welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Given her more outgoing nature it was easy to assume she had been the one to inquire to Sharaku about forming an official team for the benefits it provided, namely ensuring the school continued to send them on missions together frequently like tonight. Adjusting to new mission partners? Was in neither of their best interests, considering her pacifism and his general lack of fondness for excessive socialization. Thus, Blood Wolf became acknowledged by whatever organization certified teams, leading to them easily being assigned this new mission together. "Are you sure we're going the right way?" The voice of the little Blood Devil sounded in the silence of the nameless woods reportedly dwelled by the creature they had come here to … Hunt.. they were here to hunt and she just didn't know how she felt about that anymore. Hunting other living things? Was wrong, Father had always said that to her, but now that she was away from him the young girl was starting to realize that was his very career. Why was it wrong for her to hunt when the man who made the rule hunted himself, maybe she should go for another training session with Oras, perhaps the man training her for self defense could shed some light on the situation. "No matter which way I look, I don't see any game for the wolves to be hunting. What would they be doing here?" the forest was incredibly dark at this point at dusk right before the moon would rise over it, so one had to wonder how in the world Nyx was seeing apparently perfectly fine. Of course? If one glanced at her it easily became evident she had fire burning behind her eyes helping her to see. "I really don't feel anything here." and considering her physic ability the girl was sure she should have felt something at this point, wolves had intentions just like people did, some trace of it should be around if they'd traveled this path recently. "I think that Scholar gave us the wrong information, Sharaku, I really think we should stop following this map, it's getting us nowhere but deeper into the woods with no sign of the wolves." the female hit the back of her hand against the topographical map she was holding of the woods, pointing to various locations on it that they had passed which were marked as places the wolves would be.

The Vamp Wolf | Generally speaking, it wasn’t that he wouldn’t work with whoever he had to, although it couldn’t be denied that it was way less annoying when he didn’t have to argue with a new person each time. To him, the concept of teams was a little strange, as he normally preferred to stick to his own devices, but supposedly it did have some minor benefits to play that game, if nothing else. Eh, guess it wouldn’t really kill him, wouldn’t it now? Golden eyes would narrow at the pathways ahead of them as they moved forth. “There’s no way to be completely sure when dealing with living creatures that can make decisions of their own…” It was what made hunting a slightly tougher endeavor. An item wasn’t going to move from its spot, so all that had to be done was to locate it. Creatures however were a different cup of tea. A map was an indicator, and vaguely helpful to an extent, but it surely couldn’t account for all the possibilities.
He’d sigh, feeling a bit annoyed at this. It was not a serious issue for him as much as it could be, but that still didn’t mean he was overjoyed by the idea of being hauled off to do jobs during the full moon, and chasing wolves no less. Was this supposed to be some form of joke that flew over his head? For all he knew, maybe it was, but then again, he wouldn’t be able to do anything about it regardless of what the truth was. “They could be using an area for different activities. Wolves may be predators, but not everything in their life is about hunting either.”, he’d frown as he squinted at the trees the passed by. “It’s also entirely possible that they sensed we’re here and are actively avoiding getting near. Frequent sighting spots aside, I’d guess the whole forest is their territory, so they would be on watch for intruders. Or they just didn’t choose those exact spots tonight for any other reason. It’s impossible to rely on a map for something like this…” Unless you were lucky and nothing went wrong at all, you weren’t noticed, and they were currently right where the map said they might be. What were the chances of that actually happening in reality? Quite low, he’d bet. He’d huff. “We might have to simply try and track them without relying on old map info.” Or they could also keep randomly walking around, until they caught something. He wasn’t sure how large this forest was though, so that could take a long while depending on what speed they traveled at. “This is such a pain.” |

Sharaku didn't have to argue with new people who were off put by how brash he could be and she didn't risk not being able to work with her partner because they happened to be a bigot or such, this team really was completely a win-win for the two of them. "I suppose so." occasionally the motives of other living beings could be incredibly difficult to decipher, she had doubly learned that when she met her own kind recently, they were like aliens to her because she didn't want to admit how alike the inside of her head was to the outside of them. "Why couldn't they send us to fetch some object or something?" at least objects didn't move from the last place they were sighted without help that was much easier to track than some roaming wolf pack. Of course, the talents of a Blood Devil and vampwere hybrid would likely be wasted on the simplest of missions.
