It was finally time. Why it had taken her so long was a mystery, but today was the day she moved into her dorm and met her roommate. For someone moving in somewhere, she wasn't heavily laden with luggage. Most new residents would have carts full of necessities for dorm life. Several rolling suitcases would be rattling along behind them, adding to the cacophony. The strained groans and nervous giggles would echo in the halls until a door creaked open, leaving two strangers to divide the space and declare territories and make demands for privacy. None of these things described the brunette that nearly skipped toward her destination, footfalls muffled by the lovely blue rug. In her hand was a tin lunch box with cute skull designs drawn all over it and accented with heart stickers. This served as her lone suitcase, and it rattled only very slightly as the shrunken contents bumped into each other.
Coming to her room, she knocked on the door and waited. Nothing happened. The registrar had told her she had a roommate, so Adrisse waited a few more moments to give whoever it was a chance to get to the door. As time dragged on, she knocked again and gave it a few more moments before her impatience took over. Perhaps the person wasn't home. Maybe they were out to eat or in class, or even at work. That seemed highly plausible. With a half shrug matching a half smile, the girl inserted her key into the lock and turned, letting herself into the living quarters she'd call home for at least this school year. If things worked out, perhaps she'd stay until she graduated university.
Once she stepped inside, her senses were assaulted. The living room and kitchen were clogged with debris. Pizza boxes, cups, textbooks, bits and pieces of who-knows-what. Her hazel eyes blinked a few times, already smelling a boy at fault here. Moving to one of the doors she assumed would lead her to a bedroom, her hand hesitantly pushed it open only to meet more horrendous boy smells. Laundry! It was piled everywhere! On her bed, on the floor....it was like a laundry bomb went off. Perhaps this wasn't her room, and was her roommates. Where he slept she didn't know, but it was her only hope. Retreating back into the living room, she tried the door next door and prayed for an empty slate of a room...but she didn't get it. Instead, she found a familiar face! Gasping, Adrisse wasn't sure whether to laugh or start screaming for a plethora of reasons.

Cmon... Cmon... Just a little more.
This was finally it. Everything had come down to this point. Kaiden had been training for this day his entire life. Every breath he took, and step he walked, every single action and choice he had ever made had led to this one singular point in time... And it was the most important event of his life. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he stared ahead with wide eyes. The darkness that haunted him his entire life was fast approaching. Ever since he saw it 10 years ago, he had vowed to vanquish it for what it did to his family. This evil was like nothing of this world. And he was so close to destroying it for good. Saving this planet from eternal darkness and ruin, avenging all the ones he had lost over the years. It was finally within his grasp! He just needed to hold out a little longer against the monster. Nothing was more important in his life than this. THIS WAS WHAT HE WAS MEANT TO DO!
Someone called his name!
The jumpscare caused him to leap up slightly in his seat, the boy's heart nearly bursting from his chest as his finger slipped and he accidentally let go of the joy stick...
GAME OVER...
Kaiden stared at Adrisse straight in the eyes, his own wide with dark bags hanging under them. He was breathing rather heavily before he finally registered what was happening and his breathing stopped completely. What followed was a long moment of silence before Kaiden's face flushed red and he instantly remembered the face looking at him. Wh- What was she doing here...?
Oh yeah... He was supposed to get a new roomate today... WHoopsie.
"U- Uh..." Were the only sounds that came out of the boy's mouth as he leaned a little too far back in his chair, causing the entire thing to tip and fall over! Kaiden fumbled to the ground. It was obvious to him now that he was only wearing his long boxer shorts and a white tank top shirt in the presence of a lady. How much worse could things get!
Kaiden continued to stutter as he tried to lift himself up off the ground, the dark room only illuminated by the light of the door Adrisse was standing in, and the large red words on the massive screen behind the boy. "H- Heeeeeeeey Adrisse." Kaiden stumbled to get up again and regain his balance, trying to stand straight. That was a mistake. He hadn't stood up in at least 12 hours... And now he was feeling the effects as his head began to spin.
"I uh... I haven't uh.. W- Where did you c- come from?"
