♦ CHARACTER INFORMATION ♦
Name: Oras Aventra Auro
Gender: Male
Age: 103 material years old
Occupation: Traveler. Occupation varies on assignment summoner provides them with. Prefers to be an adventurer.
Height: True form: 7'11. Material form: 5'10
Appearance: True form: In his original form he stands at an intimidating seven feet and eleven inches tall as a being of solid ice. His torso isn't bulky in any shape or form, built more for speed rather than defense. This speedy build however doesn't cut back on his strength. In addition to his height, he has two wings that add to his massive appearance. The wings are the shape of skeletal dragon wings, with a sheet of thin ice between the bone like structures (the thin ice is easily penetrated but fills up the injury with more ice almost instantly). His hands and feet are more like talons, his feet more like a falcon's talons with one exception: he has a single talon on the inside of each foot that operates very closely to how a raptor's does. His head is once again shaped for speedy movement. His lower features covered by what seems to be ice armor, his eyes a pale light in the shape of narrowed eyes. He has a total of six horns: two large ones on the top of his head, and two on the sides of his head (two on his right and two on his left).
Material form: In a material form he takes the shape and appearance of a human. As usual for his kind, his skin is pale and has snowy white hair and frosty white eyes. When he is alone with his summoner he wears a white shirt, a blue jacket lined with gold, and white pants, with blue boots to top it all off. He keeps himself groomed and fresh when taking on this appearance. If surrounded with strangers or those who are not friends to him or his summoner, he wears another outfit entirely. This outfit consists of a sort of deep purple coat lined with silver, with loose sleeves and a waist cape, steel gauntlets with a silvery gleam to them. A hood and silver mask, a gray cloth belt, and of course a pair of deep purple pants and gray boots.
Oras in Material Form
Oras true form: (in progress)
Personality: Oras is an interesting individual. If you manage to become his friend then he is extremely kind, loyal and caring. More gentle than he is with other people. Becoming his friend however is a rather difficult task.. Very difficult in fact. For the most part Oras is very judgemental and pushes people into two categories in his mind. Either they're weak or stupid, or they're strong and smart. If they are weak but smart, or strong but stupid, he automatically fits them into the first category. If you are in the first category he either A: pretends you don't exist. B: looks at you with a smirk as if you're beneath him and finds it cute that you think you're on his level. Or C: goes out of his way to make some snarky comment towards you.
If you somehow manage to get onto the second category in his mind, he will either A: notice you as he passes by, most likely greeting you. B: consider you a worthy ally whom he may or may not call upon for aid. Or C: consider you as his friend and try to spend more time with you.
At the same time however he puts up a front. He doesn't show much emotion other than his confidence, loyalty, and arrogance. All other emotions such as pain, anger, embarrassment, fear, awkwardness, etc. he wouldn't show. This also includes love (which is rare for an Atranoch to experience). This being said, he does in fact feel emotions and can be emotionally hurt. He seeks to be strong only so that he won't be forced into doing anything, (especially anything embarrassing/humiliating) as well as be forced into sharing how he truly feels. It is very rare for him to open up to anyone, but the moment he does he sees you as a true friend and will be willing to confide in you.
Virtues
- Confident/Courageous: Oras isn't afraid to step into a dangerous situation. He knows he can't be permanently killed, which boosts his courage even further, despite the fact that he can still feel pain. When others fail to take on a foe, he'll gladly take on the opponent head on and keep it from advancing further. Even though he is confident in his own abilities however he isn't stupid, and will suggest a retreat or change in strategy if he knows his abilities won't be enough, or if he's facing a powerful opponent with the element he is weak to.
- Loyal/Caring: Regardless of who summons Oras into the material world, he is willing to follow them wherever they go. There are of course certain commands he won't abide to (such as murdering innocent people for no reason at all), but most every other order he will follow. He may add a comment, suggestion or advice in between, but he'll still follow his summoner's instructions. He won't betray them at all, and at the same time while he rarely shows it, he cares about his summoner, his summoner's family and his/her friends.