Walking several steps behind his left side the little girl listened as Sharaku kept speaking, agreeing with her points in his own jaded way. "If they sensed us I'm not going to like tonight." Nyx wasn't exactly lazy but she didn't like to use her talents for violent reasonings like hunting, but it may end up that her one talent may be their best bet of tracking down these wolves short of luck. "Too bad wolves don't have possessions." she grumbled the comment, running her fingers across every tree they passed now hoping she would just get some random flash of anything that was not the same old story of the pack not being anywhere nearby. "We should definitely stop using the map." it wasn't doing them any good, and last she recalled the boy with her was one of the hunter class anyways, so he may be more suited than any map to finding those wolves, tracking down were they ran. "It would be less of a pain if they weren't animals that don't touch anything expect things that every other animal touches." she sighed, flapping her wings once as she jumped a few steps ahead, doing this every few moments to entertain herself. It was so boring to just walk around the forest with no sight of their goal.
"Hahaha!" suddenly she started laughing from behind him, between her hands a large ball of something very stretchy that she was manipulating in several different ways. Nyx had gotten so bored, that she was now making and dismantling several objects with her ghostly talent, the stretchy material suddenly becoming a puzzle cube. "Don't worry i'll try not to laugh again, I just needed to find something to do, it's so boring to do this so aimlessly." she made the comment as she slowly turned parts of the puzzle cube in her hands.

The Vamp Wolf | He’d shrug dismissively. “I’m sure they could have, but not everyone can do that. I think it would have been boring anyway. Being an archaeologist of some sort isn’t really what I’d consider a calling of mine.” Digging for hidden items was largely underwhelming in his opinion. Even if hunting could bring a lot of frustration when it was harder than expected, at least it was more rewarding in the end. Besides, despite his often cool and stoic attitude, he really wasn’t that much of a passive person, being what he was. Vampires are natural hunters, as they have to do it to get their food unless provided for, and werewolves were no different, being related to wild predator canines. As much as he liked to act more smart and detached, he was more suited for battle than he liked to show he was. After all, he was already often seen as a bit too intense, and probably rude when he didn’t even intend to be, and furthering that outlook by acting it too would not be of much help to him in day to day life.
“Eh, it wouldn’t be the best option, but as long as they are still within the forest, we’d catch up to them anyway.” Frankly, he didn’t think he was going to especially like tonight either, but that was more due to the circumstances of this whole job, rather than based on whether the wolves knew of them or not. He’d snort. “Arguably, it’s good for them to show behaviors that help them stay more hidden. Can’t blame the wild animal to want to ensure their own safety. It’s to be expected, as much as it provides obstacles for those wanting to find them. Still, it wouldn’t be called hunting if they came on a whistle, like loyal dogs.” Wouldn’t that be hilarious though? Maybe there was someone who could do that, but it might also just be wishful thinking.
Speaking of thinking, his would be interrupted rather abruptly, and he’d almost jump when she laughed out of nowhere. Was she trying to give him a heart attack here? It was enough that he was a little on edge as it was, both due to the annoyance of having to wander about, and the whole full moon crap. He was fine theoretically alright, but it did put him in a more pissy mood to an extent. Shaking his head, he’d pinch the bridge of his nose for a few moments. “Okay. I’ve got enough of this. If walking around doesn’t do it, it’s time for more active measures.” Hm. Choices though…”Since you’re so bored…how about you pick for me? What would you rather, a wolf or some bats?” He could make do with either option in the end. |

At one time? She would have thrived on the hunt, ran ahead eagerly and sprinted as if she was an unstoppable predator, it was what other Blood Devil's still did to be brutally honest. While somewhere deep inside her slept the hunter, the killer her kind existed as, and deeper yet slept the true nature of her soul, they were just too deep for her to benefit from them right now. So preoccupied with what others may want of her she never really stopped to see exactly what her own feelings were telling her that she wanted. Nyx could feel the urge to track, the desire to sink her hand into the chest of prey or sink her fangs into its neck, but she couldn't give in because she truly didn't understand the urges most of the time. Askel had left as little room as possible for the monster he feared to ever emerge from the young girl.
