welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

'This seems interesting.....' Blaze would think to herself as she stood on the several foot ladder. She had marched herself in her wooden sandals right up the ladder, quickly in fact. However, she didn't realize this was a terrible, terrible, terrible mistake. The way the ladder sifted under her as she stood balancing to reach the very so, called book she had targeted. "Almost there..... almost there....." she'd mumble to herself. And then as she reached for the book and took a hold everything beneath her would collapse. 'Oh fuck.....' she' d think as she fell. Her wooden shoes went flying elsewhere as she fell. More specifically, to a blonde male reading nearby. "Ow....." Blaze would mutter to herself. Several books would fall down with her. Which, she had no plan of putting back considering, it was up so tall from which they had fallen. The books Blaze would moan to herself feeling in disgust as to what had happened. She had no idea someone had noticed. A person nearby. Blaze would begin to reach for a nearby book as she touched top of her head. Rubbing it from the pain. She seemed pretty dented up. She had various brusies and the front of her head was swollen due to falling against a chair and table. It was actually pretty bad how dented up she was. "Quiet!" a nearby librarian from a distance yelled. The woman had completely ignored the commotion as she was from a distance. She didn't care what was going on. She was old and cranky. To busy bothered with knitting in her corner to bother the with young woman. Blaze was trying to stand up right just to talk with old lady who had said that shit. 'I'mma fuck her right the hell up!' she thought to herself. Then someone interrupted her. words: 306• tags: miruku notes: i will increase word count over time, promise. the library was the only place where miruku could get the answers he was searching for. his white cloak that was clasped around his neck by a gold buckle floated as he walked with a purpose. his fingers shakily opened the doors to the library as he fumbled over to the librarian. "eto.... excuse me miss... er, where would i find the advanced section?" his question seemed to amuse the librarian as her fingers stopped their knitting. she tilted her glasses to the bridge of her nose as she looked miruku up and down, "you seem uncertain of yourself, why would you want to see the advanced books?" miruku fumbled with his words and twiddled his fingers, "i-i have a reason... though i'd prefer to keep it to myself....." an amused smile seemed to cross the old lady's face as she pointed a wiry finger in the back section of the library. with a nod of thankfulness, miruku turned away and the woman returned to her knitting.
when he reached the back section, his fingers began to touch each book, reading the titles. intense history of vampires and werewolves, how to trick a fairy, power of the gods, dragon magic, physical awareness, activating the sixth sense, auras and all the need-to-knows... with a sigh of disappointment, none of the books seemed to be what miruku wanted.
as if appearing out of nowhere, miruku tripped on a pile of books and they went all over the place. his hand had landed on a rather large black book with purple spirals all over it. souls... that was the title of the book that held promise. miruku stood to his feet and returned each book to the pile that had fallen over, taking the black bound book in his arms he went over to a nearby table. opening to the page of contents he began to search. each soul type had several chapters. his finger stopped at 'witch souls'. letting out a grunt of happiness, miruku flipped to the pages that held information on witches souls.
miruku had not gotten very far in his reading, only about seven pages in when a loud sound appeared out of nowhere. looking up in alarm, miruku saw a busty dark-skinned female. her hair was of the purest white with a pair of sharp and pointed ears peeking out. her complexion seemed rather beautiful and enticing. watching her carefully, he heard the librarian yowl "QUIET!"
a familiar gleam seemed to enter her dusk colored eyes. he knew the look only too well, she would seem to be about to cause more trouble, her intent seemed to be towards the librarian. miruku shut the book, loud enough to get her attention, yet not loud enough to cause a ruckus to get in trouble. he picked it up with his left hand and stood to his feet.
the sound of clicking shoes on the hardwood floor sounded as miruku walked up to the woman. his walk seemed confident, however the words seemed less confident as he spoke to her. "uhh, miss. I would advise action against the librarian would not be wise, eto.......let me help you...." he reached down and began to pick up each book, placing them in a neat pile next to the shelf, "the library house elves will come to put them back up. is your head alright?" miruku nervously checked all the bruises that the girl had, "i am no expert in healing magic, so i can't do much about it......"

