welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

It had been a good while since Inglisse had enjoyed tea out in the courtyard. She had become so wrapped up in her new research that she had forgotten the importance of making time for herself. While she both enjoyed and was dedicated to her work, she was well aware that it was unhealthy to do nothing but that. Thus, she forced herself to take a step back and enjoy some tea out in the school courtyard. Instead of mulberry tea, the girl went back to sipping on rosebud tea, one of her favorites.
Almost two weeks had passed since Fang escaped from her old research laboratory. Almost two weeks since she had been infected with vampirism. To curb the cravings, Inglisse would drop special blood tablets meant for vampires into her own tea cup. While they were not a substitute for drinking blood, they did the trick in curbing the thirst for a short while. She still admonished herself for having slipped up with her phoenix research. She had been careless, not checking on Fang enough to realize that he was part vampire. He had done well in hiding the signs from her, unsurprisingly. Birds were good at hiding things, especially sicknesses or their own traits.
There was more to it than just that that had caused her to slip up so easily, but she dared not think about it during her free time. Instead, she would save those thoughts for when they could drive her work when she was done with afternoon tea. As usual, Inglisse had saucers with colorful teacups at each place on the table, in case of guests joining her.

The student, rather than hurrying along to any sort of class or rushing to one place or another, was just taking a casual stroll around the courtyard, enjoying the weather. It was sunny, and though there were a few clouds in the sky, the day was nice and warm. Perfect for relaxing and taking some time to shed the nerves that school usually brought her. She was usually studying or doing some sort of schoolwork, but today she was determined to take it easy. Having one or two days off to do nothing except relax wouldn't hurt her grades. She wasn't holding a textbook, but she was holding a library book in her hands. Reading in the sunshine was always a way for her to calm her nerves.
There was a small smile on Ryse's face, and as she looked around, she noticed that someone was sitting at a table by herself. It looked a little lonely there, so the girl walked over to her. "Hi! Sorry for bothering you, but do you mind if I sit here?" The woman looked like she could use some company, and she thought chatting with her would be a nice change from her usual activities.
On closer observation, she noticed that there were already several saucers laid out. Was the woman expecting other people? Was she intruding on a meeting that had previously been arranged? Had she made a mistake in asking to join her?

Just as expected, someone approached with intentions of sitting at her table. Placing her teacup back on her saucer ever so gently, amber eyes gazed up at the woman who had just spoken. Inglisse recognized her instantly as the church grim phoenix hybrid that her summon, Oras, had befriended. He helped her get over her self esteem issues regarding her race, or so Inglisse had noted that night when discovering the two in the Sage dorm at night. Still, she kept the recognition out of her eyes. This person was certainly interesting and someone the researcher wanted to keep note of.
“I don’t mind at all,” Inglisse said with a warm, friendly smile on her face. “I usually set out extra tea cups and saucers in case people want to join me or just relax with a cup of tea,” she continued, gesturing towards the filigree-painted cups. They were obviously from a set, with the magically-heated teapot in the middle of the table decorated similarly. “Speaking of, would you like a cup of tea? I only have rosebud tea with me at the moment, and I understand if you don’t fancy that.”
Usually she had little delicacies and snacks with her as well, but lately had been unable to stomach much after the recent accident at her old lab. Thus, tea alone would do the trick for her.

The teenager smiled a little. Oh good, she didn't mind. At least she wasn't interrupting anything. "I would like some, thank you." She replied as she took a seat in one of the empty chairs and put the library book in her hands on the table off to the side. Reaching out with her now empty hands, she picked up the porcelain cup gently. She scented the tea for a moment before sipping it. The seventeen-year-old liked tea, as did her mother. Her favorite was peppermint tea, out of all of them.
"I'm Ryse. It's nice to meet you." She said as she continued to sip the tea. "Are you a student here?" It was either that, or the woman was a faculty member. Maybe a teacher, though she looked rather young to be a teacher. But then again, looks could be deceiving. Ryse herself knew a vampire who looked like he was thirteen and yet was twice as old as that. And an Atronach that was hundreds of years old and yet looked twenty something.
If the other was a student, was she taking time to relax from her classes as well? Ryse didn't see any sort of books or whatnot with her, so it was possible. The weather was nice; not too hot, not too cold, and the sun was out. Who wouldn't want to just take a break?