Hands working at the puzzle block to ease the itch she passed off as boredom due to knowing no other alternative for her feelings, her ears listened intently to the larger male as he spoke to her. At least talking eased the pain inside of her body some, boredom was so utterly painful she wanted to claw at her own arms just to see the blood for amusement. Honestly, opening wounds on herself didn't sound like a bad idea, the injuries she received at the devil compound were healed, skin clear again as if it had never been breached. "Eh, I wouldn't know about wild animals like that or loyal dogs, the most I was allowed to be around was rabbits that Askel got rid of if I grew upset, I wasn't allowed near predatory animals, predatory species or father's hunts. Clearly, two of those things have changed now though." she laughed slightly at the ideal, only a month ago she was not even so much as allowed near anything that could ever expose her to violent, and now she was surrounded by predatory species or at the least opportunistic species several of which had no trouble exposing her to fighting. "Maybe I'll visit a dog park or pet shop when we go back!" she giggled at the idea of doing something like that, it sounded fun since she had never got to experience something like that before.
"We're looking for wolves aren't we? I'd rather a wolf." she didn't quiet get why he was asking the question, but she still managed to give him a workable answer regardless of her lack of comprehension. "and of course I'm bored, what else could I be." there was absolutely no way she wanted to chase down the wolves they were after in a way that got her blood thundering through her veins. The fact her legs, arms and generally every single muscle in her body itched meant she had to simply be bored.

The Vamp Wolf | He’d give her a slightly odd look as she spoke about never having been around any animals before. That sounded arguably extreme in more ways than one, and even more so since based on her words, the person not letting her meet any was doing that himself in the first place? “So….why though? If this father of yours went on hunts, why would he want you to do the exact opposite? That doesn’t sound like a good family dynamic. Is it just because of what you are?” Even then, if you feared or hated a species so much you would keep them away from doing the very things that made them scary, why raise them to begin with? It made no logical sense, unless there was some sort of ulterior motive behind it at the very least. Personally, he wasn’t interested in being a dad, but if he ever had to be and chose to adopt, why would he pick a kid he was not okay with? He’d have to be out of his mind to make a ridiculous decision like that. “Right, dogs.”, he’d huff faintly. “Are you interested in pets now?” Or maybe just looking at them, but it was hard to tell from the singular statement she blurted out on the matter. “Yes, yes we are. There are always several methods to employ in doing so however. I suppose going against fire with more fire is the more obvious option of choice though.” Frankly, it’d hopefully work one way or another. Since they were in a wildland area, and during the dark he probably could have found himself some bats to use as trackers to help them locate the wolves, but a more direct approach of just chasing them down on their own turf was very much viable as well. He’d shrug. “I don’t know, I’m not you. Why be bored by this specifically though? Have you never done something more idle before?” Okay, that was partially a lie. He could find out her state of mind if he really wanted to, but he didn’t feel like using his powers to analyze his own partner right now. It wasn’t necessary unless she started acting too weird for some reason, and forced him to pay closer attention to that. “Anyway…”, pausing to stretch his arms briefly, he’d stay still in his spot for a moment to focus as he proceeded to turn into a large black wolf. A lot bigger than normally expected even, standing at 5 foot 10 on all fours, still much larger than the girl with him, despite being in an animal form. “To find a wolf, be a wolf?” |

Nyx had never once questioned why her father would never let her hunt even though he sometimes let her at base camp in an area he had deemed clear of any wildlife. When you were being raised by someone, an innocent child with not a single memory before that day? Than you tended to just listen, intuitively knowing it was just the safest option. Honestly, she had not even the slightest shadow of just how much her blind obedience had been key to her survival up until now. "He's a Mercenary Hunter, whatever that actually means if that changes anything." she didn't know exactly what a mercenary was, but Sharaku seemed to know enough about the world that it would give him context if the type of hunter was important at all. "I never really truly asked why." she was too young and by the time she was not the girl had been brainwashed beyond thinking to ask that question. "Far as I know, yeah, what I am is the reason for pretty much every rule I live by. Askel wanted to make sure I never risked hurting anyone or thing, and avoided fresh blood whenever I could." it was actually really weird that he had enrolled her into Eldritch Academy with all the rules he made her live by, and the longer it went on the less she believed it was some complex test. "He says the rules keep me pacified and I'd be a monster unfit for society without them." and there is was, without exactly meaning to she admit the true reason she practiced pacifism was Askel not her own personal choice.
