"Ms. Jensen. Please report to Professor Scarlet's office. Catherine Jensen. Please report to Professor Scarlet's office."
As Dawn heard the announcement go over the school's PA system a excited smile began to spread across her face. She had been looking forward to hearing that announcement all day though she was disappointed that the person speaking over the intercom hadn't given Catherine directions on how to get to her office. How was the girl suppose to even find her if they didn't tell her were to go? The Majin was one of the Academy's college professors, someone who as far as Dawn was concerned would be completely unknown to tenth grader. If it wasn't for the fact that the announcer was doing this as a favor for her Dawn would've gone to the office and ranted until their ears started bleeding. Instead she chose a very different course of action.
"Hey. You over there. Would you mind going to fetch Catherine for me? Those incompetent fools in the main office forgot to tell the girl how to get here. If you do this for me I'll think about giving you a small extra credit assignment to boost your that test score of your you came to talk to me about. She should be just getting out of....."
For a moment the professor went silent as she looked over to her computer screen and maneuvered her way through the school's network until she found Catherine's schedule. With a snap of her fingers and an extension of her pointer finger she indicated the class she was referring to.
"This one! Now hurry up! The longer it takes the more time I'll have to reconsider my offer~"
It may have been because Dawn rarely offered extra credit or maybe it was because he was too afraid of what would happen if he denied her but either way the college student would quickly get to his feet and began his journey to retrieve the girl that had caught the Majin's interest. As he left Professor Scarlet would spin around in the chair around her desk observing the room around her as she barely managed to contain her excitement. Now you may be wondering why this college professor was looking for a high school student and/or why she was so excited about it. At the end of the day the answers is quite simply. She had seen something that caught her interest while she was going through the school's records. Two words that caught her eye and filled her with curiosity. Nano-Augmented.
It was something Dawn had never seen before. What did it mean to be Nano-Augmented? For many other in this era they may have seen the word and immediately recognized its general meaning but now like any other age since her resurrection the Majin was playing catch up. Every time she believed she had finally caught up with the age and all its technological advances it always seemed like something new would come out of the woodworks. Something she had never seen or heard before and for someone who was over a thousand years old these intrigued her greatly. Sure, sometimes it was irritating to always being behind on all the new information but at the very least trying to catch up preventing her from getting bored.
As she waited for the subject of interest to arrive the teacher looked around her office pondering whether or not its appearance would frighten Catherine upon her arrival. There was nothing particularly scary about the room but the high levels of disorganization and the items contained inside the room were definitely enough to put someone who didn't know Dawn or the subject she taught on edge. The office wasn't particular large but it was stacked full of paper covered in strange and exotic symbols in all sorts of colors, created from all different kind of dyes. Some parchments were bound together in a manner that looked like the makeshift book while others pieces of paper simply had a single large symbol drawn on them and were hung from the wall. At the same time there also seemed to be a number of other similar papers and ancient looking books lying on Dawn's desk and on the wooden floor around it.
At the same time a number of a number of cabinets lined the walls of the medium sized room and if Catherine looked inside upon entering she'd find them filled with a number of strange object that all seemed to be occult in nature. On the wall behind the professor there was also a number of ornamental weapons contained in glass cases that also seemed to be beautiful decorated with ancient runes. Needless to say it would be plainly obvious to anyone who entered this room its owner was a very messy eccentric individual with an incredibly strong interest in the occult. Yet the teacher never felt self conscious about what people thought of her room. Instead she always looked forward to seeing the reaction on person's face when they saw it for the first time and it wouldn't be long before she got to see another one. She would simply have to wait for Catherine to arrive. Unfortunately, Dawn isn't known as the most patient individual and only a few minutes had passed before she started complaining.
"WHAT'S TAKING THEM SO LONG?!"
