Someone could easily swear the young teenager lived in the library considering the sheer number of times that this was were someone encountered her. Luckily, that was far from the truth. Lavender simply enjoyed being surrounded on all sides by books even when she was not obsessively researching the pendant that hung around her neck. Currently it was nearly a full week since Miss Slitherstone had first met the young human and in spite of the disagreement back than it didn't much affect the girls opinion of the teacher. Of course it wouldn't, she was always too preoccupied with her necklace to really hold any grudges that could eventually get in the way of her goal.
Being as it was around noon and most classes had let out for lunch, the library was much more busy than normal leading to it also being louder than average. With all that ruckus? Lavender had needed to retreat unto the smaller second floor of the expansive room just to be able to continue focusing. "Can't they socialize somewhere else?" her voice grumbled it out slightly, hearing the students who came into the library lying over their purpose for being here just so they could hear their noisy chatter over the rambunctious chatter around the rest of the school. "It's like they never realize that they're inconveniencing people who actually want to use the place for it's intended purpose" with this sigh she stopped recoding some notes on cursed jewelry into a notebook and gripped the side of her head.

Though she'd never directly said anything to Lavender herself, Manya's interest in the girl's predicament and the pendant which could not be removed sparked some curiosity in the teacher. The classroom was empty in light of the current lunch-break so Manya took the opportunity to look through some additional sections of the book she'd borrowed from the library. She'd been doing a lot of this lately, mostly out of self motivated interest but this one was slightly different to the regular. She'd opted to search through more vague texts after the student mentioned how irremovable her pendant was. She suspected Lavender hadn't yet done this sort of research and thus began secretly trying to find answers that might help point Lavender in the right direction.
The tomb she'd picked up this time was littered with Manya's own bookmarks. "Enchantments: Curses & Cursed Items" It was another of the volume series Lavender had been looking at but unlike the others this one wasn't labeled with a number. In fact identifying the book as part of the series was a bit tricky unless one actually read its contents as it made references to the other volumes within its pages. "Here it is!" Manya whispered to herself in excitement. "While the aim of most curses is to cause harm upon another some are less than violent in their nature, proving instead to be useful to the one they afflict." Useful curse... Manya tilted her head at the notion. Whoever the author of this book was they were clearly of a different mindset than most of the modern world... But despite her disagreement with the writing Manya continued reading. "Binding curses can be used both offensively and defensively but they have a third application as well which is made manifest when the Curse is instead laid upon an item of value. An item enchanted with this curse binds itself to the first person to don the item whereupon the enchanted item then can no longer be removed from the afflicted's person by any means." Interesting. Manya slapped a red bookmark into the page, flipping to another section. "Enchanted curses cannot be removed from an item once imbued, however there do exist a means in which one may temporarily suppress the binding nature of an enchanted curse... (See Countermagic Spells: Volume 4)" Manya sighed in defeat... so it detailed the what but... the means for helping Lavender was likely in an entirely different book after all... But at least this information could be useful. If lavender's pendant were actually cursed then it fully explained why it couldn't just be removed. Marking this page as well Manya lowered the mask over face and made her way to the library. She'd noticed Lavender there quite often lately during the lunch break and not just after school. Perhaps she could pass on this book and what information she'd found to the girl to aid in her search for answers.

The library was not Lauren's scene. In fact, he couldn't recall a time he had stepped foot in the library for any reason beyond looking for his brother. As such, he didn't exactly know his way around. He had wound up on the second floor looking for a book on plants. He had come across books on everything from enchantments to combat techniques, the latter he decided to check out later. With no clue where he was or where he was supposed to look, he decided to ask someone else.
Lavender was the first person he came across. While he'd never met her before, she didn't seem open to interaction. Still, having seen no one else, he approached. "Hello? I'm sorry to disturb you, but I'm a little lost."

A masculine voice interrupted her causing her to forcibly have to peel her gaze away from the dozens of books sprawled out on the table she was working at. What could someone possibly want with someone like her at this time of day? She didn't help any peers study until right after school and she'd already completed her classwork for the day, she was no slacker after-all. Lost, oh that made sense, anyone would need to ask for help in that case. Sighing, the girl leaned back against the table slightly rubbing her pendant between two fingers. "I'm Lavender. What or where are you looking for?" the young teenager asked the question as she closed one of her books with a small frown knowing she would be unable to keep reading until she helped with other student. Luckily, she bore a smile quickly enough not one for being overly rude even if she was already discontent today due to the people using the library as social hour.
