♦ CHARACTER INFORMATION ♦
Name: Erika Nightshade
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Occupation: Professor: World History
Mastery: Scholar
Height: 5’ 7”
Appearance:
Personality:
Erika’s defining trait is that of arrogance, in fact it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to state the concept of arrogance itself is jealous of Erika’s attitude. Egotistical bravado flows freely from Erika’s lips like a stream to the ocean, and to not humor her words is akin to suicide. Her attitude doesn’t change easily, and any minor victories one may achieve in an argument with her will never be forgotten nor forgiven, she’ll get revenge against you even it takes decades. This isn’t to say she always thinks about vindication to satisfy her ego, but rather she is always ready to exact what is hers should an opportunity arise. Naturally this attitude only takes center stage when Erika is in a relaxed environment, otherwise she wouldn’t have gotten the job she currently has now. Erika’s professional demeanor is calm and collected, never letting the petty things get to her, much like she would if she was being arrogant at the time. Many who know her from only the arrogant encounters find it disturbing how easily she can become a professional in attitude, to the point where many have questioned if she is just putting all of her attitudes on as an act and her real personality is completely different from her arrogant or serious business side.
They would be correct in their assumptions. In reality, Erika is far from the fool and she uses her arrogant persona as a defense mechanism to prevent others from getting too close to her and exposing her more fragile self. Only a few in the past have ever gotten close enough to her to peel her acting layers away and get to know the real Erika. A vulnerable girl deep down, Erika has wished to be the big hero, the one who helps others and who doesn’t need a thanks in return, but for too long in her youth she tainted her hands with violence to truly become that vision of herself. Instead Erika uses her talent as an actress to good use, helping others while they hate her at the same time, since she doesn’t view, she deserves any of the credit they would otherwise give her. More of a vigilante in her methods, Erika’s real personality is without much mercy for those who are wicked in their desires and have pasted the point of no return. She teetered on the edge of that line and were it not for her significant other she would have fallen beyond return, so while those on the brink may find some mercy in her eyes, those beyond the point of no return are met with none. Remorse is reserved only for her past actions and her mind calculates only the outcome that will be beneficial both throughout the means and in the end. A sharp wit combines with a drive to succeed to form the core of Erika’s being, making her a deadly opponent for those who were like her, and for those who think they can easily manipulate and control others.
History:
Erika was born in a place which would become her home for seventeen years. Born underground in a large lab facility, Erika was raised by her father who had been abandoned by her mother, all alone. In her early years the world was joyful, and her father was happy, but as the years went on his demeanor turned cruel. The bitterness of his wife leaving and taking with her one of his children was too much to handle, and even with all of his knowledge, his obsession became to “free” the two of them. This obsession leads him to conducting immoral experiments and Erika learning that the world was cruel, people were weak, taken, and disposed of. She believed to survive one had to be strong, and to find their place in the world, to not show any form of weakness mentally or physically. Unfortunately, Erika had many physical weaknesses, but she didn’t have them mentally, so she took to changing into others shapes to boost her own physical capabilities. Eventually, after growing stronger with her own abilities and her fathers’ attitude and morals becoming so degraded, she couldn’t stand it anymore Erika fled from her home, the place she had known for her entire life, and made it out into the world. In the process she tried to release a few of the captives as well, but they all ended up scattered, and one whom she had called a friend was lost as well. Alone, and tired Erika ended up stumbling for a while till she met another soul who took her in.
Erika’s parents were more logical, numerical, and designation driven. Erika has thusly been referred to as Erika to make this history easier to read, but her real name isn’t Erika but Omega as she was the second born, the first being Alpha. Beginning and end. The reason for the name Erika is because the soul that took her was named Erika, and she was one of the few people Erika has ever shown true respect for. Mentor and surrogate parental figure, Erika was fair but harsh. This Erika mentored Omega in the ways of the world, though Omega didn’t take much of it to heart at the time, instead she took most of her teaching of another “talent” to heart, giving her a skill that would prove irreplaceable in the days to come. After almost a year Omega was to find that Erika had been killed, justice for past crimes that she had committed. Already morally questionable Omega found the death of her mentor hard to just accept, despite Omega being able to clearly see Erika had wandered into it of her own accord. Taking her form Omega struck against those who killed her and ended each of their lives sequentially. Taking the name of the only person she had thus respected Erika moved on to her future.
What a future it was, sadly it wasn’t a very good one for many others. Erika used her innate abilities to manipulate and control others. She seeded herself in nearly every major government of her previous universe, watching and waiting for an opportunity to find where she fit into the world, and how she could bring it to serve her needs as no one else mattered. To this regard she had many partners, some a bit more special than others, and proceeded to conquer and excel in anything she did, mostly due to stolen knowledge and skills. It was during this time she developed her signature arrogance as a defense mechanism to prevent others from knowing any of her true intentions or insecurities, and none of her partners ever found her true personality or desires, only fed off it and encouraged her. Eventually all her adventures lead her to a war over trinkets she found worthless compared to the political climate. Little did she know that this war would lead to a very fateful encounter for the young dragon.
