welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Cyn listened to Ozaki's apology but dismissed it almost entirely. In fact, it made her even more angry about the situation that he tried to comfort her for the crimes his kind had committed against her and her late son. Like he had any right. Normally Cyn wouldn't hesitate to let Ozaki know exactly what she thought about his feeble attempt to sympathize with her, but figured it probably wouldn't be a good idea to piss off this kid too much. After all, he was offering to help her out, and Cyn knew if she ever wanted to exact revenge on these people she'd need to keep a more likable persona up if she hoped to gain anyone's trust. Ridiculing the vampire for his attempts to comfort her wouldn't be a good idea. Instead, Cyn opted to not say anything at all in response, but she couldn't help but darken her gaze at him a little when he finished.
"Ah I see... Incantations. Interesting." Cyn said somewhat more to herself than Ozaki as she leaned down slowly and touched the pad. Its surface felt odd on her new scaleless skin. After a few seconds she'd look back up and stand straight again, shifting the large wing that wasn't broken on her back. This action instantly got some attention from the people surrounding the two as most had never seen her kind before. As soon as Cyn caught them staring she'd respond with a venomous glare and they were quick to go back about their business. "Well then little vampire, you'll have to tell me more about these 'spells' and 'magic' your kind seem to love so much... Especially yours." She said in a somewhat alluring voice as she turned her head and looked at him. "I'm very interested to know what kinds of abilities you are capable of." Cyn said as her tail slowly circled his feet. Cyn was testing the vampire to see if he was the secretive type or not. If he was willing to impart his knowledge, Cyn figured she could gain much from him.
"But first, I was promised food... We'll eat and talk."

She was asking about his talent. He felt slightly tense at her asking this question, and internally went over what she may have seen of it. Blood to pain killers, she could be thinking his talent could turn the blood within the darts into more things. He really didn’t want to get into too much detail as to what his talent was. Too often the reaction to finding out what his talent was was… A bit disappointing.
But odds were she could deduce a certain amount of what his talent was. And he didn’t want to be caught in a bald faced lie. And the fact she was flirting with him of all people was throwing his brain in a bit of a tizzy. Ozaki wasn’t particularly used to people showing interest in him in that way. “Well for other spells and magics I suppose I have a few books I could recommend for the cr- for the basics.” He almost said crash course. How crass. He could not go about saying that around a draconian that had an injured wing.
As for his talent. Yes. He could save that for the food time. “So did you want the food before your wing got treatment? Mmm… I don’t imagine you have insurance…” Ozaki flipped his phone out, shooting a quick texted to Olivia to check if she was free. She was more than willing to treat him off the clock… Her usual payment from him just involved baby sitting her kid. Finding someone both qualified and trust worthy to handle such a firecracker could be a hassle.
He wasn’t sure whether or not she’d be relieved or annoyed to treat someone else for once. “Sorry, I was texting an old friend of mine. She’s got a lot of medical expertise. More than used to patching up wings.” He’d summon his own bat wings briefly to exemplify such a fact. The membrane was relatively untouched, but there were a few scars and burns here and there along the skeletal digits of the wings themselves.
Olivia texted him back in asking, What have you done to yourself this time?
Ozaki snorted in laughter at that. Wasn't him this time.

