welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The clock tower had barley finished its rhythm, notifying all that could hear of the time, fifteen minutes till ten o'clock. It was the first class that the Kirin was scheduled to teach, AS0429 Floral Studies had a variety of students surprisingly. He hadn't quite expected this many to sign up, as not only was the subject an odd one but he was not a well known Professor, having arrived on campus only a week earlier to get settled into things. A week had been plenty though, in that time he had converted one of the lecture rooms granted to him into quite the safe haven for plant lovers. perhaps if some budding young students sprouted up during the year he would get copies of the key made. Defiantly the door evaded his first attempt to unlock it, yet after a moment of awkwardly wiggling the key it gave way, opening into a room bathed in early morning sunlight. The students had been told that class started at ten, although that didn't mean that a few of them were likely to turn up early. He hoped a few of them would in fact, for many plots and planters sat around the room, hanging baskets trailing leaves and budding flashes of colour down from the ceiling, held up by little ropes. it was one of the smaller rooms for sure, the back room was cramped and there were no more than twenty seats. That being said he was no math professor needing to lecture to upwards of forty young and brilliant minds at a time. Fringe secured back by a headband and a golden tie to match, clean and white the shirt was pressed and matching blazer and pants of the deepest blue nearing black meant there was little that could be done to improve his professional appearance, this was after all the wrong class to be wearing a three piece suit, worrying over if a peak or notch lapel was more suited to the occasion. That and worrying over the colour of ones socks for many didn't realize the importance of socks and the wonderful accents of colour they gave to an outfit. Spilling out onto his desk at the front as he dumped it the males bag revealed many neatly written notes, calligraphy style handwriting depicting a class roster and among other things multiple copies of some plants. Brief sketches of little plants along with notes, the paperclip annoyingly enough had come loose, fallen away so the once straight pile had come apart during his walk. perhaps it was time to invest in the crocodile clips, this was only his second time teaching. Although the first job being in a setting that was less education based so his experience and knowledge was lacking. there was a class roll with about eight names on, of course in this class there was space for more yet the lesson plan was not built for a large class. Gosh did he have everything? "Please do come in." Words neatly spoken as he heard a sound at the door he dared not look up, running over the outline for the lesson once more. It would be a goof first lesson hopefully, teaching them about plants which healed and aided the wounded. It would be rather uncouth of him to jump straight into it with poisonous plants and how to extract the toxins, no, his muddled brain and anxious homesick mind would take it easy today. OOC: Late sign ups welcome here, either ic say you'd already signed up or just ask Lester.

Actually, Sususmu would very much appreciate if today's class covered toxins, because that's the only reason he signed up. Poisoncraft is part of his talent training, after all. He has no interest in prissy flowers or outdated herbs (medicine is for losers anyway), though he'll have to slough through those subjects in order to get to the interesting bits. That is, if the instructor doesn't kick him out first. The infernal blood he drips everywhere he goes can't be good for plant life.
The instructor invites him to enter from inside the classroom. Sususmu pushes open the door, feeling immediately out of place among the lively flowers and herbs and succulents, the prim human (or at least, shapeshifted) instructor with the gentle smile. This isn't the sort of classroom a half-demon like him should be in.
"Sususmu," he mumbles by way of introduction, self-conscious of the blood he's tracking over the floor as he takes the seat closest to the door.

Ariya came waltzing in, and her brown eyes lit up at how beautiful the classroom was, which looked more like an indoor garden. She was definitely going to enjoy this class. Of course, she was going to have to study hard enough to insure this class was a worthwhile part of her goal to graduate with as much high school-level stuff done as possible.
Ariya looked down at the floor and noticed some red blots. Was this blood? Ariya wasn't immediately sure. She saw her first classmate of this class, and noticed he had a lot of red stuff on him that most definitely looked like blood. This guy didn't look like he was in any pain though. Maybe he was of a race that was supposed to have blood on them? She wasn't sure of that either, but decided not to judge, although it might explain the red blots on the floor. The guy probably just walked on in, and drip drop drip. Ariya hoped the teacher would see this and ask this guy to clean it up.
Ariya looked over at the teacher, and decided that she should at least tell him her name so he wouldn't have to ask later. "Um, hi mister. Um, my name is Ariya Vuldotter." she said, a bit awkwardly. She chose a seat in the front that was two seats away from the blood-covered guy, and got out her notebook and pencil. She then hung her bag on her chair, and sat down, waiting for class to start.

