welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The gentle softness of her duvets. Warm and inviting to the sleeping child resting without a care to the world around her. Kurenai slept the sleep of a peaceful babe in contrast to the annoyance of her turning in a fit full pace between waking and sleep a few hours ago. She can blame her sleeping late for that. But in her defence the girl wanted to finish at the very least HALF of her intended work.
Poor Kurenai, see half doesn’t exist in her books. It’s either go big or suffer in her books, what little work usually grows into a mountain whenever the girl is involved. She doesn’t stop at one, oh no that would be too mundane. The girl would pile and pile until like a tiny sponge trying to soak up a lake into its tiny absorbent body, she gets swamped.
SWAMPED. Swamped with work I say! That’s how she always lived her life, day in a day out like some workaholic obsessed fool she is. The gentle air flowing from the small cracks in the window. Gentle and cooling as the ending winds of autumn. The chilling grasp of winter highly visible within each touch of the lingering cold air. The drop of temperature from the slightly warmer hue it had a week or so ago passed unaware to the sleeping child.
She was so innocent…
So…UNAWARE.
That if the school burns down in her sleep she’ll be none the wiser. Perfect isn’t it?
For someone so cruel to bust into the room and yank her off from her sweet slumber? See that small shift of her frame as she snuggled deeper into the warming hug of the blankets wrapped around her body? Wasn’t that tempting enough?

Kiran didn't care for her snuggling slumber. The sun was awake, so he was awake. The early hours were best for some jogging at least, if not some more intense work outs. Since their unlikely and accidental friendship birthed from a trip, an misunderstanding, and vanilla icecream, the phoenix had noted that her brain was the only muscle being worked. Couldn't have that. No. This world was dangerous. There might not be a war anymore, but arguably walking down the street could get you shanked for no reason. Nothing was worse than a criminal, violence without a cause. At least in war, both sides were frighting for something they felt was right. Now days, if your watch was too shiny, it was asking to get lifted off an unmoving body.
Worse yet, this slight girl didn't seem to have a talent to defend herself. That was odd! Kiran remembered a time when talents didn't exist, but he couldn't deny their prevalence and usefulness. If she couldn't use some sort of mysterious power like most others, then her body would have to become her talent. Wasn't Kiran such a nice guy? Doing a solid for his friend?
Kicking in her door, he was upon her before she could even resist. His body was trained to a level common to soldiers. Swift and accurate movements. Kurenai was wrapped into a burrito within the warmth and falsely perceived safety of her blankets and hauled over his shoulder like she weight nothing more than a small sack of potatoes. Next, he moved to her closet, rifling through it as if it were his own. "So many kimonos...don't you have-- Oh, wow. You do have normal clothes. Why don't you ever wear these?" the camo pantsed bird-boy asked, fingers lightly trailing over the clothing normal teenage girls wore but suspiciously looked never-worn. However, that was not what he was looking for exactly. Finally, at the end of his search, he located clothing appropriate for working out and snatched them up before jogging both of them out her room, out of the hall, out the door.
The air still smelled dewy as the sun had just peeked its own eye open, turning the sky a lovely teal. His hair was pulled back into a low pony, sticking out below a matching camo sergeant's hat. Today, he'd be her trainer. Her drill sergeant. Kiran would whip her into fighting shape even if it killed the both of them. "Kurenai!" he barked, finally slinging her off his shoulder to stand on her own feet, beginning to unwrap her. "Today's the day you learn your body isn't just a brain jar. Get changed so you can start your stretches!"

