In a world of myths and mysteries, the pinnacle of the magical academies exists. Eldritch Academy offers education to all ages and species but specializes in the study and training of one's innate mystical capabilities, often called Eldritch Energies, Powers, or Unknowns, but more formally known as their Talent. However, tensions run high with the nations only holding a fragile peace as the Talents that rival the epitomes of technology change the balance of power.
With the more recent uprising of evil Shades and introduction of combat-oriented programs into Talent-focused schools, nations grow more aggressive towards one another. The demand for resources grows, and skirmishes at the border of Arka and Mistere become more frequent. Monsters run into the nations from the Wildes, terrorizing villages and cities. The need for trained or in-training Hunters and Guardians has never been more urgent.

 The Vamp Wolf  | The response only helped make it more funny, the hybrid offering an amused snort while he typed out his contact info. “No? You know, that’s actually quite the shame. It could turn out to be entertaining.” He doubted there was any chance, seeing how just a simple comment threw the vampire out of the loop like that, but he frankly didn’t mind either way. It was worth it even just for the reaction, honestly. He found it endlessly amusing that the guy would act so flustered over that type of thing at his age.
Giving the phone back soon after, he’d hum in thought. “Maybe it’s time for me to get a pair of binoculars so I can keep on the watch out….speaking of which, I assume there’s a chance he’s on the look out too, yes? If that’s the case, he might be aware of the people Nyx hangs out with more frequently already, making it potentially dangerous if we do happen to run into him somewhere.” While it was hardly guaranteed, the man was already going out of his way to test on innocent people. Why would he stop at that? He knew she was at this school, and chances were he had some way to keep an eye on her from the distance. It could in fact be bad if anyone who was better acquainted with her had an accidental run in with the man without being prepared for it. |

Was Sharaku…? No. He was just messing around. That had to be it. Ozaki scratched nervously at the back of his head as he took the phone back. He was utterly unaware that this nervous habit of his was progressively making his hair more and more unkempt as the conversation went on.
“I could see that…” He should tell his bats to keep an eye on his surrounding area while he was outside just in case they might pick up anything near him. Ozaki was of course always alert, but it was good to have a few extra eyes around. Then again with a good set of binoculars or a proper scope, you didn’t need to be anywhere near your chosen target in order to learn things about them. There were even ways of hearing conversations from a far off distance, they could be add ons for those things. They were a bit pricy, but worth their weight in gold for the intel you could collect with them.
“I’ve got my bats combing the city to see if they might be able to spot him… But of course they’re limited in that they are nocturnal creatures.”

Ozaki had not caught that it was a joke at all. It was hard to read past Sharaku’s deadpan. Plus, the way he figured it, trying to do something was better than nothing at all. “Yah, they’re pretty sneaky. But you’re right there.” He was right about quite a few things. Sharaku would make an excellent hunter. It was pretty hard to spot his bats around the city with how they moved, but too many was tempting luck.
When Sharaku commented on his hair he balked for a moment before trying to smooth over his expression. He laughed a little, trying terribly to cover up his nervousness. “Aaah. Yah. I know. It doesn’t really like to behave.” He didn’t want to admit he’d never figured out the trick for fixing his hair without the aide of a mirror. And besides. Even when he did his best his hair usually ended up a mess anyways.

The Vamp Wolf | "Well, better not overwork them then." He'd just shake his head with a faint huff there. Given that the city was not too far from the school though, chances were the man wouldn't want to be seen there unnecessarily either, making the surveillance less likely to yield positive or negative results anyway. Maybe nothing would happen until he either decided to simply strike, or they did something to draw him out first. "Actually", he'd wave a hand towards the vampire's hair jokingly, "I think it'd behave better if you kept your hands away from it. You've contributed to your current state about four times just throughout this conversation." Which was in a way funny to watch, but that also made it hard to not comment on it eventually. The guy seemed to be way easy to fluster, and that was just about as good as handing out a direct invitation to throw jabs. Perhaps it'd end up earning him some glares, but it wasn't like people tended to love him to begin with anyway. Can't make it that much worse, can it? |

Ozaki nodded, knowing that. Though that being said, he did have a whole flock at his disposal of which he could rotate using. So overworking them wasn’t really an issue. though of course they had to be given time to feed them. He knew how to take care of his bats and give them time to take care of themselves… Because hell if Ozaki could actually do that much work. He was naturally going to omit the fact due to that being a whole conversation he didn’t particularly want to have or explain. He couldn't always use the whole flock of course, and he knew that. Bleh. He was already explaining himself in his head to Sharaku, and he hadn't even brought up the topic.
The vampire put his hands down at his side and in his pockets when the were-vampire mentioned him messing with his hair. “Oh. I didn’t realize I was messing with it.”

Always full of questions Sharaku was. It kind of felt like he was being interrogated. “Its a habit.” He muttered in response. He supposed he’d kind of noticed. But also not really at the same time. He was currently imagining Sharaku was of the type of vampire that could see their reflection. There were a few variants out there in the world after all.
“Now that you mention it… Probably not… I’ll still take the book though if only for the hell fire section.” Also it would help him figure out what material he could look for. Buying it would be more expensive. But in the end Sharaku was right. He couldn't be going on such a dangerous mission when there was a threat like Askel looming overhead.