{ } Holding his messenger bag strap close to his chest, the rather casual idol would make his way to the class that he was scheduled to. His beanie was bobbing up and down as briskly walked to the class while checking his watch. Okay, there was still time. He didn't really want to be late to this class in all honesty. He wanted to get knowledge on different types of flowers so that he knew what could potential hold meaning in his next M/V and what exactly he should steer clear from for toxicity. It's a rather vain reason to take the class but you honestly wouldn't catch him dead doing another science or even another math. The more classes where he actually enjoyed the subject material, the better. Casually opening the door, the young idol would adjust his glasses as they had gotten a little bit crooked while running in. Straightening out his red and black plaid shirt while looking at his combat boots made him think that he might have dressed wrong for the course. However, as long as they weren't doing fieldwork right away, it should be fine. Glancing at the floor, the idol would raise an eyebrow as he saw droplets of what could have potentially be blood decorating the floor. Not the weirdest thing that he has seen so he casually stepped over the trail and walked into the classroom. Smiling as he walked in, his eyes would meet the source of the blood drip but he seemed to notice it as well and it looked like it was somewhat out of his control. Oh well, might as well just not mention it. There was also a girl with brown eyes who seemed somewhat eager to be in the class as well. Turning his attention to the teacher, the teenager would look at the teacher with a little bit of a smirk. Walking over to the desk, the brunette would realize that he had to say his real name since it's the one he registered under. "Ah, Mister Sakuramori, it says that my name is Jiho Yoon there, correct? Please feel free to call me Jin." Despite his teacher's last name, Jin probably didn't realize that his teacher could have potentially been from Hisakawa and as a result, can correctly pronounce his name. That's to be expected of the young half incubus though. He is known for his looks and not his brains after all. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Whistling gleefully, a man probably too old for the class strolled along, twirling his audio recorder around an uplifted index finger. It was how he would take notes, since he couldn't read and definitely wanted to remember the things his friend would teach him. Being out and about around the world inside ruins, dank caves, and old battle grounds had earned him more than a bump and scrape. If he'd known what plants could have helped him in his time of injuries, life would have been a lot easier. And while he was usually the one making decisions that made it tough, if he could make it easier, he'd do it.
Though he was ever observant of his surroundings, his daydreams had gotten the best of him. Theo didn't notice the bloody smears on the smooth floor leading to and inside the classroom. His mind was imagining Lester mashing various exotic plants into pastes and nasty-tasting healing potions look with all the grace of an etherial deer, the vivid concoctions bending effortlessly to the delicate fingers that plied them. To be honest, it looked more like an artist making paints for a masterwork painting, but that was neither here nor there. The point was, it was glamorous and mostly unrealistic, and definitely had his entire attention.
"Leste--OOF!"
Just as he stepped in the doorway and threw up his hand in mirthful greeting, the sole of his boot contacted just enough of the sanguine substance to throw his balance. The offending foot went one way while the rest of him toppled another, all ending in a swift trip for his butt to the hard ground. He winced a little, rolling pitifully a few times as his bottom smarted, but ultimately he'd endured much more pain than this. It was the surprise that threw him for a loop. Preparing to get up, frosty hues glared pointedly at the offending substance, only to notice how blood-like it was. Not blood like, but actual blood. Eyes widening, he scrambled up to stare at his friend and instructor. "Le- Er, Mr. Sakuramori!" he exclaimed, at least managing to correct the man's proper title in front of the other students. "Do your mixtures require human sacrifice?!" he gasped in horror, overreacting and jumping to the furthest flung conclusion, which of course was the first thing in his mind. "Am I late to class already?? Oh man!"