Erika took to the field of battle for the first time in a long while, if only to maintain appearances. As Erika wandered the warzone attempting to toy with someone worth her attention, she came across a young clueless warrior on the battlefield. The young warrior was named Astrid, a young woman with no real, noticeable at the time, temperament for battle. Erika didn’t care about her combat abilities, though she did have abilities which worked against her nature as a dragon, no Erika cared about her relations to a more high-ranking member of society. Cornering the girl into a one on battle Erika managed to capture her and take her away to one of her previously established lairs, and thankfully the battle concluded shortly after so Erika didn’t even have to stick around.
Back at her lair Astrid awoke to find Erika making a deal with her, you see the young girl was mostly deaf and with her ability to alter reality Erika could cure that affliction, all Astrid had to do was get herself killed by her “mother” when Erika wished. Initially Astrid refused this offer, but when Erika proved she could do it, and could also bring Astrid back to life after she was killed, Astrid’s will collapsed and she gave into Erika’s demands. In one swift action Erika claimed responsibility for the death of a high-ranking member of society and drove a potential enemy into depression as she was tricked into killing her “daughter” Astrid. Erika was in a prime position to strike against the world and was at the height of her perceived power.
Her perceived power was shattered when her father struck against her, crushing her so intensely that Erika was flung from her lair to a village below, memories lost almost completely. An old man in the village discovered her and nursed Erika back to health. Without of the hatred and desire to belong in her heart Erika decided to help him out in random ways she could. Only later would it come to be known to Erika that the kindly old man was Astrid’s grandfather. Eventually Erika recovered her memories and left his house, but she was changed from the experience, happier, but still she felt she couldn’t correct her course... and so she focused on her efforts once again to obtain more power and influence.
Power was all that Erika desired at this stage of her life, and she was getting it in spades, but something was still missing no matter how strong she got, especially after being showed kindness. Growing in strength to fight back against her father Erika attempted save one of the captives that she had befriended, but the created entity known as Sharp wouldn’t be swayed, and all her influence seemed worthless. Contemplating her position in the world Erika began to make foolish decisions such as escorting others and taking weird jobs. She ran into a few fun characters along the way and she ran into Astrid again and this time she tried to be a little more apologetic to see how it would go, but due to her past actions Astrid didn’t listen to any of it. Erika was left alone with all of her “success” and unsure about what to do, she had everything but felt empty as it didn’t result in her being fulfilled.
After sorting out some affairs Erika was invited to a mansion for a party in her honor, only when she arrived did, she realize it was a trap the entire time. She discovered this because it was obvious by the evil looking butler and the fact that Astrid was invited as well. Some force was trying to keep the two together but she couldn’t figure out what, maybe it was the role players or something, yeah might have been them they were weird and would think of a dinner party as a good plot device. Anyway, Erika and Astrid naturally didn’t get along so they went their separate ways, she going on a blood filled rage that made her feel “better” in a sense, and Erika being struck by some form of depression attack that caused great self-doubt and inability to try, something uncharacteristic of Erika on the surface, but on the inside it was all of her true feelings being used as weapons against her the entire time. Eventually the two met the one who had invited them, Sombra, in the basement of his manor where the two were tricked into fighting each other, Erika lost in pure thoughtless movements and Astrid overcome by inner rage. Due to her battling earlier and her anger clouding her judgement Erika hit Astrid with a powerful blow, causing Astrid to snap out of it, the flux of energy mixing with the trickery of Sombra to cause the entire space to become unstable. Through the instability Erika’s reality abilities were temporarily multiplied and Astrid was caught in the wave of their multiplication.
Temporarily reversing onto her, Erika’s ability to see memories was used against her as Astrid lived through key points in Erika’s childhood and early adult life. Astrid’s compassion manifested itself as she saw the being, she once feared and hated living a life filled with hardship and slow decent into madness and a longing to be long and be loved. Erika realized what was happening near the end and so charged up a reality blast towards Astrid, and Astrid being both kind and stupid was ready to meet her end, all the while Sombra laughed in the distance that his plan had worked. Sadly, for him it didn’t as Erika warped next to him and unleashed the blast at point blank range into his body. Scattered through thousands of dimensions Sombra was thought defeated, and with a new found understanding for each other Astrid carried the exhausted Erika back to civilization.
After this incident Erika decided that she had to do something to stabilize herself, her power never felt the same as if it had grown a consciousness of its own, and after a grueling ordeal of self-searching she managed to isolate the cause of disturbance in her heart, and purified it along with separating it from herself, creating a image of her consciousness in the flesh. Erika had no idea where that reflection went but it was eventually devoured into the current universe that she resides in, becoming a staple of the reality yet never taking full form, and would become an important catalyst for Erika later on in her story.
Joining the group that Astrid ran Erika wanted to get to know Astrid better so she thought what better way than a vacation! Erika got them one off planet for a few months and Astrid, completely willing by the way, came with Erika and they had a great time, with the exception that Erika was locked away by the scientists in an oddly out of character ambush, and the fiend Sombra was upon the planet they had arrived at. Thankfully for the two Astrid found Erika and they went to stop Sombra’s plans.
