welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The Vamp Wolf | Right, well it wasn’t like he could use his powers without a target. He did have to be aware of the people he was manipulating to see illusions after all. There was no point in trying to do that while outside, unless they wanted to use it on themselves too. In any case, he’d shrug lightly. Nobody was there with them, right? So it wasn’t like standing outside the door was trouble, outside of them having to endure the not so pleasant environment for longer.
As for the inside, well, it honestly could be worse. They didn’t have blood and crap literally everywhere, and the little bits here and there weren’t going to bother him. The smell to an extent did, but it wasn’t impossible to handle. The one thing that was kind of impossible though was…what he assumed to be the receptionist of the place? No one else had reason to sit at the front desk like that. He’d frown, wanting to facepalm although he’d opt to not make himself look weird right away. “Well…there goes that…”, he’d mutter, a bit annoyed at the development. Even if the out of normal appearance wasn’t telling enough, making any kind of effort would make it obvious enough as to what kind of being this was. He doubted he could do much to those types whether he tried to or not. Well, maybe if they wanted it to happen, but why would anyone want to be mentally messed with on purpose?
Nevertheless, he’d choose to not react to the revelation much, taking a look around the area instead, before settling on the ‘picture’ by the desk. Were they supposed to ask something? He didn’t know how this place worked, so in this case he was fine letting the vampire to try handling the talk. The guy had been here before, right? |

As Ozaki started walking towards the desk the nightmare looked up from their magazine. Their form shifted into that of a large red question mark. “Hello thereee. Are yuh here for business or pleasure?”
The first time Ozaki had been here his response had actually factually been no to that. “We just need a room. Small one will do fine.” He was keeping it short as possible. He did try to keep his biases and assumptions towards Dreamweavers in check while around them… But this was kind of exactly the kind of place where you should keep those in mind.
The question mark did a flip and landed on two feet, having transformed themselves into a six foot five tall man in his fifties with blood red hair interspersed with grey and emerald green eyes. Despite his age he was bulked up considerably. A silver sword- or at least the appearance of one- was strapped to the Dreamweaver’s hip. They typed a few things into the computer.
Ozaki, meanwhile, had had a moment of flinching upon the Dreamweaver shifting their form into Yuuto, but did his best not to react further than that. Dreamweavers were able to reach into one’s mind and pull out people’s fears like a rabbit from a hat. It was just a trick… Until you reacted massively to it. This was just a trick. It wasn’t the real Yuuto… He had to ignore the fear and anger for now. This wasn’t real, there was no point in mulling over it or freaking out.
“Aito mate. That’ll be 140 between the two of yuh. Unless you just wanna pay by the hour. Jis’ 20 an hour each between the two of yall. However long you need.” The Dreamweaver winked between the two of them.
As familiar as Sharaku thought Ozaki might be with this place… He didn’t frequent it nearly as much as the other thought. It had been many many years. “Aaaah…” Ozaki rubbed the back of his hair, looking back at Sharaku.

The Vamp Wolf | Well, unlike the vampire, he didn’t really think anything. While Dreamweavers were strange beings for sure, he didn’t have any strong opinions on them. They were just…there. Their shifting abilities could be beyond annoying in certain situations, but at the same time, could you bar someone from using their powers? Not exactly. That said, he didn’t care otherwise, unless they decided to be a massive bother to him, which could arguably be said of anyone, regardless of what species they were.
That said, he’d watch with a flat expression at first, his gaze flickering between the two. He couldn’t quite tell what was going on, but he could guess the receptionist was trying to pull something. He wasn’t in the loop for this one, clearly. Also, what was with this pricing? That was a whole lot just for a room. Was the first amount supposed to be an infinite reservation or….? Well, they didn’t need it for that long, that much was obvious.
“?” Was he meant to decide though? He wasn’t exactly getting the hint here, assuming there was any, but he had to apparently do something though. “Hmph…” He’d step up, offering the Dreamweaver a cheesy smirk, his voice sharp as he spoke. “Well, what about two hours then…? I suppose that ought to be enough, right?” He’d glance towards the vampire briefly. He could pay for that much, so it wasn’t a huge deal, and that ought to be enough time even if they ended up getting in a longer chat with some victim. |

