welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

"Hmmmm..." Adrisse debated, tapping her chin for a few moments in intense mock deliberation. Kaiden's idea was better than any she could come up with, but she still had to make it seem like she'd had other ideas unspoken that were on par with his. The girl was loyal and playful, but also pretty competitive. Whether she meant to or not, it seemed she was always in some sort of one-sided mental competition. And everyone wondered why she loved naps so much...it was exhausting! "Yeah, I guess that's a pretty good idea. You do the calling, and I'll do the heavy lifting. You know, so your pretty face and delicate hands remain unblemished," teased his partner in justice, grinning before refocusing herself to the task she'd assigned herself.
Hands flew to her various pouches and pockets, trying to locate one of her shrunken items, no doubt. It seemed whatever it was, she'd misplaced it. Grumbling to herself she pulled handful upon handful of bubbles holding teeny tiny things that were useful in nearly any situation she'd been able to plan ahead for, yet it wasn't until the last pouch that she found the few she sought. Leaning forward, Adrisse eyeballed some measurements, though she flinched back as soon as she could. "Seriously, what are you trying to mask with that god-awful scent? Are you actually a zombie and smell like rot or something? Bless these employees of yours for having to endure it for so long..." commented the grim, choosing only one of the bubbles and replacing the others. With a small wave the clear orb disappeared and a good length of rope sprung back to normal size. She coiled it over her shoulder and descended upon Jimbo, wrestling him not unlike a hog on a farm. Within moments he had his hands and feet bound and his entire pretty much wound up. After knotting she threw the excess over a rafter in the ceiling and proceeded to start stringing him up, though it seemed she might not have the strength to get someone so...thick... as high into the air as she imagined. "Nnnngh!" she grunted with effort, refusing to ask for help. "Grrrr!!"

After he gave his idea some time to be thought about, it seemed like Adrisse agreed with it. Although judging by her facial expression it seemed like she might've had some other plans as well. He couldn't really claim to know her very well yet, but from what he HAD seen and figured out about the Church Grim so far, he could guess those other ideas might not be as friendly as his. Of course, Jim sure as hell didn't deserve friendly treatment after everything he had done, but Kaiden wasn't without mercy. After all, how could he be better than Jimbo if he responded to cruelty with cruelty? It didn't make much sense to him, and he was often confused as to why so many people jumped to that conclusion.
He hoisted his blade onto his shoulder and was about to walk towards the man when he noticed Adrisse pull something out of her pouch. Of course, he should've expected as much by now. She had something for everything it seemed. A very useful talent she had, no matter how simple it may seem. "Oh, good! You have some rope! Now I'll grab his legs and you c-" He was cut short however by the sudden actions the Church Grim made. Before he could even finish speaking, she was already upon him, tying up the struggling man until he could struggle no more. "Oh! Uh.. Th- That works too I guess." He responded with a nervous chuckle as he watched Adrisse then attempt to pull the fat man upwards towards the ceiling. He stared at her for a few moments as it was obvious she was struggling, yet she did not ask for assistance. Being the gentlemen he was, Kaiden decided he'd lend a hand. "Uhh, here. Let me help with that." He said, positioning himself across from her as he grabbed a higher space of rope, and began to pull! Soon Jim was hoisted up, hanging upside down with his little fat body squirming around, but his speech was muffled due to the gag in his mouth. He couldn't help but chuckle at the site.
The boy then looked on towards Jim's fallen companions. "Guess we should tie these guys up too, in case they wake up and undo our little art piece here." Kaiden exclaimed, before turning back to his companion. "Got any extra rope?" He asked, not sure if it was a stupid question or not.

Oh good, she hadn't had to ask or look stupid trying to do it by herself for very long. The boy stepped in and in just a jiffy he was literally swinging from the rafters. Stepping back and dusting her hands from rope fibers and seemingly tangible Jimbo smell, she glanced over at her partner in justice and gave him a toothy grin. For about the millionth time she internally admitted he wasn't so bad for a human. She'd still be overly cautious of them in general, but she wasn't so complex that she couldn't be quickly won over by a good soul. Kaiden was a good soul, she could just feel it. He wasn't a cruel person, and having encountered many unreasonably selfish and cruel people, it was nice to know there were still some humans out there that wouldn't bury a soul alive to force them guard their dead for all of eternity without so much as thinking about what that poor soul wanted!
Snapping from the dark place her mind had momentarily dipped into, she heard the question the blue eyed swordsman asked her. "Oh, Kaiden, Kaiden! Of course I have more rope. I have almost anything you could need in these pockets," Adrisse gushed, rather proud of her peculiar talent. Was it peculiar, though? Really, all talents were. Hers was just deceptively useful for being so simple. If only he knew how it came about. That answer hung from a chain around her neck, looking like a simple charm but close to her heart. Such was her curse to always carry it with her or risk losing her second lease on life. Digging out the other small orbs of lengths of rope, she tossed a couple at her new friend. "Thank fast!" she giggled, since just as they neared him they'd unshrink into a couple normal sized coils of rope. She took her own two and went to bind the two olfs she knocked out earlier.
Once finished she looked around, making sure everything was taken care of. Everyone was bound, Jimbo was still wiggling though his whole head was red. The ledger was open on the table, and all the nice stuff on the shelves that had been sold and stolen back who knows how many times were ready to go to their rightful places. What was left for them to do? Was it all over already? She huffed a wistful sigh. "I guess it's back to school already..." she muttered to herself, resting her hands on her hips.

