Name of Talent: Spacial Rending
Extra(s): Spacial Rending techniques vary in appearance to a degree, but typically cause visible distortions of reality at the focal point, and black "lines" being sucked inward - visible eldritch energy being sucked from the ambient air around.
Concept: Despite its name, Spacial Rending has nothing to do (inherently) with cutting, slicing, stabbing, hacking, slashing or anything of the sort. It's just a spacial-manipulation technique more or less on the same level of things like teleportation, which is (technically) its primary usage. Spacial Rending allows for its user to access a selection of empty pocket-dimensions totally unique to them, and can be used for various purposes, primarily for storage of objects or making quick escapes. What makes the ability unique, however, are the ways one can apply this to have potential other than just "storage", including using it at a range to separate objects at the molecular level and teleporting those things to these pocket dimensions, acting as a form of slicing that ends up being more akin to something being sucked into an artificially created black hole, or allowing the user to teleport by taking advantage of the "location" and special laws of their available pocket dimensions, essentially cutting travel time to zero.
This talent was manifested directly as a result of Ashford's introversion and a desire to conceal his face from others. It is, in essence, a strong aspect of his personality made manifest in tangible ways.

Positive Mechanics:
- Allows for a form of teleportation, albeit slower and clumsier than actual teleportation. This is done by taking advantage of the smaller spaces of the pocket dimensions - moving within them to a different point and then exiting from that point will place the target in the "relative" real-world location.
- Can be used up close or at a distance; the closer the target is to the user, the faster this works.
- Can be used offensively by targeting small pieces of things, such as "cutting" off a limb at a chosen point, creating holes in terrain, or other such things.
- By taking advantage of special physical laws within pocket dimensions, it's possible to place an object within one and then eject it at high speeds, ablaze, frozen, etc.
- Can be set to trigger automatically on specified objects or persons under specific conditions, ie "when about to be hit by an object with X velocity/mass".
- Can be used to interfere with other talents that manipulate space in various ways.
- Can be utilized to obtain a form of intangibility due to a combination of the above effects.
- The user is capable of dragging in anything nearby when moving into these dimensions themselves, making it possible to trap others within it relatively simply.
- Portals made using Spacial Rending drag in nearby matter in a way similar to a black hole, with the range and strength of this effect being determined directly by portal-size.
- Portals do not remain for any duration after the initial transport - after the "wind up" period, the effects are instantaneous. This is both a benefit and detriment.
- Can be used in whatever creative ways the user can think of, so long as these core rules and functions are kept in mind.
- The speed at which objects can be dragged in is based upon the user's speed aspect. This is a positive or negative depending on circumstances, as the pace can otherwise not be sped up or slowed down.
Negative Mechanics:
- Living creatures can typically not exist indefinitely within these pocket dimensions, as their makeup doesn't often match that of "realspace". Some are devoid of oxygen, lack any form of solid ground, or have totally different atmospheres entirely composed up of flammable or toxic gasses.
- The larger (and/or denser) something is, the more slow and difficult it is to transport in and out. Energy requirements for the ability are based almost entirely on those two physical characteristics moreso than anything else. Small objects like knives will be able to be transported almost instantly, while people and large creatures become much more difficult to manage.
- Teleportation with this talent is not instantaneous, as one's entire body must first be swallowed up into the chosen pocket dimension. Exit from these dimensions is much faster than entering them, making it exceptionally difficult to use in combat as an escape method, and in some cases outright impossible.
- Cannot teleport while maintaining a state of intangibility - likewise, this talent cannot be used on multiple separate objects simultaneously, meaning one has to make a conscious choice whether to go on the offensive or stay intangible.
- Intangibility does not prevent nonphysical talents from having an effect. Mental-related talents and any which do not have some direct physical effect (ie fire, ice, kinetic force, etc etc) will still function without inhibition.
- The size of the objects one is capable of teleporting in or out of their dimensions directly correlates to their strength aspect.
- The duration one can remain intangible using that effect correlates directly to one's resilience aspect, as "holding" individual bodyparts within these dimensions is taxing and hazardous, causing issues with bloodflow, heart rhythm, and oxygen. Once this duration has expired, the user must give their body time to recover in order to avoid lasting long-term trauma. The duration one can remain intangible is one minute per point of resilience, up to the maximum of five. This maximum duration cannot be extended or shortened by anything other than base resilience.
