Name of Talent: Warden of Souls
Concept: The Warden of Souls is a ritually made talent, focusing on the innate abilities of a newborn and crafting them into something much more potent. A religious group that fears for the souls of all as the future moves on, and a fear that the light and flames of the universe are what will cause the impending end, believes that these wardens are what will save every soul in the universe when the time comes. They only select those they sense those they feel will be able to bear the burden at birth, at times even against the will of the parents, and craft them into the desired container for the souls that gravitate towards them. They are a retainer for souls, a living afterlife, and any soul can choose to enter the chalice and life there eternally rather than the afterlife normally awaiting them. These souls do not affect the talent holder in a negative way, the sould unable to do much more than protect their life after death so that they are not lost completely, and thus the religious idol is kept safe from harm because of it.
Being raised with these beliefs, they do not think to go against it.
Extra(s): N/A (Maybe some in the future)
Positive Mechanics:
* The Warden of Souls is able to manipulate the soul of each person around them, for good or bad, and is able to give a +/- 1 to an aspect of their choice to each individual nearby.
* The Warden is telepathic and can speak to the minds of others rather than the ears. Those she communicates with in this way are able to respond back in kind if they focus on doing such. This also allows them to speak to the dead, the disembodied, and those that normally can not speak.
* The Warden, although they can no longer physically see, is able to sense the souls of others. This keeps them from bumping into people as well as able to interact with the world at large.
* As a manipulator of souls, the warden is able to evict possessing spirits, including from themselves.
* The Warden is able to pull the souls that they have collected and force them into the body of something that once contained a soul. This allows them to use it as a puppet, no matter the condition it is in. Souls can be put into inanimate objects that never carried souls, but it only traps the souls there for later use.
* With physical contact, the warden can seal a soul and remove their access to any talents or powers they have for a time. (ooc permission for played characters)
* The holder of this talent is able to treat the incorporeal as if they were corporeal. This includes any equipment they may have on their person.
* The souls collected inside of them are able to be used as a shield or as a weapon to protect themselves and attack.
* Should the Warden's body ever be failing, they are able to move their own soul to share a body with another. They do not gain control, they simply act as a passenger until their body is saved or a new body is open for them to gain control of. (A body like their own must be prepared through magic and ritual, else the powers are lost and the second negative mechanic occurs with the original body.)
* The user is able to erect barriers that bar any other than the user and those that they allow to go through.
* The souls within protect the host as well, doing what they must should the warden not be able to react in time.
* The warden can appear as a bright beacon to those that can see souls, or sense them, or they can withdraw the souls deeper into themselves and seem to be as one without a soul.
Negative Mechanics:
* With great power comes a great cost, the ritual done at birth removes the eyes. The warden is blind their entire life.
* The souls of the unclaimed are focused inside of the talent holder. In the event of a death that cannot be avoided, these souls will erupt outward in a catastrophic explosion.
* Creatures without a soul are simply invisible to the Warden and are at the mercy of their other senses to try and deal with them.
* The Warden is unable to destroy a soul completely.