As the conversation moved on she shrugged slightly, thinking about if she was actually interested in pets themselves or just the freedom of being able to own one if she asked Dawn about it first. "I dunno, really did like keeping the rabbits." they had been so soft and furry, perfect to give hugs to. "But I never had rabbits long, couldn't keep from raising my voice or generally acting with negativity." that may explain why she was always so darn joyful whenever she showed up, how she could laugh when apparently bored out of her mind. Learning to behave by having something she loved ripped away for good if she didn't stay exactly as someone asked her even if sometimes it was against her very nature, not the kindest method of conditioning someone. "I spent a lot of time alone, when I didn't have the rabbits." it was impossible to always have friends over after-all, and the biggest rule was that she was never allowed to go out without him. Sadly, she had to break the biggest rule because he never came back for her this time, he left her in the outside world.
"No I've been a lot more idle before, I used to spend all my time waiting for him to come home." she chuckled at that comment, leaning against one of the tree's while he spoke since they seemed to be staying in the same general area. She actually seemed a bit sad for once, now that she was speaking about Askel in more depth than she had mentioned him before. "YOU'RE A WEREVAMP!" she suddenly realized that the male was not just some ookami/vampire or dog demon/vampire, he was a werewolf and a vampire at the same time. "I'm sorry Sharaku, I shouldn't have shouted." she backed up into the tree her back flush against it actually feeling bad about that, it wasn't as if she disliked him for it or anything. "I mean I knew you're a hybrid and one of those was canine, but I didn't guess that it was a werecreature since- you've heard this all before." she stopped herself short sighing and laughing it off as she staggered herself away from the tree brushing off her now slightly scratchy wings. Nyx wasn't going to try to offend him.
He looked more powerful than he had been before, and the girl wondered if she would be able to keep up with him. "Do you run faster like this?" Nyx knew her fire talent came with an animal form, but she'd rather not if she could avoid it. Seeing her reflection in that body? Always felt so weird.

The Vamp Wolf | Did it? Honestly, he wasn’t sure. “A killer for hire then…? I don’t know. Sounds like he didn’t work for anyone specific though, so whatever his reasons were, they had to be of his own choosing.”, he’d shrug slightly. That was the most he could tell from that. It shed absolutely no light on the matter, as there was no one else to connect things to, if the person in question did hunts from whoever asked, just for the pay rather than having long term affiliations. “What do you think? It’s not like there aren’t others of your kind who manage in some way, I think.” Well, to be frank, he did not know a whole lot on that topic, but if they were all such unstoppable monsters simply by being the way they were, there’d be a lot more chaos happening than there appeared to be. It had to be possible for them to live alongside society in their own way, whatever it happened to be.
“Doesn’t everybody get angry at times? I would say it’s quite the stretch to expect someone to never be upset, especially when they’re younger. It doesn’t matter what you are, nobody is always happy, unless they are some unique species that are stuck like that. Not that I know any though….” He was furrowing his brows at this one. It didn’t make any sense. There was absolutely no way to make someone feel no negative emotions. Make them pretend not to? Yes, but what was the point of that? They still would feel it on the inside, and therefore the tendency to sooner or later act on it was present in the end anyway. Pretending never ended well, as far as he was aware. It was not genuine behavior, and would crack at some point, no matter how long it took.
