NEKOGAMI
Name of Species: Nekogami
{CLICK HERE for Appearance, Culture, and Origin}
Baseline Dimension
[Human Form]
Nekogami in their human form take the same baseline dimensions in height and width as regular humans. Where exactly they end up in those dimensions is determined by their Original Form's dimensions, although there exist rare outliers to this rule of thumb. The only exception is their weight. Nekogami, due to their existence as highest class of spirit, only weigh roughly half of what a human their size would.
[Spirit Form]
Nekogami in their spirit form match the dimensions and weight of their human form, with the exception of their cat-ears and tail. A Nekogami's cat-ears and tail will match proportions to their human body in this form.
[Original Form]
The original form of a Nekogami takes the dimensions of a regular cat as the baseline. This is also the only form in which their weight matches that of a cat their size. However, this is the only form of theirs that ages. Over centuries, a Nekogami's original form can grow to match shoulder heights with a human.
Baseline Appearance
[Human Form]
In human form, a Nekogami is visually almost indistinguishable from a human. Their original form's fur coloration determines their hair color. Mixed fur colorations will fade and blend to accomodate, or the dominant coloration will determine hair color. Their eye color also directly translates from their original form, though especially vibrant color may or may not lose their vibrancy.
[Spirit Form]
In Spirit Form, a Nekogami's original and human forms overlap. While they keep the body of their human form, it will undergo several changes. Ears and Tail of their original form will 'grow' on them, their hair will fully mirror their fur, their eyes will change to those of their original form's color, sometimes even taking their shape. Some of them will grow claws and fangs as well. An older Nekogami's fur patterns will appear on some parts of their skin, as tattoo-like marks. Finally, in this form, a colored hue will appear around their eyes and on their eyelids. This can take any coloration. Older Nekogami may notice this hue to slightly expand over time, to finally branch out into slight patterns after roughly a century.
[Original Form]
A Nekogami's original form is that of a cat. Thus, everything that goes for a cat, goes for a Nekogami's original form's appearance. An exception would be eye coloration, which can be anything on the visible spectrum. Older Nekogami may develop clearly unnatural fur patterns.
Culture/Origin of Species
Nekogami are a small species as they rarely come into existence. So rare in fact that even during their long lives, it's common for them to never meet one of their kind, unless they live in the most crowded places.
A Nekogami is only ever born when a cat carrying at least one unborn kitten and a pure-souled human die an involuntary death at the same moment, as a result of the human's actions. In that moment, while the parent's soul is laid to rest, the souls of kitten and human merge to create a new spirit. In the process, the human's memory is lost. The spirit will find itself wandering the earth unseen and unheard by most, until the moment one hundred years have passed and it ascends to godhood, becoming a Nekogami which will find itself manifesting in a place of spirituality. How this process happens or how the place of manifestation is chosen remain mysteries to this day. Upon manifesting, Nekogami will be conscious of themselves and their purpose. Their mind will be fully grown, but it will lack any memory of the steps it's existence underwent before manifesting. This often leads to them having troubles fitting in with civilization for the first years of their existence.
A Nekogami's purpose or role is that of a benevolent protector. A guardian. The species is meant to care for all felines living and passing, to hear the pleas and answer them, bless those who do good on their protectees, curse those who do evil on them and generally to be a positive influence on their surroundings.

Traits
• Shift || Nekogami can choose to freely shift between their three forms.
• Nekogami Senses || Not only do they posess the enhanced senses of a cat, but Nekogami can also sense the presence of any feline in their surroundings, as well as perceive the spiritual side of things.
• Spirit Magic || As incredibly potent spirit users, Nekogami are especially in tune with the divine and light, yet can access a great deal of spells with ease.
• Divine Spirit || As the powerful spirits they are, Nekogami have naturally high energy reserves.
• Karma || Nekogami have the innate ability to bless or curse others. Most effective on felines. A Nekogami's blessing brings not only luck, but also cures wounds and protects from harm to a degree. Their curses attract danger and bring bad luck.
• Immortal || Nekogami are effectively immortal. While they can be killed, they won't die on their own. Along with this comes an incredibly slow aging process, which only applies to their Original Form and the elements it carries over into Spirit Form. Their human aspects are set at the moment they manifest and will not change or age. It takes about a century for their Original Forms to reach adulthood, after which they will stop growing and only their markings will continue to expand, continously slowing down until they stop at an age of about fivehundred.
Flaws
• Feline Attraction || All felines, sentient or not, are naturally aware of a Nekogami's presence. Unintelligent felines will be drawn toward them, making them incredibly easy to locate.
• Guardian Deity || Due to their nature as protectors, Nekogami will hear the prayers directed toward them. Even if they can tune them out somewhat, there is no escaping this. They will also feel compelled to fulfill their duty and answer these prayers. Ignoring their duty will render the Nekogami weak, sick and unable to tune out the prayers until they resume doing their job.
• Summonable || Albeit by far not an easy process, Nekogami can be summoned. If successfully contracted, the Nekogami will feel nigh irresistibly compelled to follow their summoner's orders. OOC Permission required.
