Name of Talent: Daevanam Daevo
Concept: Created through highly questionable and numerous experiments and rituals Daevanam Daevo is an ability that was developed by the Majin of Destruction in her attempt to grow closer to the divine. Specifically she broke seven pieces off of her own soul, conducted a large number of experimental rituals on them to drastically increase their magic potential while turning them into sponges from eldritch energy, infused each one of them into specific sections of her grimiore to focus them on the spell type they were bound to, and connected the entirety of the book with her own soul. These soul fragments gained their own level of independence and gave themselves the collective name of Daeva(gods to be rejected). As a result Dawn named the talent Daevanam Daevo meaning Daeva of Daevas or Chief of Daevas.
When this talent is activated Dawn draws upon the magic contained inside her grimoire, the soul bound to the spell type she is trying to use, and the eldritch energy absorbed up until that point. Dawn’s appearance will than change depending on the Daeva in use and magical energy will radiate from her body. She will then have access to all the spells in her grimoire that she bound the Daeva to.
The Daeva
Pride: The Daeva of Pride that encompasses all of Dawn’s sense of self importance including her Dawn complex. Just like a deity Dawn and this Daeva imagine themselves to be this fragment of the Majin’s soul wishes for absolute control. As a result this Daeva was bound to all the spells in the grimoire that relate to exerting one's control over others. Voodoo dolls, life linking, mental, soul, and emotional manipulation, etc. (OOC permission needed before using any spell from this section on any characters.)
Wrath: The embodiment of all of Dawn’s anger and infused with every offense spell contained inside of the Majin’s grimoire this form contains the most destructive capabilities of this talent. Every spell accessed in this form is intended to destroy its target and is incredibly volatile in nature. As such unless it is heavily controlled it is very possible for these spells to backfire in catastrophic ways for the user potentially burning, electrocuting them, maiming them, or even killing them in the process. As a result a majority of the time the spells of this Daeva are materialized in the shape of dark red spears thus keeping them in a compressed controllable form.
Greed: Dawn’s selfish desires. This is what the Daeva of Greed personifies and as a result it was given authority over spells relating to the manipulation of the physical world. Specifically the Daeva of Greed gives the power of transmutation, the ability to turn one material into another. This process usually takes time and focus making it unusable in combat situations.
Gluttony: A selfish unending hunger that devours every source of energy within its grasp at the expense of all those around it. That is what the Daeva of Gluttony is. When this Daeva is in use a black miasma will emanate from the user in an inch radius before vanishing. Any living things that comes into contact with this miasma will find that is life forcing is progressively being drained. At the same time this miasma will also drain sources of energy to sate its appetite.
Envy: The longing for that which belongs to another. That is what Envy is and for Dawn specifically this desire is to achieve true divinity. The ability to have control over an aspect of reality or reality itself and to be able to bend it to one's will. With this in mind Dawn’s Daeva of Envy was given authority over spells relating to illusion.
Lust: Desire. It is something possessed by everyone. There is always something someone or something someone lusts after. This Daeva takes advantage of that fact and focuses on spells relating to granting people what they desire most through the use of contract magic. Through a written magically enforced agreement an individual can be granted what they wished for though it comes with a price. However, both participates have to be given the ability to read through the contract and must willingly agree to the terms without being coerced.
Sloth: Laziness. This is the simplest way to define what the Daeva of Sloth represents. In a way one could say it is fundamental different than the other Daeva since it seemingly the lack of desire or motivation. With this in mind the Daeva of Sloth was given the power of Division. The ability to divide anything in order to make it more manageable.
Extra(s):
-Upon activation of a Daeva Dawn’s outfit and appearance will change according to the preferences of the selected Daevas.
-When Daevas are freed from their containment they will have completely control of their form and shape since they truly have no physical body. However, they still tend to take on Dawn’s general appearance
Positive Mechanics: What mechanical advantages does the Talent have? What it is good against? What does it allow the character to do? For every 3 positive mechanics one must have 1 negative mechanic.
Pride’s Authority: Once all Pride’s prerequisites have been met(body part of the victim, the proper incantations, and rituals) Dawn is capable of casting a number of spells to manipulate the thoughts, movements, feelings, and emotions of her intended target. She is also capable of linking people together if she has a part of each of them(OOC Permission needed before this talent is used on anyone).
