welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

She needed a place for her work. Use of school labs and spare rooms in the Sage dormitory was becoming risky even for the elusive girl. She had some money, yes, as well as plenty of gold she had created from coal and dirt. Alchemy was an extensive, exhausting, and irritating process, but it did have its perks at times. Rumor had it that a new witch had moved into town and set up shop. Surely she would have some room to spare.
The shop was homely and quite magical, as one might expect of a witch’s workplace. The place was lit by captured glowing pixies that cast their glow on the lovely tapestries on the walls. The shelves were filled with all sorts of things-- truly a paradise for anyone with the money to spend on the many oddities. Inglisse, however, was here for different business. “Excuse me~” she spoke up, her tone formal as she searched for the witch in charge. A small grin laced her features as she scanned the interior of the store. Inglisse wore an elegant black dress, perfect for a slightly more formal occasion, outside of classes.

IF "I LOVE YOU" WAS A PROMISE
WOULD YOU BREAK IT IF YOU'RE HONEST
The sound of the end of a boom stick hitting against one of the wooden walls within the shop landed with a loud thud, shaking some of the small glass balls hanging loosely. Unlike the rest of the shop where they were glowing brightly, these specific balls above where the front desk was were dull. And also crying. The balls clattered, followed by the muffled cries of the fairies trapped within. "GET YOUR ASSES GLOWING NOW, DAMMIT! I DIDN'T CAPTURE YOU AND PUT YOU IN THOSE GLASSES FOR NOTHING! DO YOUR JOB OR IT'S SNACK TIME FOR ME!" The witch growled loudly, thwacking her broom against the wall another time. The balls flickered dully before they all lit up one by one, the sobs of the fairies still echoing inside of them. Satisfied to finally have some light near the the front of the store again the witch's anger started to boil down, chucking her broom back behind the counter and lingering onto the fairies. One of the balls started to flicker again, which made Kim's amber eyes narrow. Though intimated, the fairy mustered up enough energy to keep it going. The feline let out a sigh, placing her hands upon her hips. "Can't get the staff these days. Seriously, you offer people a job and they just take advantage of you. Fairies are punks." She held her finger to her lips, looking down in thought. "I need to get something else to light this place up." At which point, the crying became a little louder. Amid her thoughts the door's bell chime sounding caught the witch's attention. Her pink furred ear twitched, turning around to see a woman browsing her isles and calling for her. A human, of all things. How curious. This would be fun. Humans meddling in her art usually never ended well. Still, she was first customer of the day. Good thing she just got the lightning fixed before this happened. Walking a few steps over to her counter Kim leaned forward onto it, resting her elbows on the top while using her intertwined fingers to rest her chin. Yellow eyes flickered in the dimish lightning as a grim spread across her lips, her split tail waving behind her curiously. "Welcome to Puerluna, for all your witchcraft needs. How can i assist you, human?"

There was a bit of commotion in the back, but none that Inglisse could really make out. As such, it was of no concern for her. Before she knew it, a cat-like being sauntered over to the counter. Pink hair, fluffy ears, and two tails. To the girl, this feline witch seemed to be either a bakeneko or nekomata, at least based on appearances. The witch leaned over on her counter, a grin lacing her lips. The human only mirrored the grin with a smile. “Greetings. I’m looking for a few supplies, ingredients for a project of mine, along with some space for my work. I was wondering if you were currently renting out space for people meddling in magic and other practices,” Inglisse said, getting straight to the point. If the witch could not assist her with providing space, she did not want to waste her time.

