But no… That would be liable to make Mordred mad.
If he reacted violently now they’d die very quickly. If they were lucky. Ozaki managed to hold himself physically back, but he could not help himself but to make at least one jab at Mordred. Sharaku would likely come forward. He didn’t really seem like the type of person to hide for long. His attitude was something Ozaki wanted to both
"… Well I’ll just say The Bloods has made more than one child of their "family" homeless through their actions.” He said with an acid bitterness in his voice. He’d leave it at that for now… The rest was up to Sharaku to tell. "Honestly gotta wonder how many more out there there might be."

The Vamp Wolf | Boy, was this guy too loud. Honestly, he didn’t get it. He wasn’t even trying to challenge anyone. It wasn’t his problem that the guy was being a sore butt and had to pull his rank as a reason for anything brought up that he didn’t like being some big offense. Can’t even discuss issues without needing to establish some higher ground these days…? Personally, he just didn’t give a fuck if the person he was talking to was the world’s leader or something. That did not exempt them from any and all complaints by default. You’re not a big shot who can’t be argued against just because you’re a boss. That kind of attitude sort of annoyed him. Oh no, did your boss pride get hurt?
He’d level Mordred with a mostly flat expression. “I never said anything about challenging you. You’re the one interpreting a simple statement of a potential misplay on your part as some sort of a dick measuring contest. I don’t care who ‘wins’. It’s a matter of putting things out there instead of playing nice by default. No one’s a saint that absolutely doesn’t deserve any kind of negative comment against them ever, boss of a bunch of people or not.” He’d shrug lightly. “I’d say that if you were to shoot me now over just an accusation that hasn’t even been further spoken about and confirmed or denied, then you’d make yourself look childish in front of everyone. Throwing a tantrum because you feel insulted in the moment.” It would certainly be an unpleasant turn of events, as he did not favor getting shot at, especially from basically point blank range, but he would like to at least believe this guy wouldn’t be a boss if he were rash enough to make moves of that caliber without any initial thinking put into it. Then again, there clearly was something wrong somewhere with communications in this group.
“You must think quite highly of yourself to call me arrogant simply because I dare question you like I technically could any other person. I like to think people should be able to discuss things as equals, regardless of their perceived positions. It’s not like I’m doing it because I want to steal your throne or something.” Boy would that be way too much effort, towards a thing he didn’t even care about a whole lot. Plus, he wasn’t dumb enough to actually issue a challenge to a whole gang over stupid shit. That was never his intention. He simply preferred to speak freely. He wasn’t even the guy’s subordinate or anything.
Anyway, on the matter of where this conversation was going…he wasn’t sure why that was what the man cared about the most right now, but it was arguable one of the less troublesome options. He’d snort. “Hmph. Well, technically I’m the one who chose to leave, although I suppose I can’t vouch for how long they would have kept me around, had I not.” It was a question he’d never know the answer to, but there was always a chance they did nothing because he was still too young for them to not feel some remorse for kicking him out at that point. “…regardless, since you’ve decided to care so much about that, then yes, what he says is true. You could say that my father is one of your little goons.” |

The brat just never stopped. Mordred had even gone as far as to pull out his gun and yet to had accomplished nothing besides making him look like a fool. If this stranger didn't start backing off a bit the vampire knight was starting to think he was actually going to have shoot him just to prove a point. It was all such a pain and was starting to give the gang boss a headache. Way back before Mordred had been turned he could and would've challenge someone who called his honor into question and been completely justified in the act. Yet those days had long since past and there was no way he could justify challenging someone would was probably centuries younger than him to a proper duel. As far as the the knight was concerned such an act would only bring his honor further into question or as the stranger put it he'd look like a child throwing a tantrum.
"Discuss as equals? Now that's an interesting point isn't it. Actually, in any other case I'd even be in support of your argument. After all it is very similar to a certain man I used to admire who despite standing in a position above all others he always tried to stand by the idea of all of us being equals. He even designed the table we all met at around that ideal. However, what you brought into question isn't something that can be discussed as equals. Doing that would be like saying a doctor and a random person stood at equal footing when it came to a discussion about medicine. Regardless, for now there was no further value on carrying on this conversation any further."
Mordred had to hope that they wouldn't try to carry on that discussion any further after that. The whole argument was irritating to begin with and he was far more interested in other things, especially after what he heard Yuuki had to say. Family? This stranger was family? He hadn't turned someone else and forgotten about them had he?! There was no way he'd do that twice, right?! Neurons began firing faster than ever before as Mordred tried to go through every single memory he had. There was no way. He was certain he hadn't turned anyone else. Then again he was fairly certain Yuuki wasn't a person till he suddenly showed up again. This whole situation was starting to make Mordred worry about his mental health. Could vampires even get dementia? The person to his right side on the other hand was just as panicked but for completely different reasons. Oh, how much trouble he was going to get in if these two brats revealed everything to Mordred. Sure, he truly ran the gang but Mordred was a father figure to everyone there including himself. The rest of the gang wouldn't truly trust the ancient vampire to run it but they wouldn't stop their father from handing down punishment.
Yet everything changed dramatically when Sharaku finally revealed who he truly was. Mordred's brain grinned to a halt and for a moment couldn't even generate a response. Then for a mere moment his eyes almost seemed to light up with joy. Sure, the kid was argumentative as all hell and it only took him mere moments to get on the knight's nerve but family was family. The kid, as far as Mordred was concerned was his grandson. Yet this moment of euphoria only lasted a moment before the realization finally came to the gang boss. No one had ever told him about this child. There was a member of the family who had been out in the world for years and he hadn't been told about it. Something was wrong. Something was seriously wrong if his children were keeping members of the family a secret from him. Joy turned to rage in a moment though it was no longer directed at the two guests. The boss's hand slammed on to the table in front of him.
"So does someone want to explain to me why I was never informed about this? Why there was a member of the family out there that I wasn't even aware of?! I know I may be forgetful as all hell but I know you lot aren't so someone better start giving me an explanation right now!"
As if they were running on some kind of script, everyone currently seated at the round table gulped including the right hand man.

