welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

I am young, don't know 'bout love
we are wild, can't get enough~
Quinn made her way across the grounds of the school towards her dorm, a large trolley full of luggage trailing easily behind her. Two large suitcases and assortment of hand luggage, packed as much as physically possible with whatever she could bring in from home. Clothes, accessories, personal bits and bobs, whatever she could bring along to make this her home away from home. Despite the fact the load had to be approximately sixty kilos worth of stuff, she dragged it along with ease. Her Panthera strength making it relatively easy for her. She was wearing her favourite red jumper and little black skirt. Sporting a pair of black knee high socks, and plimsoles to match. Her long dark hair tied up in twin ponytails, just how she liked it. A little skip in her step as she excitedly approached the dorm she was going to be living it. The beginning of the best years for sure, no parents, no silly rules. She was more excited than she had ever been in her entire life. Convincing her parents that Eldritch Academy's education system was a worthy enough for the Beaumont offspring, had to be the best decision she had ever made.
Stepping through doors, her vibrant blue eyes taking in the site before her. "Well paint me green and call me shrek, this is niiiice." She said in a loud and exuberant tone. Letting go of the trolley full of luggage behind her and taking a little wander to explore the dorm. It was a little busy already, she placed her hands on her hips and wondered whether she should do a little socialising first or head straight to her room to get set up. She knew what option seemed more fun, she just hoped that her Dorm-mates were up to it.

He had moved in recently, too, coincidentally. His company (moreover, himself, actually) wanted to get an education. Naturally, his company turned it into some form of publicity stunt. Per usual. At least he wouldn't have to diet while attending the school. Seohee already moved in, with a few agents carrying the heaviest of his things. He was actually on his way out to explore the building. He set upon his mind to explore the dormitory. Its best to learn the building. Or just to snoop around. He's a curious one. His process is interrupted by a loud shriek. He turns towards the source of the noise. "What... is a Shrek?" He says, louder than expected.

Walking across the cold stone ground below Aspen, with slow steps, made her way towards the unfamiliar building ahead. She had asked someone in school uniform about this ominous dormitory she had been assigned to, apparently called "Vermilion" or something along those lines. She stopped and sighed. Not like it really mattered where she would live anyway. Worrying about that wasn't what she was sent here for by her family, after all. She had more important things to think about. For now though, the best she could do was, well, find her room and see what would come of it. She had heard that people could possibly end up having roommates in those housing blocks people called dorms and hoped that she wouldn't have to go through a headache like that. Really though, these "dorms" were just glorified cardboard boxes, nothing compared to the land and mansions the Azarov Clan owned, but she'd have to endure. Her grandfather's orders were strict and unequivocal. She'd just try to make the best of it for as long as she could and however she could.
There she was now, nearing the entrance of this dorm and pushing open a door before stepping into the building. Already, her senses were offended with a flood of intense colour, red. Red as far the eye could see. The furniture, carpets, wallpapers, everything covered in the burgundy hues of what she could only speculate was a tactic to create an effect of recognition or team spirit. Needless to say, she didn't like it. A nice cyan would've been much more soothing to the eyes ... she took a deep breath. There was no point in getting upset over something she couldn't change. The bag with essentials in her right and a piece of paper in her left she stepped further into the entrance hall. Aspen already missed the servants. She had been assigned a room but had no idea where to go. Of course a servant could've guided her, but ... the only thing she could spot was two people standing close to each other, one male and one female. Rolling her eyes, she realized she had no other real choice. Stepping towards them Aspen cleared her throat before opening her mouth to speak, glancing down at the piece of paper in her hand, "You don't happen to know where I can find room 01.C, do you ?"

