welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The Vamp Wolf | "Hey, get back here, you little-" ...nope, they clearly weren't going to listen, eh? Then again, why would he have expected anything else out of cheeky bastards who clearly thought something like this to be funny? He must be going senile for thinking that even for a hot second. What wasn't very hot however, was the fact that he was now standing in an empty classroom by himself, looking like he just committed bloody murder, his entire shirt drenched and dripping with blood, already creating a small puddle of blood around him. And now the door was wide open, as his three 'companions' ran off giggling like this was the funniest thing in the world. Yeah sure, maybe if you had your head screwed on backwards! He sure was more than a little angry at the moment, the expression on his face giving that away very obviously as he glared at the swung open door, seemingly not even truly minding his state of being right then and there. Which...as great as it was, probably did require some attention. Especially since this...was going to look really wrong when someone walked past and took notice. Whether accidentally, or because they noticed those runaways and wondered what was going on. Either way, he was in a bit of a bind there. Also, fuck, he was going to have to clean this too now. Nyx was going through the hallways after having gotten out of a class, surprised she had been allowed to stay to watch a video of a surgery play for the biology course since she had always been pulled out for such things in her old school. Apparently? Eldritch had no care for how dangerous a Blood Devil could be or something, she didn't quiet know, nothing made sense around here. When a teacher suddenly took you home, it ended questioning everything for a while, so Nyx just went with the flow of this new freaky place.
"You look worse than I normally do." she laughed slightly, stupid grin on her face at the sight of all the blood spread across Sharaku, walking up to him while she stumbled a few paces. It smelled so delicious and at this point she wasn't going to deny herself blood as the doctors had recommended keeping well fed. "I'll just be taking this." she hummed the comment out, manipulating the blood off his shirt and the floor, channeling it to where she could put the substance into her mouth. If he looked down at her and tried to take note of her features? The hybrid would notice her one shoulder was bandaged as if she had been wounded, but otherwise the tank top and jeans she wore, even the sneakers, it was all normal.

The Vamp Wolf | Oh great.
For a moment, he’d stare a bit blankly, internally processing just how unfortunate this situation was, for obvious reasons which the girl that walked in on him might not have realized at first glance. Not sure how to respond to this initially, he’d settle for a smart remark. “…I’ll take that as a compliment.” Yes, he probably looked quite bad to an onlooker, so that was sort of a fact. It didn’t stay at that though, and he was forced to give her a half-sheepish look when she decided to do ‘clean up’ herself. He’d cough slightly to clear his throat. “If you must…though I’d hope you won’t be getting a taste for this, as I’d rather stay conscious and mostly alive…for the most part at least.” Yeah well, it wouldn’t have been that much of an issue if he had simply spilled some random blood on himself, in which case, he wouldn’t have any reason to care. Alas, his current state of being was caused by the stupidity of his work mates who apparently had minus points in their dexterity abilities.
If she looked at him more closely, it would be noticeable that a part of his shirt was slightly torn, as if something had cleanly shredded through it, and there was a fairly long cut going from his shoulder diagonally downwards. He wasn’t bleeding much anymore at this point, which he was glad for as losing even more blood would have started becoming troublesome…but still, it made this quite awkward so to speak. It wasn’t necessarily that he minded someone drinking his blood, but it wasn’t…generally the most desirable thing either…for a multitude of reasons. Leaning back against a desk behind him, he’d huff. “I’ll wager to guess neither of us is having the best days?”, he’d question, somewhat wryly. He did take notice that she was bandaged herself, so it was safe to assume he wasn’t the only one going around and getting himself involuntarily cut up. |

