welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Julius felt strangely invigorated. It was most likely caused by the fact that he had become a teacher, despite his age. /"Goes to show that achievements are important, not your age."/ He thought to himself amusedly as he unpacked his things. He was housed at the Academy's grounds, in a section for the faculty. Julius could have chosen to live at his house and just commute, but he read that the Academy had a library and he was looking forward to exploring its collection.
It took him a few days to sort out all of the paperwork for his classes and newfound teaching profession, along with his spot as a librarian. After those few days, Julius found himself entering the library in the morning, for his shift. His classes were still not in session, as he was waiting for students to sign up, so he had plenty of time to see the collection. He had everything explained to him about the system in place in the library already, so he sat down behind the counter. The young man shuffled through the drawers and various papers that were scattered around. There was nothing too interesting written down and there was still a bit of time until the library was supposed to open. "Sounds like the perfect time to look for some books."
Soon after, Julius was sitting down behind the counter once more. This time, however, he had a couple of books on a drawer set near him and one book in his hands. There was a smile on his lips as he flipped through the pages. In the time he had been looking for the books, the library was fully opened for students to come by. Julius felt a bit guilty about hoping that nobody would come by for a while, so that he could finish reading the book he had in his hands.

[attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]words [attr="class","gold"]notes ulla [attr="class","sun"]A Foreign Sun * I never thought I'd see Another day another battle with the sun rousing her of her peaceful slumber. The girl’s lack of improvement towards her half-hearted attempts and veering her disposition as a none morning person to one is near impressive in how she lacked any form of improvement in her attempts. She wasn’t all that invested in it to begin with. There was just no way in her mind she was going to enjoy the idea of having to move out of her comfy duvets so early in the damn morning.
Particularly now, the girl’s soured mood only gained a further foot hold when she realized by checking her schedule for the day that she could have gotten extra sleep in her belt. Two hours, that’s how much she lost. She didn’t have a particularly good reason to be up, aside from mistaking a few classes for the one she needed and the one she promptly avoids for good reason.
Today’s early morning class was towards talent training. For a girl who was well invested in keeping her talents under strict lock and key. Attending such a class would not only risk her secret but also her ruse in pretending to have no talent in the first place.
Sure it wasn’t smart to skip needed training but for the child she prioritize hiding it instead of showing the world reasons to probably kill her. She shivered at the thought, like ice being drenched straight into her spine as she shuddered at the numerous devilish ideas entering through her mind.
Relax, she told herself in a mantra. Repeating the words until she corrected her breathing back into its serene state.
Since it was so early in the morning the girl…found herself in a slight conundrum. Sleeping was out of her range as she doubted, she would be so willing to leave her warm bed once she gets a second chance at it. So that led to plan number two.
The area where her feet led her in, the library. If she cant sleep, then productivity is the next thing on her long mental list of things to do for the day. Catching up on school work and preparations for the next class. The girl mentally started listing the ‘chores’ needed to be done right before she even stared at the list of classes she was being too ambitious in signing in. Believe me, it’s a damn long list indeed.
“Morning.” The girl greeted on instinct at the aged libraria---
Wait… something was somewhat different with the picture.
One… the lack of said aged old librarian. Unless the man suddenly downed fountain of youth potion without her distinct knowledge then the younger looking gentleman in place of the elder senior clearly they weren’t the same person if they are.. Then she would have done plan two. Stare at him with a straight face and accept that not everything has to be logical.
“Oh, you’re not the regular custodian… Konichiwa.” She softly greeted, adopting her well mannered mask as she smiled softly before turning back to head to her intended target. Those large shelves filled with books were calling for her and that’s exactly where she headed and soon enough, she was settled right into one of numerous desk and chairs around the library. Head buried in one of the larger tomes while a stack sat right next to her. So much…for having a social life.

Julius flipped through a few more pages, before the shameful hope dissipated and the library's door were pushed open. With a little sigh, the young man closed the book, right after he double-checked the page number on which he had stopped. The person in question that entered seemed to a be girl, who looked like she could be very well be Julius' peer and most likely was. At least within the context of his own race, he was an adult, even if he didn't look like it. The girl greeted him, but stopped short, seemingly because Julius was not whom she had expected. "Hello." Julius would greet her back, before she took off for the bookshelves. The young man was slightly disappointed, but he felt like it couldn't be helped. With a little shrug he would continue reading the book he had been reading just a few moments before.
The young man flipped through a few more pages, until a foreign piece of paper fell out from between them. It was green, with black writing on it. The cursive was sort of hard to decipher, but Julius figured that it was a list of books. He was intrigued by the list, intrigued enough to want to see what the books were about. /"I could use some practice when it comes to finding particular books, anyway."/ He thought to himself with a small smile and stood up with the paper in his hand.
The search took him in between the bookshelves and it proved to be a little bit more difficult than he had anticipated. Julius was trying his best to avoid the section of the library where the girl went to, but it was the last place that he hadn't checked out yet. With quiet steps he entered the aisle in question. The bookshelves lined the sides and the middle was taken by numerous tables and chairs. One of the tables was occupied, presumably by the girl from earlier. As quietly as he could, Julius scanned the numerous spines that sprawled in front of him, looking for the books from the list.

[attr="class","foreign"] [attr="class","dust"] [attr="class","gold"]words [attr="class","gold"]notes ulla [attr="class","sun"]A Foreign Sun * I never thought I'd see So much for socializing with her peers. People her age just didn’t click in well with her. Probably because of the awkwardness she feels every time she swallows up an attempt. She might not show it, but its there waiting every single time reminding her how her mind would never lower itself to the mindset of a teenager when in truth she doesn’t know how to act like one. Her family treated and raised her as an adult. She’s been around people twice to thrice her age rather than people in her age group any chances of her developing a bond called childhood friends went moot as soon as that happened.
The girl groaned softly, smacking her head lightly on the notes spread across her table as she nestled her head onto it for a mere moment before lifting it up. The pair of non-subscripted glasses she wore to protect her eyes from the strain caused by reading to much nearly fell off from its grip on her nose before she straightened it back out. Dammit… Now why was she being haunted by these thoughts? A logical question the girl tried to ask but her mind simply would not respond with an answer so she did what any logical child would. She pushed it back, shoving it straight to the back of her mind as she forced her attention back at the mess of papers on her desk. Books that still needed to be read and researched, classes that needed to be revised.
She was adding more and more to her list. One hand slowly caressing a familiar green pad of sticky notes while the same hand itched to fetch a pen to write down the notes she needed. Reminders you could say, sometimes even an organize mind forgets things. She’s merely making sure to be thorough. “Aether studies, aether studies…” She mumbled under her soft spoken breath as she fetched an even thicker tome from her pile. Completely oblivious to the quiet footsteps from behind as she mulled over preparing for the class she recently signed up for but if Julius were to look at the pile of books she had on her desk he might have found at least three of the books he was trying to find.