- Moral/Knowledgeable: His loyalty is very strong, but it obviously is hindered only by actions that go against his own moral code. He won't harm the innocent under any circumstances. He does not like the idea of torture unless he feels the individual deserves it. He will only humiliate someone if he thinks they're idiots or morons (in his mind people are either idiots or capable individuals). And finally he will never do anything to damage an individual's soul, as he would not wish to hinder their passing into the afterlife if they believe in one.
- Swordsman: While Oras knows and understands the technology of the modern world, he prefers the aspect of a sword over everything else. Seeing as how he can use his talent to create projectiles, he saw no harm in training in the art of the blade. And thus he spent most of his last visit to the material world learning everything he could about it, and practicing both here and in Elentros. Thanks to his perception as an Atranoch, he was able to master most of it rather quickly. He intents to fully master the art of the sword now that he's back.
- Skilled Fighter: His skills as a fighter are in fact impressive. His reaction timing and attention is quick and precise. He is able to strategize and process during the heat of battle and make a thought out decision when needed. However this has less to do with natural talent and more to do with the enjoyment he gets from combat. Whether it's a sparring match or a fight to the death he loves the thrill of the fight and has no qualms with fighting to reach an objective.
Flaws
- Arrogant/Cocky: While Oras may be wise enough to avoid certain confrontations in the sense of combat, when in a non danger situation he is arrogant and cocky. He won't hide this either, and will often look at people as if they're beneath him. Often times he'll look at others who speak or act as if they are strong and just give a look that indicates he sees them as some lost puppy rather than a strong man/woman. Depending on his summoner he may even act this way to them, despite his loyalty, and never seem to act like they are equals until they prove him wrong.
- Facade/Shy: Despite his arrogance and cockiness, which is in fact how he truly feels about others, most of his other emotions he tends to keep hidden within a facade. One such aspect is that he is actually rather shy when around females of any species (unless he believes them to be ugly in some shape or form). If he's feeling sad or bothered, he keeps his facade up. The same can be said for if he's angry or annoyed, flustered, embarrassed, hurt, anxious, nervous, etc.
- Snarky/Blunt: To top off his arrogance and cockiness he is also extremely snarky. Regardless of how sensitive people are to it, if he thinks they are either weak, idiots or both, he'll make sure they know it. Whether it's outright insults, in the shape of a rude joke, or in the form of elaborate pranks or traps (depending on how he's feeling). He has no filter in the sense that he'll say what he want whenever he wants to. No one will stop him with rules or force as 'he's not even from this world'.
- Disrespectful: Unlike most people in the material world, Oras doesn't care what your age, class, title or position is. If he doesn't think you're intelligent or strong he treats you like he does everyone else. Even if he is punished for said disrespect his mindset won't change. If anything he'll most likely just backtalk them even more, or set up an elaborate prank on them. This results in very shaky relationships between him and those who are in authority. What makes it worse is his mindset of invincibility since he can't die and this isn't his world.
- Dependent: While most other races are born into the material world, or can travel into/out of it with ease, Oras is not one of those races. Because of this, he is dependent on his summoner. Otherwise he will not be able to manifest in the material world. Because he enjoys his time in the material world, he is more dependent on the summoner than he would care to admit, and if they use the right words, treats and leverage, they can get him to do more than he is typically willing to do, or even demand respect from him.
History:
Before you can understand Oras' past, you must first understand his homeland and how his kin function as a whole.
Life in Elentros was entirely different than it is in the Material world. They don't have names for other Atranoch's as each can automatically sense and determine who is who just by being close enough, and as long as they can see and observe each other. They have no need to eat anything and there is no power struggle. They all live as equals and spend most of their time observing the only other two realms of existence they can observe. These being the abstract realm of dreams and fantasy, where laws and logic are nonexistent, and the material realm of reality and corporal worlds, where law and logic are woven into the very world and realm itself. Some Elentros prefer to watch the realms of fantasy while others prefer to observe the realm of reality.