Ozaki snorted in laughter at that, at that moment feeling his face turn steadily hot. Damn it all. Now he was blushing? There were many things that sucked about being a vampire. One of them was the highly delayed blushing due to their slow heart beat. A fact that Sharaku would hopefully remember. He had said something quite risqué a couple of minutes ago.
“Yahah. He’d be in well deserved company down there.” He could think of at least a couple of people he’d like to drop down into hell while he was at it. But it didn’t quite feel right to be wishing he could drop his father down into hell when it was his fault Yuuto was like this any how. He was going to ignore the fact he was blushing and hope Sharaku did too. Not that Ozaki thought he'd get that lucky.

The Vamp Wolf | It'd be quite tough to be particularly mindful of something that you don't normally deal with. While he could be taken off guard or confused, he really did not get seriously embarrassed easily at all, thus making blushing quite a rare occurrence. Plus, being only half, he wouldn't be that slow. Nevertheless, whether he was aware or not was not about to be something he was planning to let the guy know anyway. Of course, he wouldn't ignore it either, that much was a given. "Probably, unless he knows how to get out. If nothing else though, you're certainly representing the hotness of hell quite well yourself I see.", he'd shake his head in amusement before pausing for a moment to think. "Actually, how hard is it to find the way out of there? Tossing people down wouldn't be that useful if they could just wander right out." Which had to be possible without an extreme amount of difficulty somehow, considering the vampire had been planning to go there and return safely. |

Selene damn it. Of course he’d comment on that. He rubbed at his face for a moment, trying to keep himself from fritzing out again lest it go on for longer than it already was. Ozaki was more than thankful for an easy out from addressing it further though. He put his hand back in his pocket before he could mess up his hair worse again.
“If there’s a way in, there’s a way out.” Won’t be a problem if we cripple him first though and drop him off far from even the possibility of getting out. Let him have fun roasting in the fires of hell and getting torn apart by the various demonic creatures there… A person like Askel deserved all that was coming to him and more for neglecting a child as he had. But that was not something he was going to say out loud. There was a certain image Ozaki tried to go for. And while rambling doofus seemed to be the prevailing one, it was better than the alternative.
Which in this case would be a man that would be more than happy to leave someone with two broken legs out in the planes of hell to meet their well deserved fate. Yah… that was something best kept to oneself.
“There are a few known physical entry points, but the main ways to get in seem to be occult rituals. So getting in or out from anywhere in hell is possible if you have the right ingredients.” That was a big if though. One of the books he had grabbed was actually on possible entry points. You could pay to be teleported there... But boy was that expensive in its own right. Ingredients from hell were expensive for a reason.

“Most people spend their whole lives trying to avoid it.” Ozaki chortled. A little half smile played across his face, which was brief in livelihood once Sharaku brought up Fluffy. The Fluffy they had meet seemed more interested in murdering everything in the name of her god than learning. He would like to think that it was just an alternative version of her from another dimension. But it was much more plausible to believe that it was her past memories come back. Either way, it was a version of her that was plausible when she inevitably got her memories back.
He’d miss Nyx, that was for sure though. This Fluffy might end up being someone that would need to be hunted down and killed though… Frankly Ozaki was not up for that task. But this school did have plenty of hunters who didn’t have a personal connection to her that could do it… He still didn’t want it to have to go that way though. “I guess she probably wouldn’t stick around.” Ozaki said in a bit of a subdued tone. “Considering the type of person she is- was… Might be for the best.”
He didn’t know what to think right now about Fluffy.

The Vamp Wolf | “…” There’d be a bout of silence for a while, the taller man seemingly contemplating over something with a mild frown on his face. There was something he kind of wanted to say in regards to this topic, but he was pretty certain the vampire would not be too pleased with hearing that point of view, considering the way the situation at hand was now. “Maybe….or maybe not. This whole thing may end up simply going in a circle. If she does go back to her old ways, she’s going to likely have people after her again, and this time it might end worse than just erased memories. If that happens, the man would just get what he wanted in the end anyway, regardless of whether we get him out of the way or not.” That was not the only problem in the matter however. In case she were to become more or less exactly like Fluffy, and this presumably who she was before this whole mess, she would in fact become a murderer who kills just to spill blood for some ‘God’ who probably doesn’t even really matter in reality. Is it…right to even say that she did not in a way deserve what she got for her actions? While he had nothing against the girl as she was, that did not change who she was deep down, and therefore the reasons for why she became a victim. Except that she technically wasn’t one if they were to consider she very likely had it coming rather than it being an unfair crime against her. Perhaps the way it had been done was somewhat unethical, but without knowing how to kill a Blood Devil straight up, they had to choose something, right? A lot of people face severe punishments for committing horrible acts. She wasn’t special enough to get a free cop out there.
Looking off to the side briefly, he’d furrow his brows before glancing back at the vampire again. “You’re probably not going to like this one….but there’s something I’d like to ask. How do you truly view her, knowing that at one point, she used to be a killer just to please a God, possibly rightfully earning her the fall down she got? Do you think her innocent and the man after her as the culprit just because she is currently unaware and seems like a kid that needs protecting? Because in all fairness, as twisted as it may sound, if her original self was a danger to society with her murderous activities, he might be justified in trying to prevent her from going back to doing it again, and in having taken extreme measures to stop her in the first place.” It was a bit of a controversial topic…but it could indeed be looked at from two opposite perspectives here. Did a memory wipe make her truly innocent? She still was who she was at heart, and it would not erase things she had already done and the consequences of such. |