Crishendia pondered what was going on when seeing some blood smears on the floor. As she moved towards her class, she noted the stains was leading the same way. What was going on? Her attention was grasped by the stains, but shaking her head, she checked if she was still going the right way while wandering onward. As she wondered if someone got hurt or something, she noted ahead the classroom with a person flailing through the doorway. The stains actually led inside as she walked towards it and heard the man that had been at the doorway, wasn't that the Exploration teacher? asking if he was late for class.
The angel wondered if she was having class with one of her actual teachers here. This seemed a bit odd as she walked inside and made a small bow towards man Theo had spoken towards, "I am Crishendia," after her small introduction, she started to move towards a seat. Checking where the blood had come from, it seemed to be the person nearest to the door as she then moved towards the seat behind Sususmu and took place.

it was high time for the first class that Morgan was supposed to attend. He woke up a little bit earlier, to make sure that he had enough time for the morning bathroom routine and choosing an outfit for himself. After he was done with his routine, the young man put on the clothes of his choice - green jeans and a black t-shirt with a white lightweight hoodie thrown over it. He had already packed his things into his messenger bag the evening before, so he only filled up a bottle with water, if he happened to feel thirsty. As soon as he was ready, he left his dorm for the class.
Morgan was still very much a newcomer to the school, but it was really well laid out and marked, so he had no issues with finding the desired classroom. Especially since he was sort of following a trail of a blood-like fluid. He hoped it was not actual blood, as he neared the classroom that he needed to go to. Once he stood in the door, he saw one of the most colourful of a gathering of people he had seen. That was to say something, as he did perform in front of many sorts of audiences. With a little shake of his head the young man would step inside and shut the door behind him. He would pass by the professor's desk with a wave of his hand. "Morgan." He would mutter his name and take a seat to be far enough from the rest of the class, so that his aura would not bother them in their own scholarly adventure.

There are flowers in the tundra if you know where to look. Atiqtalik fondly remembers summers at her tribe, brief periods of sunlight that melted frost and opened buds. She would gather her little siblings up—goodness, it was as if a new one popped up every year—and taught them names: bog rosemary, arctic white heather, alpine azaleas. And moss, of course, acres and acres of it, beautiful if you appreciate it the right way.
Thinking about this is making her homesick. Bundled in her winter clothing as always, Atiqtalik makes her way toward the classroom, at one point realizing that she's following a trail of blood. Has someone been injured? She frets about it all the way to the classroom, wherein the instructor, a motley group of students, and a teacher making a fuss about something or other are scattered. The source of the blood, she realizes, is some sort of demonic creature seated by the door. He seems none too concerned about it, so he's probably not hurt. Right?
Deciding not to worry about it for now, she steps gingerly over the blood trail and bows her head to the instructor. "I'm Atiqtalik," she says, before approaching a seat next to a kitsune girl.

The clock chimed it's rhythm and she was walking incredibly fast wishing she was some other species that could actually sprint swifter than humans like herself were capable of. This was the first class she was at risk of being on time for! Clearly as established by prior trend, the teenager disliked being on time it was early or nothing for the long haired girl, but she may not make it this time. She did indeed arrive before the second bell, yet it was not early enough for a slight scowl momentarily on her face as she shuffled to wherever she could find to sit, sighing softly. Why did she have to be anything but especially early to class, she'd be getting less out of it now! For once she really didn't know most of her peers expect the part Kitsune girl, though she supposed Theo counted too but he was a teacher. Silently she waited for class to start scrambling to get her notebooks and such in place so she could be perfectly prepared to learn.

