Name of Talent: Dying Light
Concept: The concept of dying light is the concept that the sun always sets and dims vision. Dying Light conceptually clouds the vision of those towards the user, having them appear as the light even while their heart is covered in darkness. Mundane is how the user will appear, though their true talents are anything but. Able to cloud vision and erase memories, they become an unremarkable shadow that stretches across the land, twisting through the cracks till all feels their cold touch. The removable of noticeability of the user isn’t the only blessing this talent provides, imparting memories and commands to those of weak will is also possible, clouding their minds vision to believing whatever is said to be the truth. In turn the user suffers from nightmares that manifest as beasts, gnashing away as their emotions and empathy till only a hollow corpse remains. When the user can find solace in their mind, their dreams heal them of their petty mortality, restoring their flesh’s life anew. Still the nightmares never cease their persistence, eventually twisting the user to become the herald of an eternal night filled with deception, the user of dying light is akin to a plague that must be snuffed out with the light of hope, lest vision never return.
Extra(s): Lyra has Lucid dreams and nightmares, both blessing and cursing her.
Positive Mechanics:
• Lyra’s capabilities appear mundane, she seems weak and talentless to those who have no idea about her true potential, this includes the schools grading system, she appears as a zero.
• Can impart commands to those who are weak willed (NPC’s mostly) and cause them to act on these commands as if they had thought of them and they are the truth. (To affect any plot NPC’s or event NPC’s requires permission).
• Lyra can disappear from other memories for brief periods of time to avoid being seen or noticed by them, though should she exert malice towards them they will instantly remember.
• Lyra can channel her mental focus to give her body +1 speed for five minutes.
• Lyra can channel her mental focus to give her body +1 stamina for five minutes.
• Lyra can channel her mental focus to give her body +1 strength for five minutes.
• Lyra’s mind acts as a fortress against others mental abilities. Lyra’s highest resistance to others mental talents so long as they affect her mind directly (such as making her see illusions, or trying to control her, etc.)
• Lyra’s nightmares can manifest into reality to plague her enemies instead of just her. These nightmares manifest as several different eldritch beasts with gnashing teeth and sharp claws, made of shadow and bone. They stay close to Lyra, and don’t feel pain and can never truly fade away when “killed” as their true existence is metaphorical, though they can interact with the world as if they were real. It takes a few minutes for them to manifest back into reality when “killed”, typically three to five depending on the severity of the blow.
• Whenever Lyra sleeps and has positive dreams her body is fully healed, however this naturally means she’s vulnerable to being hurt again because she’s asleep.
Negative Mechanics:
• Lyra’s heart is forever cold against those around her, even if she acts the part of friend it’s simply an act.
• Lyra’s mind can only give her body +1 to any of the aspects listed above, she can’t use all of them at the same time.
• Most non-species animals are naturally fearful of her, making her terrible arounds pets.
