welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The Glacier Atranoch sighed as he set down his cup after hearing those words. He stood up, shifted his foot, shot at the hybrid and slapped her on the face so hard she fell backwards onto the wall. "You idiot. Whether or not how you were born doesn't determine whether you are a freak or not. You are not a freak. You're the combination of two strong and powerful races, mixed together to make a brand new race. You are the perfect balance of fire and shadow. You have multiple advantages thanks to your lineage. Anyone who calls you a freak is trying to make you out to be one, so that they can feel normal." He placed his hands on his hips and shook his head. "Idiot. Moron. Stupid. Immature. Regardless of whether or not your mother cheated on your father or not does not change, confirm, or affect those asshole's words. Get. That. In your head."

Ryse was unprepared to be thrown off the couch, let alone be slammed into the wall. She sat on the ground, clutching her head and groaning a little as she saw stars. The teacup that had been in her hand now lying on the carpet, shattered, the remains of the tea soaking into the fabric. When the dizziness cleared she shook her head, blinking away the stars and glared furiously up at Oras, the air around her suddenly shimmering with heat. "What the hell was that for?!"
As Oras began speaking, she slowly calmed down, the air returning to its normal temperature as she reined in her anger. She blinked in surprise. What Oras was saying.... "That's.... that's the nicest thing anyone has said to me." She said, a small smile on her face. She began chuckling, tears filling her eyes and a few rolling down her cheeks before she wiped them away. "It's funny. After all this time, the first compliments I hear come from an Atronach who thinks everyone are idiots. My mom is going to have a field day."

Ryse responding happily to his words, breaking into smile and tearing up was the last thing Oras expected, or wanted. Surprise would slash across his face for only a second before he rolled his eyes, strongly suppressing the blush threatening to spread across his face. "Don't let it get to your head, just crawl out of that muddle you dug for yourself already." He moved over to the broken glass and started picking it up. With his back turned to her, the blush made it's way through and he silently breathed in and out. This had just become super awkward... He took in another deep breath before he stood up and put on his annoyed face. "Pretty sure you're mother would question the school if she learned about me puppird."

Ryse laughed a little at Oras’ comment. “Ohh, I’m pretty sure she would do a lot more than that.” . She replied. Given what she’d told her mom about Oras already, it was needless to say that the older Phoenix didn’t view the Atronach in a very good light. She didn’t want Oras to be speaking to Ryse, let alone be near her in the first room place. It was a miracle her mother hadn’t shown up at the school yet, ready to melt Oras into a puddle. Maybe telling her that Oras had been nice to her for a change would lessen that chance.

Hearing her laugh made the entire situation even worse for Oras. He cursed in his head for what was going on. This was the only downfall to helping others out. They were able to get past his facade and because of that he became really awkward because of it. Oras scoffed. "Bring her on if she wants a fight. I don't go down easy, as I'm sure your little beat down will proclaim," he told her with a smirk, praying she'd back it down a bit if he kept this up. "Now than: If it does turn out that your mother did cheat on your father. You understand that it has no impact on who you are, what you are, and what people say to you correct?"

Ryse’s smile faded as she heard Oras’ next words. Well.... mostly. “I’m not nearly as powerful as my mom, so I’m not surprised that you beat me every time we fight. My powers pale in comparison to hers. She might even enjoy fighting you.”
The older Phoenix may have out of the war for many years, but that didn’t mean her fighting prowess diminished any. If anything, she’d enjoy the chance to test her skills against a powerful opponent. Once she wasn’t trying to melt him into a puddle, that is.
At Oras’ last statements, she thought for a few moments, before slowly nodding. Regardless of what the truth turned out to be, it wouldn’t change her opinion of herself. She was still wrapping her head around the fact that she wasn’t a freak. That someone besides her mother thought she was something other than strange, that she wasn’t cursed or a disease on the Phoenix race. It was nice.

He saw her smile vanish for the most part, which was a little bit relieving. However he would rather end this conversation now so she would have less chances to make things more uncomfortable for him than they already were. He nodded. "Alright then. We're done for the night I think. You go back to your dorm and take another week thinking things over. You'd better come back closer to accepting your lineage," he said as he walked back over to the wall. As he did so the room began to slowly cool down so he could enjoy the comfort of his element.

Ryse stood up, giving a quiet “Okay.” as she headed towards the door. She pulled her jacket tighter around her as she prepared herself to brave the cold once again. She put her hand on the doorhandle, pulled open the door, and paused.
She turned to where Oras was now leaning against the wall once again, a small smile on her face. “Thank you, Oras. For all the nice things you said. I.... it was nice hearing that I’m not a freak from someone other than my mom. So um.... thank you.”
With that she stepped out into the cold, closing the common room door behind her as she headed back to her own dorm.

As she stood up to leave he noticed she pulled her jacket in tighter so that she would keep warm. What was with that? Couldn't she just use her flames to keep herself warm? What was the deal there? He wondered though. If she learned to embrace her Grim side, would she be resistant to the cold? He supposed he'd have to wait and see. She looked at him again with that smile, and he fought the urge to blush as she thanked him for being nice to her. The longer she was here the more awkward and embarrassed he felt. Sooooo.
"Isn't it past you're bedtime Puppird? Get going already!" Once she left he'd sigh and slump back a little bit. He looked at the broken pieces of the tea cup and sighed. "Next time, I'll just make a cup made of ice."

Midnight walks were not uncommon for Inglisse, who often found herself stirred at night and too disturbed to return to sleep. Nightmares plagued her mind and thoughts, keeping her imagination alive and the voices and added thoughts loud. She found no comfort in staying inside her dorm room and thus would venture out to walk around the courtyard or at least the green dormitory halls.
Wanting to not stir any suspicion and if she absolutely wanted to leave the dorm, get by her summon without provoking suspicion, Inglisse used a generic transformation talent, often utilized by almost every non-human species to look human, to change her form into that of a rabbit. The rabbit was a mutt of sorts, a mixed breed of a lionhead and a silver fox rabbit, giving her a dark pelt with darker colors on her face, ears, legs, and tail, along with an abnormal amount of fluff, including a small mane. Hopping without stirring the air or making any noise, she bounded slowly through the halls until a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks. Skipping closer, the rabbit overheard the sound of Oras both lecturing… and comforting in his odd way… some girl. Sniffing the air, she smelled the heat of phoenix and the abrupt dangerous scent of canine-- an odd mixture, alongside the cooling scent of the ice atranoch. Being a bunny did have its sensory perks.
Amber eyes rested on the duo as the black bunny watched from the shadows, still as a statue. One could have taken her as a taxidermied animal and not thought anything of it. She found it mildly surprising to see Oras’ softer side. So it seemed he had somehow made something of a friend, by being a half decent person and not going at them with a swinging sword. He befriended a girl who was used to bullying, at that. It amused Inglisse, and fortunately took her mind off of her already emotionally rough night. Finally, awkwardness concluded the meeting of the two as they wrapped up their support group meeting. None of it stood out as particularly interesting to Inglisse, but she knew she could at least now hold him to the standard of decency for sure, albeit abrupt and tough love. He had a soft side, as he had shown her previously, and now was showing others.
