A thread for self reference and for other people to reference various items I may bring up in threads. But there's no place to put items yet I think? So here's where I'm putting it for now.
Name of Item: Mana Crystals
Traits: List of traits for the species. These are inherent positive quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must also have 1 flaw.
• They can store pure magical energy, untainted and unbiased towards any particular energy. Anyone can tap into this energy without negative consequences.
• They have a vast storage capacity for energy.
•
•
Flaws: List of flaws for the species. These are inherent negative quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must have 1 flaw.
• When used in occult rituals the stone is either completely destroyed or its nature is changed. Mana crystals are a neutral power source, any changes to that corrupt it there after.
•
•
Name of Item: Rosite Mana Crystals
Traits: List of traits for the species. These are inherent positive quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must also have 1 flaw.
• They are useful certain occult rituals.
• They can be used as a lethal poison that takes ages to kill the person, so by the time they die it may be hard to actually trace it back to when they ingested it in the first place.
• On the day of the summer solstice they are triggered into a large growth spurt. This is usually fatal for their host.
• Highly resistant to magical tampering, as any magic directed at or near them will simply be absorbed by its vast holding capacity.
Flaws: List of flaws for the species. These are inherent negative quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must have 1 flaw.
• Those infected with Rosite mana crystals will find their talents delayed in appearing, as they will leech at the majority of a growing person's eldritch energy before it can manifest outside of the body.
• Being infected with Rosite mana crystals can be a terminal condition for the majority of species. Removal of the Rosite Mana crystals from a host can be difficult, as it may require a complete blood transfusion as well as removal of the infected organs with new ones put in their places.
•
Name of Item: Black Tourmaline
Traits: List of traits for the item. These are inherent positive quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must also have 1 flaw.
• This stone absorbed negative energies and emotions in the air, creating a more peaceful surrounding atmosphere.
• This stone can repel negative energies and psychic attacks.
•
•
Flaws: List of flaws for the item. These are inherent negative quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must have 1 flaw.
• This only takes ambient energies from the air, it does not remove the source of negative energy.
•
•
Name of Organization: The Church of Purity
Traits: List of traits for the species. These are inherent positive quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must also have 1 flaw.
• They do provide a genuine safe haven for humans who need it.
•
•
•
•
Flaws: List of flaws for the species. These are inherent negative quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must have 1 flaw.
• They have become corrupted from their original purpose of protection, and have become worse than the monsters they claim to protect their members from.
• No fully initiated member of The Church of Purity can be considered pure of heart, as in order to become a fully initiated member it requires a ritual sacrifice in which they steal the Spark of Divinity from the victim.
•
•
Name of God: Belaray
Traits: List of traits for the species. These are inherent positive quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must also have 1 flaw.
• She does truly mean well, she just put her faith in the wrong people... And now they use her name to brutally kill people and plant evidence that they deserved it. Keeping their hands looking allegedly clean.
•
Flaws: List of flaws for the species. These are inherent negative quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must have 1 flaw.
• As much as she wishes she could stamp them out of existence, she is bound to the oath of allegiance to protect them. Nowadays she does not do many active things to protect them... But as it is they don't really need the help of a god. Of course that does not mean they do not want the power of a goddess at their beck and call.
Name of Item: The Spark of the Divine
Traits: List of traits for the species. These are inherent positive quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must also have 1 flaw.
• This is traditionally associated with holy creatures, but most everything in creation has at least a small spark.
• This is the raw energy of pure life and creation.
• The Spark of the Divine is a part of the heart.
Flaws: List of flaws for the species. These are inherent negative quirks of the species that almost all members should have as a baseline. For every 2 traits a species must have 1 flaw.
• The animated dead do not have a spark of the divine, however, amusingly enough, undead do. They are still alive, in their own strange way.

Mana Crystals
Name of Item: Mana Crystals
{CLICK HERE for Appearance, Culture, and Origin}
Baseline Dimension: These crystals can grow anywhere from a few centimeters tall to a few feet tall.
Baseline Appearance: These crystals are of the purest, deepest blue that rival even sapphires.
Culture/Origin of Species: The culture of the species in general and/or their origins. Doesn’t have to be incredibly long, but this allows characters a back drop to know where they come from and gives great stepping stones for plot and backstory.
Mana crystals are extremely rare crystals made of- you guess it- pure mana. They only grow in places of extraordinary magic concretion. While the size they could grow to is theoretically unlimited, it takes thousands of years to even so much as reach a measly three feet in height. Over-harvesting of these crystals has made them harder and harder to find. And governments all over the world have tried putting restrictions on taking too many, to preserve the beautiful caverns these create.

