welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

orion was in between the legs of the fairy as he flew her from the school. azalea definitely loved flying alone, but it never hurt to ride on her bird from time to time. it was one of her days off and azalea was in the mood to spend some of the money she had laying around. her arms then lifted as she let orion soar through the sky. the wind coating her arms in a manner of a hug. with a small shrill of happiness, azalea cast a spell. the wind in the sky moved and a fun turbulent speeding breeze drew forth in front of the pair. orion instantly entered the whirlwind of sorts, following the way that it drove them. the flips and tricks that it allowed orion to perform with great speed only brought more excitement upon azalea.
before long, the area that azalea planned on going to was in sight. she beckoned to orion and he exited the whirl of wind, dropping and settling on a back of a nearby bench. the skyscrapers from the sky had been only more magnificent than from her view in the school. with a gleeful smile, azalea apparated her wings and got off of her dear companion. taking to the floor, she became the size of her human figure, having orion move from the branch to perch on her shoulder. "now then, my dear friend, let's go shopping~" azalea had only a few things on her list, and she was certain to get all of what she wanted.
bedazzling the streets were small shops here and there, however one caught her eye specifically. without a single moment of hesitation, she gallivantered inside. it seemed to be a blacksmithing shop of sorts, and it just so happened that one item on her list was a new wand as she had broken her previous one. azalea never required an item of magical capability to cast her magic, however it always made her concentration aspect lower considerably, meaning she could give more lenience to be distracted rather than having to focus on being....focused.
the outside of the building had looked rather lovely, it took on the shape of a rather older than modern lovely fantasy shop. the kinds that azalea often read in novels. the door, seemed to not even be a door. instead it was a wide opening, with not a single blockade from the outside world and the inside of the shop. upon entering, azalea's eyes had to adjust to the dimmed lighting, the roasting fire nearby drawing a feeling of comfort deep inside of herself. there were weapons of all sorts, swords, staves, spears, all along one wall. while armor stood tall on mannequins all about the floor of the shop. there was a smaller desk set about in one area of the shop, and that is where azalea headed for. a small bell sat atop the desk, some sort of invention made for the calling of the master of the estate. smiling at her perched bird, she tilted her fingers to the bell, tapping it twice. the proper amount to not be too short, and not be too long. it was only polite to ring it twice. |

"The day is so much more fun without anything to do." The oni laid back, literally on a small little body lengthed cot like matress she hid away for naps. It made things much easier when having to melt the more substantially harder metals and stones to use for some of the crafts she had been paid to do. Not to mention if she wanted to slack off for the day and put some things off, she could always lie and extend the task a day or two, charge the same amount she would for how long the task would have actually been to do. Then just take the extra time to kick back and rest. Of course, she had almost been caught several times with that technique, but she found her way around it with ease. It didn't take much, mostly because many people in the town were.. well they were rather gullible and predictable. Untraditional uses of her furnace were not uncommon during the work day for Seraphim. The silver haired woman had tended to take her lunch breaks in the middle of her shop without much care. Aside from the fact she never bothered to go up to the upper level where her actual home was to relax, she instead would make foods and snacks in the very place she did business because she owned the damn thing and she did what she wanted. Today was no different though, sitting in the middle of the shop to cook up and munch on her food. Today was a large, thick steak that she'd bought not too long ago to eat for a meal, and since she was craving it... why not freaking do it? The crackling of the fire had seemed to cover up the unsuspecting entry of a guest that she didn't really want. Apparently they hadn't noticed the fact that there hung a sign that said "Out to Lunch" hanging from the inside, but the sound of a bell made her flinch. Opening her mouth, Sera attempted to yell "fuck off", but she knew it wouldn't do well. Instead, the Oni climbed up onto her feet, towering over her own counter as a smaller girl had stood at the counter. She looked rather adorable, so she couldn't really yell at her. "What's up, Shrimp? You need directions or something? A student needing help with anything?" She wanted to make sure that she covered bases since she was tied into a contract of sorts with the Academy, so she had to be prepped for their students at any given time. words: 000 • tags: you • notes: stuff [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]

azalea had to admit, she was not expecting the owner of the shop to be right behind the counter. the seemingly quick movements of the shopkeeper spooked azalea in the slightest, however she played it off cool. rather than jumping in the air, she let a smile line her face. a small laugh left her lips as they parted slightly. the took in the figure in front of her, the woman was rather beautiful and stoic, yet she held a vibe that showed she could care less what others thought of her. the nickname that azalea had never been called before left the woman's mouth and a small gleam of amusement entered her eyes. the expression that the woman had carried, had been played with well. azalea recognized the classic 'fuck you' look, as she had shared it with quite the number of people on multiple different occasions. however, the woman seemingly decided not to say it. "yeah, i attend the academy. you can say it if you want to~" a small wink was offered in her direction before she continued, "i was wondering if you do custom-magical items of sorts.. the name's azalea by the way." following her introduction she noticed the [out at lunch] sign, "whoops... haha, i totally missed the sign.. i can come back later? i have quite a bit of other shopping to do as well~"
despite having offered to leave herself, azalea really did not want to leave. orion, having known azalea quite well, rubbed his head against her cheek, in a consoling-like fashion. |