He hadn't expected all of his students to come out of the same mould, cookie cutters with long blond straight hair, or a traditional teenage boy cut which was shaggy and long. Yet after even his years of travel there were things which surprised him, and intrigued him. Could he be the professor knowledge? Teaching everyone how to learn more and gathering information, moulding their minds to tug and pull at strings until the ball unrolled, spilling its secrets into your palms. This was one such moment, a banquet of ideas, information thoughts and emotions, his mind was active once again, a frenzy of exchanges and changes. All caused by a simple student entering the classroom looking like no creature he had laid eyes on before. With a bird like beak as a face bright red blood seeped out from behind it, he hadn't looked up at first until the student had spoken his name. Sususmu, Su-su-smu the bloody bird boy. It sounded like a rather horrid thing to think yet he had trouble remembering names sometimes, "Ah, welcome. You're a little early but don't worry about it, choose a desk and get set up.. That goes for you so Ms Vuldotter." Two students down, both of them seemed a little quiet, the second more awkward than the first who was just reserved. Perhaps she was only awkward due to the floor decorations, he would have to clean that up in a moment. Yet the thought slipped his mind as the male once more dove back into his bag of teaching materials to retrieve an array of eleven whiteboard markers for the board behind him. They varied in shades yet he mourned the loss of a light blue marker, for it had gone missing on his second day here.
Night and Day. Ocean and Desert. There were many contrasts which existed in his land, the starkness of jungle bound avian species compared to that of the earthy and camouflage toned wild mice. They also existed in personalities, Juho Yoon and Theo Silversong, neither of which he disliked, Theo who he held in close regard as perhaps, a friend. Juho entered as one might expect a student to, when a young child thinks of college students he was likely to come to mind, quiet and polite attitude, respecting and respectable in both manner and attire the bag at his side hinting that he was well prepared for the lesson ahead. "Mr Yoon, well, Jin it is. Please correct me if I ever slip up." With fluid pronunciation the brief letters of 'Jin' were marked next to the bearers legal name. He would likely have to be doing that a lot, noting down notable characteristics or pronunciations lest he make a fool of himself. Speaking of, he stumbled in, familiar tracksuit slightly dusty from the slip which he had endured. Theo was one of the more ah, relaxed faculty members around, the ages of the two dark haired professors couldn't have been much different so there was something in the other man which kept him amused and interested. "Mister Silversong" With a raised brow and a slight chuckle he made an effort to calm the other. "Fear not, the class does not require human sacrifices. Not of your life although I suppose you could call this a sacrifice of your time. Class has not started, another, five to ten minutes I guess." There was not a clock within view yet he figured it wouldn't be long.
The ink settled quickly as the names were broken down into their phonetic spelling, indicating how the two students in question had introduced themselves. Atiqtalik and Chrishendia had both been named which were rolled around in his mind multiple times due to their rather odd spelling on paper, yet now he had a sound to match with it. "Welcome take a seat you two, and Morgan, it is nice to meet you all I'm Lester Sakuramori, Professor Sakuramori or Mister Sakuramori during class times would be preferable." With a side glance at the floor he moved a stack of home made booklets forward to the side of his desk. Hand made with care, two pages for today. well the first copy was hand made and the others were copied. "Could a student or two please hand these notes out to everyone? I'll just clean this up. It can also act as a lesson I suppose." His talent awoke, a vine plant close to the door started to grow, its leaves growing larger and root tendrils snaking towards the red pools of blood on the floor which had started to stagnate. Hungrily with aid from the Kirin the plant started to absorb the blood, an odd phenomenon yet not unheard of for the process was the same as absorbing water, simply sped up by his talent. "Blood used infrequently can act as a good fertiliser for plants, you see Plasma makes up about fifty five percent of blood, and ninety five percent of plasma is water. Ontop of that blood does contain three main nutrients that plants adore, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Although it is important not to over fertilise your plants too often, I would recommend about once a month for plants similar to this vine." It had finished drinking, colour slightly darker than before the vine shrunk back to its natural size, revitalised by the powers which had been channelled through it and the fresh nutrients. "Before we start learning about healing plants, and while these notes are handed out are there any questions?" A little more centred, he felt relaxed and calmer than when he had first awkwardly tried to unlock the door to this room

Rumiko walked in a slow path toward her first class. A class that as she heard was about floral studies, a topic she never heard of. So she wanted to start learning. But how could it be of use for her? She wasn't sure, but trying wouldn't hurt her in any way or that was what the girl hoped. The girl was now in human form, which covered parts of her pale face. Blue eyes adorned it giving a nice contrast in terms of hues. With fear, enters the classroom and without making eye contact with those who arrived earlier than her, sits in the furthest desk she could find. The less contact the better for her. She decided to stay in silence trying to don't bring the attention from the others. So without saying anything focuses on the Lessons.