Did she look like someone who enjoyed the very presence of the rising sun? Pun included from her heritage being from Hisakawa continent of the ‘rising’ sun from their proximity to the mountains and their scenic vantage point towards watching the sun rise from its eternal chase with the moon. But did Kurenai give a damn towards her ‘arch nemesis’. That’s… putting it lightly but no. The albino haired maiden gave no shits.
NO SHITS.
Towards what she considered as the slayer of peaceful sleep. Sleep that was now being threatened by a ‘soldier’ following the holy command of her arch nemesis. For shame Kiran! At the same time, she cant exactly deny her need for more physical activities. Her brain was the only muscle BUFF enough to win one of those body building contests. If brains could kick open their cranium houses to join such things.
See her shaking her head in all kinds of nope? That’s the internal version of her common sense who still has a healthy respect for staying firmly alive. The girl, as nice as she does have a healthy sense of self preservation thank you very much. Being ill for the entirety of her childhood does that to a person. It gives a healthier aspect in viewing ones fleeting life and how quick time can be bitch when it comes to enforcing the cycle of life on unsuspecting mortals.
Kurenai’s escapade with sleep came to an abrupt heart breaking halt when the jostled movement of her small form being bundled into the soft duvets wrapped around her body and then hoisted like some waiting bag of potatoes over someone’s shoulder. Wait… jostled? She was moving. Sleep addled minds never usually work well. Especially for a girl who’s head was in the crossroads between sleep and waking.
The girl was fighting it! Better believe she’s waging her own war against being rouse by the infernal sun and now the ‘dream’ of her being moved. Daze orbs cracked open and closed, the ‘dream’ felt way too real for Kurenai but a dream is a dream right?
Her mind made a logical point to say yes at this
Cause how else was she going to explain…. How someone was lugging her around like a sack of produce when she damn know she locked her door? Let’s ignore the loud ‘bang’ from earlier as said obstacle was promptly kicked to the curb. Kurenai can be a heavy sleeper when needed be. No surprise the loud crash of her door did nothing to snap her back into the waking world. But now…she was having a ‘dream’ of someone rummaging through her closet?
No that couldn’t be right…
“Hmmm?....Dont have the guts for it…” She mumbled, still somewhat asleep as she snuggled further into the cocoon of blankets.
Sleep… so close yet so far.
Only for her attempts to end so abruptly when the feeling of a padded ground fully derailed the sleep train she was on. Sleep express goodbye, the girl was being roused fully from her slumber as she blinked away the bleariness her eyes had.
“KURENAI”
The loud bark of a well familiar voice got her attention. Enough that an unrefined squeak slipped through her lips in surprise as she soon found herself burrito into her blankets. Heh… This couldn’t be right… Where in seven hells was her bed?! “Kiran what the hell??” The confused child promptly forego any form of her refined mask for a more ‘what the fuck’ is going on response. Lavender eyes blinked slowly at the command, then towards the offered clothing she recognized as the clothes she made a week ago. It wasn’t much in terms of complexity. The clothes Kiran tossed her way was nothing more than a simple hoodie and matching set of capri styled grey jogging pants. Nothing too fancy but certainly not something she thought she would ever wear in public.

"Oh good, you're finally awake," Kiran snarked, crossing his strong arms over his equally muscled chest. He was clearly amused with her reaction, but also taking his role of drill sergeant quite seriously. This half baked idea had occurred to him quite suddenly, but he'd never once questioned it. It'd be for her own good. Giving her duvets a good yank, he unwrapped her fully, forcing the clothes he'd picked up into her hands. "Change. On the double! We don't have all morning..especially since you have classes you won't miss," he commanded, turning his back to her. Yes, he expected her to change right here in the open, but to his defense, no one was up yet. All the dorm windows in sight were still dark, and not a soul wandered within sight. Just as private as a changing room, right? And as much as Kiran might have been the type to sneak a peak, he wouldn't in this case. He wanted her to actually comply with his plan, so he'd play by her rules....to a point.
While he wanted, listening intently for the rustling of clothing, he started speaking again. "First we'll do some stretches to reduce soreness and prevent injuries. Not that I think a jog would kill you, but I'm not taking any chances," the phoenix informed her, idly stretching his own arms and torso again. Yes, he'd been up early enough to have already stretched and did a quick work out. As he moved, his back muscles rippled, still a little tense from sleep despite his carefulness. He kept working at them, but truthfully his muscles usually remained tense after the dreams he'd had in his own sleep. Whether he liked it or not, he carried anxiety in the backs of his shoulders and in his neck, which he was currently rolling with a frown on his lip. "Ready yet, Nai? I'm turning around!"