IF "I LOVE YOU" WAS A PROMISE
WOULD YOU BREAK IT IF YOU'RE HONEST
A human meddling in witchcraft. That rarely ended well. Not because Kim thought of humans as incapable of wielding magic, they were not, such as this world itself proved. But little if any at all had the discipline to wield it correctly and to its full capability. As beings made of magic, witches are much of understanding of the capabilities of the unnatural forces, but humans dabbling in that sort of thing tended to end their lives if not the lives of others with it. Of course, none of that was her business. If a human came in here asking for the ingredients for a nuclear bomb then she would be more than happy to give it to them in exchange for the coin and then to pack up her things and leave before she was blown up, but it didn't mean she couldn't judge them silently to herself. Kim gave a swish of her tails, blinking at the girl behind shimmering glasses. "Feel free to take a look around the shop for whatever ingredients and supplies you're looking for. If you don't see something here i can order it for you. Could take a bit to get here and may cost extra, but business is business, no?" She could probably find them herself, or simply get Mortem to ship more to her in the blink of an eye. But of course, if Kim made it seem like it was a big effort to get something then the more money this chick would probably end up cashing out for the expenses. But a space to rent out... Well, Kim hadn't been expecting that. "As for the space..." she trailed off in thought, yellow eyes traveling around the store. It was rather small, as someone who was just starting out. The shop contained three rooms. Her front store, the back where she slept and kept her belongings, and the basement where for up until now she had been delivering Mortem's scarifies every week. Didn't want to get her sheets bloody, after all. So, she really didn't have much of an option. Still, gaining extra coin was very tempting. Her gaze flickered to the basement. "The basement is free for someone to use. At a cost, of course." Her smirk etched back onto her features. "I won't ask what you want to use it for and turn a blind eye for eighty gold a week. Plus you get to keep and use what ever is down there already." Most likely some blood and random body parts left over, along with some tools, but Kim couldn't think of anything else a witch wanna-be would be doing other than dark stuff. Plus this girl looked the type to do something questionable. Had that creepy lesbian witch that lived in a cabin in the woods alone vibe about her.

A normal response to one just shopping for ingredients. They surely would not be too hard to find. Inglisse needed to replenish her stocks of powdered moonlight, enchanted sapphires, and good ol’ average blackberry juice. Summoning that loudmouthed asshole of an atronach had drained her of those supplies. “Deal,” the blonde said with a smile, pulling out a medium-sized change purse from her jacket. It was good she had come well prepared, anticipating a good answer to her request. Reaching into the black velvet change bag, Inglisse meticulously counted out eighty golden coins to the counter. Fortunately, the girl had a means of making the money. Literally. Making the money.
She was hardly using it for the more magical, witchy purposes. She herself was not a witch. She was a scientist, a researcher, an explorer of information and what the natural and unnatural world had to offer. It just so happened that scientific witchery blended in with it just a bit, at least when it came to studying magic specifically. Inglisse could only guess what was down there in the basement already, but hopefully she could make use of the materials. Turning, the blonde began to head towards the shelves, eager to browse and see just what the shop had to offer. “By the way, you can call me Lissy. Full name’s Inglisse Carroll. Might I know the name of my new landlord?” she asked in a perky manner, eyes fixed momentarily on some folded tapestries on the shelf covered in silver fur from some critter.

IF "I LOVE YOU" WAS A PROMISE
WOULD YOU BREAK IT IF YOU'RE HONEST
Kim was fairly surprised the pale blonde had actually agreed to her price. The feline watched as she girl pulled out the coins and placed them upon the counter without even hesitating or questioning her price. It was pretty insane for such a small space, and on a weekly basis too. Kim wasn't even making twenty gold a week let alone anywhere near what this chick was willing to pay. Kim's gold orbs shone curiously, like a starved animal as she looked at the coins. However, once the girl turned around to look at the stock the witch narrowed her eyes in caution, swiping her hand over the desk to bring the currency. Something about her air of confidence and how casually she was willing to pay put Kim a little on edge. It was none of her business how she got this money, Kim could care less if she sold her body or robbed it from a blind cripple man crossing the road. But if this money was fake then they had a problem on their hands. While the human's back was turned Kim picked up a coin and bit it hard between her teeth. It didn't bend, nor break. However, it did have a strange taste to it. Kim was very good with money. She knew the look, smell, and even taste of real gold. It was just something she had picked up during her travels. All universes were different, but money was all the same. Except this girl's. But it wasn't fake, no. It wasn't plastic, nor metal. It had the same texture as coin, the same bitter ting. But, it tasted like smoke and chemicals. This wasn't fake gold, this was created gold. Real gold that was made from experimentation. Kim removed the coin and twirled it between her fingers, looking the girl up and down. Apparently she had a name. A name that was weird and didn't feel like pronouncing, so for now she'd just call her 'English', the far more superior language then whatever fuck-off country her name came from. "Name's Kimial" the tanuki's gaze softened once more, now a bit more curious about the human. Not even she could make money, as there was no spell for it in the witch world. It was again their code, and would probably ruin their economy. But English apparently didn't give a shit about any of that. Something told the witch this choice in tenant was a good one after all. "But no one calls me that, so Kim does just as well."

