welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

[attr="class","boneshatter1"] [attr="class","boneshatter2"] | AND WE'LL NEVER STOP
'CAUSE WE'RE ONLY GETTING BETTER
--- ALIVE AGAIN, ANOTHER DAY, I'M NOT AFRAID TO GET OVER --- |
[attr="class","boneshatter3"]It wasn’t often that Clementine had gotten lost anywhere. Honestly, she should have waited for her sister, her twin, or or elder brother, but the stubbornness of this twin preceded the need for a logical choice in the matter. Besides, she wanted to go at a certain time so that she could be home at a decent time as well. If there was one thing she tended to do when she could help it, was to be punctual and in routine. If a class began at a certain time, she made sure to plan around it so that she could get there early or just on time. If circumstances beyond the Acolyte students control had happened, then so be it. There wasn’t anything that she could really do to stop it in that case. She just had to let it happen and then deal with the aftermath surrounding the circumstances of the mistimed incident that occurred. Much to her brothers dismay as of recent, she wasn’t much so bothered with having to spend time with him since she had the free time at the time, much less to ticking him off in the process.
As to now, she had been wandering around a few streets, a little too short to really know where landmarks had been at first until she was either across the street or at the wrong facing intersection. It was a wonder children didn’t go out alone. She was an easy Mark for any kidnapper that wanted to snatch her up... but they’d be sorely mistaken trying to take this girl. Not to mention being alone, even without her own twin in unfamiliar areas shook her a lot more than she thought it would. The bond she had with Zucchini was untethering, so to be in a situation like this was new to her, and so was the creeping fear and worry.
The streets quickly began to scatter and clear as the skies darkened. Just after exiting a store to help calm her nerves, she had bought a few things to just help ease her mindset, but when she did, the sudden gushing rain had started to push everyone away. ”I.. don’t quite remember this in the forecast. This is why Fox News sucks...” With a small sigh, the young girl began to walk through the rain for a moment and then halted underneath an overhang. It was already too late, she was soaked from head-to-toe, the water dripping from the ends of her hair, sleeves, and skirt. ”What makes this worse is the mushy feeling of my socks in my shoes... just fantastic. I’m stuck until the rain let’s up.” With a moot look neutrality as always, she looked up at the dark skies above her.
This was gonna be a long day...

The Vamp Wolf | Somehow, someway, this was turning out to be a waste of time too. The only reason why the tall young man had chosen to take a trip to the more busier areas of the city was because he was getting increasingly bored of hanging around the school grounds as the day progressed, but if he were to be honest, he was no more excited about life than he had been a few hours before despite the change of scenery. He was seriously starting to sound like a cranky old man even to himself at this point. It was just so easy to not be really satisfied by nearly anything. Frankly, he had no idea how some of the happy-go-lucky people did it. He couldn't be assed, and in many cases, couldn't care less either. Most of daily life was simply not...all that interesting or entertaining. Either that, or he just had a problem. He couldn't be sure. Regardless, he had spent a decent while wandering around more or less aimlessly, kind of undecided on what to even do. Shopping wasn't necessary at the moment, and while he could have gone to get some food, finding a place that had stuff he could eat without any issue would be sort of tough. Oh he was totally having fun, especially when fate decided to put the final nail in the coffin by making it start raining nearly out of nowhere. Cursed weather. On one hand, he did like rain, but on the other it wasn't entirely pleasant to be stuck in soaked clothes for an extended amount of time. Did he have a choice though? No, not quite. With a sigh, he'd walk through the rain shower for a while, until deciding he had enough and it didn't appear to want to stop just yet. Therefore, it was time to make an emergency escape, which would end up with him sharing a cover with what looked like a younger girl. Probably. Guessing actual age could be hard. Mentally shrugging to himself, he'd try to adjust his now wet hair as he spoke up, figuring that it'd be more awkward to just come around and stand there silently. "You're out here alone too?" |

[attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]words [attr="class","gold"]notes ulla [attr="class","sun"]A Foreign Sun * I never thought I'd see Rain, rain go away…come again another day. The rhyme fitted the dreary nature of the dark greyish fluff trailing after the white cotton clouds in the sky. Replace ‘trailing’ with chasing. In her eyes that’s exactly what was happening as the powdery white were being chased off by the ‘cat’ in a cloud version of cat and mouse. The cat role obviously taken over by the sombre grey, darkened to the gills with what she perceived would be hours’ worth of rain.
