welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

♦ CHARACTER INFORMATION ♦ Name: Aoi Mitsurugi Gender: Female Age: 23 Occupation: Traveler Height: 5 ft 7 in Appearance:Personality: Aoi is a very calm and rational person on the surface. What she shows is always the surface however and no matter how hard someone pry's at her to get underneath, she can be a stubborn brat about it in every way, even so much as physical threats to harm to keep it from coming around. Her past is something the she buries because she does not want to talk about it and she will go to any length in order to keep it that way. So much as to lie on the surface to keep people from truly knowing, her answers tend to be vague and from years of practice and perfection, she knows how to keep her story in line to a fault that no two people could figure it out... Or at least that's her hope for it. Her main purpose of burying her past beneath a myriad of lies and vague replies is to keep the past where it's at so that she could only look towards the future. To her, no matter how much she could look at herself in a mirror or try to act like a child, she knows she can never mentally escape her past. As such, she will do whatever it takes to keep from both involving others as well as even to confront it if she can help it. At least... At least until she can face up to it herself. In a normal capacity, Aoi is kind and caring. She carries herself in a very mannerly profession despite her not being able to hold down a steady job. Through her entire time through her past, the neko was never fully able to shake away the speech and slight accent that her native language had given her. Being that her first language had been French, her tendencies to address others is blended with the feline aspects of her appearance. Her appearance to some seems like a loving attraction to others, but there's nothing that she can pleasantly sit down and focus towards. A trade is not something from which this neko can properly do that she's aware of outside of the things that she was forced into growing up. Being the case, she tends to try and find simple, menial jobs that she can do for some time in order to better herself in hopes of finding something some day. Some people might say her goal is trying to discover an innate talent she has that she could focus towards, but for Aoi, it's simply staying on the run. History: Much of Aoi's past is harsh to talk about. It didn't start off in such a manner, but she had a great life that came to a screeching halt very quickly. From then on, she was never the same person again. The small child known as Aoi was never originally known to be the 'Aoi Mitsurugi' she tells others she is. The name she was born with was Elizabeth Montague from the country of Arka. Her parents were very strict and by the age of 5, she was fluent to speak in French and able to understand most other languages, however she couldn't speak them very well at all. Atop the languages forced upon her, by the age of 6, Elizabeth was an gymnastics prodigy. How this happened was never really told, but it was also partial to that nobody understood her language. It made for a great cover for abusively strict parents. In this capacity, it made her feel like no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't correctly talk about any issues she had. This went on for the next 3 years as she slowly made her way into the Olympic events as one of the youngest gymnasts to compete. She did her best to make her parents happy so that they would be less harsh on her and instead try maybe even lighten up on her at all, however that hadn't lasted for all of 30 seconds until she was away from the cameras and people. A scolding ensued over her only having gotten a silver medal. As if she weren't worth the words, she was left inside of the building to cry and think about how she had disappointed them. It felt crippling to her that it happened, but she had peaked an age where she wasn't even sure why they had been treating her as such. So, the girl continued her fit until suddenly, the crying ceased. The locker room was quiet. No sign of her or any sound what so ever. After a couple of hours, the parents returned to get her ready to go home, but they couldn't find her. They yelled her name and searched all around, but ultimately having to involve the authorities as well. It appeared as though she'd ran away from her family and for once, they were worried. What they were worried about however, was not their daughter... but the money they could be getting from her. That's all this was to them; a paycheck. The blonde girl had woken up some time later and her head was groggy and her sight seemed hazy. A throbbing sensation in her head had her reach for it when she felt something off. A.. cat ear? Her hand jumped away as it twitched as though it were real and her eyes finally tried to adjust to the real world again. She was in a dimly lit room with a single bed, one vent, and one door. Her clothes were replaced with some type of unisex type of tracksuit looking attire and her balance was too obstructed to try and get up and walk. The door opened and a man in a lab coat followed by two others wielding large guns stood behind him. She never could forget the way he stared at her, grinning and chuckling to himself as though he'd just won a lottery of some kind, but as her vision cleared itself up fully, she had already had her back to the wall. He simply explained to her about her predicament and what happened to her since her crying fit. Years of every form of abuse known to man came upon this girls being. A 'Kasha' and human hybrid experiment. Her, among many other children taken from various backgrounds, religions, and risk-tiers had been congregated to be guinea pigs for this insane man. His goal? To create an army of subservient hybrids strong enough to rule the world! For 12 years, the hybrid had been among the best behaved... after a couple years of rebellion. Slowly but surely, Elizabeth had grown tired of being stuck I here. She had slowly been working on a way out more and more until she'd finally taken her chance. In the middle of the night, she took the time to wait until a passing of the guards for her to sneak out and through her escape route, allowing some of the others that she'd collaborated and trusted to come with her. Once free, she swore to go back one day on her own and end everything. But... after escaping, she had nothing. Everyone assumed she was dead, her ears and tail would leave her without much of a chance to try and go back. She took some time to get somewhere to help the others left a safe haven, but even those whom escaped with had separated from the neko. So, she had take up herself with a new name, avoiding everything that she could with the chunk of her own life missing in an attempt to get herself prepared for freeing everyone whom she had no choice but to leave behind. ♦ SPECIES INFORMATION ♦ Name of Species: Nekomata Baseline Dimension: From average domestic cat height, to human size. Nekomata and Kasha specifically can be many meters high and/or long. Baseline Appearance: Bakeneko generally appear as basic cats, some of which can stand and walk on their hindlegs. In human form, oftentimes their feline ears, tail, claws, and fangs are visible. Culture/Origin of Species: Bakeneko begin their lives as ordinary, unintelligent domestic cats. Upon growing older and hitting what is deemed a long period of time to have lived, the felines become self-aware and gain the ability to speak common languages. As they grow, they often become larger in size, sometimes reaching human height when standing, and learn many types of uncanny innate abilities. Bakeneko are innately malevolent and mischievous. If a Bakeneko lives long enough and grows in their malevolent nature, they become a Nekomata-- a larger and darker version of a Bakeneko, and possess a forked or two tails. Nekomata tend to prey on other beings, specifically humans. Kasha are the epitome of cat malevolence and exclusively prey on flesh. Name of Species: Human Baseline Dimension: Human, average is 5ft to 6 ft, although it depends on the human. Baseline Appearance: Well they're human, no fancy natural hair colours unless dyed, just casual brown/blue/green eyes naturally and pretty normal. Culture/Origin of Species: The most basic of species yet the strongest, humans have been around for hundreds of years and play a major part in history. The outnumber every other species, and it's common to see families with one human and one mythical creature as the parent. Humans cannot pinpoint their origin due to how long they have been on this land for. Traits: - Feline Agility | Bakeneko are fast creatures, and as such have +3 to their Speed Aspect.
- Kasha | Kasha are the most malevolent sort of cat yokai. Once a Nekomata has grown further and become more malevolent, they will transform into a monstrous version of themselves with a never-ending hunger for flesh. Kasha control not only ghost fire, but hell fire, as well as lightning.
- Poison Resistance | Once they have grown enough, Bakeneko find themselves resistance to many kinds of poisonous and toxic substances.
- Humans can fit in anywhere, it is easy for them to learn languages, different talents, fighting styles or cultures, this allows them to have an extra talent.
Flaws: • Bakeneko shapeshifting is far from perfect. They cannot hold shapes for too long and often will display their physical feline attributes if a single transformation gets exhausted. • Known to be cursed beings, Bakeneko often find themselves persecuted and killed off in many cultures for their innate malevolence.
