In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Emma's nose twitched as she stepped into the crimson dorm room that would be her home for at least the next few years. The neko was currently in full humanoid form, wearing headphones and listening to one of her favourite songs of the moment. Behind her she pulled along a small luggage bag with her right hand as she used her left to hold open a map of the campus. As her orchid eyes gazed around the room she made a small 'tch' sound at the sight of the chosen decor. Sure she had been told that her dorm area would be red, but she didn't expect it to burn her irises quite so much.
"Geez, what kind of moron designed this place?" the neko muttered to herself, searching the room to see that it appeared no one else was around, well that was at least a bonus. Still, she was quite certain she would be forced to share a room eventually, but for now she would get to enjoy the peace and quiet of living alone. She strolled over placing her small suitcase beside one of the beds, taking one that was against the wall by the window, which would allow the sun to shine on her during the day. Emma flopped backwards onto the bed, turning her music off and removing her headphones, closing her eyes for a moment as she allowed her ears to morph into their more regular cat shaped ears on top her head as she enjoyed the sweet sound of silence. Well, almost silence. There were the chirping of birds and the shouts of other students outside and around the place, still it was somewhat peaceful.
Emma recalled what her older brother had told her before she left home, claiming she needed to at least make an attempt to converse with others and make friends. A thought that made her repeat the 'tch' sound from earlier. What did it matter if she was a loner? If anything it would allow her to study and relax in peace without interference from others wanting her to do things. Still, Emma was aware her brother had his spies around the academy from his years here. So if she didn’t at least appear to put in the effort to socialise she would definite receive messages about it. The lavender haired neko sighed as she forced herself up from the comfort of her new bed. She would leave her luggage where it was for now, and place her headphones on the covers. That way if a roommate did arrive, it would be more obvious she had claimed that bed already.
With that Emma decided to wander back to the common room where she had spied a few fellow dorm members as she previously passed through without much more than a small glance around. The short neko managed to find what appeared to be an empty vermilion coloured couch and sat upon it without a moment of hesitation as her purple orbs gazed around, trying to take in as much of her surroundings as possible.

Walking back to her dorm after class, Catherine was deeply concerned about how the rocky hand with the booming voice found the student gathering a few days ago. She suspected that the rocky hand could see anything that a faculty member could see, granting it a form of omniscience. That meant that the sheep nurse was a spy, just not a spy for a giant conspiracy to press-gang Nano-Augs into military service. Catherine walked into a dorm and soon discovered that she had entered Vermilion Dorm, thereby achieving a dubious feat of navigation by somehow getting lost and going into a dorm that was painfully red instead of painfully blue.
Catherine was embarrassed by the failure in navigation and her embarrassment only increased when she spotted a lavender-haired cat girl sitting on a vermilion couch. This was not her day. Now that she was here, she might as well talk to the cat girl and try to remove a bit of the egg from her face.
"Hi there. How's it going?" Catherine asked the cat girl.

Apparently children actually had to go to school in this world, it was kinda irritating she had learned much better from watching her parents commit murder or other crimes for what her mummy had deemed good purposes. Yes, that was something that had not changed, murder was still illegal; So was eating live people, but she only ate their emotions so the young tween figured she'd be fine on that front. Sometime during the hunt for the acolyte dorm she had grown hungry, starvation clawing at the pit of her stomach as if she had not already been starving. Had mummy always felt this hungry as an Inugami or was it just a young pup thing? In spite of not being the first dog to die in the family she knew relatively little about her current life state since the woman who raised her had always been very secretive about what exactly being an Inugami entailed. Now, Elise understood that mummy had not wanted to explain to her own children that she was dead. Whelp, the biggest concern was finding some form of misery or negativity somewhere so she could devour it, even if she had to create it. Anyone expect Alice and their current caretaker was simply cattle for the moment until she settled in enough to know who she could befriend, this was how it had to be or she'd starve in this new state.
Eventually she wandered to the south wing as she realized without exams or anything currently happening no one seemed to be leaking enough negative energy for her to get her unexperienced claws into. Red gaze focused forward as she looked at a purple haired neko and a silver haired girl, they'd have to do. "Geeze your face is a yolk train wreck." her snide smooth voice spoke up, one hand on her hip the other holding her scythe over her back as she pointed accusingly at the face of the girl who had just a bit of egg on her face. Bullying, regardless of her strength she had to resort to something so petty because she couldn't legally torture someone to make the negativity she needed to eat. "And you, well you just look completely lost, more deer than cat." she snorted out a stifled laughter, at the very least she'd get them pissed at her that way their hatred for her would be tangible enough she could eat it.