How impulsive, stupid. He thought Sharaku was smarter than this, but he wouldn’t take the fucking hint. And yet… He hadn’t even gotten a scratch on him. Mordred may very well seem scary… And hell if he wasn’t. But if Sharaku was doing anything right now he was incidentally setting an example. A bar of how far he could go without anything unsavory happening to him…
But then again… Since when had Ozaki shied away from pain as a vampire? At any given moment he would literally take a bullet for any one person in the academy and shrug it off as nothing. Not that it didn’t hurt but… The pain was inconsequential. And also if he really wanted to he could quickly numb it with any number of his pain killers. If Mordred were going to kill him it would have been during their “sweet reunion.”
Anything less than that? Getting locked up in Meggi’s room would suck but… Hell if he couldn’t endure that too. Ozaki was tried of running away like some meek mouse. He usually lived his life under the policy that it was better to appear a coward than a man who could loose his temper. But he wasn’t doing anyone favors with that policy right now, least of all himself.
There was a brief moment of light in Mordred’s eyes in hearing the news that Sharaku was part of his “family.” That light, however, quickly caught aflame and was set upon his goons.
So while people were distracted with Mordred’s snarls, Ozaki would turn part of the ancient vampire’s blood wine into pumpkin spice, as well as a few other gang member’s for the hell of it. If there was one good thing about this talent, it hardly had any tells when it was activated, and the color of the blood wine itself had only just barely shifted to a lighter hue with as much as he had altered. With as tense as everyone was, they wouldn’t notice until it was too late.
He had initially thought of spiking the wine with a bit of holy water… But that would likely be going too far, even if none of them actually swallowed.
“Gosh Mordred…” Ozaki would begin to say, mischief causing his previous frown to warp into a gleeful smile. “Seems there’s all sorts of things this family of yours hasn’t told you. Like the time your Right hand man chased me off fifteen years ago knowing exactly who I was. No of course not. He did warn me not to tell you after all… Which is funny, because before that I hadn’t even remembered what he looked like, nor assumed it was because he was intentionally trying to make sure I stayed forgotten.”
His smile would fall as he continued, bitterness beginning to curl into his voice like barbed wire on a hare’s foot. “Though now I think about it… You do have one good point. Your memory is shit… But if he knew you changed me that means others did too… Gotta wonder why they neglected to remind you too… Actually I can answer that for you. Probably weren’t interested in sharing a roof with the son of a vampire hunter. Better that I sleep in the streets than anything like that happen.”