I am young, don't know 'bout love

As she scanned the room, Quinn began to work out the amount of people you could fit in there, it was a good fit for a party. A dorm party seemed like an interesting prospect, perhaps if she made enough of the right connections she could get one in place. She would just have to re-read the school policies on social gatherings and dorm restrictions. Obviously it was probably going to be a 'no-booze' situation on account of the number of underage students, including herself. A slight bummer, but not a massive set back. If the energy was right you could still have a good time; music, food and decent sources of entertainment were the most important factors of a good party. Plus the people who were attending of course. Whilst in the musings and planning on her future in-dorm activities, a voice broke through her thoughts. She glanced over at the white-haired guy, her attention drawn by his question. Her lips curled up into a grin at the question, it was a rather human concept after all. She let out a giggle and turned to face him fully, "Oh, it's just a character from some human movie, an amusing depiction of what they think an ogre actually looks like, much less frightening than the real thing. Pretty funny though. Hi, by the way." She responded in a friendly tone, and a small wave. Stepping over to the guy, he had at least addressed her, so she felt it was polite to at least engage in conversation with him. Getting to know her fellow students was a key step on her to do list, she didn't struggle this hard to get here only to be some sad loner with no friends. She was gonna live it up as much as physically possible.
Quinn heard the approaching footsteps, but didn't glanced over until they began to their throat, she looked over to see a girl with long brown hair about her age. Quinn's bright blue eyes scanned the girl from top to bottom. Her clothes weren't exactly Quinn's style but that was fine, everyone had different tastes right. Quinn's sensitive nose could tell that this girl was human, they just had a certain flavour, not like the guy she had been originally talking to. He was something else, something she was unfamiliar with. Quinn pouted in a thought, reaching over to the black handbag dangling off her shoulder. She pulled out a little diary, it's cover patterned in a red tartan fabric, miniature post-stick notes stuck to several of the pages in an assortment of bright colours. She flicked through it, reading the section she wanted, she skimmed it's contents until she reached the information she had noted down for herself. "Oh yeah, 01.C, thought I recognised it. I haven't been there yet but that's my room, guess you're my roomie. Fancy meeting so early on huh? My names Quinn, nice to meetcha'." She glanced back at the white haired guy as she said this to inform him as well, not particular bothered about whether or not he cared for this information.

Behind the three already getting acquainted inside, the door to the south wing swung open loud and fast, revealing a tall, muscular male. For first impression's sake he had a shirt on in this case, but it was just a black tank top that revealed his decorated arms. Earlier he'd even had a jacket, but now it was slung over the small duffle he toted in one hand. Instead of his more ornamental but typically oriental pants, he had on loose tan pants. Kiran wasn't one to give two craps about first impressions, but he'd been around long enough to know being trapped with people who have already formed troublesome opinions could make for some long days. His long, nearly black locks were tied into a low pony, the green sheen from the lights off the bangs and wisps around his face the only hint that his hair held a different hue. Shaking some of said bangs from his peridot eyes, he approached the group.
First he noticed the girl in red, fitting considering the decor of the Vermilion theme. Did she plan that? He felt right at home among the crimson interior since it was his favorite color, but now that he thought about it, he was pretty sure he didn't own any clothing that was red. That included all the things he'd left at home. The teen had packed light, not needing much to begin with, and having little use for material things at this point in his life. Inside the small duffle were tightly rolled apparel; a couple shirts, a couple pants, his pajamas, work out clothes, a couple different shoe options, his much needed ceremonial tea set...wait. Had he packed underpants? His steps paused as the pale shadow of gut-punch remembrance hit him. He would need more than the one pair he had on. Looks like that was being added to the supply list...
Shaking his moment of panic out of his mind, an crooked smile appeared on his lips and he took in the other two. The white haired boy had no things, so he must already be settled. The other was another girl with brown hair and an eye scar. Interesting. "I thought there'd be more people in here...am I late or early?" he inquired to the group, snaking his free hand into his pocket.