Emma groaned internally as she spotted what appeared to be a regular human, but honestly who really knows these days, start to approach her. The neko had certainly not prepared herself to be approached by someone, especially not so quickly. Still she needed to at least put in some effort to ensure that her brother’s spies would tell him all about her antisocial behaviour. Emma tilted her head ever so slightly, somewhat confused as the girl removed what appeared to be egg from her face, just what kind of moron goes around with bits of food attached to them so obviously. Do people in this place not wash their faces on a regular basis? Still she seemed polite enough with her simple greeting, so far the girl appeared at least somewhat normal, for now.
“Sup.” Emma responded with a bored expression that would tell most people that she wasn’t truly interested in conversation, just because she had to talk to people, didn’t mean she had to put in the effort to put up a farce and pretend to be happy about it.
“I guess it’s going about as good as it could be all things considered.” The neko muttered honestly, her expression not budging in the slightest. It’s not like she was hating this, it was just irritating that she had to put in effort when she could be relaxing. The thought of a nap was definitely a nice one right about now. Emma’s orchid eyes stared up into the girl’s there was definitely something a little odd about her, but the neko couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Well, it’s not like it mattered, who knows how often they would even see each other after this initial meeting. If everything were to go in Emma’s favour this would be their first and last conversation ever.
Emma had been so enthralled with her current predicament she had failed to notice the young girl approach. However, as she spoke the neko’s ears twitched and she pulled her orchid eyes from the silver haired girl to the little one that had spoken with an intense glare. ‘Did she just insult me?’ Emma thought irritatedly, now she had a proper look the black haired girl was about the same height as herself. The neko was still sitting on the couch, she moved her legs up and crossed them, placing her left elbow on her leg, hand holding up her chin, while her right arm was relaxed, her eyes piercing through the stranger, eyeing her up and down, for a good minute before she responded.
“Well you look like you could do with some fashion sense knocked into you. Or maybe you just need your eyes checked seeing as you can’t tell the difference between a doe and a queen.” Emma rebuked, a small smirk playing on her lips. Well this was certainly a nice change of pace, no unnecessary pleasantries with this shorty.

What was it with people trying to pick a fight with Catherine? First it was that crazy blonde chick with the pistol and that witch girl, now it was some short dark-haired chick with strange fashion sense. Were Nano-Augs aggro magnets in addition to conspiracy magnets?
Ignoring the flagrant provocation by the short dark-haired girl, Catherine spoke to the lavender-haired cat girl who had a brusque manner, if "manner" was the right term to use.
"Aside from suffering from acute embarrassment, I'm OK." Catherine said to Emma. Emma seemed like she could really care less and was just going through the motions. While the cat girl was no friend, she was also no threat to Catherine because participating in a conspiracy seemed to be too much work for the apathetic girl. The brunette could live with that kind of indifferent neutrality.

There was the scent of something metallic in the air but she couldn't tell anything apart from that. Even if she had been born half demonic due to the residual dog demon blood running through her mother's veins? Being an Inugami was turning out to be a completely different ball game interfering with her ability to use senses she had once been an expert with. The hunger within her stomach focused her senses to make her hyper aware of how displeased the neko was about this social situation, helping her 'hunt' in plain sight. Fueling the negativity of someone who was already discontent? Was far easier than breeding it out of thin air between people, the neko would be her meal today, she just had to push things far enough that her inexperienced claws could get into the purple haired creatures emotions.
"At least someone my age isn't expected to have fashion sense, what's your excuse?" not that her fashion sense was actually bad, in fact she had better sense of fashion than most of her family, willing to try unique outfits. Anything she could say to make things more unpleasant would be used, her own survival was more important than the woeful feelings of the masses. "And deer don't have queens, bambi, so your also as unlearned as a doe." with that comment she seated herself on the arm of the couch, setting her scythe to lean against the wall directly behind it.
Claws itching she moved her hand across the arm of the couch, almost able to taste the negativity rising off the purple haired one. "Aw suffering of embarrassment how cute, comparing suffering to feeling flustered, you've officially outdone the twelve year old, congratulations infant." she clapped with joyous laughter as a mocking backdrop, red optics cutting to the side to see how well her taunts had seasoned the meal she was brewing between them and herself.
One of the two was finally ready the negativity touching against her claws suddenly becoming a visible cloud of black smoke able to be seen by anyone as she lunged forward and while holding it with one hand cut it free of the purple haired neko with the other. "And that's dinner!" she happily exclaimed the comment as she shoved the black cloud towards her mouth, claws latched to keep it in place while she took bite after bite from it. "Thanks for the meal queenie." her voice was somewhat muffled by the black energy she was busy stuffing her face with.
