welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

A momentary flinch, a slight shift in the aether, and Esialeth knew she had made a mistake.
"Ah. You are allergic, then." She sighs. The flowers were so nice, too... "Daffodils, then. Those shouldn't set anything off."
She did not mention the jasmine, instead masking her aether-strings and allowing the soft scent of the delicate flower and springtime frost to fade.
Noticing the girl's fascination, Esialeth smiled kindly at the her. "Intriguing, is it not? Earth magic is ever so versatile. Too bad I can't summon gemstones..."
Esialeth's demeanor was certainly a strange one. Despite the whirlwind around her, she was barely moving at all; in fact, the only action she had made was to set down her luggage. Meanwhile, threads wound themselves around the thick rugs and curtains. What used to be monotone green was now accented with tasteful gold. The heavy curtains zoomed back onto their rods, darned with shimmering gold needlework.
What used to be a culmination of poor taste was now completely overhauled. The curtains were thrown back, and sunlight streamed into the common room. A small pot of daffodils sat at each of the larger tables, and the gold threads threw light into even the darkest corners.
"Well? Does this suit everyone's tastes?"

"I don't mind the new look at all." Kaname said to Esialeth. The hybrid was surprised by how much things had changed in such a short period of time. Now the dorm decor looked less artificial and a little more natural. Well, as natural as a dorm could look. She was sure that Morgan, Sharaku, and the others did not want the dorm to resemble a greenhouse or a jungle.
"You might wanna ask Morgan, Sharaku, and the others if they approve." Kaname suggested to Esialeth. Her Talent was an interesting and useful one with many potential applications. Kaname found herself wishing that her Talent was as versatile as Esialeth's.

It seemed that Sharaku was fine with the apology, although, it also seemed that he was hinting at something else, at the same time. Morgan was unsure what exactly that was, but he hoped that it wouldn't be the case, anymore. Especially now that an another person had joined them in the lobby. It seemed that Esialeth wanted to add plants to the lobby. The young man looked around. Did the lobby really need plant-life that desperately? Maybe. He only ever got roses thrown at him after a performance, so he couldn't really tell. However, it seemed that the newest person to join the trio was taking liking to Kaname.
Esialeth said something about earth magic, but Morgan was a bit too lost. What lost him even more was the almost instantenious change and amount of light that suddenly filled the room. Not that it was completely dark before, but there were curtains present, that were now folded up and pots of what seemed to be daffodils were present on tables. Esialeth then asked if it suited their tastes. Kaname seemed to be fine with it and pointed at him and Sharaku for approval. The young man would only shrug. "I mean, I didn't dislike the look before, nor now. I don't have a preference, myself. Just as I said, I dunno what the rules to doing a makeover to a dorm's lobby are." Morgan doubted that the Academy anticipated students doing interior redecoration activities on their own.

The Vamp Wolf | How did she come to that conclusion just from him questioning the plants he had no idea, though Sharaku would shrug. "Only if I were to eat them." Nevertheless, that didn't mean he was going to be super happy about plants that were to be permanently stuck in his living place, whatever kind they were. That, and he would say that Morgan had a point. Their own rooms sure, but the common areas? It was questionable as to whether any and all students were allowed to make larger changes on a whim like that. Without truly bothering to consult anyone, as a matter of fact. "I second that. Even if we can, I would say it's rather rude to just waltz in and make any bigger changes like you own the place. Asking before doing would have been more appropriate, and there is a bunch of students living in this dorm. If every other person who walked past decided to redecorate based on their desires, it would be pure chaos there, and changes happening every day." That was one of the main reasons why he hadn't made any move himself before, despite having sort of complained about the veggie green coloring. Yes, he had a personal opinion on the decor, but he certainly did not wish to draw big attention to himself by rearranging things without any mention, or permission to do so. It could get other students, and in a bad case scenario, school staff on his ass, and he wasn't the one to look for such wasteful trouble. People could always pitch together for a change petition or something after all.
He'd vaguely shrug again. "Well, I'm not in charge of this place anyhow. Though I would say that as flashy as your magic is, toning it down in appropriate situations is a thing. Hope no one gets on your ass for messing with the common areas just because." Say all he may, it wasn't his problem in the end. It'd be hers in case someone raised their voice about the decision they never had part in. Maybe someone would, maybe not. Only time would tell in regards to that. |

Kids these days. Getting all caught up with "rules" and "punishments" as if they hadn't seen a PhD-holding teacher drop-kick a student into a trash can.
"Should you have any complaints, let me know, because I don't really care, but the flowers will probably be gone after a week or two...those are finicky. Everything other than that was just opening windows and some embroidery." Esialeth paused, sensing their trepidation. "And don't worry about the staff. As long as no one's doing anything illegal, they aren't coming in here."
Warm golden eyes flicked to the nearby window, and she sighed. "Is anyone against a few party games? We should probably get to know each other."

"What kind of games are we talking about?" Kaname asked Esialeth. The idea was both interesting and concerning. It was interesting because playing games beat sitting around and having Golden Eyes snark at everyone all night. It was concerning because Kaname did not know how the staff would take to it. It was also up to her dormmates whether the games would begin or be shut down before they even started.