The action of him shutting the book just right to get her attention was clever, because the librarian didn't say anything to them anymore. At least for the time being. She wanted to go say something to the librarian. She'd ball her hands in a neat little fist. This man was interesting to look at. At least to Blaze, he was. He was much paler than her compared to her dark skin. He was blonde and blue-eyed. The perfect definition of a stereotypical image of 'purity'. He seemed urgent to come and assist her, but not to the point he'd seemed to do so abrupt that it would bother her or the librarian. He was clever, but Blaze didn't think this quite yet. As she stared in the direction of the librarian, she'd hear his voice. 'Miss....?' she'd think to herself. She'd stare into his eyes and analyze his face, seemingly recognizing this was a stranger to her. A physically attractive stranger, but a stranger all the none less. He had very opposing features compared to her. She found this noteworthy, but didn't seem weird and didn't verbally voice it. He'd begin picking up the books that she had no intention on assisting the house elves with. Upon hearing, the word 'elves', however, did make her start assisting as well. She'd start placing the books on a pile alongside the anonymous person. She didn't stand up, but was dragging herself across the floor. The wooden floor was smooth, but was a bit dusty. However, Blaze would have a difficult time standing up. Usually, she'd just leave a mess, but perhaps she could help. Besides, the ones who put it back were people of fellow blood. Afterward, she'd see Miruku staring at her body. At first, she liked it but it made her nervous. The half demon would find it rather pleasing, although, it made her heart race and just as nervous as how Miruku would talk. Oh, so he wasn't looking at her sexually? Out of pure concern? Oh well. Just as pleasant she supposed. "I'll be good and fine!" she'd insisted. How dare she fall! Her father would beat her even more just as punishment for embarrassing him if he were here. The thought of it made her uncomfortable. She'd sigh and look down subconsciously, although it could be easily taken for something else. Remembering Miruku had his eyes on her would cause her to look up at him, "Ok! It's ok!" she'd lie as she attempted to stand up using the edge of a nearby table. 'Weak! Weak! Weak!' she'd muttered to herself, but if one were to intently listen they could make out the words. "What's your name? Mine is Blaze!" she'd say trying to smile despite the pain. She'd lean against the table awkwardly. 'Damnit! What a first impression you've just made there!' Blaze would think to herself. The words 'pathetic' would echo through her mind as if she could never make a mistake. Then again, Blaze's subconscious goals were simple: never make a mistake or face harsh consequences. words: 513 • tags: miruku   notes: i will increase word count over time, promise. miruku silently allowed the woman to help him put the books in a pile. watching out of the corner of his eyes as she dragged herself around on the floor. her replies of her being fine, seemed to be quite the opposite as she did not seem to hide her pain well. he made no movement as she leaned against the table to help herself up. raising his eyebrows, his fingers clutched his book, the other hand reached out, "let me help you." he had his hand out for her to take, and whether or not she did was up to her. upon hearing her name, he instantly thought of blazing fire and the memories of his mistress' last host being burned made his gaze fall to the floor, much like blaze's had earlier. i wonder why she looked down, perhaps she is distressed with memories as well? or perhaps she is embarrassed for her mistake? looking back up, his face held nothing but positive shyness, the smile lacing his lips as he spoke, "miruku... nice to meet you, blaze..." miruku never once thought of the girl as pathetic as she had taken quite a fall, "are you feeling dizzy at all? you might have gotten a concussion... maybe we should take you to the nurse?" as he said the word nurse, his face lit up, remembering he had potions with him still after having been attacked by the wolf only a few weeks prior, he was in no need to use them... placing the book on the table, miruku rummaged through his own belongings until he found what he was looking for. pulling out the red, shining liquid he offered it to blaze, "its a healing potion, its not as good as a nurse, but if you don't want to see one you can easily take this and it will help ease your pain... i mean... only if you want to drink it... you don't have to..." miruku felt like a complete idiot as he stood there with both his hands outwards. his gaze only flickered to the book once to make sure it was still there. i can't loose that book, it will tell me many things i need to know... "so what are you looking for, here in the library?" orchid familiar the dark arts