This one was less fun than the small vampire. Thought the dreamweaver with a pout. Trying to prod into the other’s mind was getting them no where, so they just shifted into the visage of Sharaku instead for the fun of it. Staying in one form for too long was boring. “I suppose that ought to be enough.” The Nightmare said, mirroring the were-vampire’s expression and voice to a T. “That’ll be 80 dollars then.” Both of them cost twenty bucks an hour, then it was two hours, so eighty was the magic number.
Ozaki, unwitting of Sharaku’s intent, slid his half of the bill onto the counter. “Yah, should be enough time.” He did not know the extent of how long Sharaku could use his talent for… He’d like to say that was the reason he’d looked to the were-vampire for the answer. But it was the one he had thought of now. Two hours was a good estimate.
When both of them had paid the Nightmare would slide two cards that were attached to raggedy looking lanyards. “Keep your cards on you and visible at all times. If they are lost or stolen you will no longer be our responsibility. You’ll be in room 201. Have fun.”

The Vamp Wolf | Huh? What was that for? Not that he was against looking at himself, but he also didn’t see the point of that. Then again, it did kind of make him want to flip them the finger. Alas, being rude was probably not a good idea right now, so he had to opt out of doing so. If it was any other time, maybe he would have just to see what it took to get kicked out even when willing to pay. Meh, they’d likely just pull more tricks and make fun of it instead, but it would still be worth the entertainment. Because that was totally the best thing to be thinking about or considering while at a place like this. Ah well, maybe it was good that he could set his mind on amusement even in a grim situation and place like this? Pfft, right. He’d probably just come off as out of his mind…
“Perfect.” He’d hum under his breath as he paid his part of the bill, squinting his gaze at the card he got after picking it up. He’d raise an eyebrow in question. “So…do people here try to steal these from others frequently, or is that a completely random warning…?” Not that he was planning to hand it over to anyone, but if thieving was in fact a common occurrence, it’d be good to keep in mind to be careful. For that kind of money, he’d rather not have it go to waste for a stupid reason. |

The Dream Weaver shrugged, morphing into a random kitsune as they did so and spinning in their chair. “Could happen. Anything could happen. Especially if you lose that card.” The Dreamweaver’s words were not a threat, but a matter of fact. It had happened before, and sometimes people said it had happened before when they were really intruders or people trying to roam the halls without paying for entry into the building.
Since Ozaki had paid his portion he had lapsed into a bit of silence, looking down the hall of where the rooms of the first floor were. They could either take the elevator or the stairs, though the stairs would give them a reason to walk through more of the halls.. That being said. The owners didn’t really care where you went once you paid.
Ozaki could even really see them even going to their room… Granted one’s room was the only place one could be certain one was safe in in this place. The doors had decent locks on them that were only openable by these cards… Or someone with the right talent of course. So even that was dubious. Eeeegh. He didn’t like this place. But he was considerably better armed for it than he had last time.
If anyone tried anything he could sedate them quicker than they could blink.
There were a few doors open going down the hallway. Some open for their various types of business, others open just to let the air in. The hall way was considerably less clean than the lobby, a few blood stains on the walls and floor and various drug paraphernalia and broken beer bottles littering the floor.
He took his lanyard and slipped it over his neck. “We just need to be wary is all.” Ozaki muttered, almost certain that his input was unneeded given how obvious that statement was. If they avoided talking or upsetting anyone... There was still the potential for danger. If you looked too meek or weak you might end up looking like an easy target. The place did have rules... But this place might as well have invented the phrase, 'its only illegal if you get caught.'

The Vamp Wolf | Useless answer, but then again, should he have expected a straightforward one? That’d be far too simple. Eh well, whatever. He wasn’t that worried, and he didn’t feel the need to be. Theoretically, maybe he ought to be at least a bit, but that wasn’t really his style. While he wasn’t entirely fearless, situations like this did not move him. After having spent years living on his own and without knowing whether he was completely safe at any moment? Frankly, he was in a way desensitized when it came to moving through dangerous areas. Playing the survival game is just something you get used to, and if they had to fight, then he’d simply fight. It was not a complicated equation in his mind, that was for sure. Of course, he did still pay attention to what was going on, but being here did not serve to make him nervous. Although he would admit he didn’t find the visage and lackluster cleaning to be a positive thing.
“Getting in trouble is way easier when you don’t even realize you’re supposed to be on the lookout…” Unless of course being wary equals jitters and freaking out for you, in which case…yeah, you’d need a bunch of luck to get through it. “Anyway, what now? Touring?” It did seem quite tricky. If the majority of the visitors were holed up in their own rooms, it wasn’t like they could go banging on everyone’s door asking for entry without casting way too much suspicion on themselves. At the same time, it was a waste of time scouring the hallways without anyone useful present. Given the kind of person they were looking for…what was the chance they’d be walking about instead of hiding in their room to make sure they didn’t snap on someone here too?
He’d think that was the last type of person that’d want to hang in the halls for a chat with other visitors here. Honestly, the most likely ones to be out and available would be the regulars that weren’t here just out of temporary necessity. Unless they were very lucky, or there was a way for them to casually visit other customer’s rooms, this would be very hard. |

