welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

Hearing her tell him she got the supplies from the school labs, he nodded. As well as making a mental note to check out the school's lab and it's supplies. He doubted this facility would host any living beings for the purpose of experimentation, but he learned the hard way in his past that not everything, nor everyone was as they originally seemed to be. He learned a painful lesson not to trust someone just because they were nice, or that there didn't seem to be any immediate evidence they were bad. However, the fact that she was openly telling him where she was getting her supplies... She could be lying, but her eyes were not showing that. They showed truth. It could be that he was wrong of course, which he'd be glad if he was but... He had to be sure.
He heard her question and realized he was a bit into a corner here. On one hand, he didn't want her knowing the truth and that he suspected her, even briefly, of torture and inhumane experimentations. However on the other hand, he didn't want to break his rule of never lying to his summoner... Unless the situations required it. This didn't. There needed to be trust between them. However if she knew a little bit as to why he suspected this of her... "...Let's just say, I learned the hard way during my first trip to this world that evil not only comes in every shape and size. But can disguise itself to look just like a pure and innocent child. I've learned to suspect everything and anything, to the point where it's become a natural reaction." He looked down at the strange figure and then back up at her. "What is the creature's exact ideal temperature may I ask?"

His answer confirmed the fact that he still was fairly suspicious of her. She could not begrudge him that, seeing as she had openly admitted he existed here for her own research purposes. However, from what he was implying, he had suspected something was wrong about the creation of the small rosebud creature. Fortunately, Mister Peckings was innocent; a fairly happy barely-sentient being that was enjoying life but still so desperately wanted to fly. She hoped to make that happen, seeing as the itching to use its wings likely would become unbearable as it grew. Her other experiments, however, she could not say they had the most legal of ingredients, due to the sellers not being the most credible of sources to buy from.
“I see,” was all she said, not having much to add to his statement. Certainly the world was harsh, she had experienced it herself, but he most definitely had his fair share of baggage, especially concerning his age. She would have asked him why, but that meant getting herself in debt to answer the same of a possibly personal question. As such, she moved on to answer his question. “Roses normally keep best in colder weather, but due to the warm-blooded body parts, a couple degrees below room temperature is ideal for Mister Peckings,” she explained, setting the creature down on the bed. It flapped and walked its way over to the Book of Baskerville, lying face up on the bed. Enjoying the magical energy of the book, the rosebud creature curled up on top of it.

Upon hearing what the temperature should be for the creature, he began cooling the area down, or absorbing the cold in the area, so as to provide the perfect temperature for it. While he wore the scarf Inglisse provided him, he always absorbed the cold around him to make himself more comfortable when he could, so this worked out. When he changed the temperature successfully he looked at the creature. "You are by far one of the many weirdest beings I have ever seen in my life. And I've seen a lot... Not the weirdest, but you're on the top ten list." Oras sighed and stood up, laying a hand on his sword which he carried with him everywhere he went. "Well this little quarrel of ours took up some time. If you have classes Inglisse you should probably prep up and head for them now. I'll probably do some training while waiting for your classes to end. Unless of course you're fine with me attending class with you. Not as a student of course, just an observer and guardian."

The temperature moved once more, this time to something she noted was likely comfortable for little Mister Peckings, who had curled up on the Book of Baskerville. Oras mentioned it was one of the weirdest things he had ever seen, which likely would not be far off from the truth for anyone. Inglisse could accept that it was a weird little thing, albeit not the weirdest in.. or on… her book.
Oras then mentioned that she had class. “You’re correct. Do whatever you like, just don’t cause any problems,” she answered. She personally preferred it if he went off to train and let her go to class in peace, but she was not going to tell him to avoid her unless she actually needed it. The blonde turned to her bed and began to make it, carefully moving Mister Peckings and her book as she did so. Finally, she would turn for her dresser to prepare for the day, but not before gesturing for him to leave the room.

By the time Inglisse had turned her head to look at Oras, and before she could even make the gesture to leave. He was already out the door. "Inglisse. Please remember that, I am on your side. I came to aid you." With that the atranoch walked out into the halls. He wasn't going to join her in the classes today. Not because he didn't want to, God forbid he leave her alone for too long. But because he felt she needed some time after what happened this morning. He did too. He wanted to meditate on the pages he looked through again. Just in case... In edition to this, well. He felt he owed her something after all of this.