How… frustratingly ‘lucky’ the girl’s sighed in frustration. Amethyst eyes lingering with a frown at the sky as a few droplets began to drizzle from the sky. Dammit, she moved in almost mechanical fashion to bring the umbrella she had over her head up again to keep herself from getting wet. Lucky really that as an albino she always had to have an umbrella with her , sensitive skin you see, albinos are notorious for their easily fried skin and she wasn’t any different from the norm. Her only luck is well nothing. There was no lucky side to having burnt skin.
The joys of lacking melanin. The girl quelled her inner temptation at rolling her eyes, instead she merely mumbled a few choice words under her native tongue before schooling her own expression back to its serene, lady-like state.
A lady mustn’t act uncouth in public, she shivered remembering all the lessons her governess pounded into her head to get her to such a presentable state of grace. Water soaked into the bottom fabric of her light lavender kimono dampening the fabric with both rain and dirt. Brilliant…
Just brilliant. Her socks weren’t going to like this either but that’s what she gets for wearing sandals instead of actual shoes.
Another sigh followed the last one as tried ignoring the hurried paces people around took to get away from the steadily gaining strength of the rain. From the light drizzle it started with to the shower it was now. Oh hells, the girl internally kept the line of swears wanting to leap out of her throat. In private, she can squeal about it. But in public, sighing would have to do.
It wasn’t until she turned to another corner of the street, right towards the second avenue she needed to take to get to the road back to campus did she spot an interesting looking antique store but that wasn’t what really drew her in. First might be that reason but the second reason was the two people standing underneath its overhang. Soaked like a bunch of two kittens who took a dip in a river. Ouch, she winced slightly before admitting one hell of a defeat when she saw her socks getting soaked through her tabi sandals. Well… guess who was going to join them in waiting? Sure she has an umbrella but she wasn’t keen on the idea of walking to school in slippery sandals.

[attr="class","boneshatter3"]The harsh way the rain continually smacked and pounded on the overhang had made it a little harder for the young girl to be able to hear herself think. Truthfully, it wasn’t so loud at all, but she preferred the peace and quiet, so the louder sounds were always irritating to her. Granted, it could always be worse. She could be left with some Chatty Cathy whom couldn’t shut their trap for 5 seconds. Her attention turned to the soaked clothing she wore, giving a mental sigh while she seemed to just be neutrally glaring as if her stare would dry the clothes any faster. Logically, that was impossible, but sometimes her young mind preceded her thinking. No matter, she couldn’t think of a store nearby that sold umbrellas, so it seemed as though she would be stuck here for a while until it let up enough. Hopefully this wouldn’t lead her to a cold, or it’ll be a cold day in hell for her...
As Clementine has brought her head up from her own watered down figure, she had felt as though someone had joined- not that the sound of footsteps in the rain had helped anyway. She looked to her right in direction as another person had joined her, equally if not more wet than she had been. Slowly, the girls eyes made their way up to his while he began to fix his hair. She quietly watched, slightly in awe with the scar on his wrist. What could cause such a unique, but interesting looking scarring pattern had her rather interested. ”Yeah. I wasn’t originally, but my airheaded sister must have forgotten we were coming out together.” Though her tone was neutral, it wasn’t hard to detect the bit of annoyance in how she had structured her sentence. Not that it mattered to her. She always spoke her mind how it was anyway. ”How about you? You seem a little impartial to this weather.” Her deduction might not have been right on point, but she wasn’t being paid to observe.. or being paid at all for that matter.