Spears of Wrath: All of Wrath’s spell when in use take the form of highly condensed spears. When something is hit with this spear it will be hit with the full effect of what the weapon was infused with be it an explosion, fire, electricity, or other common aspects of destruction.
Greed’s Transmutation: Given a good amount of time, magic circles, incantations, and the proper materials any substance can be turned into another using the power of the Daeva of Greed.
The Devourer: The miasma produced when this ability is active will absorb life force any energy from anything it comes in contact with. The miasma is produced in a radius of one inch around the users body. It can not absorb physical attacks.
Envy’s World: The power of the Daeva of Envy is illusion. The more prep that goes into this ability the stronger the illusion gets and the more space it can be spread across.
Lust’s Contract: Once a Contract is formed the contractee wish can be granted and the price of the contract can be extracted from them. The wishes granted are also usual twisted in someone without technically breaking the term of the contract in anyway. Contracts must also be sealed with a kiss along with the signature.
Sloth’s Reduction: Once all the requisites have been met Sloth’s power can be used to temporarily divide any given value it is presented with. The rate of time, the size of an object, temperature, etc.
Negative Mechanics: What mechanical disadvantages does the Talent have? What is it weak against? What flaws does it have in its execution? For every 3 positive mechanics one must have 1 negative mechanic.
Preparations and Materials: While certain Daeva’s such as Wrath and Gluttony usually don’t require the use of any spell materials at all the rest require special materials for all their spells or at the very least the higher level ones. Lust always requires a written contract signed by both parties. Envy can create small illusions without materials but anything beyond that requires the use of materials and magic circles, the more materials and procedure required the more powerful the illusion. Greed always needs a magic circle to conduct a transmutation and as the value of the desired transformation increases so does the number of materials needed. Pride requires a number of items to conduct her spells and almost always requires a part of her targets body as well. Finally, Sloth also requires a number of materials to use up in order to properly use its spells. The materials Sloth needs depends on what they are dividing and how much they are dividing it by.
Instability: With Dawn fighting for control over her seven soul fragments this talent itself is highly unstable. The Daeva don’t like being bound and given the opportunity will break free. Since switching between Daeva comes with its own level of instability Dawn can only switch between Daeva once a day.
Individualism: When separated from the book and Dawn the fragments of her soul will have complete independence and won’t want to return. As a result they will either fight to retain their independence or attempt to overthrow Dawn’s status as ruler. As a result Dawn will have to fight against her own soul fragments once they are free.
The Grimoire: With seven fragment of her soul connected to the grimoire being separate from this book is incredibly dangerous. Without the book Dawn will be unable to use any of her magic and if she is separate from it for an extended period of time she will lose access to all the memories contained within the other soul fragments. If the book is destroyed the soul fragment will return to Dawn’s body but she will lose her ability to use this talent until she does the ritual again.
Unstable and Contained: The power of the Daeva of Wrath is the most volatile and unstable of this talents abilities. If used without high levels of control it will go wild and backfire on the user in the process. As a result it is usually contained into the form of a spear, which while keeping it under control it also makes the attacks easier to avoid.
Overabundance or Starvation: While the Daeva of Gluttony has a very large capacity for the amount of energy it can absorb it does have a limit. Trying to absorb to vast a quantity of energy will result in the miasma temporarily fading out until it can deal with the excess. At the same time absorbing to little will cause the miasma to dissipate since the Daeva will become uncooperative if it isn’t fed.
Rejection and Boundaries: While the Daeva of Envy specializes in trying to distort reality to fit their desires at the end of the day everything they construct is just an illusion. If the victim realizes this they will break free from its entrapment and any damage they took while in the illusion will be undone. At the same time Envy’s illusion are contained inside a spell boundary determined by the placement of the spells materials. Leaving this boundary will also free the individual from the spells effects.
Binding of the Contract: Once a contract is made using the Daeva of Lust it’s terms are absolute. Dawn must always give the other person the ability to read over the contract and she can’t coerce them into signing it. If the contract is signed following these two rules than Dawn and the other contractee are magical bound to the terms they agreed to. Breaking the terms comes with the cost of losing what you were suppose to be given while still having to pay the price to the other person.
I DON’T WANNA: Being the Daeva of Sloth this fragment of Dawn’s souls hates being put to work. As a result it is highly resistant to even being used unless it is provide with some kind of motivation to do so. So alongside any material needed to cast the spell Sloth will usual put an extra requirement on top of all this.