Blaze would take his hand and grip onto it tightly so she could stand on her two feet properly. Blaze would then be offered she didn't expect. A red liquidy potion filled with healing properties. She was unsure of whether to take it or not at first. She doubt he was trying to kill her, however, she was unsure if she wanted to look weak to him still. 'He thinks I'm weak?? Doesn't he.' she thought to herself. She wanted to be the one wearing the pants of this relationship, but gender roles were a thing. Blaze decided if she was already seen weak by this man she had nothing to lose by taking the potion. It'd just be more of an emphasis. She'd sigh and then grab the man's potion and take it as a token of friendship. Her fingertips brushing by his in the pass. She'd drink all of the red semi-thick magical liquids. As she did some of the bruises on her legs would completely vanish. Red magical sparks would surround the wounds and would vanish a few seconds later. The only 'wounds' still intact with Blaze's ebony skin was the would on her head. The wound closed up, just dry blood, and was a scab. "Well.....That was fast....." she'd say. Blaze would let go of her pride and make eye contact with Miruku, "Thanks! I was just looking for books on resurrecting the dead, but I didn't find anything too interesting. It's pretty complicated thing I heard..... I was also looking for some fiction books! Do you read a lot?" she'd ask Miruku, "MIruku is a nice name. No I don't need to see a nurse or get anything else. Thanks so much!" she'd say, "What are you doing at this library? You seemed to be doing some hardcore reading on a fairly big book!" Blaze would exclaim and give him a smirk. Thank goodness her pain was gone. words: 323 • tags: miruku   notes:cooties. [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]

as soon as blaze drinked the potion almost all of her pain seemed to completely vanish, thank you, khyra.. she then began to talk all at once, and miruku tried his best to keep up. resurrecting the dead.... miruku once again looked the girl up and down, "why do you want to resurrect the dead?" thinking of whether or not he read a lot, he shrugged, "i-if i want to learn i have to read, so its sort of a daily necessity." the fact of the matter was that miruku preferred to read scrolls than immense heavy books, as scrolls oftentimes got straight to the point without all the history that books contained.
as soon as blaze mentioned the book that miruku had been reading he put his hand down, returning the book to between his arm and his side. "uhm... i-im looking into the properties of souls. you could say i have this f-friend and her soul is trapped by another soul. i want to free her." miruku would devote his whole life to khyra if he had to.
still unsure about how he felt about blaze, he assumed she would be a somewhat worthy companion to befriend. "if you want a fiction book, there's this one i spotted.. on my way to this advanced section. you won't find many fictional books in this section." turning now, he lead blaze to the section where he had spotted the book at, his fingers running through the books once again until his hand clasped around one in particular, "a-ha! the perilous adventures of king robert the fourth!" inside one would find battles and wars between many different creatures and nations, all being made up. the creatures, the world that the book took place in, all a fantasy... or perhaps another dimension to the vast world that miruku and blaze lived in.
now thinking back to resurrecting the dead, miruku posed to ask a question, "did you loose someone important to you? is that why you want to resurrect the dead?" miruku was fairly naive so he oftentimes thought the best of everyone. it was a trait that khyra had been trying to teach him out of.