Morgan was glad that Sharaku seemed to have been thinking on the same page. He didn't think that either of them were too heavy on the rules, but it was different when it concerned an area where a large number of people have access to and is a vital piece of a dormitory. Esialeth, however, seemed to be a bit bent on the idea that they were hinting at complaints and suggesting they play party games to get to know each other. The young man would only hold up his hands, defensively. "I never said I was complaining. But whatevs." He would shake his head as he crossed his arms again.
That being said, Kaname asked about the types of games to play. Morgan himself had a good idea about which ones it could be, but if he had to be honest, he didn't feel exactly thrilled about that idea. Party games were good for breaking the ice, yes, but it was better with people one knows a little bit already, so that all the weird stuff would be revealed. Without too many awkward silences, possibly. "I dunno." The young man would say. "I would definitely have a few drinks, before thinking of participating in party games." He would share his angle on the question. He half expected Esialeth to say something about it being fine with them drinking in the lobby.

"Not that I'm against exploring one's preferences in a safe environment, because I would be sure to have you all drink responsibly, but I would advise against doing it now. It is only the afternoon. We should at least preserve the illusion of formality, should we not?" Esialeth's eyes twinkled with mirth. She cleared her throat. Years of solitude had left her at a loss as to what to suggest, so her mind automatically jumped to party games, but... She schooled her face into a neutral expression and looked at the others. "In any case, perhaps I was too rash. Something tamer, perhaps?"

The Vamp Wolf | He wouldn't consider that a complaint, but whatever floated the girl's boat. Even if it wasn't strictly about the rules, which she acted like she somehow knew so well despite being a newcomer herself, there still was the element of being considerate of others sharing this space who never got to offer any opinion due to not being present for this impromptu redecoration. He could have argued about the matter and all, but it would probably just win him a headache, and it appeared that the subject was being rapidly shifted instead anyway. Party games? Sharaku would frown mildly at the mention of that. Truthfully, he couldn't care less. He was pretty good at dealing with things without revealing what he did not wish to, so in a way, it would not be a bother to him, though on the other, some people did make these a hassle. Whether that would happen or not, he couldn't predict, but he did like preserving what he had left of his sanity, alright. Meh. He'd shrug. "I don't really care either way, though I'm not sure what kind of games can be played on spot right where we are right now." Maybe it was just because he wasn't particularly into social hang outs, but he had nothing in mind. Sure, there were board games and stuff like that, but they didn't have any of that either.
"Do I want to know why mentioning 'preferences' made it sound kind of sexual though?", he'd ask as an afterthought. He didn't seem bothered or anything, but apparently thought it was a good idea to ask. Really though, he hadn't followed that. Was that meant to be about alcohol preferences or what? He honestly was no genius when it came to typical party behavior and all that loud junk.

Bloom.
Flowers (preferably golden). A smile. A winter sunrise.
A headache.
Esialeth suddently felt very old. She wondered briefly if the situation could be salvaged, and if so, if she had the skill to.
She promptly decided that she did not. “Another time, perhaps. Maybe I can order some scones...”
She steeled herself again. Curious that she had been doing so almost continuously since she arrived...
“I’m quite familiar with the school in general. Ah...well, I know about pretty much everything except for the dorms. I’ll go unpack. Yell if you need anything.”
And with that, she safely removed herself from the conversation. Just as the old woman taught her to.

Kaname shrugged her shoulders. It looked like the party had been postponed for awhile. That was fine with her. She was not sure if she should drink. Even if she were of legal drinking age, giving her alcohol might not be a very good idea.
People already freaked out when she carried her sword, even if it was in its scabbard. She did not want to add any more fuel to the fire because people had already assumed the worst about her, that she was a psychopath waiting for a chance to bring out the sword and kill someone. Most of the students on campus were more powerful than she was, to say nothing of the faculty. There were two qualified combat instructors on staff who could easily hand Kaname her head on a platter. She did not understand why people worried so much about her.
If they wanted to live their lives in fear of something that would never happen, that was their right. Kaname would keep studying and growing in power while they fretted over nothing. She wanted as little to do with those kind of people as possible. "Well, what do we do now?" Kaname asked everyone.

Morgan would let out a little sigh. He wasn't exactly suggesting that they had to drink right then and there, but he was kind of at his wit's end. Not that he had much of it to begin with. That being said, he would rather go around the party games, for the time being. However, when Sharaku spoke up, he caught himself snorting at the second thing that he noted. Morgan didn't of that sentence in such a way, but now he surely did. Shortly after, the girl who joined then last, left as the first. The young man was at a bit of a loss as to what she meant exactly by the words that she said before leaving, but it was her decision to leave.
Kaname promptly questioned the next course of action. Morgan himself had no idea. "No idea here, really." He would say with a light shake of his head. "I came down here to check out what the lobby had to offer and possibly meet fellow dormmates." The young man would explain the reason as to why he came down to the lobby in the first place. "Maybe I will go check out the outside of the dorm a bit more? I dunno." He would think out loud as he stretched his back.