Cyn eyed the vampire with a curious gaze within the next few moments. It was true what he was doing seemed to be very foreign to her. He said things that didn't make much sense to the dragon, and then proceeded to pull out some strange metal object from a pocket and press his fingers across it. The strange object lit up in response, and Cyn couldn't help but watch it from over his shoulder.
Ozaki asked if she preferred to eat before or after getting her wing fixed, and this prompted the woman to look over her shoulder at the mangled piece of leather and bone attached to her back for a moment. For now it felt numb, but Cyn knew that feeling could wear off at any given moment. While she was hungry, the state of her wing was probably more important. Besides, dragons could survive for long periods of time without eating. At least most could anyways. Cyn wasn't entirely sure if that trait carried over to this new body, but she would have to hope so. After all, the dragon did remember what the pain felt like before, she wouldn't want it to come back at any given moment to interrupt her meal.
"Probably safer to uh.. Get this fixed." She responded to Ozaki. He said he texted and old friend of his. The dragon wasn't exactly sure what "texting" mean, but figured it had something to do with the strange glowing metal object he had been using before.
"Right, well... I hope she knows how to fix this." She stated aloud before Ozaki showcased his own wings. Cyn was visibly surprised for a moment. She had known Ozaki was a vampire, yet she had no idea he was capable of summoning his very own wings. They were similar to her own, Cyn noted mentally. Although more bat like and a darker colour then that of the ones on her back. The kid seemed capable of summoning them at will as well, which intrigued the dragon even more. She wondered just how powerful Ozaki was with this eldritch energy the humans used so much.
"Huh, maybe I'll end up fitting in with you people after all." She said while staring at the vampire's wings. Of course she wasn't entirely sure if that statement was true or not, but she'd know soon enough.
"So uh... Lead the way I guess." Cyn said, carefully gazing at their surroundings.

Ozaki gave a small smile at hearing that she was feeling she might be able to fit in. She was still calling them you people, but it was maybe an improvement from before. He didn’t know whether or not she’d want to go back to living in the wild after her wings were fixed. But if she did decide to stay it would be important that she felt like she could actually belong in some way or another.
He called a taxi while they were on their way out of the building, being sure that the vechile in question had enough room for Cyn’s wings over the phone so that they wouldn’t have to deal with the hassle when it arrived. “Normally I just fly everywhere, so I don’t really bother with owning a car, but figured it’d be better to avoid jostling you any more than necessary.” he said as the taxi arrived.

Interestingly enough Ozaki claimed that he would normally just fly around himself, not needing a car. She looked visibly confused at his statements, but she could guess what he meant had something to do with the strange moving metal cocoons these mortals rode around in on the stone lines they built across the surface of her territory. How bothersome. Not only had Cyn been reduced to the shape and form of these lowly creatures but now she was expected to travel like one of them. She hissed at the thought as she watched the taxi pull up on the road beside them. She could admit though that it was quite interesting seeing the world from this point of view. The city looked so large. The buildings towered around her like giants like when she had flown above. Never had she been so close to them like this... She felt so small.
Cyn uncomfortably took a seat in the vehicle, forcing her wings to wrap around her body slightly just so they'd fit. A look of disdain on the draconian's face as she sat there, staring at the driver through the rear-view mirror with a cold gaze. If the size of her body wasn't annoying enough the fact that she was forced to fold her tail to make room and horns that scraped against the ceiling of the taxi was.
"Let's just get to where we're going..." She grunted awkwardly through pain and anger as her crooked wing strained in its current position.

Ozaki nodded, still keeping half an eye on Cyn as they went about the city and finally arrived at the place that Olivia had decided to meet them at. They had had to change where they were going in the middle of their trip because she’d decided it’d be better to sneak into her work place so as to have a more sterile environment.
When they got there she quickly asked Ozaki if he had given her anything, and he responded with a very medical sounding term. The exact type of sedative, down to the very miligram. “I went based on what I estimated her weight and height to be, couldn’t really be sure how much was safe to give her.”
“What species is she anyways?” Olivia asked.
“Draconian.”
“Which is…?”
“You don’t know?”
“Ozaki, not all of us spent our summer vacations buried in the library. Just tell me what is is so I can treat her properly.”
Ozaki grimaced, drawing his fingers through his hair. He had hoped that she might know what it was so that she could break the news to Cyn. She was… Hopefully better at breaking bad news with her experience as a doctor. It made sense she didn’t know what a draconian was. They were so very rare, and depending how they came about the differences between them could be great. But they all had one thing in common. Their end.