Finally, a saving grace seemed to come, hopefully one with a caring heart. From the look away, Clementine noticed it was a girl with an umbrella, something she desperately needed to get home safe in, but more importantly, she wanted to have the chance to get her things home before the rain ruined some of her crafting supplies— or rather her sisters. It took her a moment before she noticed the reason for her suddenly joining the pair of soaked people- soaked socks. Sure, either if not both of the others might have the same issue, but at least she was dry! ”What possessed you to wear sandals and socks in the rain?” She suddenly blurred out, not really waiting for a chance to say hi or welcome her to the group of dripping persons club. ”Oh well... I suppose there’s no use in raising tensions... though if we don’t get changed we’ll both most likely end up sick.” And with that, she let out a sudden sneeze, a sniffle, and then a sigh of annoyance in probably being more right than she wanted to be.. unless it was just a fluke sneeze.

The Vamp Wolf | "People have such huge brains, and they still forget. It's certainly disappointing.", he'd comment back with a faint hum as he worked on putting his hair into a ponytail. At least that'd make for less dripping all over the place for now. In any case, he didn't have much more to say to that, as personally, he'd probably be secretly happy to be forgotten about. Especially if the person he was to hang out with was someone too energetic. Getting rid of such people was never a waste, because it certainly improved his mental sanity to take breaks from big amounts of bubbly behavior. The tall young man would blink. "Impartial? Well, I suppose I don't really care, no. I normally like rain. It is somewhat uncalled for in these circumstances though. Therefore I can't exactly call it good or bad....at least it's a break from a boring day though." If he was somewhere else, he could have dealt with this better, but in the middle of the city like this, he was stuck hiding for it was the simpler option. It was fine though...he wasn't really in a hurry anyway.
Albeit the arrival of another person did make him rethink that a little bit. A crowd gathering under here could mean a lot of excessive chatter, and he had not consciously signed up for that. Just his luck, really. For the time being however, he was finding this somewhat amusing, so he'd let it be. In fact, he'd snort slightly when the question of wearing socks and sandals came up. The answer to that was easy enough, considering that the rain came out of nowhere, but the delivery in itself was kind of funny in this situation. "There's no saying when the rain will let up though...you might not be changing anytime soon if it keeps up." He couldn't tell, and the weather was clearly proving to be unpredictable today. Personally, he wasn't too worried, as he wasn't extremely likely to get sick unless he purposefully stayed like this all day. He was more or less used to being out in the rain, even though normally not in human form, which is the one thing that made it the most annoying this time around. Wet clothes were such a bother. |

[attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]words [attr="class","gold"]notes ulla [attr="class","sun"]A Foreign Sun * I never thought I'd see Why indeed?...
The girl’s brow elegantly rose from its neutral state. Arching in response to the young child’s outburst about her footwear. Her question had every piece of merit in the right place. Except… for forgetting one tiny detail in their shared situation.
The rain came unexpected.
Much like a weather ninja springing its trap on the unsuspecting array of victims minding their own business. And struck it did, the loud splatters of rain meeting concrete sidewalk amplified the weight of her own internal argument. “Etto… it seems the weather man made a slight error in his report this morning.” The girl made a pass to sigh as she made her way into underneath the shop’s overhang to join the two in their impromptu shelter from the pouring rain. From the looks of it she doubted it was going to stop anytime soon. If… ever for the entire night.
See this is why Nai has her qualms over trusting the weather program when mother herself has long proven herself to be an unpredictable force. Right now, mother nature was one unhappy mother. The girl internally mused, joking to herself to alleviate her own internal annoyance. “The news never said anything about rain so it never crossed my mind to wear something else.” She responded in the same mild-mannered tone of a mother patiently responding to a curious child. The chill was real, even Nai felt the touch of autumn within the hardened gust from the storm powered winds. They… might not be in for a normal rain shower.
They might be in for a storm. Realizing this did nothing to pacify the girl’s hidden annoyance. Her feet were wet, and now there’s a chance her newly purchased fabric would get wet on the way home. Today certainly didn’t look to be all that good to decide to do some last minute shopping but in her defence. She blames the ongoing announcement of a sale from one of her favourite fabric shops and home depots.