Right, so she shouldn’t really be bored now then. For the moment though, he wasn’t interested enough in prodding about that. Somehow, he didn’t think she was going to offer him a better answer either way, and they had work to do so standing around for too long would only make this night drag on for that much longer than was necessary. With a half growl, he would shake his head, the fur around his neck ruffling slightly. “Life makes cruel choices sometimes….I guess it’s whatever. People usually react weirdly in some way, so it’s nothing new to me. I’m obviously not exactly normal, which makes that a fact.” He did sound kind of gruff about it despite the seemingly nonchalant attitude of his response, but it was doubtful he would want to elaborate on what was on his mind right there and then. He didn’t like talking about the detail if he didn’t have to, and in most cases he considered it to be nobody’s business in all fairness. Being out of the norm in some way almost always carried a bunch of cons to it as well, unfortunately. “Probably. Four legs tend to be better at that than two.” Huffing through his nose at that, he’d give her a sideways stare. “Why? Can’t you fly at a higher speed or something?” She was fairly small, so it sounded plausible enough despite the tree filled area? “If you’re really worried though, I could try to carry you, as much of a pain as that is…” He was big enough to pull that off without much issue, even if it was hardly his preferred way of doing things. |

She had never heard anyone word her father as being a killer before, and while Sharaku wasn't sure if x, y, or z made a different, hearing someone call her father a killer out loud did make a different to her. "A killer..." she had never once considered him any sort of killer, sure she knew what the definition of hunting was but there had been a disconnect between her knowledge and the way she saw the man who told her never to even kill a fly. Instantly switching to questioning the rules he given her or even why he gave such rules was not something she could do, and after being around her for the extended time that he had been, Sharaku likely knew that to some extent. While Nyx would eventually question why she refrained when all she thought about was seeing something dead? It wasn't going to happen today.
"NO!" that reaction was visible and she scampered back a few steps again, almost seeming to have some sort of asthma attack or something from how much her breathing picked up. "They're monsters!" indirectly she was calling herself one, no matter what she did short of some painful magic that would likely destroy the true her in the process, the girl would always be a Blood Devil no matter what. "I went to meet some. They greet each other by fighting to the death, the place was nothing but blood expect for the mess hall, and one even tried to kill Mr.Ozaki! Not to mention the fight I watched them have against ice wolves at the orca village, they don't manage not to be monsters, they just find a way to force other's to praise them for it!" she was shaking slightly, that trip had been educational but in the end it had been far from easy on her, everything that happened there could be deemed as stressful in some way. "Everything they see, it instantly turns into how it would look dead or how much blood they can get from it!" every single thought she fought to keep down in order to be a good day, and now he just wanted her to accept those ideals to manage in the way the rest of them did? How could anyone expect that of her. Yet, when she looked down at her hands, let the world drift away for a second the fear and distressed almost looked like remembering enjoyment as she momentarily saw blood on her hands again.
Looking at him she rubbed her tail between her fingers, causing some of the blood to leak out of the tip, catching her eye and soothing her for a moment. "Yeah, but if I get angry, it can land someone dead." Askel was always super hardline on the fact if it came down to it and she broke every other rule for some foreign reason, she was never allowed to kill something humanoid, something excessively intelligent. "And that's the one rule I must never break, I'm not his daughter anymore if I ever kill anyone, I'd be a monster that someone would need to put down, but my kind are immortals. Askel says I wouldn't stop unless someone killed me if I killed someone." someone saying that to their own child certainly confirmed Sharaku's theory of there possibly being another motive behind Askel's adoption and care of Nyx, but there was still so much of the picture missing. That night haunted the back of her mind, the midnight hour when Askel sat her down after she nearly killed a monster that attacked her and some friends at the park, told her that if she ever did it, he couldn't love her anymore. Of course, did he even love her now...
Smiling slightly coming out of her trembling she fully extended her wings to show that her wing span was much larger than she was. "I can fly really fast, but not in such constriction." and while she had other tricks, she wanted to keep up with him and run beside him as they did this. Why was she set on standing when she couldn't truly stand next to him, when she couldn't fight. "But I do have one other thing I can do." crouching down the female slowly morphed into a small twin tailed feline only about a foot tall, before flames extended on her body briefly causing her to grow to actually be taller than him, looking down at him from six feet tall. "I may stumble a bit and trip a few times due to inexperience in this body, but I should be able to keep up like this." this form was definitely that of a predator, sabered fangs evident and muscle tone that she clearly didn't yet know how to use. "Lets go, you lead!" she was shifting from paw to paw, clearly this was one of very few times she had used this form.