He laughs and covers his mouth coyly, pressing his thumb nail into his lip. "Oh really? I don't consume a lot of human media, I guess," he says back, amiably. Oops. Was he alluding his non-humanness? If he gets recognized by a fan or whatever then the secret's out, but in the world of the rich, elite, and prestigious, racism was and is still commonplace. Even the previously mentioned Shrek is dubbed deeply racist by minority groups. Not that he knows. Even if said race is ~beautiful~. He scratches at his forehead, where his gemstone sits, hidden. It's resembles a ruby, red, just like his dorm. The reason he choose Vermillion, actually. His whitish, cyan hair and horsey nature probably would've better fit Cobalt, actually. He second-guesses himself. Is it too late to change dorms? He's already moved in and has a roommate. Ugh. At least the people don't seem bad.
He zones out again, literally staring at the wall. His head, while turned towards a poster advertising something, he feigns reading it. His attention snaps back to his people around him. He hears something about 'zero ??? c'. And that they're roommates. He lets out a short breath through his nose in amusement. "What a coincidence," he says calmly, but with an amused smile.
Then, the front door opens. Another burst of cold air rushes into the large atrium. Ugh. They should really stand further in the building. If they treat the place like a big house, which would be pretty fun actually, he would've asked the new person to take his shoes off. As well as those standing around him. A cultural difference, maybe? Shoes were always off, even in public buildings (cliff dwellings or treehouses) in his hometown. Shoes were barely necessary, actually. They flew everywhere, anyways. He recognizes that he's run on a tangent and thinks of something to say to the newcomer, a male. Seth looks at him. And then avoid any negative thought about him. "Early, I hope," he jokes. { } Pulling into the dorm was a little bit of a hassle thanks to the amount of people who were telling their parents goodbye and as such, the ability to drive had slowed down to a halt and the black haired idol in the car sighed. Placing a red baseball cap onto his head, Jin would roll his eyes as he placed on a face mask in order to hide his facial features. He recognized the fact that the most of the people who indulged within his songs were around his age and were from Mistere instead of Hisakawa. He was supposed to be at this academy to develop his unknown talent then head right back into the draining career of an idol. It was fun sometimes but honestly, it was kind of draining more than anything else. Over-nighters that transitioned into early mornings did not go over well with him. It's fine. He's fine. At least here, he can be a normal person as opposed to someone special. He was just like every other person. Well, at least half like every other person. Grabbing his bag from the trunk, his manager would give him a hug as he stiffened within the older man's grasp. He really appreciated that he was close to his manager but it seemed like his manager really wanted to try for something akin to a father-son kind of relationship, which wasn't really needed as the young idol was rather close to his father in all honesty. "Have a safe drive back. Get home safely." With a gentle bow Jin would pull the retracting handle out of his bags as he wheeled his luggage into the Vermillion dorm, Jin would take a deep breath and get a little flustered as he realized he fogged up his glasses. Right now, they just were adjusting to the light thanks to the transitional lenses but, he took them off for a moment to wipe them. Keeping a low profile should be priority but he can't really help it if he gets discovered. It's not like it's forbidden to get discovered. But, he'd like to get through with just a couple of people who were close to him. The dorm felt rather comfortable as he noticed a group of four people conversing. There was a girl with twintails wearing red, almost seemingly the poster girl for the dorm and she seemed nice enough, another brunette girl who seemed to be newly acquainted with the aforementioned twintailed girl, a rather tall black haired male who entered right before him and actually, there was a familiar face somewhat. It was Seohee, he was actually his juniour from RE. He didn't expect to see another idol here but honestly, seeing how well refined the younger male was made Jin feel a little sick. How could he even measure up to that? He saw his debut video and was completely taken by surprise at how well-received he was at the idea that he wasn't human. Although, pegasi are looked at more fondly than demons so, that explains that. Standing somewhat behind them against the wall, Jin would settle himself somewhat quietly, one earbud hanging out from his sweatshirt as music quietly played in the other one. With how much he covered up his face, it'd be really unlikely that they'd know who he was. Although he didn't want to interrupt whatever was happening right now, so he'd wait quietly until someone took notice of him. Taking out a small book, the brunette would pull out a small pocket journal and a pen and jot down some quick thoughts he had for lyrics. All while quietly eavesdropping on whatever what is said. Aspen sighed inwardly when the girl mentioned that she not only knew of the room she was looking for, no, she would also live in the same room. Great. So much for living alone and having a space for herself. It didn't matter. While perhaps she could offer formal protest, that wouldn't make her any friends. Quite the opposite, actually. She didn't really care too much what others would think of her, in honesty, but ... it would perhaps be the most wise course of action to not make enemies immediately upon joining this school. Who knew ? Maybe she could get on the girl's better side. She'd never really had any friends, there were of course the servants back home and her siblings, but ... those were different cases entirely. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, Quinn", Aspen gave back with expressionless nod, not feeling like forcing a smile, but extending a hand. "My name is Aspen Azarov. I hope for efficient coope-", interrupted in the middle of her sentence by a male noisily making his entrance into the dorm, heading straight for the small group that had started to form here in the hall. "Great, one more idiot to deal with", the girl quietly thought to herself as she retracted her hand, whether Quinn had shaken it or not. To the question whether the guy was early or not Aspen had no answer, stoically shrugging her shoulders before the other boy with the pleasant hair colour could offer his attempt at humor. This was already getting a little too crowded for her right away. She wasn't really one for inconsequential conversation that would lead nowhere, "small-talk" as they used to say, and naturally wasn't inclined to partake in this gathering. Words were weapons, so she had learned from her grandfather, just as sharp as knives and swords. She didn't really know how to interpret that or how to use that knowledge, but she kept it in the back of her head.
Quickly shaking her head, only faintly acknowledging the other person that had stepped into the dorm, seemingly clad in a full face mask, odd really, she opened her mouth to speak, her monotonous voice devoid of emotion, as it was so often the case. "If that is all pleasantries exchanged, I would like to excuse myself. I still have to get settled, after all", already having finished her sentence when she realized that it might come off as cold or rude even. Where she didn't really have the desire to make the words that followed into reality, she very much knew that etiquette was a thing, and so spoke once again, "Perhaps we could get better acquainted afterwards ? I saw a shop that sells warm drinks on my way here", hoping the others would decline that while forcing herself to display a weak smile before turning for the stairs at the other side of the hall.