“Seems like its not going to stop anytime soon… So changing wouldn’t really matter now until we get ourselves home. Though…” She blinked towards her temporary companions. “Are you also from the academy by chance?” She queried, trying to remember if she saw their faces within the campus or in one of her numerous classes.
She asked and the girl… responded with a sneeze. Or she hopes its not the girl’s answer but hearing a child sneeze normally meant the cold air is getting to the child. Cold means sickness… the older man didn’t look any better either at the very she was still somewhat dry except for her socks she was still dry. “Here…” The silver child relented into offering the contents of one of her bags. Looks like that sale on towels was a literal godsend right now. That and how she had been thinking of getting new towels to begin with. “Might as well make you both a bit dry, rather than suffer a cold.” She sighed, offering a towel each towards the two.

[attr="class","boneshatter3"]The neutral expression of the younger girl had looked up.. well quite a way as their height was far and few in between from one another. The male had made a rather well put statement, though if it were anyone else that she didn't know... she might have been more inclined to agree to it. "My sister has her moments. Mostly include fashion themes and since we share a room, I end up playing guinea pig to some of her outfit creations." Her reply had seemed to drift away from the notion that she was complaining at all about it, though it could be noted for a brief moment that she had a smile --small at that, on her face. Though it did seem as though the rain helped bring around interesting people. This time just so happened to be a person whom didn't fawn over a lost child in the rain and acting worried or overprotective. It was appreciated, no matter how little it was actually brought around or not. Then again, when she thought more into the subject, she had no idea what age she could be perceived to be to another person, but at least the older company helped ease her mind on other possibilities or outcomes that could surface.
Another upside to this older male hiding from the oppressing rain was the commonality over the rain. While it wasn't really the best of things right now, the general consensus was noted that it was definitely more beneficial to more than just the environment. "Well, at the least it's quieted down the streets. The amount of crowd noise was more frustrating than anything, so I suppose this is an acceptable payment for some peace and quiet." Looking out to the darker, dreary streets ahead of them showed this definitely was not going anywhere, if it was going to even let the rain up and keep the sun from the city. It mattered little, honestly, so long as the overhang the pair had been under didn't suddenly get destroyed. "Hm.. Point noted." She replied simply, taking her attention toward the new arrival.
Even she, holding an umbrella had decided to use this overhang as a break point for her to most likely rest before pressing on to wherever she was headed. While Clementine's prior snap of a comment over her choice of attire had been laid out, it was countered rather logically to a point even she couldn't argue for. "That's true. It's not everyday I see someone dress like that." She meant no ill intentions from her comment, but her form of an even remotely mix of a casually formal attire was.. well what the younger girl was wearing right now. And even then, it wasn't something she'd worn of her own accord. Before she could reply to the question of her and the stranger next to her about attending the academy, the girls sneeze had brought up a rather unintentional pause in response long enough for her to be offered a towel to dry off some with."O-Oh, thank you." She spoke, slightly flushed pink in the cheeks from the kind gesture shown. "Yes, i'm Clementine Smith, 7th grade." She gave a slight curtsy, using her wet clothing while the towel was tucked under her left arm for a moment. Drying herself off as best she could, she draped it over herself to keep herself warm, making sure that she had kept her hair outside of the hugging towel. "Sadly, my dorm is the furthest from here anyway. I don't believe trying to make a break for it would be a smart idea..." Clementine made a small sigh, looking out to the rain before she had shrugged and pulled the towel around her body a little tighter, preserving any gained warmth she'd gotten with it. The Vamp Wolf | “Reminds me why I’m glad to not have siblings. I’d be driven to insanity.” Commenting casually towards the reveal about fashion guinea pigs, Sharaku would faintly huff to himself. That simply sounded like a nightmare in his mind. Being made to do anything ridiculous like that was low on his list of things he was happy to endure. Not to say that it was already a miracle he existed anyway, so siblings were way too unlikely for him to happen. Regardless, no, he was not the type to fawn over kids, even when he recognized them as such. Willing to help if there was a need for it, sure, but outside of that he was far from what one would label a kid person. Typical children were far too…well, childish in nature for him to withstand. It was no secret that he was just bad at that, through and through, and forcing himself only lasted for so long.
