In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

It was pretty normal at the academy. Most people were having their break or getting ready for dinner while the sun was slowly setting down on the horizon making the sky colored with an orange and purple tone throughout. Everyone was doing their own thing in their breaks. Most of them were just Relaxing and having a drink There was one student that wasn't doing any of them. There was one student that wasn't near any of the other students. This student was named Jinn Kuki.
Jinn was laying on the roof of the school. He was sitting there calmly with his legs dangling down the edge. His blue-grey colored eyes were closed while his black hair fell partly in front of them. He was sitting there enjoying the silence calmly. He liked having times like this it reminded him of home when he lived with his parents at the Hotsprings. It was mostly peaceful and quiet so there was never something going on.

Ah how lovely it was, sunbathing on the roof. Humans may find the act rather weird, but to cats they were the weird ones for not enjoying it. Felines often enjoyed the cat of sunbathing. The sun was a good source of warmth, and warmth was something cats loved above all else. Well, besides food and catnip of course. But heat was up there among the top three... But of course there was catching mice too, and scratching your claws against some ridged wood... Okay, maybe there were a lot of things cats liked, but warmth was one of those many things.
Felis often slept in strange places. If not his own classroom, then a student's dorm or even in the garden. There was no place he wouldn't sleep. As long as it was warm he could snooze there for hours. Which is what he had done atop that roof for a while now. He should be hosting a class right about now... But honestly? The feline would give his students a day off, merely because he wanted to. A sort of study hall. Because, well, he sure as hell wasn't getting up any time soon.
The white feline purred as he soaked up the sun, curled into a tight ball just a little away from where Jinn currently was. He stretched out his from legs, kneading the ground under him before settling back down, licking his lips and continuing his deep sleep.
Just a few more hours, then he'd go back inside. He swore.

A little bored, Crishendia flew a bit through the air as she looked over the courtyard. Seeing the other students and teachers busy with their break time, the angel didn't really know what she wanted to do with her time right now. Honestly, she already ate, so she didn't feel like having more food. Instead she had chosen to stretch her wings a little as she fluttered through the sky. Seeing a few look up at her, she did feel a bit burdened by any looks taken in her direction. There were others that flew, so it wasn't like she was a strange sight.
Still, she didn't like attention too much as Crishendia slowly descended onto the rooftop of the school. She had noticed another person already being present there, but during her descend she slowly took in the roof and noted a cat there as well. Thinking back, there was a professor that was a cat... right? Or was this another student that could turn into a cat? I don't know, it's hard keeping track of everyone, to her cats just looked mostly the same. So she didn't feel like trying to figure out what differences there were between each and every cat.
Considering there was a lot of shapeshifting, Crishendia pondered whether they also had human forms. Much like she could easily make her wings disappear. As the angel landed on the rooftop, her wings faded away while she walked over the rooftop, noting her gaze was still fixated towards the cat. Averting her gaze, she tried to think up if it was rude to look constantly at people to start with. Perhaps she should focus on something else. There was someone sitting by the edge of the building, she thought she had seen him in the west wing before. So likely also of the Orchid dorms. |

Jinn looked around himself since he felt people around him. Jinn saw a white cat laying around close to him followed by a girl flying with her wings towards the roof. Jinn sighed a bit "Damn holy things" Jinn thought to himself. Jinn was an incubus so he was basically a demon. He never liked holy things since it was like poison to him.
He notices the girl mostly staring at the cat closer by. He calmly looked at the cat and reached his hand towards the cat and scratched the cat calmly on the top of his head. He didn't really care if the cat was a student or a teacher. He just wanted to pet the cat. Jinn looked up towards the girl before calmly saying "You know it's pretty rude to stare at people" Jinn said calmly towards her.

