Personality †
[break]
Dalliance is bound to the urn which holds the cremated remains which he must protect, for this reason he cannot go far from them. He is most comfortable within the school grounds, this is due to a pain which grows stronger the further away he moves, despite being undead he still has the ability to feel the pain which becomes unbearable upon leaving the city. The urn has been at the school for approximately sixty years by now, so over time the heads of the school and himself have come to an understanding. After all there is little they can do. After the cemetery was removed his personality was a little shattered, he was left mainly angry. Not at anything in particular just the incessant feeling and need to be angry, over time this turned into a darkened sea of grouchiness and spite.
[break]
[break]† He wishes to find a way to leave the academy grounds, after years of hiding out in the basement of 'haunting' the forest (which caused a slight problem a few decades back with concerns about a man eating dog haunting the grounds at night.) Yet being relatively weak himself he finds himself needing another, perhaps it is lucky that he is in the right place? Perhaps a student or teacher can lead him to the answer.
[break]† Once he is able to leave the school grounds his quest begins, due to the rest of the graveyard being split apart and scattered with clone like echos of himself he seeks to find them and assimilate with them. However the clones lack sentience thus he is unable to communicate or sense where they are. And so a physical hunt begins, he must seek information out about them.
[break]† Where ever the remains have been scattered, reburied or lost, be they turned into jewelry or left in a basement once he knows where they are he needs to take the echos back, and somehow release the dead remains so that he is not bound to them or they do not impact travel.

History †
[break]
Dalliance grew up as the son of the alpha, him and his siblings growing up one rose to be the next pack leader and the rest either happily fell in line or left to start their own life. He was one who did not feel quite content, not quite fitting in he spent his time wandering the unclaimed lands. It was a time when the countries were not fully formed, capitals were not even thought of as everyone just focused on their lives. Thus much of the land was wild and unclaimed. He was just a normal dog without much intelligence, building a pack and chasing rabbits.
[break][break]
However he found that he had lead his pack too close to what was then just a large town, as was common in those days Dalliance and a couple of his fellow pack mates were buried alive in new cemeteries, this was due to a common belief that the first creature buried in a graveyard would be kept there in spirit to protect all those who were buried after. Fighting off grave robbers and demons alive it was akin to a cursed existence. However along with this the animal was buried alive, dying slowly from suffocation. Up till then Dalliance had been an average dog, his mind had been that of a non-sentient creature yet upon becoming a church grim he was granted awareness. Over time he learnt that it was best to do his job, the graveyard becoming a part of him it hurt when demons came to spread their darkness, lashing out at the graverobbers and demonic beings also gave him an outlet for the anger and hatred which had built up.
[break][break]
The city around him grew, what was just a relic, an old building of the past now stood close to the center of a capital city. Skyscrapers towered above the land which had been abandoned until the last owner passed away, returned to the government the corpses were excavated. The majority of them were sent to another graveyard, that was the lucky part, for that graveyard had its own church grim who would now protect and care for them. Yet the rest were split up, as the deceased remains were sect across the country he found himself being shattered, torn apart so that he could still protect them as his death was intended. However over time his powers had waned, the church which he had been buried at once was full of prayers and followers, yet now it sat abandoned and empty. As a weakened church grim torn apart his mind failed to properly copy, memories and emotions became more prominent in the different versions of himself.
[break][break]
Currently he stays and protects the cremated remains of an early headmaster of Eldritch Academy, whilst they belong to the descendants of him the remains are currently at Eldritch, until he finds a way to move freely away from them he will be unable to leave the city and search for the other echos of himself. These echos are not sentient, they have been stripped of their intelligence and are merely embodiment of his emotions, while he is currently not incapable of all emotions Dalliance will find that as he collects more parts of his fractured self he will be able to understand himself and the world around him more. Perhaps finally being able to move on from his role as a protector of the dead.

Their soul would remain alive and bound to the yard as they upheld the duty of protecting the cemetery from demons, gravediggers, trespassers with ill intent, and the like. The task was said to be from an ancient agreement with a god and was a sacred duty for an animal to uphold.

If they become too loyal to one individual, they can be easily taken advantage of and used.