Quinn shrugged at the guys reply, she understand that. Her parents were the same, and rarely pertained to much human technologies. Quinn was a little more open minded, and quite enjoyed the simplistic creations of the human species. Television and music were unique sources of entertainment for the guy, she was happy to enjoy them. It was better not to take the species too seriously, they're lack of understanding of the magical beings around them wasn't worth the energy of a protest in her mind. "Massive coincidence huh, guess this means we'll be getting to know each other pretty well." Quinn watched the girls expression, she offered a polite greeting and handshake but her expression was utterly stiff. Quinn reached out and shook in, offering her a warm smile. Maybe the girl was just a little shy or somewhat of an introvert. Quinn hoped profusely that she wasn't the boring type, Quinn had hoped to have as much fun as possible this year. If the girl was going to be a stickler in the mud, that might prove a little troublesome for the young Panthera.
Quinn's attention was drawn by the boy joining them, an attractive guy who was clearly built. The patterns and markings on his arms were intriguing, Quinn couldn't help but admire them. Usually members of her tribes sported tattoos of a more tribal style, but this guy's were much more pretty and details. The girl smirked a little, raising a brow a little. he was soon followed by another male, another good-looking guy. This one however didn't join the group but kept back a little. She glanced back at the blue haired guy and tilted her head thoughtfully. The students here are bizarrely attractive... She thought casually, not that this was a bad thing. It was always nice to have a little eye-candy around, she was a sixteen year old girl after all. She laughed at the interaction between the one who had joined them and the light-haired male. "I assume people are either setting up in their rooms or exploring the campus." She added, as Aspen excused herself Quinn offered her a small wave. "Okay girl, I'll be heading there in a bit to set up myself, ugh, so much to unpack." She replied rolling her eyes at the thought of unpacking and jutting her thumb in the direction of her stupendous amount of lugger. She enjoyed getting organised, but the sheer massive amount wasn't going to make for an easy task, "Oh a hot drink sounds fabulous, consider me there" She added with a wink before turning to look back at the group. "So what classes have you signed up for?" She asked, curious to see who she would be seeing more of round the place.