“….”
Hear that Kiran? That’s the sound of her brain making another attempt to decode just what in seven hells was she doing with a guy wearing camo fatigues and acting like a drill sergeant out from an army flick.
Or movie, whichever okay! It wasn’t like Kurenai ever took the time to get familiar with the new genres coming out of the woodworks. Heck, the term ‘horror’ still causes her to remember why she rarely takes the time to check which was in or not. But Kiran current attire reminded her far too much of the time she and… Tao had to take to the extremes to make sure their entire class PASSED the exam Chishiki held every term. When… I stated class, she meant their entire house.
Study boot camp, meet… physical training boot camp.
Her brow… made its first attempt at reacting. By arching and then switching to a light rhythmic twitch. “Kiran… what in the seven hells are you technically trying to doo?” The patience child stared at the boy. She stared, the questioning obviously was now starting. Especially… RIGHT after his direct order for her to STRIP out in the open to change. Yeah…she might just be waking up but the girl’s firm grip on her modesty was very much iron clad for her to dare disrobe out… in the open. How could he even……?!
No….
Take deep breaths Kurenai. Think… logical! Yes logical. That often times help… all except now when she has to go along with Kiran’s sudden hair brain scheme. And look, he even got her to temporarily toss her protocol for decorum. In public of all places, but in her defence…at this ungodly hour she doubted anyone would be awake. If there is… then she’s going to have a phoenix to smack with the unholy slipper.

Kiran turned, then pulled the biggest frown on her. "You aren't changed," he stated flatly, unamused with her disobedience. "How can I train your body to be in its peek condition if you won't get out of your pajamas? Those are hardly made for stretching and jogging!" Kiran exclaimed, hands resting on his hips. Green eyes peered down at her, somehow glowing in the shadow cast by the brim of his cap. "If you have no talent, then your body will have to be able to pick up the slack so you can keep yourself safe," he explained a little better, but clearly he wasn't backing down. Like she could ever hope to outrun him. Her squishy self needed to toughen up. If she'd insist studying to was so important, he'd counter with just how important it was to be able to defend yourself!
His expression turned devious, an evil grin creeping over his face. "I'll give you one last chance to change. If you aren't when I turn around...I'll change you myself," he threatened, not above stripping and dressing his friend for her own good. He trusted she'd see that fact as well, so as he turned his back to her again and crossed his arms, he listened for the frantic fluttering of fabric.

No talent…
HA….
AHAHA..!
Hear that? The sounds of irony couldn’t make itself known any further than the glaring lines it drew towards Kiran’s words. No talent he says. Depending which Talent the eternally living fire bird meant when he initially spoke. She guessed he meant the strange ability nearly ninety percent of the school populace held under their spades.
All except for her. Who took the initial saying about hiding their trump cards to a whole knew level. For Kurenai though it not about hiding it to gain a momentum of surprise against her opponents. The girl’s reason was as mundane as the fear her ability caused her guarded thought pattern. Fear. That’s the reason.
She feared the repercussions brought about her unique ability to draw existence out of a sheet of paper. Her drawings become in a sort connected to the living realm by pushing itself through that thin veil and gaining its own existence. She knew the price, everything always has one no matter how accidentally or intended it was.
Intention hardly mattered, as long as her power had a mind of its own. She knew deep down she cant fully tame it. Would it kill her? She burdened thoughts on occasions. Mulling over them ever so slightly when her guard drops and the thoughts, she didn’t want to think about takes a chance to invade her mind.
“Wait what?...” He lost her there. The confusion further grew as she listened to him ramble on and on about training her body. The brief passing gust icily touched her skin. Reminding her she was outside and this indeed wasn’t a dream she originally thought it to be. If it was then she was going to be avoiding pizzas from now on. Because that’s exactly what she swallowed last night as an impromptu meal/snack when she made the dumb mistake of recalling she too needed food.
“Exercise?...At this—” She continued but Kiran’s next statement pulled a plug on the rest of her line of thinking. She… had no doubt, the army fatigues wearing bird had no qualms with going through his threat. His posture told her more than enough about his intentions. For the sake of her precious modesty the girl was forced to make a choice. A choice she knew would be the ultimate choice when it comes to picking the lesser of evils. The blanket laying innocent on the ground soon became the focus of her attention as Kurenai made a sudden and almost desperate reach for it. The fabric crumpling under the pressure of her clenched grip before she tossed it over herself and the clothes Kiran tossed into her lap. Covering her in a way just like a cocoon would. But a cocoon made entirely out of a cushy material to give it volume and softness.
After a few chaotic ruffling inside the cocoon the girl emerged wearing the plain shirt and joggers. The girl’s cheeks unmistakably flushed bright red in embarrassment, she felt… naked. Naked without the full covering her kimonos offered her. She was clearly out of comfort zone as her glare settled on the smirking bird. “Happy now?...” She groused.

