welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

A year had already passed and once again, like so many times before, Corbyn was standing in front of a classroom door. Knowing that when he opens that door he would be greeted by the battlefield that is known as high school. From behind it, he could hear the turmoil. Students nervously laughing as they are trying to come to terms with their new classmates. Familiar faces who haven't seen each other for the entirety of summer and loudly greeted each other. Young men trying to impress the girls with their over the top attitude and girls trying not to get annoyed too much by the boy's behavior. However as rowdy, as a class could be, there were none that Corbyn couldn't handle. He knew that his entire presence made sure of that, sure the children couldn't see or know what he truly was, however, his kind was so foul that even while hiding in a human form he made them feel uneasy. Because of that, his classes were always relatively peaceful.
Corbyn pushed the door open and as he walked into the classroom he instinctively started addressing the entire class without even giving them a single glance. 'Alright, 3A pipe down and take to your seats' The students murmured on for a little bit and started to walk back to their own tables. However the moment Corbyn had reached his desk and slammed a thick binder on it, the class immediately quieted down. He glared at them for a second and immediately assessed the entire group. Even for a magical school that housed a large variety of mythical beings, this class was an odd bunch. From an Ogre boy with his horns sticking out to fairy types, there was even this weird shadow being sitting in the back of the class, really he always got the strange ones. However, according to his dossier, there were a couple that did stand out. To start with Miss Hawthorne, heir to an influential family and a young ghost girl who when mortal met a terrible fate on the school grounds. Surely Corbyn had to keep an eye on her, her trauma might become hold her back from her true potential, however, she did seem to come to his class which was a step forward. Next was Quinn Elizabeth Beaumont, a purebred if Corbyn recalled correctly and granddaughter to one of the eastern patherna tribes. You don't see those often and one with such a heritage too. There was also Mister Hopkins, a young boy with a kind of sheepish look on his face and one of the two humans in the class. Foolish actually, humans don't always do well in a school like this, because despite the school opens its arm to any species, magical or non-magical alike, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a safe place. The second human was Aspen Azarov, she was as well from a distinguished family. Then there was the youngest in the room, only fourteen years old this girl sat in his class, which wasn't unheard of in Eldritch Academy. They weren't always strict with protocol or regulations. Kaname Hayamoto, another ghost-type mostly known for the katana she always carries with her. And lastly, the strange shadow being, there was almost no information on him despite the fact that it was attending his homeroom class.
'Let's skip most pleasantries shall we, no need to talk about how eventful your summer was' Corbyn continued 'For those that don't know me yet, I am Mister Dumas and you will address me as such. Aside from that, I have four clear rules during my class from which you will not deviate. Firstly, when I am talking you will be silent, if you are somehow dimwitted enough when paying actual attention and still need to ask a question you will raise your hand first. Thirdly any abilities you have, magical or physical, during my lectures you will keep them to yourself.' Before Corbyn continued he turned away from the entire class and gave Kaname a look. 'And Lastly, and this goes for you especially Miss Hayamoto, normally weapons are strictly forbidden in my class. However, I assume you carry it with you for a reason, so I'll make an exception as long as it is flat on the ground and next to your desk, it is fine with me. Did I make myself clear everyone?' Corbyn waited till he got some sort of 'yes sir' out of the class before he continued. 'Now let's talk about today, shall we? There are a couple of matters we should attend tho. We will be going through your schedules, there might be classes on there you didn't have last year. I will be here to answer any questions you about those. We will also be choosing a class president. But for starters, it's the start of the school year and I figure that not everyone knows each other, so let's start with a roll call followed by a brief introduction right away when I call your name.' For a moment Corbyn looked around the classroom to see if everything sank in. 'Alright, let's start with the front row shall we'