Rosite Mana Crystals
Name of Item: Rosite Mana Crystals
{CLICK HERE for Appearance, Culture, and Origin}
Baseline Dimension: These crystals are more often found in powder form than solid crystal. Though when they are permitted the time and capacity to grow they can get up to sizes of one inch tall, and grow in larger clusters of five inches across. Usually they don't get larger than this, as they kill the host before they can grow to a larger size.
Baseline Appearance: They are blood red in coloration and are smaller than their pure counter parts.
Culture/Origin of Species: Rosite mana crystals are created when mana crystals are put into a living host. This alone is not enough, as a certain cocktail of ingredients are also required to actually provoke the mana crystal into a corrupted, parasitic state.
They are much easier to grow than regular mana crystals, as they do not need a purely magical environment. They only need a host with the capacity for magic within them. They grow faster than mana crystals, though are limited in how large they can grow due to at one point or another they will kill the host they have infected. They are more common than mana crystals given the easier factors to grow them in. But have gotten a taboo reputation due to some of the less reputable ways people have chosen to farm these.

The Church of Purity
Name of Organization: The Church of Purity
{CLICK HERE for Appearance, Culture, and Origin}
Baseline Dimension: They are average sized humans.
Baseline Appearance: All members of the Church of Purity are pure human. At the age of seven they are given tattoos, usually on their upper biceps, to mark the role they were born into of the church. For those whose family lines have been in the church for generations this is a marker of that. First generation members are given tattoos on the seventh year of their membership of the church. Only those within the highest positions of power know that these tattoos are more than just for show, but can actually be used for ritual purposes. Which rituals depend on which tattoos are given and what other materials are used in said ritual.
Different ranks wear certain uniforms to reflect their status in the church. Enforcers, preachers, the High Deacon, they can all be identified by the uniforms they were while on the job.
Culture/Origin of Species: This church was founded during a very terrible time in history. The country of Narva was having hard times with inhuman creatures that kept attacking their human citizens. They were desperate and needing help. A goddess named Belaray came to them in their time of need and swore to protect them if they swore their allegiance to her. Since then the Church has grown much more powerful than the cowering humans that founded them. They are a massive church with roots in major governments and police operations in multiple countries. They are near unstoppable in their pursuit of their warped sense of justice.
They took on the name Church of Purity as it started taking on more and more the shape of a cult. Only the fully initiated and those unfortunate enough to have been caught on the wrong side of them know the truly dark side of them. Any words of disparagement against them or revealing of their true nature are either quickly silenced or dismissed as slander.

Belaray
Name of God: Belaray
{CLICK HERE for Appearance, Culture, and Origin}
Baseline Dimension: The baseline height, width, weight, etc. Note that these should be the average for the species, and naturally characters could be + or – for these dimensions.
Baseline Appearance: Eye color, hair color, skin color, and other quirky features from wings, to scales, to fur etc. Note it might be good to put a variety of options so there is more freedom when creating a character.
Culture/Origin of Species: The culture of the species in general and/or their origins. Doesn’t have to be incredibly long, but this allows characters a back drop to know where they come from and gives great stepping stones for plot and backstory.
Long ago there was a human country under seige by a vast army. The humans were too weak to stop the onslaught, and were in danger of being wiped out. Belaray saw their plight and vowed to protect them if they pledged their loyalty to her. Through contracts they borrowed her power, and over the centuries they became stronger and stronger. To a point where even their god became horrified at what they had become. She had wished to protect humanity from the scary things out there... Yet they had become the very same things she had sworn to protect them from. They were a full blown human surpremist group, and rather than be passively defended, they became active aggressors against inhuman species.
Their god sees the creation of this Church as a mistake of her youth, one which she unfortunately cannot do much about as the higher echelons of the church now pretend they talk to her. Any genuine communications she sends out to her followers are dismissed as inhuman attempts at manipulating their pure human members. There have been multiple attempts to bring her down to earth in a human vessel that they can control. Most of which she has been able to successfully derail before they come to full completion. But they're getting cleverer at hiding their attempts, even from her. It may be only a matter of time before The Church of Purity has their goddess truly on a leash.

The Spark of the Divine
Name of Item: The Spark of the Divine
{CLICK HERE for Appearance, Culture, and Origin}
Baseline Dimension: It is formless.
Baseline Appearance: It cannot beheld by mere mortal eyes.
Culture/Origin of Species:
It is said that everything in creation is born with the Spark of the Divine. A core of pure creation and passion that fuels and drives you through life. Many think that this Spark of the Divine is from a holy being. Maybe it is, maybe it is not. But those that can draw upon this directly can be anything from masterful artists to potent holy mages. While it is possible to survive the Spark of the Divine being removed, things are considerably different and it forces a state akin to undeath. Baseline Dimension: It is formless.