Kiran turned around, judging her outfit and rewarding her with a nod. "Yes. Now that I have gray hair, can we get started?" he quipped, smirking a little before dropping his arms. "As a note, wearing some of those other cool clothes in your closet would benefit you in many ways, one being mobility. Kimonos are restrictive. Try kicking someone properly in one of those," he commented, lowering himself to the ground to sit and spread his legs. "Also, you might get a boyfriend or something if you show a little more skin..." Kiran teased, though he gave her little time to respond. "Okay, Nai! Firstly! Sit like me and stretch your body toward each foot until you can touch your toes. Wrapping your hands around your heels is even better, but baby steps."
Explanation given, he proceeded to demonstrate. Leaning over, he wrapped his hands around each heel individually for a few seconds each. After that he proceeded to lead her through a few other basic stretches, making sure she was good and limber for the main event. Once that was finished, waited for her on the side walk, running eagerly in place. "Alright. Now that you're stretched, it's time to jog. Two miles for starters should be easy for you, right?" he asked. It might have seemed like a joke, but he was completely serious. He ran several miles around the city in the morning, so two miles felt like something a baby should be able to do. "Then after, maybe I'll buy you breakfast? Depends on how well you do, to be honest. You feel ready for this? I won't be carrying you," he grinned like a madman, clearly filled with enough energy for both of them. Though his long dark hair was already pulled back, he pulled it up further into a bun so it wouldn't get tangled as he ran with her. Should she need some motivation to continue, he'd gladly provide her some...

That couldn’t be…
Ha…very funny Kiran. Making it sound like he went through her closet with reckless abandon--- Hear that? The unmistakeable silence of a proverbial pin dropping to the ground. The clank of the unseen metal as her brain soon connected the dots given by the tone of the phoenix voice. Slowly… wait for it.
“….You went through my closet?” The question was more rhetorical at this point. Confirmation if anything to what her brain was trying to tell her. Oh please don’t tell her she’ll be roasting ‘bird’ tonight for this blasphemy. Sure….
SURE ALLOW A MALE TO RUMMAGE THROUGH A GIRL’S CLOSET AND POTENTIALLY SEE HER UNMENTIONABLES.
Precious sarcasm. The one screaming bloody murder within the privacy of her mind was all but shooting a few—correction more than a few death threats at her feathered friend. On the outside you ask? The girl’s physical form was catching up to the horror her brain is telling her. Kurenai’s cheeks flushed bright red as the blood gathered around her cheeks from sheer embarrassment at having her closet rummaged through.
“….Y-You and I are going to have a nice chat about how its normally a bad idea going through a girl’s closet.” She flustered. Stammering through her statement while in the end forcing the flatness of her voice into her words. Oh she has words, WORDS.
But now… she might as well play his game. She’s already here anyway, so why not make the best of the situation. Though she doubted a free lunch was going to be enough for this. “If you can cook then I’ll accept the offering.” She rolled her eyes, scoffing slightly at the attempted ‘reward’ for her future efforts. Well she calls it a bribe mister. A bribe to get her to work for something if…. The tiny fact that she normally cooks a huge bento meal enough for two-four people. She’s staring at you Naomi and Tao. Oh well… better not drag others into this mess.
Resigning to her fate Kurenai did exactly as she’s told. Following his instructions until it came to the leg stretches. OW…. The girl winced internally as the tight muscles refused to stretch further, causing her body to accidentally lose its balance and fall on the ground. “Itai…” She cringed slightly sitting up just as Kiran began to speak about jogging. Two miles?... She blinked. Two miles didn’t sound all that bad. “It doesn’t sound bad, I think I can manage that length.” She mulled over before she agreed just as she stood right back on her two feet. Oh silly Nai… if only you knew what kind of hell you’re about to go through.