The bright and chipper attitude was a fairly decent change of pace, she had to admit. Normally people were astoundingly paranoid, upset in some form, or the every so often entitled type. Far and few in between were the quiet types like the girl whom she did some work for not long ago, but this was her time now.. or at least it was. Leaning onto the counter in her usual slouched manner, she had the glare of someone who was more neutrally standing than many others and even so towards how she may have appeared to the girl at first. She gave off intimidation, but they was a work requirement. Who’s going to trust a skittish and withdrawn person to craft a sturdy blade or armor when their mouths couldn’t craft a sturdy sentence? But alas, the intimidating stature was just a front. Whether she picked it up from the couple century of training and being around others like her or if the mannerisms she developed had caused it were far beyond her real knowing. The silver haired woman listened to the girl’s notion to say what she was going to say, which only made her brow furrow. ”The hell are you talking about? You’re a little young looking to be my type, if that’s what you’re implying.” She held a confused look on her face, scratching her head as a genuine sign that she had no idea what was being implied. When she mentioned custom magical items, a smirk lit the Oni’s face. Not a sny show of a crack towards laughter, but she nodded her head slowly. ”Sure do. Because it’s custom, it’ll cost a bit more, but I can surely craft it to the closest design, if not 100%.” Her hands disappeared from the counter, digging beneath it as she tried to fish around for the usual notepad for her work papers and fees. As she had, the girl quickly realizing that her sign showed the store was closed for lunch, even offering to leave. It wasn’t that big a deal to her really. ”Make ya a deal, shorty. You help me out in making it, and I’ll take you up on forging this now. It’ll take a few hours regardless, so you might wanna reschedule shopping plans.” She also wasn’t going to cut a price down for her assistance because it was her lunch period... plus she could probably have the girl do a good bit of the light work. ”Also, I AM going to finish my lunch while this is started.” With that noted, she tossed a pad and pen onto the counter, bringing her hands up as she got herself ready for it. ”Alright, kid. Whatcha need from me to make this? Weapon type, any elemental affinities, size, what it’s created from. Whatever else you can think of.” It was standard procedure with her, and as everything was dictated to her, it would be written down as fast she could keep up with her. words: 000 • tags: you • notes: stuff [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]

the intimidating yet casual appearance of the fem made no difference for azalea, however the confidence she seemed to hold in herself made her feel as if she could entrust the task to her. the smile she had grew wider as the woman asked what ever she had been talking about, "you made a face, as if to say, 'fuck you'... so i implied you could say it if you really wanted to~" looking up at the ceiling before turned her attention back to the woman, "i am quite older than you think i am, i just always look so much younger. although that would imply that you are my type, huh?" her shoulders lifted lightly in a shrug-like manner, "you seem just a little tall, i suppose." the smirk that lit the face of the silver-haired woman only made azalea presume that she was confident in her skills. "eh, i have quite a lot of money i can drop on it~" now watching, the woman took a pen and a paper from nearby underneath the counter. "and i never got your name." it was not like azalea much cared for introductions, she just needed to know it so that the writer of this post can begin to use the name rather than 'woman' or 'her'. the pad and paper were ready to scribe everything that azalea said. "it is going to be a wand, and one essential thing is that it needs to be able to adapt to shrinking and growing magic. that way i can use it in both of my forms. i love the color yellow, so maybe a type of material that can give it a yellow glowing effect while i am using it. my main affinity is magic of the sky, so i prefer it if it could have aeromancy affinity. that would include but not limit to wind, and lightning. i would like there to be some sort of ambient connection between the wand and of my family emblem colors? i prefer it to exclude iron, as i hate iron. perhaps if you had any adamantine?" azalea reached into the satchel that lay at her side, pulling a book out, she set it on the table. fairy magic definitely was useful to her, as it allowed her satchel to be bigger on the inside as it was on the outside. such were, the magical artifacts from her kingdom. "this is the emblem of my family."azalea expected her wand to be rather costly, as most wands were. many creatures of magic preferred staves over wands, thus wands were out of practice, making them harder to make. azalea grinned at the woman behind the counter. "if i really am to help you, we ought to know each other more, eh?" |