Lucky for the both of them, Adrisse seemed to come packing with everything they needed. What a relief. It was as he thought. Her talent seemed to be extremely useful, and the more he thought about what other stuff she could possibly be hiding in there, the more he wished for a similar ability. Think of all the snacks you could store and just pull out whenever. Maybe even carry his sword in such a small concealed space. Would make lugging Darksteel around a whole lot easier, that's for sure. However, that ability only belonged to Adrisse as far as he knew, and he wasn't too sure if it was possible he could ever attain such a power. Not that it mattered much now, though. They had to tie up the rest of these criminals!
A few minutes passed and Kaiden grunted, dropping the last knocked out thug on the floor with his legs and arms bound. He wouldn't lie to himself and say that these guys weren't heavy. Jim spared no expense when hiring capable muscle after all. Of course, he wasn't expecting a couple of talent using students to get in his business though. Now that that was settled, Kaiden sighed and turned back to his partner and arched his eyebrow curiously when he had heard what she said.
"School? Are you a student at Eldritch as well?" He questioned. It wasn't uncommon for students to pop up around town like this, although Kaiden had never seen her face prior to this day before. Would explain how she was capable of using her talent with such ease and experience though, she must've trained at the academy like him. This opened up the opportunity for a possible friendship between them though, and that made Kaiden smile. He didn't know a too lot about Adrisse, but from what he had seen she seemed like a pretty laid back gal. He wouldn't mind adding her to his mental list of friends. After all, despite its many beauties, this world was still filled with danger. It would be smart to have capable people by your side when you need them. "I'm from Cobalt dorm, how abut you?"

Smiling at a job well done, the expression carried over to his now casual conversation concerning school. With a nod, she answered him about her status as a student at the illustrious school in Mistere, though her eyes brightened even more when he revealed his dorm. "Also cobalt!" she chirped happily, not having many friends from her classes hailing from the blue-themed living space. She had yet to move in, actually, but that was a task she planned to remedy soon. "Maybe we'll have some classes together," Adrisse spoke her hopes aloud, turning and making her way back out of Jimbo's room of secret stashes and through the store proper. Her sensitive nose had had about enough of his stench as she could handle. It was time for some fresh air.
Once outside, she inhaled deeply as if she'd been stuck underwater nearly to the point of drowning. Not that it'd help, but she rubbed her poor nose just for good measure. "Are we all good here?" she asked now, wanting to make sure before her day veered back into it's expected path. She wouldn't voice it, but she was pleased her new friend had offered her a bit of excitement. Things had been too drab. Adrisse was never one to suffer boredom, but it was certainly settling into that rut. Maybe hanging around him more would bring more of those unexpected twists her way? "We should definitely get a coffee on campus one day soon. Keep in touch, you know?"

So his suspicions were correct. She was indeed a student that went to the same school as he did. Odd he hadn't seen her face around before, but then again the academy was a large place and there were probably hundreds of students, dare he say even a few thousand that attended. Although she certainly looked to be around his age, at least by appearances went anyway. He wasn't completely familiar with her species exactly, only what he had heard through passing and the occasional textbook blurb. FOr all he knew she could be a thousand years old... Now wouldn't that be something?
Kaiden quickly shook the thought though when Adrisse told him she was also in Cobalt! What a coincidence he thought. A welcomed one at least. This was really the first time he had done anything of this magnitude with anyone from his dorm, let alone his school! Made this day a lot more exciting than it already was. "Aye, hopefully we do." He answered truthfully. He'd like to see her again anyways, she seemed like a cool person. A breath of fresh air for Kaiden at least. It'd been a long time since he was actually doing something productive with his time that didn't involve school or work. BUsting criminals with a friend certainly put the rest of his week into perspective.
As they exited the building, Kaiden had a phone to his ear, with his other hand resting in his pocket. "L- Look, I understand you're upset... Y- Yeah, I'm aware.... Well why do you THINK I'm calling? ... "A- Alright just calm down and come to the store, alright? ... NO I'm not going to ROB you! On the contrary actually, you'll be getting some stolen stuff back... Uh hu... Right well, you'll see what I mean." Kaiden grumbled as he hung up the phone and threw it back into his jacket's inside pocket. "Never thought people would be so ungrateful to get their things back. They accused me of trying to lure them into a trap! ME! Of all people!" He exclaimed through a half irritated chuckle.
Kaiden nodded. He'd like to stay in touch, it was too often he found himself in these kinds of situations alone. It'd be nice to have back up he could count on. Maybe they could make a habit of finding these scum bags and clean them up. It worked so well this time anyways. "Aye, I'd like that." Kaiden said. He pulled out a small notebook from his jacket pocket. "Uhh. Here! If you ever come across people like this, what say we tag team, huh?" He chuckled, scribbling a number onto a blank page before ripping it out of the book and handing it to Adrisse. "Feel free to give me a ring anytime."