She was quickly adapting to the Academy, almost able to treat it the same as the school she attended prior, nearly. While other's prepared for winding the day down, she still had about a forth of her daily tasks to do, extra studying and practicing mostly. With that in mind? She was dressed in her running outfit with her long ebony hair tied into a tidy well kept ponytail. During her run she noticed several figures on the roof, and on the chance anything was up the teenager chose to go up and investigate. Unlike the professor and two students already up there, she had to take the time to take stairs considering she was human. "What's going on up here?" she asked the question in a rather soft voice not seeming to be meek, but also clearly checking up to make sure no one was doing anything wrong by the stern undertone.

Despite being asleep, Felis reacted rather well to being pet by a random stranger. Of course, the cat never minded being pet by anyone really. Some of his own kind may hate it or see it as being discriminated, but why would he ever rejected something that felt nice? Still fast asleep the tom let out a loud, rumbling purr, feeling the soft pats upon his head. He missed the constant pets he used to get from Angelica while she worked on her potions so it was pretty nice.
Ah, yes. Pets. How could he forget the one thing cats loved above everything else?
The feline let out a content sigh through his pink nose, rolling over onto his side to continue his sunning.

"Get back here you flying rat!" A voice cried out as the bird that flew far above the ground tilted its head curiously downwards. Flying over the courtyard it only saw a streak of blue lightning forking its way through the group of students scattered across the the campus grounds, and its eyes widened suddenly. Gaining more height, the unusually large bird tried to outrun its chaser, but to no avail it would seem. Kaiden was far too quick. Carefully making sure he didn't run into anyone, the the man sprinted through the yard at lightning speeds thanks to his legendary darksteel armor which currently covered his entire body. All he had wanted to do today was to chill, and maybe get some fresh air. Now that experience was forever tainted as the second he sat down to eat his lunch, an enormous bird dove straight for it. But it wasn't going to get away, not if he could help it.
As the bird attempted to fly over the roof of the building to shake Kaiden off, the man simply leaped upwards. Thanks to his armor, he was able to jump to extreme heights. With his hand grabbing a window ledge, he quickly swung up his other arm and began to climb up the side of the building at a quick pace until his feet found enough space for another jump. With that he flew up and over the roof of the building, grabbing the bird mid air! The man quickly fell and rolled to the ground, as both him and the animal tumbled together, the bird dropping the man's lunch in the process. Kaiden wasted no time getting to his feet, holding out his blade as it hummed with blue electricity, standing directly in front of his bagged sandwhich as the bird shook its head and squawked angrily at him. He made a few threatening swings in the air in front of him and the bird simply grumbled and took off again... He had won this day.
In a flash of blue light, the black armor vanished from Kaiden's body revealing a normal looking man with blue hair, eyes, and jacket. He simply leaned down, grumbling to himself as he picked up his squashed sandwhich and sighed. That's when he noticed other people on the roof with him.
"Oh uhh. Hi."

Staring at the man as she listened, Crishendia merely lifted her shoulder in a shrug as she closed her eyes momentarily. Well, she agreed with him, staring wasn't very kind and she didn't like being stared at either. So she could understand she was in the wrong here. Turning her gaze away, she wandered to the side of the rooftop while hearing another having arrived at the rooftop. Instead of like what she did, this one came from the building. Looking in Lavender's way, a sudden cry had her stumble and change her gaze and her body moved back while turning as well to confront where the call came from.
A lerge bird was flying around while chased by... something. An armored figure that appeared to be going after the bird, what even is going on? Turning her head a little to check on the others, she didn't exactly recognize the girl. Turning back to the odd spectacle, Crishendia remained standing in place, but loosened her body a little instead of standing in some sort of stance. The battle came quick to an end at least as the man was now on the rooftop while guarding a... bagged sandwich? Really?
With the armor disappearing and the man finally noticing people on the rooftop, Crishendia merely waved with a "hello" in a calm voice. Turning to the girl, she figured she now knew what was happening on the rooftop, because that was hard to miss. Still, she waved a hello towards her too. |