I am young, don't know 'bout love...
we are wild, can't get enough~
Quinn stood in the girls bathroom eying herself in the mirror, brushing a metal comb through her long black hair. Carefully making sure that she had rid herself of any remaining bed-head kinks, it looked much better now. It had been a pretty bad rats-nest of hair this morning, but fortunately not many got to see her in that state. Once she managed to drag her sleepy self into a shower and eat something, she was had finally become awake enough to get to work. These early mornings weren't going to be easy for her, she would do anything to go back and nap. But even more so Quinn liked to remain as prim and presentable as possible. She quickly set about tying her hair into twin ponytail, positioning a black bow into each one. She did a little spin, brushing down her clothes, "Perfect!" She reassured herself before heading out. She was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, coupled with a beige sweater vest. On her bottom half sporting a grey pleated skirt, white knee highs and her usual black plimsoles. It was a little warm today so she decided against a jacket.
She collected her pre-packed bag off the side, and made her way out of her dorm. Heading out towards to her first event of the day, homeroom, with a Mr Corbyn Dumas. She wasn't sure what to expect of this, having never been required in a homeroom class before. But this school was a little more efficient in comparison to the last school she had been in. When she arrived, she pushed the door open, there were several students in their already but no signs of a teacher. This was good. Quinn scanned the room, trying to work out the best place for a seat. After a moment, she settled on slightly centre right, a little closer to the window. She sat herself down, reaching up, she ran her fingers through one of her pigtails. Leaning forward in her seat, with an already bored expression, she eyed the students around her. The awkward interactions between them as they attempted to find someway of fitting in. There was one or two students that looked interesting enough, but still, she would wait. She wanted to see what those around her were capable of first.
She pulled out her notebook and retrieved a pen from her pencil case, deciding this would likely be all she needed for the time being. She sat back in her seat, watching and waiting. Soon the class was bustling with lots of bodies, a variation of sounds and scents. Quinn could individually sniff out every body in the room, her strong nose wriggling slightly from the intensity of it. It was a lot to take in for the feline, back at home, she had gotten so used to everyone's scent it was highly dulled in comparison. However this new environment with all these new people, she wondered how long it would take for her to adapt.
The teacher entered the room with a commanding presence, Quinn instantly picked up a rather feral scent from him. She leaned forward in her seat, eyes glinting, she was intrigued. Unfamiliar with this species scent. She listened attentively, idling scrawling on her notepad as he spoke. Homeroom - Mr Dumas. Only glancing around when he specifically referred to a Miss Hayamoto, curious to see who he was talking to before glancing back. She followed the rest of his class breakdown, her eyes widening at another remark. She scrawled down on her pad, Class president and underlined it three times. With a role like that, she could seriously emit herself in the class, it would probably involve a lot of tedious responsibilities. But it was the perfect sell to her folks back home, good little Quinn, class president and straight A student. As long as she maintained that image, she could have as much fun as she wanted. She sat in her seat, waiting as the class began to set about their introductions, preparing her own in her head as they reeled them off one by one.

Kaname was deeply embarrassed by being called out in front of the class. So much for not getting in trouble. She would have concealed the weapon with her ability, but the stern admonition to keep Talents under wraps discouraged her. Kaname quietly did as she was told and laid the weapon flat on the ground and next to her desk. She wanted to use her Invisibility and disappear for awhile.
It was a good thing that she had chosen a seat in the back because her face was still burning red. She let the students in front of the class give their intros. She did not want to draw any more attention to herself than necessary because she had already painted a target on her back. That Wendigo man was scary. She kept her facial expression neutral in an effort to avoid being called out yet again.

I slowly open my eyes and shut them down immediately. The light that poured into the room was bright. "Shit," I open my eyes in a panic and looked at the alarm. "Oh no!" I overslept and didn't have much time to get to class. I looked through the pile of clothing on my chair. I took a black and yellow sweater and green shorts and got dressed. I grabbed a bag and shoved some notebooks and pencils into it. "I'm I forgetting something?" I looked around the room, it didn't seem like it and I went off towards class.
I ran through the halls and found the classroom. Others were seated already but the teacher wasn't there yet. That's a relief. I took a position in the front of the classroom and took a notebook and a pencil out of my bag. It was now waiting until the teacher came, I looked outside the window and saw my own reflection gazing at me. A reflection with very messy hair. Shit. I brushed with my hands through my hair to get it to look like something but all efforts were in fain.
The teacher entered the room, there was something that followed him. A feeling, a chill or aura. Something that made you feel uneasy, on edge. The teacher did his say and, shit why did I take. I shifted around on my seat so I see most of the class, and most of the class me. "Eh. I'm Ethan Hopkins, 16 years old, eh. 11grade and I come from Metropolis." I said as I scratched behind my head.