He was just staring but that didn't surprise her too much as while he knew what she was that did not mean he was any better prepared for just how much she enjoyed blood and what she would do for it. Of course, something else could have happened too in order to leave him stunned, she didn't rule that out either, it was Sharaku after-all. Taking it as a compliment huh? She guessed he could with a shrug of her shoulders and a small scoff from her throat. "I guess since I'm not the typical devil that can actually be a compliment." she laughed slightly, realizing it really could be since she was never really covered in blood or anything like that, the worst she had ever gotten was blood down the front of her shirt sometimes after a messy feeding.
Blue optics turned up to him again as he was speaking, tilting her head in slight confusion. "Huh?" she knew he was a hybrid, but he may have neglected to tell what he actually was and she only knew what she 'overheard' around which was never very exact, sadly. Luckily, Blood Devils could drink the blood of anything, even each other, so the fact he was part vampire wouldn't hurt her like it may have another vampire. "Actually that was the first time I'd ever fed to the point someone passed out, really didn't know what else to do." it was the only thing she knew for sure he could be referencing to when he spoke about remaining conscious. "Well mine is actually a few days old, and it's my fault. I got between a Vampire Hunter and a Vampire, counted on the fact if he attacked me I'd combust, luckily I was right and he had to drop the weapon because it got too hot for him." her hand was bandaged too, but she didn't know how that one happened, still unable to remember the rage she had entered into before. Slightly she rubbed her shoulder, the limb still a little sore considering it had a sword go a few centimeters into it. "Today itself isn't too bad, though it's going to be weird going home to Dawn's place after school." but, she didn't have a choice seeing as she lived with the occult teacher now since her father had never returned for her and she needed somewhere to stay.
Leaning against one of the desks she took a small break from the floating orb of blood she had collected. "You're a bit spicy, you know that right?" that could so easily be taken the wrong way if one did not realize the girl was talking about the blood she was drinking. "Also I can stop the bleeding and help with the recovery a bit if you let me bite you. My venom works even if I haven't fed directly, but it does need to go into the blood stream directly." after she spoke the female took a little more from the orb she had floating next to her, not wanting to drink too much at once, lest she burn her tongue on the spicy nature of it.

The Vamp Wolf | “Actually, whether it can be or not is irrelevant, because if I decide I want to take something as a compliment, then it simply is.”, he’d shoot back, seeming completely convinced about that. Honestly, he was never one to follow any rules that he did not care for, and making his own was pretty easy too. That, and he usually meant statements like those as a half-joke in some way or form. Both completely serious and not really at the same time, because in his mind that was somehow a perfectly valid way for things to be. Either that, or he just didn’t care. Perhaps even both at the same time. Not like most people would really understand his mind…
He’d blink a few times before shrugging slightly. “That was more of a general statement, honestly. I wouldn’t want anyone to make attempts at sucking me dry.” It didn’t really matter to him what they were. It was about what they chose to do in the end. While blood loss alone wouldn’t kill him, he’d still be out of it for a while, and trusting people to not do anything to him while he wasn’t conscious was a hard bargain. Being handled without permission wasn’t something he was fond of. “For someone who doesn’t want to fight, you appear to get yourself in dangerous situations fairly often.” There was a small amount of amusement in that, though in all fairness, he had to wonder. She willingly stepped in between a battle, despite not wishing to fight? Sounded kind of reckless, but then again, he wasn’t the one to talk, as he’d likely do something equally bold in a similar situation. Albeit with the difference that he had no issue engaging in combat, were it a necessary course of action. “Dawn?”, he’d question with a brief raise of an eyebrow. Not that he cared much, but since she thought it important to mention another person, he might as well ask, since he didn’t think he recognized that name. Not immediately anyhow.
…spicy? “Hmph…you’re welcome? I’d take burning people down any day, really.” He had an idea as to what she was referring to, but it could be said that it was rather fitting in general as well. He had absolutely no qualms about putting fire under people’s asses, so spicy might as well be his default flavor. And maybe it was, considering he was in a state of irritation nearly 24/7, with occasional breaks here and there. “Eh…I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary, as I’m not fainting yet. Though I suppose I don’t have a reason to stop you either.” He wasn’t exactly sure what he thought of the idea just yet, but he doubted it would inconvenience him…although… “…but if you do, I’d ask you to not make it long. I’m a little touch averse when it comes to skin to skin contact, and I’d rather avoid making this too uncomfortable, if I can.”, he’d give her a half-frown there, though despite his words, he didn’t appear to be way too heavily against it. |

