Clothing is a major difference between this and Talon himself. Talon prefers to dress with a dark blue leather jerkin matched with a black jacket lined with similar blue accents. Black gloves with special fittings in the center of the back of his hand could often be seen on him. These fittings were for the arcane crystals he used as energy sources, so he could use both hands in combat without worrying about holding the gems themselves.
Secondary differences would be that Talon has many scars on his hands and running up his forearms, a majority of these being arcane scars. On the underside of his forearms rests metallic and slightly raised designs which take the basic shape of flowing energy, almost like a tribal tattoo. Once Talon discovers his inborn Talent, these glow a faint violet hue upon activation of said Talent. The metallic designs are raised by starting even with his skin and meeting at a point about a inch raised above his skin, this point running along the entire design. These design are just under an inch wide.

Personality: Talon is usually a quiet and reserved man, one who keeps his head down when around others and finds it difficult to trust those around him. With that in mind, one should know he is only like this because of where he came from. Once he gets to trusting someone, even if just a little bit, it can be found that he is loyal to those he would consider a friend. Even when he has friends, however, one will find he is still rather reserved and quiet, usually speaking only when spoken to or when he is involved in the subject, and almost always with little if any emotion in his voice. When it comes to his actions, however, he is always willing to help those around him whenever/however he is able to, even if he remains wordless during any interactions. The only time he won’t help others is if he finds them to be unworthy of his trust, or that of those he calls friends.
Abilities/Power:
Talon, as one of the five percent of his species, can manipulate many different forms of energy. However, in order to be able to manipulate different forms, he must train to do so. Currently known energies are listed below, as well as the level of control he had with each.
Personal Energy (For use in basic spells) [Minor]
Electric [Minor]
Kinetic [Minor]
Fire [Minor]
History: Talon was born into a town that can be considered behind the times. While they are aware of, familiar with and have access to technology, they had little more than electricity and cell phones. The town ran itself through the manipulation of energies instead of using machines, matching certain energies with respective tasks. Those who could control the heated energy of flames usually ran restaurants or worked in conditions requiring extreme heat. Those who could control the flowing energy of water worked to keep fresh water in the town. If the energy matched, that is what you did.
This did not sit well when it came to a small percentage of the population, however. Roughly five percent of the Enerzian species was born with the ability to manipulate more than just the single form of energy. From electric energy to kinetic, flames to more mystic or cosmic energy that might be in a certain area, these few Enerzians were discovered to have few limits to the types of energy they were able to manipulate. This went against the way of life within this land, and thus these few were immediately outcast and shunned, raised by each other or by themselves.
This was Talon’s childhood. Alone and shunned by the people he had been born into, left to fend for himself. He often wandered the outskirts of the town, taking the odd jobs no one wanted for minimal pay. Whatever kept him fed and clothed. At least once a day he would hunt within the forest around the town and cook whatever he got at a fire just out of site of the people of the town so as not to be disturbed by those who looked for the five percent just to bully them.
These bullies kept the five percent from getting too close to each other, so that attention wasn’t drawn to a bigger group. In fact, the only actual friend Talon ever had was a hawk, which had been left to fend for itself at a young age, due to hunters killing its mother. Talon did what he could to care for the bird, catching fish and grinding its meat to feed to his new friend who he had named Red due to its crimson shade. The bird grew to be loyal to Talon, sticking with him even after growing enough to fly and hunt on his own.
Despite him being an outcast, teachers had to teach him as well due to laws. They would make sure to make it hell for him, however, often ‘losing’ his work or just ‘forgetting’ to give him the homework in the first place. Even with their less-than-professional behaviour, Talon learned all he could, proving himself to be not just determined but rather intelligent. He could usually catch on to harder tasks quicker than others, and would finish the supervised tests before others, handing them directly to the school management who would be watching instead of the teachers who gave them the tests.
The one thing that the schools refused to teach him was how to control his abilities, locking him out the secure locations in which the classes were kept within. He instead had to teach himself. This often ended up with the energies back-lashing or even completely resisting his attempts, damaging him rather severely at times. His hands and forearms began to accumulate scars as a result, soon being completely covered in arcane scars, those on his arm often being hidden by sleeves.
After years of attempts, Talon knew he needed to find someone to teach him properly, and began to look around for information within the town of anything that could help. After finding a newspaper headlining a place known as Eldritch Academy, an esteemed school known for the large amount of arcane-gifted students, Talon decided that was where he needed to go. He would need to save some money for the trip, but he was determined to get to this place.