“Good to do business with you, Kim,” Inglisse replied cordially, amber eyes still scanning the shelves. She had seen the witch checking the gold to ensure it was indeed real, which was no problem to her and a wise action. The human girl had managed to create a small supply of gold out of various elements, utilizing a mixture of magic, science, and unknown sources and practices she attempted to utilize. Perhaps a basic label would be alchemy, but her own process of creating the gold seemed a little more complex than the failed scientific approach to changing coal to gold. The golden coins were real enough, which assisted the stereotype “poor college student” in obtaining the resources she desired for her research.
Unable to see what she needed on that exact shelf, Inglisse decided to avoid wasting time to find what she was to buy. “Do you happen to have any powdery moonlight, everlasting ice of differing types, and blackberry juice with the pulp? I used up my supply of those ingredients,” the blonde explained with a warm, carefree, and slightly embarrassed smile. What magic-loving scientist ran out of ice?

IF "I LOVE YOU" WAS A PROMISE
WOULD YOU BREAK IT IF YOU'RE HONEST
This girl confused the witch. On one hand, what she was asking for with the free space and the fake money made it out as though she was a bit shady. But, her entire domineer screamed otherwise. The shy aura, the twitchy body language. They completely contradicted each other. Either Kim was wrong about her intentions, or she was hiding something far more sinister. And if one thing was certain, Kim was never wrong.
The feline looked back to her while still fiddling with the coin, as she was apparently having trouble finding some of the ingredients. Was she ditzy, or doing it on purpose? She had given her money, so really it should be none of her business. But this human was intriguing her, both in a good and bad way. "Everything here is in alphabetical order. If it's not in the correct spot, we don't have it. But like i said before, i can always get some for special orders." While some may say Kim didn't care about much, she had always cared about her ingredients. Her entire room could be a mess and yet she would go out of her way to ensure her herbs and spices were neat and proper. Selective OCD, one might say. "I think we ran out of powdery moonlight a few days ago. Some were-person is using it for experimental transformation or whatever kids are into these days. If you need i could get some tonight and ahve it ready by morning, it just wont come cheaply." She'd have to wait until night, stay up past her bed time, and crush some moon light all before morning. It was a hard process, which is why it would cost more than just getting some from her sponsor... But the quicker she could get some shards the better she would be.

“Ah,” Inglisse responded, only now bothering to notice the letters marked on the shelves. She first found the ice, all seventeen types. Luckily, she only required five of the types. Taking out a small shopping pouch, Inglisse picked up each everlasting ice cube with a special cloth to keep her fingers from freezing. Next was the blackberry juice, which was with the other berry juices and jams. While they were edible, this grade was specially produced for witches and magicians. Hurriedly, she found the dark crimson and slight purple shades mixed together in a jar of blackberry juice. One delicate hand fetched it and began to walk back towards the register.
The witch was talking about how she had run out of powdery moonlight. It was a shame, as the substance was quite the useful ingredient. “There’s really no rush,” Inglisse said politely, honestly in no hurry and also not wanting to waste any more coins than she had to. The gold certainly was not the easiest to make. While it was doable, it still consumed time and effort. “Do you think you will have some in about a week? I could buy it off you then,” she responded politely, placing the shopping pouch of ice and the small jar on the register counter.