Hm, it seemed one of the girls already took off before he could even catch her name, and vice versa. Must be the loner type. Living in an academy setting would be torturous for her, he was certain. The boy wasn't one to waste time forcing others who clearly weren't interested in conversation to hang around, so he watched her go with a simple wave of his hand, attitude up to interpretation.
Turning his attention back to the last remaining female, he caught her question about classes. With a heavy sigh, the phoenix barely suppressed an eyeroll. "I don't even remember," Kiran responded at first, scratching the back of his head. The distant look in his eyes was only there momentarily before he snapped back to the present. "I know I have combat and talent training. Then the others that are boring as crap but required, like the Fundamentals of Light and Dark 101 and Historical Thinking? Oof..." he trailed off, already lamenting the amount of time he'd be wasting in these pointless classes with homework. He'd much rather have all active classes, using his body effectively over sitting hunched over a book or computer for hours. "What about you to?"
Once his counter question was asked, he couldn't help but feel the eyes watching from somewhere. Noting the boy who had entered behind him was still lingering along the wall like a lurking weirdo, Kiran turned his body more to take a better look. His smirk reappeared, and his next words were ill-thought out, but said all the same. "Hey! Loafing over there won't make things any easier!" he began, then noticed the face mask. A dark brow quirked. "Or...are you afraid we'll give you some sort of disease? I'll have you know I am one-hundred percent healthy."

{ } Jin chuckled to himself quietly as he watched one of the girls took off in a hurry as it seemed like. Smiling beneath his face mask, he'd continue jamming out to the indie music playlist that he had set up a couple of nights ago, pleasantly surprised with his song choice nowadays. Usually, he wasn't all about indie music, but right now, he couldn't get enough of it. Making a quick mental note, Jin wanted to make sure that on his next album, he included an indie track that everyone could quietly jam to or study in general to. Smiling, the young man would notice that he caught the girl with twintails attention it was a short little glance but he still caught it. It made sense that he was attracting attention though, he was completely covering his face seldom his eyes. However, he also caught another boy's attention and this person actually made an effort to talk to him. Chuckling to himself, the young incubus would lower the face mask and pull it just below his chin, somewhat accentuating his jawline. "Oh, I was content with watching you guys interact but if you insist~" He finished his quip with a little sing song tone at the end and pushed off the wall so that he sort of jogged over to the group of new students. Greeting them with a slight wave of a hand, Jin would smile warmly as he spoke, "Nice to meet you all, my name is Jin. Pleased to make your acquaintance." With a slight bow, the young man would respond to the person who brought him into this conversation, "Oh, I don't really want to risk it you know? But, I'll take your word for it. I hope you are properly cleansed." A playful jab but he knew it'd be fine. Making a heart with his fingers at the man just in case he took offense, Jin would pause the music playing on his phone while he looked at the people around him. MADE BY VEL OF GS