How that he was calmer and had recovered from his spill, he turned his eyes on the seated students. Grinning, he waved at the ones he knew from his own class he offered, noting that it may be weird to take a class with your teacher, but he didn't think much of it beyond that. It wasn't like he would be competing with them for top of class. In fact, without an enrolled transcript, grades didn't matter at all to the niffler. He was simply here to learn some valuable knowledge to aid him in his travels.
Choosing a seat closest to the door out of instinctual habit to have a quick escape route, Theo sat down and hastily got ready for class. All that required was mumbling into the mic of his audio recorder about the blood-eating plants and then placing it on the table for easy access. He brought no pen and paper, and even displayed some discomfort as the booklets were handed out. After receiving one himself, he pretended to look it over, as if he could actually read. See, that was the problem here. It wasn't that he feared pen and paper, but that he couldn't read anything on it. It seemed like the letters just jumbled, not registering at all to his brain. Too long without oxygen could do that. Once of his closer dances with death had robbed him of his ability to read a good number of years ago, and he was still ashamed about it. Surely his students had wondered why he required no note taking supplies, only an audio recorder for homework and such. What good would it do to give them normal written assignments if he was unable to grade it?
Letting his mind wander from that unpleasant topic, his brows perked up in question. "Oh! Will we ever receive cool plants to care for ourselves?"

The last of the attendees seemed to have arrived and the class promptly started by the teacher adressing every passing student and handing out a set number of booklets. Even Morgan got his own welcome, to which he only hastily nodded his head. He was hoping that his aura was not reaching anyone, as he took out his notebook and a pencil. In any case, he was very much ready for his first class at the Academy. Lester, or rather, Professor Sakuramori seemed to have noticed the blood-like substance that was near the entrance to the classroom. Morgan could only assume that it was from that strange being that was sitting down near the door. The young man couldn't exactly see who or what kind of being it was from his angle, so he couldn't really form an opinion. Perhaps it was the way he simply was, nothing more to it. In any case, the professor decided to give them a more practical showcase of the power of plants, by summoning a plant near the door that sucked up the now confirmed blood. Morgan didn't want to be rude, but he hoped that he didn't have any stains from it anywhere. It would take forever to wash out.
The professor explained the relationship between the plants and blood, as he basically cleaned up the area near the entrance to the classroom. Morgan opened his notebook and wrote down a few bullet points that he deemed as the most important pieces of information as the last of the booklets reached him and briefly skimmed over its contents as a question rang from one of the seats near the entrance to the classroom. Something about the attendees using plants themselves. It sounded like a pretty cool idea, but Morgan didn't know if it would benefit him. The demonic flames would most likely engulf them without hesitation. He decided to stay quiet to see what the professor would answer, unless he was picked out to speak up for one reason or another.