Sometimes, due to their living a long time, they'll observe and investigate up close and personal by entering the world. However there is a difference between the two realms in terms of which they can visit, this being caused by the very nature of the three realms of existence. An Atranoch can cross over and back to and from the realm of fantasy with ease. There being no natural rules or laws in the world of abstract, there is no reason they cannot cross over. To cross over into the material world however, they would need an individual to create a sort of link, or bridge which allows a specific Atranoch to cross over. An Atranoch can be summoned quickly, which implies that a summoner requires aid as soon as possible, but doesn't have any real need or intention for the Atranoch afterwards. They can also be summoned permanently and remain in the material world until they, or their summoner perishes. Then they await another summoner.
Oras Auro personally dislikes Elentros. Due to their long lifespan, perfect harmony, and a lack of sustenance, they don't have as much to do as the material world. Their pastime is either observing other realms or shaping their own world or structures to mimic the worlds they observe, simply because. There isn't any point to it, any need to do so. If asked, Oras will tell people that they do so because they're bored. Because there's nothing they can do in their homeland. Oras at a young age was more interested in the material realm than the abstract realm. He'd rather come to learn the enjoyments and excitement they have rather than spend ages trying to understand the Abstract world. For even as beings between the two worlds, the realm of fantasy was still difficult for them to comprehend unless they studied it for a good one hundred to two hundred years. However he didn't just want to learn about the material world from a distance. He wanted to personally walk and experience it.
And luckily for him, it wouldn't be long before he would get his wish.
One day he was summoned into the material world by a swordsman with a talent that amplified his speed and strength greatly. The man had summoned an Atranoch because he didn't have a talent that protected him from magic like effects or attacks, and needed someone who could help him counter such talents and abilities. Oras was very pleased to find that the man intended to travel around the globe and go on adventures, and thus the two did so. Along the way he came to enjoy the man. He was intelligent, very logical, and in addition to this he was very strong and skilled. At first Oras mocked him for his weakness until the man pointed out that everyone has a weakness. That there was no such thing as absolute power or invincibility. He even used Oras' weakness to the inferno element as an example. This conversation was one of many that created a strong bond of friendship between the two.
During his time on the material world Oras had learned much of the world's culture and it's inhabitants. There were few things he could not understand, and few things that scare him. Especially since he can't actually die. Women confuse him and many times, especially when they are attractive, cause him to be shy to some extent, though he rarely shows it. One of his favorite things about the material world however, was combat. Being adventurers, Oras and his summoner had many battles and skirmishes. At one point Oras asked for the man to teach him the ways of the blade. So the two of them would train when they weren't adventuring. While Oras didn't have a talent that allowed him enhanced speed, he as an Atranoch was faster than humans on average. Thus, before long, they had reached equal footing.
The two had lived a long life of fun together, but eventually his summoner became to frail to continue his adventures, and chose to settle down. Oras continued his adventures alone however, and would periodically check on his summoner, visiting him as an old friend. One day he returned and found his friend with a family. This experience had caused him to long for something more than friendship. However him being an Atranoch, and the fact that his kind didn't breed was a crushing fact that caused him to suppress such feelings. Believing that he'd never have what his friend had. Years passed and his friend began to pass away. Oras had returned to say his final farewells to his friend. And as his summoner's life faded away, so to did Oras fade from the material world and back into Elentros. Waiting for someone else to come along and summon him back into the world.
And when that day came.. He would visit his friend's family if possible.
Motivations:
- Adventure - Oras loves more than anything, going out on adventures. He loves going out and exploring the world, facing new enemies, finding new treasures. There is nothing more he would rather do than clear the entire world of all it's treasures. So long as you offer him an adventure that comes with excitement and thrills he's on board.
- Combat - Probably on par with his love for adventure is his love for combat in it's purest form. Whether it's a fair fight, a dirty fight, fight to the death or a simple spar, he loves the thrill and adrenaline that comes with a fight. More than often if he doesn't get the chance to have a good fight he may just cause one for the sake of having a good time.