The Vamp Wolf | Well, it wasn’t as if he expected people to understand his choice of action. He was by no means being stupid about it, though to an onlooker who didn’t know the reasons, he would probably look reckless. While he certainly lacked in his ability to be properly empathetic and dealing with social niceties, and was good at taking hard action in the moment, it did not mean his intelligence suffered a hit too. It was simply a matter of being shrewd with one’s choices and knowing how to make use of both at the same time. There was a very good reason as to why he was not worried about getting killed here. A short observation of how the boss man acted was enough to confirm that. The guy cared a lot about his family, and about how he was viewed, as well as was quite intent on being a good host. A rash violent act right in front of his family like this would send all the wrong vibes. Unless he went and attacked first or kept spewing insults without even backing any of it up, there was no way the guy would actually shoot him just because of a little provocation and threats alone were just that, a bit of barking. That was all he needed to know. He knew he could afford pushing to a certain point, because of the kind of person he was dealing with, and he’d play his cards with that in mind.
He’d shrug faintly. “We weren’t talking about anything one would need a degree to claim being knowledgeable in, unlike a doctor who has to study their ass off to know their stuff. I’m not sure I see the correlation. This type of thing is more based in personal opinions and values, than it is in one’s objective knowledge about a topic. Either way, there’s no need to get all mad over it…” He was all for a heated discussion, but picking a real fight was rarely within his original intentions. Besides, they were here for other things too, so going in circles about an off-topic matter would be a potential waste of time. He was quite sure the two of them wouldn’t agree too easily, were it to continue.
Speaking of off-topic though, there did not seem to be a way to avoid that from happening, eh? Well, he would stay silent as things were suddenly starting to escalate, taking the moment to think about where the situation appeared to be going. Based on what he could get from all this….the man did not know about what was happening because the others were keeping secrets then? That…did make it all a lot more troublesome, however at the same time, it did mean Mordred wasn't as much at fault for everything as he seemed to be at glance. Sighing, he’d run a hand through his hair. He did not want to be part of this. Ironically enough, in spite of his argumentative and seemingly aggressive attitude, he was far less agitated by this than his companion clearly was. There was no reason to be truly angry about this, or get satisfaction from the suffering caused by the distasteful revelations. Of course, he did not think positively about how he had been treated in the past, but there was no way to change what had already happened. It had been over for a long time now. No kind of revenge, whether direct or petty would do anything about it, besides causing more resentment between people to build up.
“They did it because of a conflict of interest, no? Being family does not mean everyone will have the same values and opinions on how matters ought to be handled. They can’t control the man that has authority over them, so lying is clearly the safest option for them to have things the way they want. I’d wager there seems to be an alarming lack of trust between you. They don’t think you’d listen to their wishes if you disagreed with them, and just impose what you wanted instead. That’s why they kept both of us out of your ears. We’re both something they’re not comfortable with and they think you would just disregard that if you knew. Isn’t that right?” His tone was mostly neutral, making an observational comment, rather than getting riled up over it in the moment. |

"Silence!"
Mordred's voice exploded out from him and almost seemed to reverberated throughout the house. Immediately every vampire within hearing range that had been sired by the white haired gang leader found their mouths bound shut. The ultimate power of a vampiric sire, the parental control. The ability to dominate the wills of everyone you turned with something as simple as a voice command. In the moment though even Mordred wasn't even aware he had used it. It had been an impulsive action carried out by his rage and it was only the beginning. Almost around the same time the glass that had been filled with blood would begin to shake violently as their contents began to move about rapidly and erratically until the pressure exerted on the goblets caused them to shatter all across the table. The blood that had once been inside them would flying into the air into violent chaotic streams rising until they were just above the ceiling.
In the air the blood would swirl rapidly around Mordred's position like a hurricane forming around the center of a storm. An almost perfect metaphor for the rage waiting to explode outwards from the gang boss. None of the gang members in the room dared moved out of fear it might focus their Father's rage on to them. The ancient vampire treated them like his own children and while he was tough on them he had always meant well but the look on his face now had never been directed at them before. It was a face they had only seen when Mordred believed his family was under attack. A face of pure malice and rage with little to no restraint. A face Yuuki had once seen long ago. Yet just as the rising blood storm seemed to be reaching its most violent levels it seemed to suddenly come to an abrupt halt.
A deep sigh echoed out of Mordred's throat as he collapsed backwards into his chair. The rage that had been there just a moments before had seemingly dissipated. As much as the knight would hate to admit it Sharaku had made a good point and his side was only made worse when a certain from within his own sword started chastising him for his own impulsiveness. Maybe after being asleep so long he really had become disconnected from his family. The blood that had been thrown up towards the ceiling slowly lowered itself back down and was moved to fill any containers that hadn't be destroyed in Mordred's rage. Grabbing the bridge of his nose the gang boss signed one more time before speaking again.
"Clearly, there is a lot of things that are going to be dealt with but for now I'm just going to try to deal with the matter at hand. You all may speak again but I'd ask that you all leave the room while I finish this business with our guests. We are going to be having a meeting later tonight that will sort the rest of this stuff out. For now, just go about your business. Now then, you two tell me everything you know about the problem you came to ask about. Don't leave anything out."
With that said Mordred would go to take a drink from his own glass, which hadn't been destroyed earlier. Yet just as it passed through his lips his face would twist into one of pure confusion as he lifted his glass up to his eyes to get a closer look at its content.
"What in the bloody hell is this? Who's blood is this? What the hell did they eat or drink in such excess to make it taste like this?"