He was an ever so dangerous man without even realizing it, but she could very easily see the risk he presented to those around him. By making his own rules about everything around him like that? Sharaku was at constant risk of pissing off the wrong entity off and causing something of calamity around his existence, it was just how the universe worked, one couldn't live that way consequence free. How did she know all of that thought? She'd always lived within the rules, Nyx had no idea why she had an idea what it may be like to live against the normal rules of society, at least everything she knew told her she should have no clue. "That's going to get you into trouble one day." she mused, chuckling slightly afterwards.
"I swear they're just attracted to me, starting when I transferred, I have no idea why, I managed to stay out of trouble my whole life until now." she really felt a trouble magnet while she was attending this school, at least when one compared her situations to the fact she didn't want to fight. Yet, now every single time she thought about not wanting to fight, her chest tightened like someone was sitting on it, suffocating her. The small girl could not pin point exactly when the feeling of incompletion had snuck into her heart, but if she had to place a good guess the girl could swear it was around the same time the Desire Demon showed her that man in those illusions. What was it about one man she'd never known that made some small part of her heart feel like she should fight? That place in the illusion, the floor of blood, hall lined in bones, pile of skulls as a center piece, she missed all of that even though that was the first time she saw anything like that.
Nyx tilted her head slightly when he seemed to not know who Dawn was, slightly confused since the girl was a fairly rambunctious teacher. "She's the occult studies teacher" easily she provided the information, especially since it was fairly common knowledge in her mind. "Sounds complicated." she hummed it out when he explained his circumstance and hesitation to her aid, one elfin ear twitching as she stared up towards him. Deciding she was indeed going to aid him since he had not flat out refused the child-like devil let her venom drip from her fangs, making sure it was coming out in a small steady flow before jumping up to bite into the wound before releasing just as quickly. Landing on the nearby desk she held her hand a foot away from the injury causing the blood to stop flowing from it, holding a small layer on the surface so it would clot quickly without expending any more. The only major thing through all of that, was the fact she bit like she was a truck hitting someone when she was doing it quick, no ability to be gentle remaining when she was just doing it swiftly. With enough strength to lift a car? It was not shocking the girls strength was fierce even in her jaw.

The Vamp Wolf | He’d wave a hand, almost dismissively. “Always. I’d rather that than be controlled by rules I don’t know the credibility of. There’s always those who make the rules, and those who follow, but why should I follow some random higher-up’s rules without question? If they have a problem, they can try to challenge me to prove me wrong, but until then, I shall do things my way.” If he saw reason in a given rule, he’d be more inclined to follow, but those instances where it was a rule just because someone said so? What reason did he have to respect that right off the bat? The world was a harsh place anyway. Life was rarely made that much better by being a mindless follower, and he certainly didn’t intend to be a doormat. In some situations, he could pose as danger perhaps, but he didn’t lack morals, nor was an inherently bad person, therefore it was unlikely he’d pick the horrible options. Most likely, he’d just be pissing off those people with superiority complexes who thought they were the bosses by default. He’d bet they could use being taken down a peg anyway.
It would take a few moments of him contemplating, before he laughed under his breath faintly. “This school is definitely not what I’d call peaceful, considering all things. Unless you hide yourself in a hole, you’re likely to run into situations that require actions you seem to not wish to take.” They had jobs that involved straight up battle, and an option to focus studies on that path as well. With that being out in the open, there would obviously be a lot of similar types of activities taking place at the school itself too, whether through classes or just the students trying to have ‘fun’. Staying out of that type of ‘trouble’ here was probably…a near impossible feat, assuming one wanted to be part of school life at least in some way.
“…I see. I think I might have seen that name before. I don’t think I’ve met her personally yet though.” There were plenty of teachers and other staff members milling about, and he didn’t go out of his way to make acquaintances with all of them, unless something asked for it. “I’m complicated times infinity.”, he’d snort, not even trying to deny that. It’d surprise him if someone confidently said they thought he was a simple person, and he’d definitely want to hear their reasoning for it, were that to ever happen. That said, he’d grit his teeth for a short moment as she bit him, not having expected the amount of force behind that. He had taken worse in the past, but he was sure this was going to leave him with a dull ache at least for a while. Taking a breath, he’d give her a sideways glance. “You’ve got some heavy power there, for your size. How old are you even?” A little out of nowhere to ask that, but with the vibe she gave, he doubted she was a kid despite looking it at a first glance. Seriously, it was nigh impossible to guess with so many near immortal or just slow aging races walking around. |