Theo seemed to be enthusiastic enough, that was good at least. He could always go over the content later on with his friend, after all there was nothing like a Sunday brunch and revision. "Yes, although they'll start off being more ah, simple plants so you don't jump straight into the deep end and wind up killing some greenery." He would have to think further on that, perhaps start off with a type of aloe plant, that was both useful and incredibly easy. Perhaps too easy? No matter, "Alright, if there are any questions feel free to chime out! The notes in front of you will have pictures of the plant as well as some basic information but feel free to take your own notes, in um, whatever format you want." He sounded awkward, perhaps it was from seeing a students notes book a few days ago for math. Instead of using a traditional blue or black pen she had used a neon purple, decorated the page with glittering stickers and written lyrics of songs in the margins. The dark haired male failed to see how anyone could study properly with notes like that, however it was of little concern to him.
A neat bookshelf a few steps away was filled with riled up paper, kept in containers the ends were marked in tiny writing with what they were. Dandelion, the plant so often stepped on, ripped out of garden lawns or plucked up by small children. As he spoke the professor started to unroll the school, sticking the large drawing of a dandelion onto the board behind him. Oh they thought this would be a simple lesson? plants were so much more in depth than they knew. "Let me start off by saying that if you are ill or sick you should make sure to get to a doctors when you can. But sometimes you won't be near a civilization, so lets start with the golden child Dandelion. Starting with the roots, dandelion roots are often added to teas and stews, not eaten directly. they work to detoxify your body, so those of you who enjoy the night life and come back to the dorms a little hung over I suggest having dandelion tea. Along with cleansing your body of alcohol, drugs and toxins it can aid with balancing your blood sugars, cholesterol levels and high blood pressure. If you squish it into a pulp the root can be good for eczema, acne and rashes." That was quite the long speel. Perhaps this was too boring of a one to start with, that being said teenagers mostly thought about drugs, alcohol and acne so in that way it was perfect.
"Eat the leaves. They are bitter, quite a big change from the sugar that I do not doubt you're always surrounded with. mainly they clear your skin, helps majorly with digestion and will reduce sugar cravings. If you are tired or stressed for class in the mornings then they are even better, because the leaves calm and relax your nervous system. Just one or two leaves every hour though, please do not overload your body." Likely there would be some fool who was stressed for exams, eat an entire bucket of them and end up shocking their body. Eating too much of anything was bad.
The flowers were pretty, well he couldn't just give that as a reason but honestly dandelions were actually more useful than many people realized. "Dandelion flowers can be used whole or turned into oil. The oil can be rather good for massaging into your muscles before and after exercise as well as if you are injured. This superb plant can be used as a tasty snack. Eat fresh, not dried for the best benefits. Dandelions contain nutrients such as potassium which many people are deficient in." That had all been a lot of information over a couple of minutes, so he gave them a moment to breath, finish up any notes and collect their thoughts. "We can move on to the next plant if everyone is feeling okay with it, is there anyone with a specific plant they want to know about? If not we can move onto Aloe where I'll give you a small potted aloe vera pup and teach you about how not to kill one of the most basic plants to care for. perhaps following that you would like to hear about the benefits of marijuana when used correctly" That would have gotten a few heads turned, he was finding this just a little amusing, was this how teaching was supposed to go? Did he just talk to the air for an hour and hope that the students took something in.

{ } Nodding as Lester spoke his nickname, the young idol would smile gently as he walked over to his seat. Apparently in that time, there was a lot of different things that were taking place. The brunette turned his head when the Floral Studies teacher asked a student to hand out the booklets, but at that point, the young man was already at his desk ready to take notes from the booklet that was handed to him. Sitting down in the seat next to the other teacher in the classroom, the brunet would take his pencil case out of his messenger bag and opened it, revealing a lot of supplies for calligraphy as well as note taking. The young man's logic with this was that maybe if he was able to make his notes look pretty, he'd be able to study from them better knowing how much time it took for him to do them. Skimming through the booklet with a bit of haste, the brunet's attention would now turn to his teacher who was actually talking about one of the first plants in the booklet which was the dandelion. In all honesty, Jin's attention faded in and out and he only came back when he realized that he wasn't giving his complete attention to his teacher. He felt somewhat bad about it but it was just hard to keep his attention long in all honesty, so classes were usually a struggle for him. Looking at the information about dandelions on his booklet, the idol would place a star after a sentence he wrote about the leaves being able to help clear skin and reduce sugar cravings. Perhaps he could just use it as a meal substitute. That'd be perfectly healthy. Right? Oh, the entire flower could apparently be used and it wasn't just a pretty plant. That worked out lovely. Almost made the young man want to pick his own dandelions in all honesty. But, there was a time and a place for everything so that wasn't meant for now. Jin would continue to copy down his notes until Professor Sakuramori mentioned something along the lines of wanted to know about a specific plant. Oh, considering his next comeback, he was already playing around with having flowers be a big theme, but this gave him the perfect opportunity to ask. "Ah, would you be able to tell us information we might not know about roses? Just curious because I've always wanted to know more about them." A rather innocent smile would decorate the face of the young halfling as his mind grasped the idea that they'd be getting their own aloe pup when they discuss aloe. Was Jin ready to be a flower father? Or in this case, a potted plant parent? Was he going to get enough natural sunlight in his dorm? This was such an intense topic that the young man almost felt overwhelmed, mainly due to all the questions that he was asking himself. The bit about marijuana didn't really influence him because he wasn't allowed to smoke or even drink alcohol in general. There was intense guidelines given to him by RE, so for the time being, he was rather restricted in celebrating his life at night. Most things could be celebrated with cake, or with his newfound knowledge, maybe he could turn over a new leaf and start snacking on dandelion leaves. MADE BY VEL OF GS