“Darn right you can manage. I was doing two miles when I learned to walk!” Kiran barked, clapping as if to speed her up. “Let’s go, let’s go! We don’t have all morning! And while I not give a rat’s butt about being on time for my first class, I know you and your big brain will,” he provided her with extra incentive, mouth pulling into a smirk. If Kurenai loved her body half as much as those musty old books, maybe she’d give the young man a run for his money. However! As it stood, she was a complete noodle asking to be a damsel in distress. Coming from a proud species such as the phoenixes, he had little tolerance for weakness. The females of his race were often dead even with the males in strength, battle skills, and other warrior traits. Gender didn’t matter much to him, but he’d also been around long enough to know that it wasn’t always the case with every other being on the planet. Everyone was different, and while he could appreciate that, he sure as heck didn’t want his friend to be at a disadvantage in life. Not while he was around! Surely her family and other friends would thank him for his effort to keep rapunzel from her tower.
As they began their jog, he kept up along side her with ease. His messy bun swished behind him, tickling his bare shoulders, but he was used to it. Besides, his mind was elsewhere until he finally spoke again. “It’ll be hard, Nai. I know it seems like I’m being really difficult. But when we’re done, if something happens you should be able to fight back should anything bad happen. I know these are times of peace, but these times have happened before and still the cycle brings war. I don’t want you to look for a fight, but I’ll feel better knowing you can kick someone’s butt who tries anything on you, at least until someone comes to help. I’ve...seen a lot of things in my lifetime, and preventative measures are always the way to go. You’re smart, so you should be able to easily understand that, right?”

SHE CAN DO THIS!
She can-----
The true question is…. Can she SURVIVE this? Kurenai… wanted to stay optimistic but see the look of hesitation enveloping her young façade? She wasn’t hiding it, no matter how her family’s lessons in schooling her features resonated within her head. Nothing… prepared her from regretting the basics of physical fitness. Frankly because of one sole reason. The lack of time. She’s always trying to find ways to occupy her mind. Sadly, for Kiran’s own sanity, physical education hadn’t come into mind as one of those ways to occupy herself.
I mean, her family kept her busy alright. Through multiple intellectual stimuli. NOT bodily stimuli all for one specific reason. The girl’s physical constitution was near inexistent at this point. As a child she the child who anyone would quickly class as physically frail. She was sickly, her constitution being as fragile as the flowers blooming outside her room at the time. Any time sickness could strike. From the common flu to something as severe as a bout of pneumonia. Her… body was THAT fragile. But thankfully, for her sanity at the very least she outgrew that annoying phase in her life.
The one…side effect it did unfortunately leave her was… her parents wariness about forcing the girl into anything too exhausting for her body to handle in fear that her ailment as a child could come back.
Knock on wood, she wished she had one in hand. Oh wait, the girl’s purple orbs quickly scanned around until it settled on a rather thick trunk of a tree they were a few seconds into passing. Right on cue, just as they were about to pass it she quickly rapped her knuckle against the rough bark.
Call her superstitious but it never hurts to be a bit wary when it comes to her luck in the health department. “I can do it don’t worry.” She sighed right back only.. for her to regret it five minutes into the run when her own breath was coming out in gasps. Stamina? What was stamina when the girl’s constitution was as wobbly as a damn noodle!
“G-Give…” Huff… “Me…” Puff….
“A few…” She wheezed, as she tried catching over breath. Bending over her knees to try and take a few gulps of air to try and regain the air she lost from running. She heard his words earlier. He…was doing it for her. Or to pacify his sense of paranoia… still the girl couldn’t ignore the effort he was willing to give her. She cant exactly disappoint him now by quitting right? As much as she disliked his tactic, not to mention questioned it. She’ll keep her tongue to herself this time around. “If… it gives… you that much of a peace of mind…” She replied, once she deemed she can answered without acting like a fish out of water from lack of air. “Then I guess it wont hurt doing your way then…”

"...It's only been five minutes..." Kiran said in disbelief, pausing his jog to stare at her with unveiled disappointment and even a little shock. He kept this look as he stepped closer to her, squatting down to put his face under hers to peer up into her flushed one, eyes narrowed in concern. This was worse than he thought. They hadn't even made it a single mile, and he was worried she had a secret need for an inhaler. "You really can't do this, can you, Nai?" he asked, reevaluating his approach to her training. Even as scaled back as he thought he'd made it, this was too intense for her. The brain noodle was the least athletic being he'd come across in a very long time. However, he couldn't bring himself to abandon the task entirely! He wanted his friend to be more than a damsel in distress in life. Nai should be able to take care of herself, no matter what!
Standing upright, he took the camo hat from his head and tossed it into the trees somewhere as the symbolic death of his short lived sergeant's charade. Coming at her like Eliot-- no matter how watered down he'd been in comparison-- probably wouldn't work for the albino. A gentler approach would have to be taken. With a sympathetic smile, he patted the top of her head, then reached for the bottle on his belt. Uncapping it, he handed it to her. "Here, have some water," the phoenix spoke softly. He'd give her time to catch her breath while evaluating her general state of being. "Another five minutes of alternating walking and jogging should finish a mile. Do you think you can make it? We could stop then. Or we could stop now, I guess...do a little light hand to hand before getting some breakfast..."