A bit of a stickler, wasn't he? As soon as the teacher entered the class, what was once a bunch of rambunctious and noisy kids very quickly turned into the quietest class in the entire school. It even gave the library a run for its money, which was rather impressive. Not having had Mr. Dumas before Olivia was unsure of what to expect from him, but if he could imagine to silence an entire class with just a look them he must have quite the reputation. Which, was something the ghost didn't mind. It merely meant he would be able to keep everyone in place, which was rare for most teachers. Olivia kept her eyes on him as he moved across the room, sitting up straight in her seat. He seemed to stare right into each one of them. A bit unnerving, to say the least. Something told her the kids in this class were not the ones she had to worry about this year... His rules, while being a bit harsh, were pretty run of the mill. Olivia figured if she just kept her head down like all those other years and worked she could get through it. Just a few more years here, then she could leave this place that was basically her grave.
When Dumas referred to the hybrid ghost girl and her weapon Liv's pink eyes traveled over to her, though only lingered long enough to see if she would put down her sword. A bit of a strange girl, carrying around a weapon where ever she went. Wasn't that against the school rules? What was going to be next, a gun? Given the strict security it was weird such a thing was allowed, but seeing the rest of her class it wasn't the only thing that was strange. Particularly, the shadow person who sat at the back. They were the first person Olivia had noticed as soon as she walked in. They did stand out rather well. She could already tell this was going to be an interesting year. Resting her cheek onto the back of her hand Olivia looked about the rest of the front row, wondering who would have the guts to go first with introducing themselves. Would it be her... Again? It had happened last year, so she was fully prepared to take the icy dive if no one else would. Though thankfully a boy a couple of seats away from her piped up. Ethan, his name was. A bit of a screw up perhaps, given he had taken a bit of class to brush his messy hair when she was silently taking her time judging the people around her. But who knows, maybe he would eventually impress her somehow. When Ethan finished Olivia stood up from her seat, figuring she would be next, mostly to get it over and done with. The only introductions anyone remembers were the first and last anyway. Olivia's gaze looked over her peers coldly. "Olivia Hawthorne. And before you ask behind my back, yes, those Hawthornes" she stated rather bluntly, referring to the bad name her family had among mythical beasts and hybrids. A few if not all of them had probably heard of the bad reputation from their parents or the media. Her name brought misfortune to her in these types of places, so she figured she would straight up say it instead of letting them spread more rumors than there already were. "Seventeen, eleventh grade. Due to legal reasons i cannot disclose where i grew up, though it is somewhere in Mistere." She would pause to nod her head to them, a sort of bow without actually doing so. "I hope for a pleasant school year with you all." Done with her intro and pretty content with it she took her seat, keeping her eyes forward as to not look at their reactions, whatever they may be.

It was a new school year. The sky was blue, and birds were chirping outside. Ariya Vuldotter had just left the coffee shop, and was now headed to her homeroom class. She actually would've already graduated from the high school part of the academy, but she had decided to stay at least one more year. She wanted to get as much of her high school stuff done before getting her actual high school diploma, or the equivalent of it anyway.
Ariya walked into the classroom, her bag and all her school stuff for this class, as well as all the other classes she would be attending before lunch, and looked around. A bunch of other students were chit-chatting with each other, some seemed like they actually knew each other, while a few seemed to be acquainting themselves with one another. Ariya looked around for an unoccupied seat. Once she did, she got out a notebook and a pencil, and hung her bag on her chair, and sat down.
Soon after that, the teacher arrived. Ariya's fox ears and fox tail all twitched nervously. This man held an aura that was both commanding, and unnerving. She honestly felt a little bit scared, but she tried to push those feelings down into the back burner of her mind. After all, teachers weren't supposed to get physical with their students, right? She wasn't so sure about this guy though.
Soon, all the other students settled down in their seats, and the teacher, 'Mr. Dumas' seemed to be his name, and explained the rules of his class and what the class was about. She heard him talk about class scheduling and all that stuff. That was all pretty basic stuff to someone like Ariya, who was in their 'super senior' year of high school, or that part of the school.
Ariya then heard him say that they were going to do a role-call, and a couple of students, a blonde guy named Ethan, and a girl named Olivia, who was a member of the infamous Hawthorne family, introduced themselves. Since she was sitting in one of the sort of middle seats, she decided to wait and let others introduce themselves first before she did.

It got to the point where Kaname could not avoid it any longer. She had to give her introduction because every student on her row who was in front of her had already done so. Kaname silently took a breath and stood up. She spoke to the class as confidently as she could. She could feel the eyes of Mr. Dumas burning into her even when he did not look directly at her.
"I'm Hayamoto Kaname. I'm in the 9th Grade. I'm from Mistere." Kaname said before quietly and smoothly sitting down. She was glad that was over. She just wanted to get through this day and return to her dorm or hit the walking track.