Upon Miruku's next series of questions, Blaze would turn cold. "I want to learn to resurrect the dead because it's interesting? Why wouldn't I?" she'd said as if giving a vague and sloppy answer. He'd then change the subject for a quick moment to fiction and lead her away to the fiction section. He'd recommend her a good book, one she had not read as of yet. She had calmed down at this point, but he'd bring up the uncomfortable subject again. She'd squeeze her fists and look angry. Almost as if she was going to whack Miruku unexpectedly. "Let's just say..... There was someone much stronger than you and me who I loved deeply. And that he is no longer with us in the present day. Someone who was high up in the Hisakawa military.....He had....power." Blaze would say. She would release her fist and try to relax. Seeing her father up in the bed, motionless. Sores on his arms. Blood everywhere. Open, yet blank eyes with no expressions or emotions. It bothered her to no end. What could she have done wrong? She was clearly not enough for him. She still had the letter til' this day. An odd thing to keep one might think, a suicide note, but it did remind her of him and what she could of done. She couldn't prove the man wrong before her too. It'd seemed weird. Still, a complete stranger, Blaze didn't want to seem weak before him. She'd mask her feelings with a cold look. One, which could be taken the wrong way. She 'd sigh as if trying to get herself together then say, "I'm sorry..... I just had a moment there," she'd say and tap her chin as if thinking still, but trying to shift her thoughts away from her father would then say, "Since, you asked if I were bothered by something..." she'd attempt to repeat what he said. But it sounded nothing like it at all. She was letting her emotions get in the way of her intelligence. Not once did Miruku ask if she was 'bothered' by anything. After stating this, she realized her verbal mistake but didn't correct it. Perhaps he wouldn't catch on. Here she was, letting a new friend and attractive individual see her dark side too soon. She'd sigh again and look nervously away, "Look. I'm sorry. It's my father who passed away. He was very precious to me. He beat me sometimes.....But I miss him. He died not too long ago. I really do," she'd say, "I'm sorry. I'm not mad at you. I never was. I swear. I would never hurt someone as beautiful as you." she'd lie. She did get mad at him and did consider whacking him. Hopefully, he'd let it slide. Now she was just saying anything. She couldn't let this person leave her now. She had just found him. It was a strange feeling, nobody cared for her, now someone showed the slightest amount of sympathy. And here she was, trying to take him and keep him. "So who is this friend of yours? Is she a girlfriend? A distant relative?" she'd ask. A 'friend'. Sounded more than like a friend to Blaze if he was so dedicated to her. words: 545 • tags: miruku   notes:oopsies you pissed her off. miruku expected to take the hit, straight on. it was better out than in, and he never did mind being someone's punching bag if it meant that they would feel better afterwards. "t-there wouldn't be anything w-wrong with that... b-but just because someone has power in status, d-doesn't mean they are more powerful t-than you... t-through wit and practice, a-anyone can beat anyone else..." miruku shook his head, i have to get out of this stupid funk! i have to be braver. almost changing his speech pattern completely, miruku spoke with utmost confidence, "necromancy comes with a hefty price to pay, it is not worth it... trust me..." noting that blaze spoke of him asking if she had been bothered by something, he narrowed his eyes. "your father... how did he die? if you don't mind my asking... he abused you, didn't he... that's what all the scars are?" miruku's eyes took to the girl's skin his pupils scanning it as he looked at each scar. until at last his eyes landed on blaze's cleavage. miruku felt his face heat up as he shyly looked back at blaze's face. hoping she had not caught him having eyed her breasts.
awaiting her answer at his next round of questions, miruku fiddled with his fingers. he then placed the big book back down so that he could give his full attention to blaze. "y'know... i am pretty sure that you would hit me, without question. though, i would never stop you." miruku reached forward, holding onto blaze's hand with both of his in what any observer would assume was intimate. "i would not mind being your punching bag, if it means you would feel better." miruku looked into blaze's eyes as he spoke innocently.
as soon as the conversation switched to who he was trying to save, his hands let go of her hand. his eyes looked at his feet, "i wouldn't say friend or girlfriend really. nor is she a relative of mine... i just owe my life to her. i have to serve her until the day that i part from this world. it makes me feel... complete? her name is khyra. she is one of the nicest evil beings you would ever meet. you could definitely meet her... that is if i can free her...." a frown covered miruku's face as he thought of how difficult it would be.
"i have no idea how to do it, which is why i am reading into it. i just... i want her by my side once again. i want to save her as she saved me..." miruku's eyes began to tear up, tears began to fall down his face. his right hand lifted to his face, wiping his eyes, and covering his face. "why the fuck did she have to get trapped in t-that place. why can't she free herself. why can't i do anything..." miruku felt lost and without hope. showing his weakness in front of his new friend, miruku began to sway, his body threatening to fall to the floor. orchid familiar the dark arts
