welcome to Eldritch Academy
In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

The library was a wealth of information normally, but for the girl who looked like she was around six or seven, this place was a quiet haven within the bustling school. Occasionally? Being around all those creatures bustling back and forth all over the place with their blood racing beneath flesh made it difficult to resist her instinct to bring some of that blood out into the open. Within the walls of this library no such rush existed, allowing the devil to take her time, keep herself calm between classes. Of course, she had no class today but was instead present for simple research into the occult. Getting to live with Dawn, had really sparked some sort of interest within her towards the supernatural aspects of the world they lived within.
"It's gone." she had been looking for a book on curse classes, but the particular introduction one she was looking for to make the reading easy, clearly had been taken by someone else before now. "I guess I'll have to chose a subject that isn't curses." the young female muttered softly, tracing her finger over the remaining books on the shelf.

Most of the Academy's campus was always bustling. Never was there a place that stayed quiet for long. A fact that a certain, very much cat-like girl, had to discover the hard way when she first arrived at the place a few years prior. Admittedly, by now she had found that she had erred in her judgement back then. There were indeed a few deserted places around campus, even if they were hard to spot. Which was probably the reason why they were so quiet. One of those quiet places, however, was incredibly prominent within the premises. And had been the first she had discovered, thusly serving as her refuge for a long time now.
The Library. A sea of silence. Almost magically so. No matter the bustling chatter and clamor outside, once one stepped inside, it was almost deafeningly silent. And Shirone loved the place for this quality. Together with the over-abundance in knowledge and stories and the high shelves, it was simply the perfect place for some reading and a nap. Especially for someone capable of shifting into the form of a cat.
In fact, at the very moment, a strikingly white cat was laying relaxed on the very top of one of the many shelves. Her blue eyes were fixed to the pages of a book, propped open in front of her. A reading cat, something that may have seemed strange to some, but wasn't so odd at a place like this. Whimsical as she was, Shirone had picked the first book that had seemed interesting enough from the racks beneath her when she entered and had since spent at least multiple hours reading it.
Her concentration was only mildly impeded when a voice that did sound somewhat familiar rang up from below her and the Nekogami wouldn't have minded it further, hadn't it been for the muttering that her sensitive ears picked up. Curses. The same theme that her book was about. Now intrigued, the transformed cat got up unto it's paws and performed the typical cat's stretch before she moved to the shelve's edge and peered down, only to recognize the figure below her immediately. Thinking that she could always continue her reading later, she called out to the tiny girl. "Mrroow~" A sizeable and entirely amicable meow resounded.

Dreams. They float in and out of existence. Sometimes they linger just long enough to disturb, enlighten, or inspire and at other times they disappear as soon as the mind is awakened. The mind sometimes forget the dreams in the moment, but always they come back in fragments or in haunting scenes to catch the mind’s interest if one has a curiosity for such things. Dreams are strange and mysterious things that are not bound to the rules of reality and so come in many forms.
Such was the case of the strange creature that sat stretched out on the top of one of the book shelves quietly writing notes in a book of strange material. The creature was a lamb like creature wearing a mask with a scarf of darkness around it that ended in a wolf like face that watched the people that came in and out of the library with steely eyes. The wolf watched the world for prey and the lamb wrote only pausing to look over at the sound of a meow in the library.
Strange eyes would catch the sight of a white cat and another that was in the section of the library that held a wealth of knowledge on things such as curses and other spells. They would’ve perhaps drifted over intrigued by a cat and also simply curious about what was going on; however, the creature would only blink as its attention was brought to another that was right under it.
A blue haired fellow that was looking at books until one of them decided to be not a book, but a creature instead. It seemed to give the other a start. Delicious fear? Was it in the air? Perhaps it was or perhaps it wasn’t. Regardless if it got a small snack or not, the creature would watch the other with an amused expression before closing its notebook and tucking it away inside of its body. From its lying down position it would let a hand dangle down from the top of the book shelf as it watched the male below.
“A creature that mimics books. Lovely no?” the creature would ask as it continued to observe the one below.