Brushing a stray strand of hair from his face, the tall young man would remain silent as the topic about the choice of clothes passed by. He could have made a comment, but figured it wasn’t important enough. Investing a lot of thought into which attires were common was not something he did either way, so his opinion wouldn’t be a very informed one were he to speak up. Looking out into the pouring rain for a moment, he’d snap his attention back to the other two as the younger girl sneezed, and towels were promptly offered soon after. “There’s no need. I will be fine.”, he’d wave a hand with a shake of his head. As inconvenient as the wetness was, it didn’t bother him to such an extent. Besides, chances were they’d take a dip again if they ended up having to make a run for it through the rain due to it not letting up. “Right though. It’s Sharaku Rikei. I’m in college.” Guess he really was stuck with some younger people, eh? Well, so far he wasn’t having too much issue, thankfully.
“I could get all the way to the dorms fairly fast, but the whole reason I’m here is because I didn’t want to do that. It’s a pain.” He did have options, but none of them were the greatest when taking in mind their location, although it was still better than being stuck forever if this rain refused to leave…. |

Drip….
Crash… hear that? That’s another raindrop crashing down into the ground. Breaking in numerous tiny watery pieces before it soaked into the gravelled street. Now imagine, several hundreds, to thousands of them following suit? All falling from gravity shoving them down. Rain effected Kurenai in a couple of ways. The sound they gave calmed her whenever she was indoors and away from the second effect it has; getting soaked. And the last annoyance, annoyance whenever the rain catches her off guard. She lost count of the times the rain tried to do that, and those times she also counted its given success. She did have a few experiences where she was soaked through whenever she went out without her trusted umbrella.
Today though, wasn’t one of those days. Somewhat… her socks were the only casualty caused by this downpour. Speaking of which…
The child’s lavender gaze, as light purple as freshly refined stone of amethyst glaring back from the jeweler’s hand lifted their gaze from her impromptu companions to gaze the gathering dark clouds hovering over them. Seems like, today was another day someone up there decided to either sob or ‘water’ the poor human plants they have growing within the plot of soul they called world. Water or… merely dumping the contents of the watering can? Number two seems to be feasible than option one.
“No problem…” Her purple eyes flickered over to the girl who accepted her offer. The gentleness of her tone went alongside with the soft dainty elegance of her actions. Nothing went to waste as she gracefully nodded towards the other man declining her offer as she drew back the towel meant for him. Stashing it back into the bag she pulled it from. If he says he’s fine, then who was she to force it down his throat?
No, the gentle bean wasn’t the kind to take her words and shove it down another person’s throat. Not only would it be a waste of effort but one that proves to do far more harm than any good. Did someone accidentally goof at a summoning? A sudden thought came into mind. Following the musing train of thoughts prior. Summoning… is feasible. When thinking about the sort of studies they deal with in the academy. Someone messing up their talent? Another excuse. Kurenai was trying to find excuses, anything logical that would explain their plight. Something other than the unpredictable nature Mother nature has.
“Do you—” She blinked only stop when her question nearly collided with the girl’s introduction, such faux pass! Not the child, but her near breech of etiquette. Wisely she paused, letting the girl finish her introduction and a brief confirmation towards her earlier query. These two… were fellow students just a different grade. Clementine is, but the man called Sharaku hardly surprised her, she guessed he would be in the same level as she is. Different year or whichever.
“Clementine… is that like those sweet oranges Mystere is famous for?... O-Oh sorry where’s my manners. Uhm… Shimazu Kurenai, I’m also in college…Nice to meet you both.” The child awkwardly phrased the last part. She knew, she damn knew people often didn’t think her age fitted their perspective of someone getting into the last dive of the educational ladder. She by all accounts should be a happy high school ‘freshie’ instead of being with the grown adults. But see, Kurenai never knew the term ‘overkill’ until… it bit her right back in the arse.
“My dorms… unfortunately is a rather long walk….” The child sighed. Hiding the bare tinged of annoyance that managed to escape into her tone. “45 minutes… down the path since the bus doesn’t go all the way in….”