Listening to him slightly she laughed as he spoke about the nature of school, he wasn't wrong but it always confused her as to why Askel had enrolled her here when he was the one who told her to never fight. "Yeah, I get the feeling sometimes the academy actually wants me to do the opposite of what my father taught me." That they actually wanted her to pick up any weapon of her choice and cut through whatever mass of enemies they could slice through, as if it was the right thing for her to be doing even though it was morally sinful. As of late? The taste of her own blood had becoming sweeter as she grappled with wanting to do exactly that and the preaching's she had listened to that raising her claws even in self defense was wrong. How was she supposed to know which one was her true desire, it was troublesome no matter how it was considered.
Most people never asked about her age, since she looked so much like a child and sometimes could nearly behave like an incredibly well behaved one, plus all the species in the world making it sometimes taboo to ask. Nyx turned her head towards him, blinking once before she decided to entertain him. "I'm 18, according to records, I could be a pinch younger or older since I was adopted and they don't know exactly what age I was when they put me in the system just roughly that I was around 6 and I was adopted right after." still something about saying she was 18 felt so wrong, emotion screamed there was another number to say, but logic said that was the right answer. Maybe she just felt younger because she hadn't seemed to age a day since she was found. "But don't think all Blood Devil's age like me, or rather don't age. I've actually never seen another of my kind." but she had heard plenty about the beasts they existed as. Laughing slightly she decided to go in for one more comment. "I guess in terms of a young woman I'm lucky, when I'm thirty I'll probably look like a teenager or something, I haven't aged a day in any of my life that I can remember." the female laughed slightly lashing her tail back and forth at the humor of it, everyone for the most part thought she was a kid.

The Vamp Wolf | He’d hum for a moment. “Different people, different opinions? Some may be against fighting, and some see it as necessary. Technically, we’d have a hard time if nobody here fought…the school would get steamrolled by those who do and count as enemies.” That sounded…like it’d be a really bad situation. In the end, it didn’t surprise him that they’d be happy to arm anyone who was even remotely willing to go for it. Being unable to defend yourself could be a flat out death wish for most people.
Furrowing his brows, he’d consider her for a while, before shaking his head in mild amusement. “Well, at least it’s not that weird anyway, since I’m still older.” Okay well, maybe he wouldn’t mind if that wasn’t the case, but it would be strange outwardly. Someone who’s seemingly just a child being older than a person nearly twice their size is both hilarious as well as potentially a little creepy to consider. “Can’t say I know how age works either. It’s hard to when there’s no such thing as a normal lifespan…unless one species is used as a general reference for everyone.” Which would be the normal one then, though? “Besides, I haven’t met anyone who’s exactly like me either, so fuck me if I know.” He has seen members of both of his halves, yes, but never someone who was both like him, as it was hardly common. Weres and vampires were a danger to each other and normally did not get along well after all. The chances that he’d come across anyone else who was both was most likely quite low due to that. “Doesn’t being seen as young suck though? I’d probably get really annoyed if someone treated me as a kid who doesn’t know better.” Appearance was a tricky subject. You could be hundreds of years old, but if you appeared to be ten years old, you would typically get brushed off a lot faster. “Anyway…”, he’d push off of the desk to straighten up fully. “Since you’re already here, want to do something, or is this one of those sit and chat segments?” |