A flimsy overcooked one due to her own ailments as a child never really developed a physical regiment. What made it worse was her ignoring the need to train her body once she was able enough. Instead of focusing on the physical aspect of her life she went for the mental portion in the form of her studies. What else was she supposed to do to occupy herself?...
Studying was easy, it didn’t land her anywhere near the futon for a week due to her body reacting harshly against it. But now that she was physically ‘able’ so to speak… her decision towards neglecting exercising… was biting her full on the buttocks. “I….Wasnt… Exactly… Kidding…” She wheezed, gladly accepting the offered water with a thankful nod. The pat…she didn’t expect, she honestly expected more of a scree from him while he’s playing the part of a drill sergeant. But it didn’t happen. Instead, he tossed the hat, right towards a branch to their left where it landed with some form of accuracy. It wasn’t as if she asked for a weak body to begin with… Kiran had to understand even she had pride. And her pride wasn’t one to play around with being a damsel. Loathed as she is to admit it…her body might as well scream ‘damsel in distress’. Her flimsy form simply… lacked what they call ‘stamina’ to keep up with Kiran’s lighter version of a boot camp.. if this could even be called light…
“Never…was particularly allowed to train…” She sighed. Corking the bottle again as she handed it back once she sufficiently recovered her breath. “I can do the full run.” She stared back at him. Refusing to take the easy route which…would have been wise in her condition. But her pride… for once she was listening to it.

Ah, here we go. Some semblance of an explanation for why she was such a Fabergé egg. "Never allowed to? What do you mean?" he asked, his mind musing on the point. She was an odd one, he had to admit. But being high strung wasn't unusual for an academic sort. One of his old friends was a little like her, but on a lesser scale. Li had been particular about certain things, like his books and his journals, but he wasn't in ulcer territory and he was more than happy to keep his body finely tuned like most proud phoenixes did. Maybe that was a species thing. Yeah, in hindsight, that was probably a species thing. There were tons of humans these days, but there didn't seem to be a specific quirk to them other than relentlessly growing in number and progress.
Nai was quite human, and he'd do well to remember that. Motioning for her to follow him on a much lighter jog that was barely above a walk, he hoped to hear more of his friend's story. Other than lacking muscle tone, her body was a decent size. Hopefully that didn't mean she ate like a bird...like, a literal little sparrow bird, not a big flaming bird like him. Average birds ate so little, but his kind could scarf food down to feed those fiery metabolisms. "Did your family lock you in a library every day or something? I've never heard of such a thing..." Kiran commented further, a slight frown appearing. It wasn't in her best interest as far as he knew. Everyone able should be able to at least defend themselves in a basic situation. Not everyone could or should be trained in the art of war, but he doubted Nai had the strength to even pierce someone's skin with a sharp knife, not even if her adrenaline was pumping. Maybe he'd test that theory one day, just for giggles.

He…
Hehe.
Kiran just made a funny. Without realizing he did by casually mentioning about her parents decision to coddle her from childhood. Nai was sheltered by them, that fact was apparent enough that the girl couldn’t deny her naivety towards certain aspects outside the protective walls of the manor she grew up in. Nai cringed at the comment. Now.. her mind went through her word lists. Looking for the appropriate words to say without really butchering her suffering pride by allowing him a few brief passes at how pathetic she was health wise as a small child. “My parents…we’re the sort to go for preventions right after cures if that make sense. I wasn’t exactly the healthiest child growing up.” Nai reluctantly explained. Picking the words carefully before dabbling more into her thoughts.
A library… did he have to mention that… his statement nearly called for an embarrassed fluster over her cheeks before she forced her sight to move to the side, grumbling alongside the process. “…Would it be funny to say we have a massive library but… not in that aspect where they would lock me up… its more an expectation if anything.” She shrugged. Again, pausing minutely to choose her words. “Since I’m a member of Clan Shimizu…. I’m expected to be the good daughter and bring honour to our family. Whether it be by knowledge.” She sighed softly.
She’s human… she’s very much a noodle of a human. She didn’t need further reminders how much of a noodle she is if she could only keep up with him at the snail’s space of a jog he’s doing. They were more or less walking now instead of an actual jog.