- Intimacy - The one motivation he keeps locked deep under his facade. Revealing to no one, and always attempting to forget it himself, he desires intimacy. Whether it's a strong friendship as he had with his first summoner, or through that of family (which he believes will never happen), he desires to have someone he can be with. Since Atranoch's have no families in their world and not as strong friendships, his desire for this is so strong it almost hurts sometimes.
♦ SPECIES INFORMATION ♦
Name of Species: Atranoch (Glacier Element)
Baseline Dimension: Varies. An Atranoch's true form can be many different shapes and forms due to the fact that they are an element and can choose what they wish to look like. They can be extremely short with a strong build, extremely tall with very thin limbs, etc. On average they tend to have a height ranging from four feet to ten feet tall. Most of the time they have a body with arms and legs, as well as a head, many with wings, tails, even tentacles, (ranges on personal taste) even unique and unnatural appendages. In addition they can take on the appearance of humans. There are of course certain Atranochs who can take on the appearance of more than one race, but most do not have this ability. Their dimension also depends on whether they are a more evasive or brutish atranoch. Normally their body reforms, fixing any damage dealt to them, unless A: they are low on elemental resource, or B: they are hit by their element's weakness.
Baseline Appearance: Varies. As stated above it depends on the Atranoch's personal taste. They typically take on a human like appearance or shape, but there are those who prefer a more monstrous, beast or alien like appearance. When summoned temporarily, Atranoch's usually keep to their true appearance. When permanently summoned until they or their summoner becomes deceased, they normally take on a non elemental form such as humans or another species (though typically humans). Normally when they take on the appearance of another species, their appearance will mimic the element they are based off of. For Glacier Atranoch's specifically, they are of course made of ice and have the appearance of ice. Whether it's one solid shifting piece of ice or hundreds of shards moving together. When taking the appearance of a species from the material world, they retain traits similar to their element. Such as hair with a white and frosty shape and color, as well as white or silver eyes, pale skin, and a generally cool temperature.
Culture/Origin of Species: Atranochs live in a different plane of existence known as Elentros. This plane of existence resides in between reality and fantasy. Material world and dreams. Atranochs are able to travel into either worlds in different manners. It's always possible for them to freely enter the dream world, however they find the material world more entertaining. As they've observed the material world, their own world slowly grew into it's likeness... To an extent. While they were intrigued with the physical realm, they were still in tune with the realm of fantasy, and thus their home is a mixture of the many elements and the concepts from dreams. To enter the material world however, Atranochs had to forge some sort of bond with them. They reached out to those with special abilities and were able to create a sort of bridge between their worlds. These 'bridges' worked by summoning Atranochs to the material world, or vice versa. Only those willing to travel to the other side were able to be summoned, thus keeping any unwanted transports from occurring.
In addition to Atranochs there are elementals. Elementals are similar to Atranochs in that their body, abilities and such are based off of an element, but they are less sentient and powerful than Atranochs. In addition to this, they have a less greater list of possible elements than Atranochs. Atranochs can be just about any element. There are Nature Elements such as inferno, magma, water, stone, glacier, vegetation, wind, storm, metal, light, shadow, etc. Elementals can only be an element of fire, ice, stone or wind. Elementals are typically seen by the Atranochs as children or pets, depending on their sentience level, and generally care for them.
Just as Atranochs come in all shapes and sizes, so do their personalities. Being able to observe a plane of existence made entirely out of concepts and dreams however, typically gives them creativity and adaptability as a strength. At the same time however, their personality and outlook on life and individuals can in fact change depending on multiple scenarios. The more common one being who they travel and mingle with in the material or fantasy worlds. If they travel beside a noble knight who values the lives of the innocent, no matter their position then they grow to become something similar. If they travel with a bloodthirsty murderer who gets a kick from a few kills, they become more cruel like them. However, if an Atranoch has already shifted to one type of personality, and travels with one of the opposite, the Atranoch will instead try to influence it's companion. Atranochs however, regardless of their personality, rarely try to make a permanent impact on the material or fantasy worlds, as they are a part of neither of them. This can of course change, but it is highly unlikely.