The still positive attitude that the smaller blonde girl had shared with Sera was growing a little thin, but mainly geared towards the fact she started to imply the girl was flirting. She knew she had some vindictive people whom either wanted her to be jailed or her business shut down, but the idea of making a kid try to seduce her? No no no... that’s not what it could be. She had to push those ideas away. No person here was capable of doing such a thing, or at least she had hoped that was the case. ”Trust me, kiddo. If I wanted to say ‘fuck you’, I’d not have held back in doing so.” The Oni first replied, tucking some of her silver hair behind her ear as she fixed herself up a little more straight while the smaller human looking girl spoke. She scoffed, giving a bit of a chuckle with it from her implying her age was far from her appearance. So that’s how it was, eh? ”So you gotta be one of those little fairy tykes, right? Short in stature even when they try to fit into normal society? But you’re cute, I’ll give you that. But again, surely not my type.” Her implication made her laugh a little more heartily, shrugging her shoulders as it calmed down. ”I’m more of the opposite, I suppose. Oni’s are a little more of the sore thumbs in public. But, I just suppose that makes this a little more interesting, now doesn’t it?”Money being no objection? Well, customers like that were always liked... until they turned out to be so picky they would throw away perfectly good materials because of the tiniest flaws. The flaws were purely aesthetic, but to the point that it didn’t meet such a rich and perfect look, it was useless to them. Whatever... She made more money form it anyway selling them, so it helped her in being lazy at a later date anyway. ”Yeah, that’s nice and all, but keep in mind since you want magical properties and all, it might not be the PERFECT thing, but I will surely try to make sure it’s the best I can do.” She couldn’t offer any 100% guarantees when she crafted magic items, but there was no way she’d pass up the practice on it. ”Oh, the name’s Seraphim. Seraphim Koyoko, But you can just call me Sera if you’d prefer. How about you? What’s your name, shorty?” Giving her a moment to get through the work so the pair could begin working on the project, during which time they could socialize a little more, the Oni began to scribble on the paper that sat in front of her while the girl described the details of what she’d wanted. While Seraphim was more slow on the draw at collecting herself in some areas, she was very much adept at art and note taking. Between practice and natural talent, she had continued on for a good couple minutes after the girl had finished her details. Her eyes were notably shifting to the side where she left her notes before they went back to the drawing at hand, remaining quiet during the whole process. Finally, she’d finished the whole thing and walked her way around before turning the paper to face her. There would show a large canvas sketch with the noted preferences in the upper corner. In the center would show two wands and below them just the crest shown. On the larger scaled picture, there would show a blank banner on it that would trail up the grip of the wand. ”So, here’s what I drew up. The larger one will have the wand itself made from Topaz Crystal. I’ve found topaz matches both the color you want and will generally fit into the grand color scheme you want for the theme of your aeromancy. The crest will be pure Adamantium and sit atop your wands grip. Notably, this banner will be customizable for you to decide. If you want the family name, your name, a past relative, etc. we can get to that in the finishing sections, so there’s time to decide on that. Now, your aeromancy will be on the inside of the rod and will be attuned to your magic focus.” She paused and moved to the next part, being the crests below. ”Now here’s a fun part. So, you can passively carry it like a necklace or however you’d like and the wands rod will primarily carry the element of wind. Essentially what will happen is when you want to use it, focus, and the wand will be physically touchable. That will keep you from having others trying to use it against you. One last notation. So, the etched in markings along the rod will glow based on your color of element; green being wind, yellow for lightning, and so on and so forth. An aesthetically pleasing effect, don’t you think?” She gave a big close-eyed smile, delighted to have a rather hefty task like this. The challenge was always able to bring a smile to her face. words: 000 • tags: you • notes: stuff [googlefont="VT323"][googlefont="Oswald"]

"hue...hue..." azalea's lighthearted chuckle seemed to agree with seraphim as she spoke of being blunt and saying what she wanted to say. as things went to ages, seraphim seemed right on the dot as she assumed azalea was a fairy due to her height. "yep! that would be me~ i may not look it but i am actually four hundred and two years old~" her own eyebrows drew inward as she pondered what seraphim said. "surely if i was one hundred percent not your type, you would not keep saying that?" a mischievous glint in azalea's eyes gleamed before she began to twirl a small strand of hair around her finger. "definitely interesting. you don't seem very wicked, though you might call that first impressions..." oni's were oftentimes considered demons from hell themselves, which made azalea want to try a duel with the specific oni she had just met. azalea was quite skilled with magic, not so much physical attacks. it would be an interesting duel, if she should challenge seraphim to a duel. azalea thought back to the fairy kingdom, her kind never really got into things with the ogres and the trolls, especially of the yokai division. the fairies usually kept to themselves, minus their interactions with the pegasi, unicorns, mermaids and the kingdom of the mushrooms. however, there were quite a few cases of a few fairies playing tricks on the oni. such resulted in massive contribution donations of supplies and funds from her kingdom. "i do not care if it is not perfect... it doesn't even have to look the best to be that honest. as long as it functions....i am not much a stickler for perfect aesthetics." a wide grin followed azalea's statement.
"sera it is then~ my name is azalea, we fairies don't usually have last names... our family crest is our own means to a last name... a long time ago, oberon and titania chose that path. you can call me azalea, or aza..."
as azalea described what she wanted, she watched as sera scribed it all out. her drawings making azalea's visions come to life. clapping gleefully, "it's perfect!!" the smile across sera's face was contagious, causing azalea's smile to return. "so sera--whats the first step in this process?~" azalea was down for the adventure she was about to have with sera, and in feeling so she pulled out a bag of money, "a forward payment for our journey/task we are about to have~" setting it in front of sera, azalea waited for instructions.
