It had not even been a full week since she had crash landed and the people at the academy had unknowingly tried to save her life. Sadly, the school nurse could only accelerate the healing of her wing, not completely fix it, unknowingly leaving her life up in the air. If she was unable to take flight into thinner air again before her body took in too much oxygen? She would certainly be too weak to make it home much less survive. However, what little heart she did have prevented her from telling the individuals who were so excited at getting the chance to interact with her what the cost to her actually was. Jiyu already knew the chances she'd ever survive a broken wing outside of the high mountains was next to none, there was no reason to break their joy, force them to interact with her knowing how finite that time really was.
In the flurry's attempt to enjoy the town she was now stuck within? She had ventured to a place called 'south park' reminding her of birds she'd seen fly south for the winter, it sounded as if it would be fairly empty but sometimes solitude was grand. Peacefully strolling through the forest covered park, Jiyu started to take note of something abnormal about an hour into her wandering. "Hn, sweat." running a hand down her arm she took a seat on a stone bench, staring down at her hand. Sweating? Was not typical for a species that could live in subzero temperatures and could fly forever expect when slumbering if they wished. Her entire anatomy? Was based on not ever reaching exhaustion nor breaking a sweat that could be frozen and weight her down. "Must be stress from the broken wing." she told that to herself more than even the air because she already knew it was a lie, the heaving breath, swiftly beating heart she knew the truth. Sitting upon the bench for a while longer, things only got worse with her limbs beginning to hurt, a sense of fainting coming over her the dizziness lasting until briefly broken by the need to vomit.
Heat exhaustion, quickly progressing on what for most was just an oddly pleasant and warm winter day. For her? It was potentially deadly as the end quickly sought out her kind who developed feverish temperatures since they had a very low resting temperature which didn't even increase when they flew for days to weeks. "Seriously, how can anything survive this heat." she hissed it out, forcing herself to stand and stumble to the pond across from where she had been sitting, walking until she was about hip deep and sitting down so it enveloped to her shoulders. At least it was cooler in the water, hopefully it would be enough to bring her body temperature down if she stayed in for a few hours until night hopefully brought the cold back and she could seek out someone she already knew for advice on staying cold around here.