The Vamp Wolf | Cue in a rather ‘huh’ reaction when she suddenly snapped in response to his words. That was hardly what he expected to be hearing. While he was aware she had some sort of an issue with what her species were, he hadn’t though it was as extreme as this. Why though? He still didn’t quite understand what made her hate them so much. Yes, a lot of killing didn’t sound like a pleasant activity to be partaking in, but at the end of the day, he’d say it was to be expected. With so many races existing in this world? There was bound to be at least a few that were considered abnormal in the eyes of majority. Was it worth the emotional stress to hate them for their very existence however? Assuming that’s how they naturally were, it wasn’t exactly their fault that they were born the way they were. Hating someone for what they couldn’t control was a sad way to view things, and he knew that very well, considering he got his fair share of such treatment even if not for bloodshed reasons specifically. One could say that the reason why he was the type to not get hung up over what a person was, was because he was aware it wasn’t as simple as that in many cases. “So you saw a bunch of them fight a couple times…what do you know about them besides that to make such a harsh judgment though? Most people are born without the choice of being something else you know?”, he’d tilt his head inquisitively. “You may have been taught to despise killing and bloodshed personally, but should that mean someone else can’t live otherwise?” Of course, in some cases it could be labeled as wrong, but without knowing more detail, was it right to act like someone was the spawn of Satan just because they did things you did not like…?
Hmmmm. She really believed strange things, didn’t she? Someone was certainly good at being convincing, if she seriously never noticed how odd it was, even now that she was among others more than in the past. “I thought good parents were supposed to love their kids even if mistakes were made?” Theoretically speaking, as he couldn’t claim to have good experience with that either. He had always been too much of a natural individualist though, making it hard for people to convince him of what he didn’t want to believe. Do things to avoid a problem was something he could do, but that never meant he thought it was okay. Speculative questions aside, he’d give her a more serious look this time. “Say…if you believe that killing someone makes a person a monster, then I’m one too.” Not even apologetic for that claim either. Besides, he wanted to see what she thought of that, with all the fuss she was making around killing people and how bad it was to do so.
“….I didn’t know you were a cat.” She didn’t give that kind of a vibe. Golden eyes would narrow momentarily, but he would soon let that thought float as he locked his gaze on the rugged forest paths ahead of them. “Try not to become wolf bait.” Joke as it was, she was naturally more likely to get attacked than him like this, unless the wolves decided to wage territory wars on him which would be rather annoying if that’s indeed what they chose to do once they ended up face to face. “Let’s make this quick then.”, he’d declare in a deadpan before shifting to bound off through the tree gaps, half just trying to cover more distance than they could by leisurely walking, half trying to track down any of their targets as they went. It should hopefully only take a short amount of time with this method. |

Snapping was not exactly part of her personality, but someone could only take so much before it broke them and she'd taken things that no other Blood Devil had needed to endure. Peace was not in their nature, actually some of them admitted to the idea of not fighting being extremely painful and she just couldn't admit that she was just like them, desperate to draw blood unto her hands. The more she learned about the world around her, the more she learned about her kind, the harder it became to resist in the way she'd been trained to, the more she learned that what she had been taught was directly against herself even though she could never say it. Admitting that the other Blood Devil's weren't monsters but just doing what they were made to do, would mean admitting that sort of life was actually something she desired. "Everyone has a choice, they have to." Otherwise she'd end up just like those monsters one day, and no one would love her anymore. Only, the idea that no one would ever accept her like that, felt more wrong than anything else that Askel had ever taught her, as if somewhere just out of mind there was already someone who accepted her for that dark interior. Once again, she saw the face of that man white bone white hair and brilliant blue eyes.