“Guess so.” Ozaki said as he started heading down the hallway.
He heard a knock at the door of the Hotel and glanced back as he saw the Nightmare casually stroll over and knock right back that the entrance. That must be the person tailing him. As a vampire they could not simply stroll into just any building without an invite, even if they met the conditions the building set for them. It was possible that they might work out to be good back up… But Ozaki was not going to fully trust them on them being that though.
According to his research this gang very much regarded one another as family. He highly doubted that actually applied to him, however. For one- he was still the son of that vampire hunter. And for another, his official reintroduction into “the family” had been after trying to kill their founder.
They were here to make sure that he didn’t do anything that might get himself killed in the pursuit of Yuuto. But he did not expect them to fully stick out their necks for them in any other scenario. That would be simply unreasonable.
The first door that was open was a man smoking a cigar. He eyed the two as they walked by. This was a man who had paid a pretty penny to get a room of both adequate size for his wares, himself, and potentially a few extra friends as well. He was a man that was here for business, and with a room like this, he was often one who got first dibs.
“Hey.” He said to them as they passed. “Would you like a little something to make your time here extra fun?” One of them was a vampire, the werewolf could tell by the smell. The other one... Was at least half werewolf, half vampire. An unseemly hybrid, but frankly the man did not care for what species they were if he could make an easy buck off them.

The Vamp Wolf | Hmmm, of course, some shady business. Not an unexpected sight to be running into. It could however be a potential clue, depending on what type of stuff this man was offering to…well, most likely sell. Money sure was an important commodity here for such a dirty, unkempt place. They could be using all the cash they were getting from the visitors to do some refurbishing, but apparently that was no important. What did it even go towards? They did charge pretty high.
Regardless, he would pause walking to look at the one voicing offers to them, eyeing him in consideration for a moment before shrugging nonchalantly. Hey, it didn’t hurt to at least question. They couldn’t seem too suspicious when they were the ones being addressed, rather than making the first move and being intrusive. “Well…what would that something happen to be?” Wasn’t going to be candies and lollipops, surely. Most likely things neither of them would have any real interest in, but pretending to have interest for the sake of investigation was on the menu for now. |

Post by Yuuki Ozaki on May 24, 2019 19:38:42 GMT -6
The things that the Beowolf gangster proceeded to list off were all rather normal street dreams. There were a few magical types of drugs as well… The gangster did have a selection of more deadly drugs on hand, but he was not going to lead with that. This may be the place where anything went, but it did pay to have some degree of discretion.
Particularly since some of those drugs were specifically designed to knock a vampire right into a feeding frenzy within seconds of injection. Now that was one he was not liable to go sharing knowledge of with a blood sucker. If the half were-wolf weren’t with the vampire he might but… Obviously they were associates.
Ozaki listened with remote interest, trying to ignore the mutterings in the lobby as the tail Mordred had put on him was dealing with the Dreamweaver. If Sharaku happened to look back he would see a finely dressed vampire woman talking to a currently large bat shaped Dreamweaver. She would stick out with how well done up she was. Obviously she had not been expecting Ozaki to actually go in.
But nonetheless- back to our regularly scheduled show.
Ozaki was currently musing about asking the man if he had seen any vampires go by, saying that they were looking for a friend. There was blood in the halls, some of it fresh, but that did not necessarily mean it came from a vampire. Following the trail itself might be the better move.
Though knocking on random doors to what might potentially be a murder scene upon a non-paying guest seemed like the type of thing that was asking for trouble. Despite his talent, Ozaki had not been nearly as involved in illicit drug deals as you might think… Or perhaps exactly as much as you might think if you knew his more mild mannered persona.
That wasn’t to say he didn’t have a few of the less legal stuff in his arsenal. Though that had not so much been in an attempt to get them for his talent though… Moving on! The vampire was a little out of his element here.
Should he say anything at all? What if it were too revealing as to their actual intentions and he busted them before they even got past the first open door? But he did have to do something. Stop being nervous Ozaki, Sharaku can sense that. He scolded himself.
He was keeping his best poker face that he could, but Ozaki was pretty sure the moment he opened his mouth he’d probably ruin that so… For now he’d refrain from speaking and see where Sharaku went from here. He seemed a bit more savvy on this street stuff than him. At least he had the attitude that he was any how.