| the look of me when i opened my eyes,

Another figure walked through the doors to the dorm and stands to the side. Huh. He side eyes him and after a minute of debating whether or not he knows this person, he decides he does. Like how you can recognize a friend or family member just by their silhouette or fashion choice, he pinpoints the newcomer with ease. (And perhaps with the added help of ~Pegasi Magic~... or something.)
It's Jiyeon. A vastly superior company-mate to himself in Seth's head. Veiled almost head to toe, he clearly doesn't want to be noticed (or maybe he does?) or at least not talked at. Which too bad for him, happens anyways. The brash guy invites--forces--him into the conversation. Huh. Kind of ironic how first-introductions between the brother idols would happen at such a neutral ground. A school, which they were attending together. Despite Jiyeon's (or Jin's, actually) seniority in the company, Seohee is still older than him. A grandpa basically to him, in most regards. Not that he really cares for positions at all, actually. Those didn't really exist back in his hometown, BUT it does pose for an interesting dynamic. Perhaps it's a pressing change to introduce themselves as equals.
Observing the conversation for a brief minute, he chips in: "And you don't have to worry! If you get sick I can," he catches himself curtly and hesitates for a second before continuing, "Nurse you back to health. Soup and all! I... consider myself a good chef." He hopes that didn't sound creepy.
He then turns to the newly arrived Jin, anxiously holding his hands together at his waist. "And I already know you. Nice to see you so soon," he says without any sort of bodily gesture. Hopefully that wasn't as awkward as it sounded in his head.
"Oh. Did I mention my name? It's Chan Hee, but feel free to call me Seth." Seohee is only for those he's confident won't have same in mispronouncing it. Or for acquaintances and colleagues at his company. "I'm taking a 'Talent Class'," he says in air quotes, "...As well as the usual. Math, language, chemistry. I'm thinking about signing up for more electives. Fun classes like psychology or archeology." He smiles. His long awaited dream of a liberal arts education is finally coming to fruition. "Enough about me, though," he says, "I was about to explore the dorm. Should we walk and talk?" he asks with a half-smile. LAIKA OF THQ

I am young, don't know 'bout love...
we are wild, can't get enough~
The first guy to respond to her question mentioned most of the subjects she was also taking, she wondered if that meant they would end up being in the same classrooms. As least there was that, meaning she wouldn't have to deal with rooms full of unfamiliar faces. He was a little assertive but he seemed approachable enough. Quinn smirked as the guy with the tattoo's called over the guy with the nice eyes and covered face. He proceeded to reveal the rest of his face, revealing exactly the kind of face she predicted him to have. Seriously, it was like I'm in a school full of idols... Not that she was that familiar with any idols. She had never quite got into the phase of fangirling over male singers and putting up posters in her room.
He then introduced himself as Jin before making a quip about the other guy's hygiene. Following which the blue haired guy responded to with a rather interesting nursing comment involving soup. She let out a little snicker a the weirdness of the moment before recomposing herself, "From what I can smell, I believe everyone here has been appropriately cleansed. Although that might not be a good thing, not when it means you'll miss out on Nurse Seth over here," She said with her own little playful quip, nudging the blue haired guy with a teasing grin. He proceeded to list of some of the classes he was taking, she nodded in response, "Yeah, I'm pretty much taking every class possible, gotta keep the folks back home happy if I wanna stick around. But at least I get some freedom here, I'm looking forward to some real fun without the parental leash on me. You know how it is, work hard, play harder." She nodded at his suggestion to walk and talk as they explored the dorm, and began to walk along with him.

Oof. Chan Hee, whom he would probably call Seth, had just been so awkward he cringed a little, but found himself grinning at the blue haired boy's expense. "See? She says I smell good, so I'm cleansed," Kiran responded to Jin's jeer jovially. Phoenixes were nearly obsessed with preening and bathing to keep clean, but none of them really needed to know that. In any case, none of his feathers were ruffled. He actually preferred to have friends to tease. It made the academic setting much more endurable. It was those asocial people like the girl who had left earlier at his arrival that made school less fun.
Walking along with the group, he decided now was as good a time as any to offer his name. "I'm Kiran Jiang, by the way. I guess we'll all be seeing a lot of each other for the foreseeable future. We should throw a party or something."
[OOC: The original post I had was much better than this, but I lost it. I hate rewriting posts. >.o]