Her ears pinned down when he mentioned good parents loving their kids no matter what they did, feeling for a second as if she already had experience with a parent disapproving of every breathe she took, even though Askel had never done so to her. Inside swelled the feelings of loving someone so much that she had been willing to abandon her name, even never see that person again, to keep them safe from the consequences of her life style only to be disowned. Only she couldn't recognize these emotions to begin with, much less that they came from the fact her mother had not been able to accept that her daughter was being her truest self while following a path wrought with blood. The man who made her call him father did everything possible to ensure that even if she did get feelings from her forgotten memories that she would never realize what they meant, every measure taken to prevent the beast from rising again. "This is the only way anyone can ever love me, otherwise I wouldn't have been an orphan in the first place. What does it say about who I was before conditioning?! That I can't remember. That even other Blood Devil's didn't want me!" it felt like stabbing herself in the heart to say and she hadn't even really meant to, hands flying up to cover mouth immediately after she spoke. At the end of the day, it came down to exactly that, she wasn't scared of the other Blood Devil's, to be frank she didn't even hate them, she was so heavily conditioned that she was scared of herself. Of course, why would she be scared of herself unless she wanted everything she claimed that she possessed no desire for.
"I'm not, this came with my talent not my species." she was speaking telepathically now, apparently she possibly couldn't speak using her vocal cords in this form. Anyway, Nyx didn't want to open her mouth again, she could end up saying something else like what she had just said before, that would be unacceptable. "Hey if I become wolf bait, they should come out quicker!" she chuckled the comment across her telepathy, starting to move in order to keep up with him, finding it easy to do so in this body even though she stumbled over the rough terrain occasionally having to sprint to catch up when she did so.

The Vamp Wolf | “To an extent maybe, but not for everything. Saying everyone can choose would be akin to claiming a vampire can decide to live as a vegetarian or something if they really really wanted to not eat blood, and actually manage to survive for long like that. They could wish all they want, but that’s clearly not happening, no matter how you look at it.” Life would be a lot easier if it was that simple to morph any and all parts of yourself to suit your own needs. A lot of traits were ones a person was unfortunately stuck with permanently since the moment they were born into the world. Negatives ones included, regardless of how hated they could be for what they represent from an outside perspective. Did it suck? Kind of, but you also can’t have diversity without hiccups like that existing within it. Uhhh. This was getting a little hard to respond to. On one hand, he didn’t want to spend an eternity arguing about this, but on the other it would leave a bit of a bitter taste to leave it be and not say anything as if he was agreeing with what was being said. Because he certainly wasn’t the way things stood right now. Letting out a sigh, he’d shake his head slightly. “It says….nothing? I mean, if you can’t remember, then you cannot know why it happened. Some kids get abandoned just because the parents didn’t want a kid in general, or other reasons unrelated to behavior. You might be reaching a bit far with that assumption without having any proof that you’re right about it.” It really didn’t say anything conclusive, not without any further information. There could be plenty reasons for why she ended up where she did, and missing memories made it virtually impossible to just guess on spot…. “Fire cat powers?” There was a hint of amusement in that one, as he opted to answer in the same manner. He was capable of telepathy as well, and it was technically useful to keep their location less obvious anyway. Besides, while he could speak in his wolf form, it was a notch harder, and made him sound a lot rougher than normal. “You wouldn’t say that while being wolf dinner.” Albeit, they were both probably more intimidating than anything else. He didn’t know a whole lot about this particular wolf species, but it was a safe bet to say that they’d likely be more closely resembling a typical wolf in size, which compared to them would be a good chunk smaller. Their trek would continue for a while longer, until it’d become apparent that they’ve found some sort of a trail at last. His patience with this hide and seek game starting to legitimately run out, he’d waste no time on hesitation, going right after the nearby target, soon tackling down a seemingly lone member of the wolf pack. Was this meant to be a safe way for the wolves to keep an eye on them? Perhaps so, but even then, the rest of the group couldn’t be that far away either at this point, even if they left one of them to watch out from a distance. The smaller, wild wolf would whine as it was being pinned to the ground, clearly somewhat frightened by its current predicament. “All we need to do is grab the flowers, right?” It’d be a waste to make this a bloodbath anyway, and all it would take is either holding them still for a while, or delivering a non-lethal knock out blow of some sort. Shouldn’t be hard unless they let themselves get ganged up on, and even then…these weren’t magical wolves anyway, were they? They shouldn’t be that strong compared to more complex beings. |

They could argue all they wanted about it, at least for the current day and ideals held by them it would bring the pair no where expect in circles with each other, Nyx could give it up easily as him. Although, she didn't want to stop, it had been so close to a legit argument of sorts, a verbal fight, a fight, no she definitely wanted to stop cold, she didn't fight even verbally. The cost of partaking in any battle as an aggressor would just never be worth it.