The Vamp Wolf | Nah, he wasn’t interested in those vampire goons, unless they came to interact with them. He was far too busy listening to the drug list and trying to make heads and tails of it. This wasn’t quite his forte. He had never really done drugs, not being a big fan of being out of control mentally or physically. Which was something a lot of drugs induced in some ways. Daze, hallucinations, fake feelings, all that stuff. It gave him mental goosebumps to consider taking that. Honestly, he’d be more willing to take the drug they were after right now than that usual wacky shit. At least this did something he knew how to deal with for the most part, and wouldn’t make him into a drunken-esque idiot.
This was a little hard though. His knowledge of drugs was minimal, making it hard for him to come up with a smart response or question to ask. Well, the positive point he had over the vampire was his lack of nervousness and ability to speak with confidence and make himself look like he was comfortable and casual when it came to the whole business and all. It didn’t mean he knew the perfect thing to say however. Perhaps he ought to just bluff about and see where it went…?
Here goes nothing. “I see…you’ve got quite a generous selection for sure, eh? I guess you get a lot of customers coming by with demands for stuff. You’ve got any recommendations based on species?” Hmm, was there such a thing? He had no damn idea, to be fair, but if he could find out anything species related about the customers coming by, or confirm the guy knew a lot about vampires, it’d help. Or he could find a better question to ask based on the answer. He didn’t want to shoot for something too unrelated sounding right off the bat. A fluid conversation would make it less suspicious, whether they ended up declining shopping in the end or not. |

“Why of course, there are a few things especially tailored to blood drinkers such as yourself.” The man was a professional. He might not like dealing with vampires. But hell. Money was money. And so far as he could tell neither of these ones looked like they could be from The Bloods. They lacked the trademark ahoge of Mordred’s ilk… Plus a proper member of the Bloods wouldn’t be caught dead looking as rough around the edges as these two did.
Not to mention the tall one was half werewolf.
“We’ve got Blood Haze, Ruby Rose, and Sparklers, those are the favorites of fanged folks such as yourself.”
“And what do they do?” Ozaki asked, speaking up for the first time. He felt that this much at least was a fine question to ask. He didn’t know what those did, as he tried to keep his hands clean of all this drug nonsense even given the nature of his talent. He had a proper job at the school, and now a daughter on top of it. Plus, if he got hooked on one of them that would be… Problematic even without both of those factors coming into play.
“Well the Sparklers might be enough to pull the stick out of your ass for one.” The werewolf started snickering with laughter. “I’m joking of course.”
“You’d snort the Sparklers, and like the name suggests, they make everything all sparkly and chill. Ruby Rose enhances will get you hopped up and your heart popping… Really good for getting in the mood fast. Elevates the experience to a whole new level too.” Male vampires were nefariously hard to get ready and revved up in bed quickly. There was definitely no room for shyness in this business.
Clearly at least the young looking one was green around the ears when it came to this business. Indeed he was suspecting that neither of them knew what they were getting into. Anyone who did would just walk in asking for what they wanted by name rather than asking questions. But he’d hold reservations rather than making quick assumptions.
“Blood Haze will cause weird hallucinations, mixing up your senses like a blender.” And more, if he gave them just the wrong batch. The worst of the effects of that one, however, were delayed. So they’d be gone from here long before the worst of the effects really hit home.

