In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Hearing her answer only gave Zekigne more questions. Why would she need to tell him anything? They met once and parted ways. What did she need to tell him? He was struggling as he didn't understand but supposed he could just ask her. 'She owes me for breaking the door down. But she was trying to protect me, so I owe her.' He didn't know what to say at first so he didn't say anything for a minute. "I-I mean, thank you for being concerned.. But.. Why, come see me? What did you need to tell me?'

Ryse rubbed the back of her head as her smile disappeared, a more serious look returning to her face. "Uh, well.... I'm going to be taking a trip back home in Hisakawa for about a week. I'm going to see my mom, and I leave tomorrow. I wanted to tell you before I left...."
Was it weird that she'd wanted to tell him? She'd only talked to him once, it was true. But she felt she owed him this at least. "I didn't want you to come to my room and find me gone without giving an explanation, so I thought I would tell you."

He listened to her as she told him that she was taking a trip to her homeland to see her mother. And that she didn't want him thinking she was in her room and thus knocking on her door only to be disappointed. Zekigne felt a strong sense of relief from hearing this, but. Also a little sad. He wasn't sure why. Was it because she was the only person who was trying to reach out to him? She did chase him just to make a proper greeting. 'Of course she could have chased me because she wanted to explo-' Zekigne shook his head. Regaining his strength slowly and thus allowing him to cut off the voices once more. "I, well.. Thank you for, letting me know... though I don't know why you bother telling me," He said, muttering the last one almost inaudibly. He sat there for a little while, not saying anything. It was slowly dawning on him that he had a girl in his room and he was becoming more and more uncomfortable as the realization took root. To the point where he buried his face into his knees to hide his blushing.

The teenager smiled and nudged him with an elbow, laughing a little. "I wanted to tell you because I knew you would be sad if I didn't. Plus, I would feel bad if you went to my room and I wasn't there."
She was already beginning to like the other student. He was shy and frightful of others. But she would like to get to know him better. That, and she got the feeling that he needed a friend. So why not talk to him and be nice to him? There wasn't any harm in it.

'She thinks we're so weak we'd be sad she left. I should-' Zekigne shook the thought away. 'She was concerned for us, I should-' Zekigne shook the thought away as well. 'I should do nothing... It's better if she doesn't become friends with me... It's better if I'm alone. What if I use my powers in my sleep? Will I accidentally kill her?' He looked up to her after she nudged him, his blushing gone now. "W-well, thank you for letting me know." 'What time are you leaving? I would love to wish you luck, and carry your things if you need help with them.' Zekigne almost said this aloud but was able to keep it from happening, his fingers grasping his crossed arms tightly as he struggled with it. Instead of saying that, he managed only to say: "What um, what time will you leave? In the morning?"

"It's no problem." Ryse said brightly, beaming at Zeke as she gave another laugh. "You would do the same if it were me, maybe." Truth be told, she didn't know what he would do if he were in her shoes. Would he just leave without telling her? Or would she do what she was doing now? She had no way to be sure.
"Oras will probably want to leave in the morning. So I think that we'll leave somewhere around that time. He's going to be traveling with me. It's not exactly a field trip traveling to Hisakawa after all." She replied, nodding. "I should be gone only about a week, though. I can come see you when I get back~ How about that?"

She mentioned how he would do the same for her, but that wasn't really true... The only reason he'd be leaving would be if he was found out. Or worse, he hurt someone else because of his natures... Or hurt himself badly because of it. He didn't want people following him if that was the case, so he probably wouldn't tell her... Though he supposed he could leave a note. 'However that would ruin my head start, giving them time to catch up. I shouldn't say anything to give myself more time. But then again, I might hurt her feelings, and I don't want that.' When she mentioned how she'd be leaving in the morning his angelic side was pushing for him to wake up early so as to watch her leave, but he was able to resist that. When she mentioned someone called Oras he looked at her in confusion, not knowing who that was. And when she mentioned she'd be back in about a week he nodded very subtly. "Ok.."

Ryse nodded, and turned her head to look out the window where sunlight was streaming into the room. She reveled in its warmth for a few minutes before her smile faded, away awkwardness setting in after several minutes of quiet. She shifted in her spot seated by Zeke, unsure what to say. The other student didn't seem to talkative at the moment himself, which didn't make things any less awkward.
Finally, the teenager gave a cough and moved to stand up. "Uh, well... I should probably get going. I have to finish the last of my homework I have due before I leave...." She shifted from foot to foot, looking at the boy uncertainly. She was tempted to ask about the glowing door that had happened several minutes ago, but decided against it. She would ask him when she got back. Hopefully when Zeke was less nervous and flighty. "I'll see you when I get back okay?" She said with a smile. The hybrid walked to the door and opened it, gently shutting it to prevent it from falling off its hinges. She would need to heal her shoulder when she got back to her room. And possibly ask for someone to repair the other student's door. Yeah.... that would be good. As she walked back to her room, she smiled once again.
She was looking forward to the trip tomorrow.