"Yeah we only need the flowers. Do you think this will be enough?" She morphed into her smaller form swiftly moving to start plucking flowers carefully from the wolf that Sharaku was holding down without causing it serious damage considering the species was almost endangered. "If this isn't enough, getting the rest will be easier." she sent the message as she carried a few flowers away from where any scuffle could take place between the two wolves, darting back in for more of the moonflowers. "Now that we have some flowers, which grew on this wolf, if we let him go and he runs back to the pack I can locate them precisely." it was her second talent and how she often found her way home. Nyx had to wonder why she could not longer use it to find Askel when it had used to work for her to locate her father and still worked otherwise.

The Vamp Wolf | He had nothing against arguments generally speaking, hell he’d even welcome them in many cases, as they could turn out to be interesting depending on how the person reacted. Alas, the circumstances were against it in this case, and as much as he was all for a good debate on a complex matter, he also wanted to get this job done smoothly enough. One of the two had to be on the losing side, and it was obvious enough which was the better choice here.
“More’s always better than less. They can’t complain if we bring a few more than needed.” It would be simpler to call it quits here and not risk a more dangerous encounter with the whole pack, but there were only so many flowers that could be found on one wolf alone, so the logical answer was probably that catching at least one more of them would be beneficial. “They’re not far from here, I can tell that much.” Finding them ought to not be hard anymore, even if Nyx didn’t use any extra powers to track this one’s movements. Regardless, he’d let go of the trapped canine once she was done taking the flowers.
At first, the wolf looked like it might attempt to attack after it quickly scurried back onto its feet, teeth bared in a threatening gesture. Once it took a few more seconds to assess the situation though, the decision to battle an opponent clearly larger and more powerful probably did not register as very welcoming, and with a faint growl thrown their way, the wolf would indeed opt to turn and make for an escape. “This really feels like playing a game of cat and mouse.”, he’d sigh faintly. What else was there to expect though? They weren’t going after anything huge, very intelligent and powerful…not compared to the given standards, at the very least. |

Luckily for the two of them, Nyx didn't really ever think of winning since she hadn't been allowed to play such games to begin with, so the argument was plenty over, no thoughts of reviving it for sport in her head. "Yeah, they might not be far but it's still a good idea for me to pinpoint them properly." as he spoke and got into the process of letting the pinned wolf up Nyx materialized a small bag placing the flowers into it but keeping a single bloom out of the bag she slung around her neck. Prior to recently she had not considered it, but her physic powers actually were incredibly useful as supportive abilities, she didn't have to use them violently unlike her flames.
"Lets wait until they'll have calmed down some, than I can take us right to them. You can make sure we're downwind on final approach so you can pin one again while I roar and hope it makes the rest scatter?" she was shockingly good at strategy for someone who didn't want to fight ever. Of course, that was just one of the numerous things that she couldn't see made no sense for a pacifist to be able to do so easily as if they were merely breathing. Oh well, it would only be a matter of time before eventually something would force her to admit that something about her didn't quiet make sense.
Listening to him describe the hunt as some sort of cat and mouse game was ironic and brought a small laugh since she currently looked like she was some cat. "Yeah, but you do know sometimes the mouse makes it and the cat goes hungry right?" she giggled slightly, slowly morphing back down her appearance and picking up the flower she'd left on the ground, holding it between cupped hands with closed eyes. While she stood there holding the bloom? I became to glow softly for a few seconds before her eyes opened and she smiled. "Got them, I can take a look if you want but you have to promise to protect my body." she could indeed place it on some piece of paper but she didn't have any on her and generating items was beginning to tire her, so she'd have to project and go ghost to see what the wolf current location looked like.
