welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

“That’s relieving to hear,” Inglisse responded to his promise of not breaking anything. Amber eyes watched as he drank from his teacup, emptied it, and set it aside. The temptation was for her to get the teacup and refill it, but he began talking before she could get up to do so. No matter. She listened in silence to what seemed to be reminiscing on how he and his former summoner handled disagreements. Really, if anything it just seemed to be a man thing-- take out their frustration on each other then settle down to talk. It really was nothing too interesting or uncommon. “Is talking over calming tea not enough?” she asked, half jokingly, half seriously. This seemed more like emotional management issues on his part than it seemed of any concern to her. Still, at least he was being open about it. If he could not talk though, which most people, especially women, did, how else did he expect her to help? “Any ideas?”

Oras noticed that Inglisse was happy with his promise. And he did notice the brief movement towards the tea before he spoke up again. In reality he mainly drank the tea out of courtesy. For him, most tea didn't really have a nice flavor to it, so while he could drink it. It never had the biggest impact on him. Personally, he enjoyed drinks that had a soft sweet taste to them. Despite him being all about strength, when it cam to drinks he preferred more gentle flavoring and potency rather than bold and stronger drinks. Milkshakes were a personal favorite of his, but that was more of a desert than a drink. When she joked about tea being calming, or rather half joked, as he noticed. He chuckled and shook his head. "If only it were that simple. When I'm emotional though, there are really only a few methods that I can use to calm down. Physical activity is one of them, hence why my previous summoner and I used swordplay. Another one is... Well, it has to do my bond with my summoner so I wouldn't know how to employ that until later, when we know each other better."
He thought about it for a little bit. When she asked him if he had any ideas he didn't answer right away. "...Well I have two ideas, both of them temporary until we come up with a better idea and plan." He twirled the tea cup around in his fingers, expertly so with little to no chance of dropping from his hand. "The first is you saying the name: Avarend. That will, or at least should remind me, that I need to keep a calm and level head. That emotion isn't the best thing at the time. The downside is instead of venting this I'll be compressing it. Bottling it up per cay." He stopped twirling the tea cup and placed it down gently. "The second idea, is that you give me a few minutes to vent out all the emotions and anger patiently, and then start the conversation once that's over with. Those are the first, temporary solutions I can think of off the top of my head."

His explanations certainly intrigued the blonde girl. Perhaps she should have felt a little awkward at the sudden opening up, and while maybe a small part of her did, it was unseen and shrouded by her general curiosity. From what it seemed, Atranochs took their bond with the summoner very seriously, often forming a relationship like one would see in a family member in them. Unfortunately, Inglisse doubted she could ever see anyone as family again, especially after what happened so long ago. Her little sister was her only family and all she needed. She listened patiently to Oras however, not showing any distraction or mindfulness of her own. “Sounds like a plan,” she responded in a relaxed manner, agreeing with the atranoch.
“Avarend… does it have a meaning?” she asked, acknowledging his other points with a nod, but simply having human interest in a word she did not know the meaning of. Was it a person? A place? A magic word? It naturally captured her attention, as it would with anyone who came across a confusing word.

There were very few things Oras didn't know, understand or comprehend. However how a young woman thought was among those few things. More mature women in age and experience he could understand more easily, but women who were fifteen to thirty were beyond his comprehension. Because of that Oras would not understand that Oras opening himself up to his summoner now that they were starting over, would make her awkward. Even if it was a little. It especially didn't help that he didn't know much about his summoner's personality. Regardless of this, she seemed to agree with him for the most part and he nodded the confirmation. She spoke up again, asking about Avarend.
A sad smile crossed his face. "Let's just say my old summoner and I were helping a large group of people during a big fight. And suffice it to say we learned the hard way that emotion can harm just as much as it can protect and progress." He fell silent again, hoping she would know that it was a subject he didn't really enjoy talking about. And he hoped that she would realize that his discomfort in discussing it, and the why behind that discomfort, was why that word would work on him. He took in a breath and straightened in his chair, forcing an honest smile on his face. "Well then, that's what I wanted to bring up and discuss. How about you? Is there anything you would like to discuss and settle now while the time is right?"

Inglisse observed the discomfort displayed with subtle body language and his uneasy words. His words made no sense as to connect a meaning behind the word, but she could at least correlate that it had something to do with his past, a harder time for him. “Fair enough,” she said kindly with a shrug.
She mirrored his smile and shook her head before replying honestly. “I’ve nothing else to discuss. Have you anymore questions, Oras?” she asked, amber eyes focused steadily on his ice blue ones.

Hearing her ask if there was anything else Oras shook his head no. "Not at the moment no, other than I'd like to spend some time with you at some point. After I learn of this era's customs and the like. For now, I'll return to the common room and await morning." He placed his cup down and stood to his feet, a cocky grin spreading across his face like normally. "I'll see you tomorrow Inglisse. Hopefully at least." With that he'd walk to the door, thaw out the ice, and head out towards the common room.