This would be the second most intense battle of Erika’s life, Sombra’s power was great and he had united creatures that didn’t exist in reality but outside of it. Erika’s powers weren’t enough to defeat them and Astrid would become Sombra’s servant for all eternity. This is when, at her lowest, Erika’s true potential with the powers her mentor had taught her unveiled themselves, and Erika met with her mentor for the last time and received the final lesson. Renewed in vigor Erika struck down the beasts with her newfound powers that defied time saved Astrid, and in her first real show of mercy, didn’t kill Sombra but rather scattered that which was dark and evil from him and she made it so he would reincarnate and hopefully make something good out of his life.
The two returned to the planet and then Astrid vanished, with Erika taking care of business as normal. It would be around four months since Astrid would return
Joy in Erika’s life wouldn’t last for long as the kind old man was killed in a raid. The group whom Astrid’s “mother” worked for were the ones who did the raid, and so this sent Astrid off into rage, attacking their group and destroying their main base. Such destruction left her vulnerable however as the true culprit captured and tortured Astrid, taking one of her eyes in the process. Eventually Erika made it to her location and took revenge against the assailant and “killed” them, along with saving Astrid and destroying the villains main base. Astrid in shame vanished and Erika was stuck grieving for the old man alone. In this alone time Erika unlocked the full range of her natural abilities and went to fight her father, only to see he was weakened and defeated by her mother, the true villain, the one her father had tried to hide her from no matter the cost. Now ready to battle against her Erika promised her father she would be okay and asked if maybe they could try and fix their relationship, her father agreed and the two reconciled slowly but surely. Eventually Erika found Astrid by the grave of her grandfather as Erika had been visiting nearly daily to deliver flowers and other offerings to the man who had shown her kindness. Int hat moment in front of his grave Erika confessed she had become attracted to Astrid, and the two kissed. They then attempted to be with each other a lot more, moving in together and living happily for around a year. During that Time Astrid reconciled with her “mother” and her family and joined the same group as her “mother”.
Sadly, not long after the group her “mother” belonged to disbanded due to mysterious circumstances and Astrid became depressed, feeling like she was a bad luck magnet. It wasn’t long after that she vanished without a trace and Erika felt depressed as she wasn’t strong enough to keep her safe. Erika didn’t have too long to worry as she was attacked by her sister and through a series of events fought her off using another’s help in both the future and present. Killing her Erika allowed her reincarnate as another entity merely because her heart had grown soft from Astrid’s influence.
Eventually the confrontation with her mother came and the battle was long and hard, neither side getting the advantage until her mother called upon the aid of the god she was worshipping, explaining how Erika was made shortly after her birth to become a vessel to the god in case her sister died, as the backup. Using this revelation to her advantage Erika was blasted and beaten till she couldn’t move anymore; her mothers plan a success and Erika’s body was possessed by the god… or so her mother thought. Using the sheer force of her willpower and desires to see those she had grown fond of once again, Erika took her body back from the god and subverted his power to her will, becoming the avatar of the god but not in the sense that her mother wished. Using her newfound power to crush her, Erika allowed the same opportunity she had gifted others, and using the gods power righted many of the wrongs her mother had done.
It wasn’t perfect however and the power was slowly corroding Erika’s weakened body. Her father arrived just in time to say his good byes as the power overwhelmed her physical form and Erika “reincarnated” along with the rest of her family… or so she thought. The bits of Erika that had been released into the current universe called to her fractured form and she didn’t reincarnate, instead she was born into the world, with her memories and body intact, a new energy flowing through her veins. Confused, Erika wandered the world gathering as much information and funds as she could before realizing she was trapped in a realm not her own. Erika looked for the biggest organization in the current land she found herself in, that place being the Eldritch Academy, and after forging some documents and getting a bit more knowledge applied to be a “history” professor so it wouldn’t look strange when she did research for her own methods, that and she could easily learn how to use the newfound energy she found within, as many of her non birth abilities were weakened in her current state.
Currently she’s been in this universe for two years according to its time. She enjoys the modern conveniences of this new world, but she still has a longing for home and finding her way back, and is why she became a history teacher, so researching the world wouldn’t appear abnormal, and it’s low profile enough to avoid prying eyes beyond those of her immediate ‘co-workers’.

As for their culture each angel is naturally allied with the religion that they were blessed as, while angels can act in moral gray ways there is no consequence for them acting evil or dark while they are alive. That being said once their soul passes on there is no telling the revenge that the greater beings of the angel’s religion will reap.
Culture/Origin of Species (Time Lord): Time Lords are a type of alien species hailing from their home planet of Gallifrey. They were the first to gain the knowledge of time and how it works, building off of it to create an empire and the technology to tame it. While inherently being pacifists they are not afraid to start wars in order to keep time balanced. Young Time Lords, once they meet a certain age of incubation in the nurseries, enter either the Academy or the Army. The ones that enter the army are known as Time Patrollers, tasked with accepting missions from the council and ensuring the safety of the Time Vortex.