Seeing as how they are from a plane of existence that resides between reality and fiction, Atranochs cannot in fact truly die. Their bodies may shatter or be dispersed, but their 'essence' will simply return to Elentros, awaiting to be summoned once again. Atranoch's can live an incredible long time. A short life to them is around five hundred years, while a long lived life can be up to five thousand.
Traits: List of traits for the species.
• Flash Freezing: Being the incarnation of the very essence of cold, Glacier Atranoch's can cool the area down around them, or even freeze everything within a sixty meter radius. They can toggle this ability on or off, but by default it is usually set on unless specified otherwise.
• Naturally Cool: Glacier Atranoch are the literal incarnation of ice, and as such have an extreme resistance and tolerance to any attack dealt to them by ice or cold. Freezing temperatures are comfortable to them instead of deadly as it is to most individuals, even if they have a material form.
• Material Composition: In the realm of Elentros, the inhabitants could choose which world they wished to join because they were the in between of the two. While they take on a material form in the material world, they can in fact revert to their original form and split their body in varies ways. If a part of them detaches from their body however (such as tossing a hand as an icicle) then they cannot retrieve it, and must either grow it back or return to Elentros to recover.
• Assimilate: While the elements in the material world are not exactly like those in the realm of Elentros (due to Elentros having influence from the realms of fantasy as well) the elements of Elentros are close enough where an Atranoch can actually absorb their element equivalent to restore lost limbs, or even restore their own energy with it.
• Home Advantage: When in contact with it's corresponding element (glacier), or the right temperature (20 degrees fahrenheit and below), the Atranoch's physical strength and it's abilities become stronger, faster and more effective in general.• Soothing Snow: Assuming the Atranoch is not gravely or mortally wounded in any way, it can create a sort of snow that can heal minor injuries.
• Elemental Force: Atranoch's are a sort of glass cannon. Their power is amplified so that they can better serve their summoner as an offensive individual. Glacier Atranoch's are not tanks. (+2 to strength aspect)
• Analysts: Most Atranoch are used to the crazy nature of the dream/fantasy realm they watch from time to time. Thanks to this they are usually able to spot things easier and quicker than most races. This includes being able to accurately spot and follow even a speeding bullet.
• Quick Shave: Despite popular belief, Glacier atranoch's aren't tanks. In fact, very rarely do they ever have a bulky body. Most of the time they have a structure that amplifies their speed, and even if they don't they are still faster than other species. (+1 speed aspect)
• Shattered: While Atranoch don't have much defense, and while it is true that any piece of them that falls off is no longer a part of their body, they can use their own energy to catch any falling piece and reattach it to themselves. They could be completely shattered and still pull themselves together.
Flaws: List of flaws for the species.
• Summer Cold: If the temperature gets too high, the Atranoch won't be able to create ice and snow (around 100 degrees fahrenheit and above). In addition to this, the Atranoch will get a cold, regardless of where they are or what they are doing.
• Vulnerability: The Glacier Atranoch is naturally weak to the inferno element (or fire). Fire can melt and/or shatter the Atranoch if there isn't anything between it and the fire, and weakens the Atranoch if it is near the inferno element.
• Non Compatible: Glacier Atranoch cannot assimilate elements that do not match it's own. If it is anything other than ice or frost it cannot absorb it.
• Glass Cannon: Atranoch's in general are more about quick strikes than anything else. It is possible to have atranoch's who prioritize defense over offense, but Glacier Atranoch's are not so. Thus unless they wear armor of some sort, they won't be able to resist any direct hit against them.
• Dependent: In order to enter the material world, an Atranoch must have some sort of wish or goal in said world. Therefore they are dependent on whoever has summoned them, for it's them and them alone who ties them to the material world.