Different opinions was her problem, no one could ever truly decide between so many different moral options, there had to be some truth out there in the world, a truth of nature waiting to be discovered, a law civilization had forgotten about. Nyx wasn't quiet ready to search for the truth sleeping within her emotional state, not ready to shed the good girl that had built up over the years. Even past her denial, somewhere deep inside her body already knew that she was not made for the life she was living, that violence, bloodshed, war, and the like was all just like breathing for her. "Alright grandpa." she chuckled the comment out, smirking up at the taller male, kicking one leg as she plopped her butt down onto the desk. He seemed good enough natured to play around with from time to time. "Occasionally it happens, but the fact I'm a Blood Devil often offsets any childish antics from most, considering adolescent blood devils are just as dangerous as the adults." when she was younger she always wondered why the teachers who were twice her size stared at her as if she dangerous occasionally in her old school, now she understood. "Actually my father once told me he was glad he adopted me older because apparently we're born intuitively knowing how to use all our abilities and until we're older we just indiscriminately lash out. It didn't used to make sense when it was explained cause who would take care of the baby if it accidently killed it's parents, but than I found out we're just about entirely freaking immortal, somehow, I still don't know how that works." it all explained why very few creatures wanted to treat her as if she was some innocent child as many likely assumed she already blood under her claws, unaware of her pacifist lifestyle.
"What about whatever did that to you? Want to go after it?" when he talked about changing things up, she was quick to bring up the wound he had spread across him that she had now sealed up for him. Whatever did that, clearly could be interesting. "I may not fight, but I have other tricks up my sleeve." she shrugged, looking down at her arms. There wasn't enough blood in the room, having finished what she got from him, she now wanted to see more.

The Vamp Wolf | “…not that old. I’ll probably die of boredom before I ever get that far.” And that’s metaphorically speaking to begin with, as he was unlikely to be anyone’s grandpa for real. “So you say, but treating someone as potential danger isn’t the same as treating them with respect.”, he’d half shrug at that. Sure, you could think a kid was dangerous and thus be less soft and playful around them, focusing more on being on guard, but that wasn’t the same as treating a person as an adult. It was a reaction borne of fear, although maybe it counted somewhat just because it was still different? It wouldn’t to him, but he was the type to separate everything when he could. “A lot…of species are near immortal, so that’s not an entirely new thing…can’t say much about babies however. Never been around any, and not trying to be either.” Screaming little bundles of meat? Sign him out, preferably as fast as possible. He didn’t want his hair to go gray prematurely. At the mention of chasing the ‘culprit’, he’d scrunch up his nose in mild distaste. “Actually, more like ‘they’, and I frankly lack the drive to go hunt down other students. I’m pretty sure they did it on purpose, probably to see if something that drinks blood can bleed too, but considering they ran off the moment they realized I was ready to bite their heads off for it, they’re just a bunch of sissies and it wouldn’t even be fun to pay them back. Probably. Besides, idiots or not, I don’t wish to get in trouble personally.”, he’d gruff, fixing the collar of his shirt absentmindedly. “I could track them down if I really needed to though.” Would it do any good however? |

It was good to know she could become an incredibly deadly force against Sharaku just by becoming an exceptionally dull person, knowing such a thing allowed her to avoid doing it because she didn't want to kill anyone. Yet, it was there again, the pain of needle pricks on her heart as if all she actually wanted to do was fight him to the death or something. Nothing in the world made sense since she had joined this academy, and it brought another sigh from the girls fanged mouth.
"We have to." she was fairly quick to speak those words once she heard the male explain what had taken place to cause the situation which left him with the injuries. Being a pacifist as a Blood Devil had led to its fair share of trouble in her old school, she knew how this would go if he didn't take care of it now. "They think you're a freak show. All of them will tell other people, and before you know it, they won't be the only one's pulling that stunt, you could get seriously injured if you don't scare the lights out on them now. Trust me. Other's are like wolves when they think that picking on something different has no real consequence." she sighed slightly rubbing her rib cage to rid herself of the reflex induced pain and wipe the cringe off her face. "I'll tell Dawn and Mr.Ozaki what happened afterwards, they'll make sure any trouble we get in is minimal. They endangered your life, I can at least look terrifying while you threaten them, you know I'm a pacifist, they don't." She was considerably more frightening when someone didn't know she that she did not have it within her to cause harm. Only, she didn't even completely believe she was harmless anymore.
Reaching into her pocket she fished out her cell phone holding it out. "If I end up having to light myself on fire I don't want to damage it. Mind holding onto this until we teach them a lesson on picking on people?" Shizuko had only just gotten her the new one.

