welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

❀ CHARACTER INFORMATION ❀ Name: 7 Alias: Syv Gender: Female Age: Chronologically 5; physically and mentally adult Occupation: Faculty: Math and Art Height: 5’4” Appearance:Personality:While young in the sense of how much time she's physically been breathing, 7 functions as any adult would in most cases. She has learned the common tongue of the land to a near expert degree, while also knowing a few other dialects and languages just as well. She is well learned in most common knowledge and even some advanced studies and skills. The maker made sure 7 and others like her had every opportunity to be what would be useful and powerful, from knowledge to combat prowess. 7 is basically pre programmed with useful things and perfectly able to learn even more. All that said, 7 is a morally blank slate. The concepts of good and evil are utterly trivial to her, which is how she was made to be. She operates on the instinct of being useful to someone, regardless of their motives and goals. It's a primal need that drives her, be it healthy or no. This leads to struggles with inferiority and anxiety, especially if it is clear someone is being more useful to her user than she is capable of being. That said, unless another user is found that she can serve best, she will train and study in any area she is lacking to try and become what is necessary to be the "sharpest blade" so to speak. She views herself as nothing more than a tool or weapon, and tools and weapons that aren't useful are discarded. Nothing in the world could be worse than that to 7. Despite her imposed quirks, 7 has managed to develop a small bit of individuality. She's a mature and stoic type, emotions often hidden under a blank mask and honest words. She's a thoughtful soul, preferring to use logic and reason for things before she speaks or acts most of the time. This lends well to strategizing, which she isn't half bad at. That said, she's not an emotionless stone face. 7 is able to display some, they are just more muted unless they are overwhelming her to the point of breaking. Since she usually is subdued, it seems her mode of expression is through fashion and song. Her moods and desires drip like honey from her vocal cords, and the playful moments of dress up she was deprived of from having no childhood seem to crop up in her choice of dress, which can get quite out of hand at times. Never being a child has taken its toll on her psyche, however. While she functions as a normal person in most ways, despite the quirks, sleep has always eluded her. 7 can't wrap her mind around it, and though it is necessary, the process is unpleasant and even terrifying. Without the experience with imagination and make-believe as a basis for understanding, her nonsensical dreams are confusing and scary, and that's the "good" ones! Nightmares become terrors! The whole process has lead to avoidance, which means when she's been awake for quite a while she'll begin to get sloppy in her movements until eventually her body forces her to do what she is unwilling to. Concerning any combat or task at hand, 7 is fierce and laser focused. She's no-nonsense and does whatever needs to be done to accomplish the objective. As long as she's been given direction and a side to fight on, she'll continue on until the objective is met, she's physically disabled, or she is called off. Only once her directive has been met can 7 take it easy. While on occasion she does make assumptions in the lack of a clear mission, these actions will be what is in the best interest of her user, be it helpful or misguided. As a whole the girl doesn't make many decisions for herself, and as such would be a non-functioning and completely useless leader. In a combat scenario much like in her general daily life, she feels most comfortable while following someone else, and grows confused and stressed if a user is not present. Likes:❀ Being useful - She doesn't have any of the worries if she's serving someone well enough. ❀ Ornate dresses - When originality isn't an emphasis instilled in someone, it can crop up organically and there's no stopping it, no matter how weird it can be. ❀ Food - Another sign of her developing individuality despite her reliance on others, 7 knows what foods she likes and is vocal about what she wants and when. Dislikes:❀ Anxiety - The maker's plans and curriculum have been strict and rigid from the start, exposing 7 to an environment prime to breed the nervous disorder. Panic attacks make her feel weak and vulnerable and even less in control, which compounds the issue. ❀ Aimlessness - Not knowing which way to go, what the mission is, or who her user will be is hard to deal with for someone like 7. ❀ Sleep - REM sleep and all the mental activity associated with it is far too unfamiliar and vivid for her to comprehend without ever being a child, so she avoids it to limit the fearful visions. That doesn't mean that sleep doesn't take her by force at times, though. Motivations:❀ Being useful - Her primary directive is to be effective and helpful like a tool or weapon at someone's disposal. ❀ Being irreplaceable - To be exactly what someone needs to the point of never having to worry. ❀ Being enough - More of an abstract concept, her subconscious search to just be enough and fine how she is as a person is probably her most driving force yet more elusive than the others to achieve. It's sad because this motivation is probably the most simple, but the conditions of her beginning years has made it the hardest to realize and actualize, due to the extensive mental reprogramming it would take. Fears:❀ Decommissioning - The threat her maker has used since the beginning to drive her to always be better. Essentially failure of purpose that forces retirement or death. ❀ Inadequacy - What if she fails to fulfill her most basic purpose? Being insufficient for a purpose no matter how hard she tries is highly stressful. ❀ Inferiority - If everyone is a more useful tool than her, then what's the point of existing? History: TBD ❀ SPECIES INFORMATION ❀ CYBERNETIC CLONE Name of Species: Cybernetic Clone
Baseline Dimension: Clones are made to look virtually identical to average humans and in most cases age like them as well, though generally they are much more healthy.
Baseline Appearance: Generally clones are meant to blend in with the average human in nearly every way, but are open to quirky customizations. Between scientists being able to tweak DNA and adding cybernetic upgrades to meld with human flesh in the cloning process, clones can be as average as the girl next door to a hulking man with visible circuits in the skin that glow and mechanical camera lens-like eyes. For the most part a clone is just where a human body is created and enhanced by science and technology in a variety of ways.
Culture/Origin of Species: Beginning as an effort to breed the perfect soldier for the Mistere military, in the last forty years cybernetic cloning has become more widely accepted and has earned its place as one of the newest recognized species. There was a time when said clones were frowned upon in society as unnatural abominations with no souls, but that belief is nowhere near as prevalent as it once was. While there are still scientists out there that may have less than altruistic intentions in the cybernetic clone field, just as many are good souls trying to solve problems the best way they know how.
First generation clones themselves are an obedient and task driven species, often developed en masse fully grown in a lab and then intensely trained and educated to fulfill their purposes. This doesn't leave much time for exploring the complicated subject of feelings, often leaving them emotionally stunted. They are highly intelligent and book smart, but often lack "common sense" and the subtle nuances of humanity. By the time they are released from the lab they can function in the world, albeit a bit awkwardly until they develop their more human natures out among other humans.
Many clones have started families, leading to second generation 'clones' and hybrids. While the offspring might not be a clone by definition, the altered DNA and organic cybernetics of one or both parents can be passed on genetically. Children may not have the same emotional hardships first generation clones have depending on how they are raised, but they will still likely retain a task oriented, helpful attitude.
Traits: • Harder: Created with near perfect bodies cybernetically enhanced, their skin contains a mesh like component that make them tougher to damage. They get +1 to resilience aspect. • Better: Inherently good with technology of all types. • Faster: Created with near perfect bodies cybernetically enhanced and trained, they operate at peak speeds. They get +1 to speed aspect. • Stronger: Created with near perfect bodies cybernetically enhanced and trained, they hit harder and are able to lift heavier things. They get +1 to strength aspect.
Flaws: • If You say Gullible Slowly, It Sounds Like Orange: Yes, very gullible. • Programmable: Most clones were made with a purpose in mind, and scientists wish for them to be loyal and obedient either on their own or by force. This also means through various methods, their primary directives can be altered by others.