The Vamp Wolf | Well, he arguably didn’t need to know all that. It only made him question why people took some of these drugs. Why would anyone want to hallucinate or see fucking sparkles? He’d consider that a good way to make himself want to commit suicide, honestly. It sounded like an unbelievably annoying experience to go through. Even if he were to be ‘chill’, he didn’t think he’d jump for joy at seeing sparkly things, and mixed up senses were just a pain in the ass rather than being a pleasant state of being.
He’d put on hand on his hip with an amused huff, wiggling his brows briefly. “I doubt my companion would be interested in playing around sadly.” Not that he would either, but making a suggestive joke was the best thing he could pull out right now. “And going out on the others is tricky. Don’t think we’re staying in here long enough….”, he’d muse to himself aloud, at least trying to pretend like he was somewhat interested if it wasn’t for the ‘circumstances’. Hopefully he’d never have to try, as much as he was curious as to what was so great about these drugs…
That said, there was something he was more curious about than the perceived great effects of these drugs. He didn’t know whether the vampire noticed, since their sense of smell was not on the level of a canine, but personally, he was interested. It’d be harder to miss given he was one himself as well. What was a werewolf doing selling drugs to vampires anyway? “Though I was curious about something…you’re a…it’s surprising that you’ve got enough vamps buying from you. Don’t you lot normally not get along? Shady business only makes business potentially less trustworthy after all.” Then again, maybe they didn’t generally notice? Werewolves weren’t as obvious as most vampires were with their fangs and pale profiles. He didn’t know how well a full vampire would recognize just based on smell and such, since that didn’t apply to him…..
Either way, he was interested in how that went, at the very least. |

“A vamp’s cash is just as green as a wolf’s.” Unless they got blood on it of course. Technically that could be the case for either if a werewolf let their wolf side get the best of them. But vampires were inclined to be messy eaters if they got hungry enough.
Though Sharaku was right that a good deal of vampires wouldn’t buy from a werewolf dealer. Most wouldn’t even approach him. But it paid to have the product on you in case there was anyone with low enough survival instincts to actually come near him. Being half werewolf probably meant that the mutt wouldn’t be killed by a bite from him. But the full vamp was a different story.
Their drugs usually did not sell well to vampires, which was where it paid to simply have a fast acting version of the modified Blood Haze on hand. But he wasn’t going to hit them with that here. While they were leaving the building while their backs were turned would be the best time. Then they could go wreck havoc somewhere else. “A vamp doesn’t want to purchase from me that ain’t my problem.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Was that… A dirty joke? Given the eyebrow waggles Ozaki was going to assume it was. Hahaha. Yah. A joke for sure. For one that was just banter, for another he highly doubted Sharaku would be interested in “playing around” with him either. Most people weren’t lining up for that though. Haha… Okay moving on!
“Maybe we’ll grab something on our way out though?” Ozaki offered, hoping to offer them an easy out to keep looking around. He wasn’t sure that they were going to get anything but drugs from this guy. And following the blood trail felt promising…
Granted following a blood trial in a place like this could lead to a dead end. “Though hope you don’t mind me asking… We’re actually looking for a vampire friend of ours. Don’t suppose you’ve seen one pass this way?” Immediately upon asking the question Ozaki regretted twice over from before doing so. He’d just felt weird standing by quietly not doing anything. Maybe he should have stayed that way though.
The Vamp Wolf | Ooookay, right. He wasn’t sure how much he was willing to believe that down to a T. Why would he in a situation like this? Besides, the fact that the man had only focused on the vampire side of things, despite having had to know they weren’t both full vampires said something. Not that he cared much about making the werewolf acknowledge it, but it did say something about how he viewed vampires at the very least. He didn’t intend to argue right now though…
As much as he wanted to give Ozaki a ‘what’ look at the question that followed. Was it really a good idea to ask about where people went in a shady place like this? And specifically ask a werewolf about where some vampire went. Well, that could make the man more inclined to tell, but probably not so much to other vampires. There was no need for a werewolf to help their kind out for free like that, and given what they were, there would be no reason to assume they’d be looking for negative reasons.
“…..”
Uh, how was he supposed to react to that however…he didn’t suppose he could act surprised or too weirded out because that would only make it more suspicious than it could already seem. He’d settle on giving a faint snort. “Hmph, I’d bet we’d have to pay for extra information like that too. Is anything free in this kind of business?” Well, playing along with a bit of a joke flair might divert big scrutiny at least. Or maybe not. The best thing would be getting lucky and the werewolf for some reason freely telling them something important, but he doubted it’d be as easy as that… |