The Vamp Wolf | “Huh?”
He’d actually give her an incredulous look at first when she suddenly insisted on doing it, despite him voicing his intentions to not bother. Nevertheless, he would listen to what she had to say, kind of curious as to what brought on the adamant determination to go through with this goose chase.
Oh right, people and their reactions. The tall young man found himself scratching the back of his neck languidly as he considered the matter. “I know what people are like…” He really did. His approach and views on it were different from hers however. They were free to think what they wanted. It didn’t bother him by default. Smack talk about his person wasn’t something he was particularly sensitive to. In fact, he considered it a good passive way of weeding people out to let him know who was worth his attention in the first place. Those who’d run with it and judge him based on a random rumor they heard or whatever? He needn’t respect someone like that. A good way of finding genuinely considerate people was to see how much chance they gave to someone at first, regardless of species and gossip bullshit. And for that, he was very much willing to risk the occasional aggressor thinking he was easy pickings to go after. Perhaps that was just him though. “I also don’t care however. I won’t even deny that I perhaps am a freak. It does not bother me, especially not when it’s coming from people I barely know. Letting people have the choice to treat me that way lets me know who’s worth any attempt of courtesy from me without the extra effort of needing to chat with them first to find out. A risky game to play maybe, but to gain something, you have to be willing to go the extra mile.”, he’d shrug. He understood the wolf mentality well, after all, he was one himself. But perhaps that was part of why he was also willing to entertain the challenge.
Still, he’d shift to push away a few loose strands of hair that were falling over his eyes. “I suppose being the direct aggressor once in a while doesn’t hurt me either though. Today was kind of boring so far anyway, so I shall play along this time around. Hope you enjoy yourself.”, he’d state in a mildly amused tone of voice as he reached to take the offered phone. “Not worried I’d try to steal?”, he’d question, almost teasingly while he put it into one of his pants pockets for now. “Well then, let’s get going?”, he’d wave a hand nonchalantly before moving to stride out of the classroom. |

He was far too passive in the world, even more than herself, from everything she was seeing the teenager was surprised no one had caused serious harm to the older boy yet. Dull aches spread across her body, memories from the past, Nyx did her best to ignore them as hers could no longer be remedied, nothing could ever change the fact she'd let them beat her bloody simply because she refused to hit them back. "Apparently you don't know people as well as you think." she sighed out, sliding off the desk to stand next to him looking towards the door of the classroom. "It's one thing when people are using names, calling you a freak, they're punks at that point." it wasn't name calling that concerned her and she didn't know how he couldn't see that after what had just happened to him. "People like the cowards who just attacked you. They aren't just punks, such cowards will be back to do it again unless something makes sure they never think of trying it again, and don't think for a second they won't spread the word that you didn't go after them for it. I've lived it before, they will be back in greater numbers like cockroaches unless you do something now." the female sighed at the end of her statement, shaking her head at his lackluster motivation towards keeping himself safe.
She smiled slightly when he finally agreed to go after them, spreading her wings open at her sides, listening to him continuing to speak towards her. "If you were going to do that, you'd have snatched and taken off already." he wasn't exactly the most playful person, if he was going to steal something the male would just get it over with as if life was some race to the end.
Nyx nodded as he headed out the door, following him they passed a large burly man whom nodded at the young Blood Devil as his way of knowing that he had heard the conversation in the classroom and wouldn't dart her for whatever threats she threw at the other students when they found them. It was one thing for him to dart her when she was threatening someone out of control, but if she actually decided to do so when she was calm, he really had no right to stop her as long as she didn't try to kill them. "I just wish they had left something of theirs behind, I would have been able to find them within a few moments for us." she grumbled the comment slightly, fallowing a step behind him scanning the halls for anyone who may have blood on them or had just washed it off.