Two years later, when he hit eighteen, he left the town without anyone being able to stop him, bringing only the clothes on his back, Red and a few Reserve Crystals he had paid the town Gem Arcanist to make. These gems held reserves of, and had the ability to recharge, the only two energies he had been able to get even a minor control of, electric and kinetic. A third crystal was left empty for when he began to learn more energies. He only had the money for those three, and figured he would be able to buy or maybe make more later if he needed.
The trip to Mystopolis was long and difficult, mainly because Talon could never find a ride to take him farther down the road. On foot, he discovered the dangers of the world, being attacked by strange monsters during the nights. Since he was close to the road, they were all smaller and weaker, but were still a threat. With Talon helping by dive-bombing the creatures, he was able to fend them off by sending out waves of unstable energy at them, still receiving backlash and receiving more injuries to his arms. His sleeves remained intact and thus cover these injuries once more, making it so that they remained unnoticed when he got to the city upon reaching it. From there, his goal was to find Eldritch, which he found to be more difficult with his little knowledge of big cities. (Optional)
♦ SPECIES INFORMATION ♦
Name of Species: Enerzian
Baseline Dimension: Average height for an Enerzian is roughly just under six feet. One's body build is usually a slightly muscular build, just enough to handle physical battle. Average weight of this race is between 150-170.
Baseline Appearance: Eye color of an Enerzian matches that of their natural energy manipulation type. The 5% who are able to control multiple types begin have a deep, vibrant shade of violet eyes, and their eyes will change their hue based on the energy being manipulated. The hair of the average Enerzian is a darker shade of gray, bordering black. All Enerzian have roots which match their eye color, with the 5%'s roots being permanently violet.
The race known as Enerzian has one main physical appearance trait which stands out. Each Enerzian has a metallic, slightly raised design which runs along whatever part of their body houses the main aspect of their Talent, usually taking a design of flowing energy.
Culture/Origin of Species: The Enerzian race is one that evolved within a land full of different arcane energies. Enerzians evolved to control these energies as no distinct physical sources could be found. Once general control of these energies was achieved, a community was formed in a way that set those who manipulated a certain form of energy were designated to certain tasks related to said energy.
The majority of the Enerzian race followed this, though a small group of Enerzians was discovered to have the ability to manipulate more than just a single type of energy, but instead switch between different ones. As these people were different and dangerously powerful compared to others within the culture, they were almost always known as outcasts, and were more often than naught turned away from the classes which would help them learn to control their abilities. Due to this, most of these 5% leave their homeland, making their population count at less than 1% within their homeland.
Generally, each different role group is lead by a group of three who have proven themselves able to handle such responsibility, and these three from each group form a council which acts as the judge, jury and executioner of the Enerzians.
Traits: 1: The Enerzian race is one that is naturally resilient to the energy they are able to manipulate, with similar energies also being slightly less effective in attacks against them.
2: An Enerzian is able to take control of and redirect an attack so long as it is a pure form of their natural energy (Fire with fire, lightning with lightning, variant form with matching variant, etc) This technique may fail for PC's.
3: Enerzians can sense the presence of external arcane energies (magic energy outside of a living body) and track the energy very accurately.
4: All Enerzians have the ability to manipulate basic energy around them to give themselves a slight boost in magic power. This can't be used too much as they are drained by manipulating an energy that is not natural to their own.
5: Given the proper training, an Enerzian is able to channel their own energy into an object, such as a weapon. This lets them wield a physical weapon which can be used to send out waves of energy during a physical attack.
6: Through meditation, an Enerzian can store reserves of energy inside specially made crystals which one constantly wears around their neck. This is used as emergency reserves for if they were to find themselves in need during battle, or if they wish to reserve their own energy but have need of magic.
7: All Enerzians are able to manipulate the most basic and common forms of energy, such as kinetic energy and similar forms.
8: Through the manipulation of the energy around them, Enerzians have the ability to temporarily lower the the Strength aspect by a single level. They do this by one of two methods. The first is simply by pulling the energy of the opponent from them during the Enerzian's own attack. This is a difficult technique, and is very easily disrupted. The second method is simply by suppressing the energy of their opponent with the Enerzian's own energy. This is much simpler and easier to pull off, however it also weakens the Enerzian's own Strength, as they are using their energy to do this and thus limiting their reserves.
All Enerzians always start off with stats of at least what is written below.
Vitality: 1
Strength: 1
Speed: 1
Resilience: 3
Stamina: 2