Nyx was beginning to see if she could find another book about the subject area that was growing increasingly interesting to her, when she heard a distinctive cat noise from above her, looking up to see a little kitty up there. "Why do you look familiar?" it would be muttered slightly as she reached her hands up to see if the cat wanted any help getting down, not even questioning what it was doing here. With the school diverse as it was, the cat could be another student or a teacher for all she really knew.
Often times, the little devil dressed in the hoody she chose because it made her look a bit less intimidating, because apparently even someone small with devil features was frightening to some. However, occasionally this had the opposite affect and the jacket just made it worse, unluckily this seemed to be one of those times. "Huh Ryan?" she quickly peeking through the bookcase realized who was on the other side, and was not utterly confused by his reaction. "Why would you say that? You know I'm a Blood Devil, we had lunch together like three days ago with Sharaku." she didn't stop to consider the last time he'd seen her she had her horns shaped like a rams instead of pointing upwards, and was wearing a stunningly different outfit.
"I don't think I exactly mimicked a booked, but my face was really close to the shelf." she laughed slightly, spreading her wings as they were starting to ache against her back. "But I think I read about a creature that's actually a book somewhere yesterday, could be interesting to track it down one day." she mused the next comment starting to dig through her jacket to see if she still had that book on her. As the current charge of the occult teacher? She sometimes had a few odd books on her.

One thing that Shirone had learnt not only in her time living in a temple, but especially once she had started living in the city was that members of all species, mostly, showed an immediate reaction to a meowing sound in their vicinity. Find a cat as the source usually was met with friendliness and delight. Thus it was no surprise to the Nekogami when the little devil reached up for her, while her pointed kitten's ears clearly made out her mutterings. So she didn't recognize her entirely in this form, then? Slightly amused, Shirone decided to simply keep up appearances and hopped down from her shelf, leaving the opened curse book where it was, on top of the thing. She, however, didn't land in the devil's arms, picked her landing point to be Nyx's head.
She quickly decided otherwise the very moment some student had half a heart attack in the next aisle, as he peered at Nyx through the hole that him taking a book from the admittedly, lower shelves had left. She immediately scampered up the the books in a straight vertical, right back to the top. Where she not only took the time to peer down the dude's side of the aisle with the creepiest cat stare she could muster, but also hiss at him like he had just stepped on someone's tail.
Only then did she recognize the other existence right next to her. And she immediately felt that this one was truly odd. So, her natural curiosity kicked in and she finally became invested in the situation. In.. her own way. Sitting down and staring at all three of them, that was. And not the normal cat 'stare' but the one that some people knew to recognize as something else in the shape of a cat 'staring' at them.

The creature would watch the scene amused. First there was the cat that had appeared to be reading a book. It seemed the white cat had decided to come down in its own way. It decided to land on the horned child’s head though at the outburst from the other quickly went back up the shelf hissing at the guy. The guy's name was apparently Ryan, according to the horned one who seemed to know him. There was also the mentioning of someone named Sharaku, a name that for now meant nothing to the being as it remained in its relaxed state on the shelf.
“Ah. We see,” the dream would say with a small chuckle. Apparently it had read the situation a bit wrong. It had thought the book in the male’s hand had caused him such a scare, but it was only the demon on the other side. Disappointing? Slightly. It would’ve loved to see what a book like creature would’ve done had it been in the room with them. What other emotions and reactions would it draw out in those around the place? It would’ve been entertaining to find out; however, today would not be that day. Oh well. In any case, this was entertaining enough. Anyway….
“We have heard of books and items mimicking ordinary things until they are picked up or disturbed. Some are said to be friendly and others hostile. We would like to gather more information on them one day. A live sample would be lovely,” the lamb would begin as it eyed the girl as she began to dig for something on her person.
Meanwhile the wolf like creature that hung around the creature’s body would turn its attention to the cat that was looking at them all in a way that did not match a cat’s stare. Finding this interesting the wolf would give the most… “charming” of smiles to the cat. Well at least as charming as face full of fangs could be.