The Vamp Wolf | That wasn’t…. “…” Yes, they clearly had different opinions on how severe of a handling this situation was in need of. While he understood her point, this was not some random part of the world, out in the wilds, where you could do whatever you wanted, without any sort of consequence looming over you. The school may be in favor of teaching its students how to battle, but as far as he was aware, harassment that could endanger someone’s life was not allowed here, simply by rules of conduct. Idiots who swallowed the hook without thinking and thought they could do things like that were only risking getting themselves in trouble, and potentially expelled. How many would actually be dumb enough to want that, just for the chance at hurting a person? Besides, not everyone here was a bigoted fuck either, considering living amongst a multitude of different races was a daily matter, so likely, most people wouldn’t even listen to such suggestions for real. That, and she was making assumptions quite quickly based just on the few things he said about what he thought of this. He’d shake his head, offering her a wry smile. “Well….just because your experience is somewhat different from mine, or we have differing opinions on how to deal with such matters, I assure you it doesn’t mean I don’t know what people are capable of.” Maybe show would work better instead of tell? Not like he had a problem with people being aware or anything either way. Turning towards her, he’d partially take of his shirt, showing her the scars that spanned across his upper body. It wouldn’t have been in sight before as the shoulder he had injured this time was on the other side. Regardless, the quite thick, jagged scars gave the impression of having been carved through with something fairly large, or at least something equally as bad. And it had to be quite the something, if despite his ability to heal back up over time due to his species, it still left scars that did not heal properly. “Trust me, I have a very good idea.” It was far from a pleasant one to think about, but it was what it was. He’d huff faintly as he worked on fixing his attire back up afterwards. “I can see where you’re coming from…however, I say what I say because of the current circumstances at hand. We’re not in a rule-free, random location in the world, worrying about some tribe members potentially thinking someone is good prey due to stupid rumors. This is a school. Do you really believe there would be many who bite such an offer from a pair of coward nobodies, knowing that it could get them expelled for breaking the student behavior conducts? Only dumbasses who lack braincells would think injuring someone heavily was worth getting kicked out if they were reported, or even worse, straight up caught doing it. If actions like that were freely allowed here, this school would burn itself down quite quickly, I’d say. Even if the consequence isn’t me scaring them to all hell, it isn’t as if there is no backlash to such behavior. And if they try to follow me elsewhere? It would still be hard to hide what happened in the end.” He could take it upon himself to dish out some pain, but it also wasn’t a matter or do or die. It wasn’t that he was entirely passive….he was simply more reactive than proactive. If it became a serious problem right in his face, he’d do all he could to stomp it out but as it was, there was no guarantee of anything, really. It was like going on a search for cockroaches to eradicate, when there was no proof they were even really there and a problem. Though yes, it was a valid option, but not one he would participate in often. Guess today was a bit of an exception… “Perhaps. Or I could wait and pretend I forgot I had it in the end and not give it back once we’re done.” It wasn’t as much playing as it was about coming up with a strategy. Run right away, or casually try to leave with it once things were settled? Both ways could work after all. Not that he was actually trying to of course. Just speculating here. Leaving it at that, he would make his way out, casting a brief glance at the man there. Nyx seemed to know him, and he almost wanted to question, but he’d shrug it off for the time being. There were more important things at hand to focus on right now. He’d chuckle faintly at her grumbles. “No need to worry. I can do it. I remember their scent since they got close to me back there, and I am part ‘dog’ after all. Tracking shouldn’t be too hard.” A little tricky maybe, due to the multitude of different scents in the air, left by all the different students who passed through these halls, but it was not an impossible task. Pausing for a little while to focus, he’d eventually point towards the hallway that seemed to be leading towards the outside of the building. “Looks like they decided to flee the place entirely.” Not too surprising, and even less so considering it’s already been a while since the incident now. |
